I was 13 years old and the first album I purchased was Synchronicity. MTV launched just a few months later and the network put The Police in high rotation. At the time, they were the biggest band in the world. Yep, I had a teenage crush on Sting. insert heart emoji.

Sting, known for his work with The Police and as a solo artist, has made a lasting impact on the music world and apparently me too. With The Police, he earned six Grammy Awards and six top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including classics like “Every Breath You Take” and “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.” His solo career has been equally successful, with 12 Grammy wins and five more top 10 hits, such as “All for Love” and “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free.”

Here’s a look at Sting’s top 10 songs from the Billboard Hot 100 chart:

  • “Every Breath You Take” (The Police) – No. 1 for 8 weeks (1983)
  • “All for Love” (Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, Sting) – No. 1 for 3 weeks (1994)

  • “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free” – No. 3 (1985)
  • “King of Pain” (The Police) – No. 3 (1983)
  • “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” (The Police) – No. 3 (1981)
  • “We’ll Be Together” – No. 7 (1987)
  • “Fortress Around Your Heart” – No. 8 (1985)
  • “All This Time” – No. 5 (1991)
  • “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” (The Police) – No. 10 (1981)
  • “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da” (The Police) – No. 10 (1981)

What is your favorite song from Sting? Mine didn’t make the billboard chart… so here is a special mention for “So Lonely” (The Police) -1978
