ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Albany Memorial Campus will reopen Monday at 7 a.m. after being closed for two and a half days due to flooding. The Emergency Department will also reopen after being rerouted to other local hospitals.

Hospital officials said a faulty water cap dislodged from a pipe, covering the first, basement, and subfloor with water. Several areas in the hospital were impacted, like the main elevators, cafeteria, and patient areas.

Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations for St. Peter’s Health Partners Kim Baker said she is thankful for the restoration crews and dedicated facilities team’s work. “I would also like to express my gratitude to our patients and colleagues for their understanding and flexibility, which have aided us in responding swiftly to this incident,” Baker said.

Equipment was back up and running on Saturday, but the hospital will continue cleaning up and remediation over the next two weeks. Anyone who visits the hospital in the coming weeks should use the main entrance and follow the signs to the west wing elevators, as they are the only elevators operating.
