Photographer’s description: “I was out for an afternoon walk on the lake. The clouds were spectacular in the blue sky. I was on a dock and spotted the kayaks approaching. Waited until one of them crossed into the cloud’s reflection. It looked like he was on an ice floe. Used iPhone 11 Pro.”
Critique: “This picture is downright captivating. If your eye was drawn right to the sun, like mine, then no matter which way you look, you find a different form of ‘interesting.’ The near-perfect stillness in the foreground is an exercise in crispness. The water is like glass from the clouds’ silver linings to the first kayak’s knifelike slice, and then the ripples spread out into a really nice composition. The second kayaker adds lovely depth, and the reflected trees are a nice border. It’s a fantastic picture of the sky, without pointing your camera at the sky. Thanks for submitting!”
