A big change in the weather pattern arrives this week

PORTLAND, Oregon — The first half of October has brought us a lot of sunshine and pleasant temperatures with many days well above average, that’s about to change heading into the second half of the month. Look for increasing clouds today with possible showers later this afternoon. Showers will increase into the valley Tuesday and rain at times will be likely Wednesday and Thursday.
Current timing shows steady widespread rain Wednesday morning and early Thursday. Thursday afternoon cloud see sun breaks mixed with heavy showers, including possible hail and thunder. Total rainfall for the valley through Thursday night could near .75 inches.
The active weather will come with lowering snow levels over the Cascades Wednesday night and Thursday. Sticking snow as low as 4,000 feet will be possible, meaning travelers over the passes could see white.
