Alvik is designed to allow users to tackle a range of innovative, real-world projects, “from an obstacle avoidance robot to a smart warehouse automation robot car, the possibilities are endless!” says Arduino.
“Alvik simplifies coding and complex robot projects, enabling users of all levels to immerse themselves in the exciting world of programming and robotics. It’s also a cross-discipline tool that bridges the gap between education and the future of robotics with CSTA and NGSS-Aligned free courses. This innovative and versatile robot makes learning and creating more accessible and fun than ever before.”
The system includes a Time of Flight Distance Sensor, for up to 350cm, RGB Color Sensor, a 6-axis Gyroscope-Accelerometer, seven touchable buttons, and a Line follower Array (x3). Connectivity is via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth L.E
In terms of possible extensions, you can add LEGO Technic connectors (x4), M3 screw connectors (x8), a Servo motor, and I2C Grove and I2C Qwiic connectors…
Note that – for the education side of things – Alvik also comes with project-based learning lessons and activities (via MicroPython) to encourage students to explore technology through hands-on collaboration.
The system is priced at €130 and the following add-on options are available: an Arduino Student Kit (€63.50), an Arduino Science Kit R3 (€199), an Arduino UNO R4 WiFi (€25) and an Arduino Nano ESP32 with headers (€19).
