PORTLAND, Oregon — A cold frosty start to your Wednesday.  Valley fog pockets may develop through mid-morning, otherwise a partly to mostly sunny sky is likely with light winds and Portland metro highs holding in the upper 40s.

Dry weather with below normal temperatures continue Thursday but Friday afternoon will warm into the 50s and possibly to 60 degrees.

The warming will be short-lived.   Valley rain and mountain snow return this weekend, with the snow level parked around 3,000 feet to higher at times over the Cascades.

Cool and wet weather will likely continue next week with rain or showers in the forecast at least through Wednesday.
