A MUM was left horrified after she picked up her ten-week-old baby from the nursery only to find him bleeding and covered in scratches.

The mum from Melbourne, Australia, claims the childcare centre told her it was an accident that happened while baby Noah was left briefly unsupervised.

Rachel who does not wish to be identified, told 9News that staff said another tot scratched him during a nappy change.

She said: “I felt lots of pain in my heart, I didn’t even want to click the images because they were too graphic.

“It was such a horrible thing that could happen to our boy, we couldn’t accept this.”

The outraged mum then expressed her doubts about the explanation she was given and insists it was not an accident.

She added: “They explained that this happened accidentally but we just can’t accept this explanation.

“More than 20 scratches on Noah’s face, how can this happen accidentally?

“We [her and the children’s father] were both in tears. We couldn’t believe such a horrible thing happened to our boy.

“My husband says that this was definitely not an accident; this was child abuse.”

Noah was taken to the Box Hill Hospital where doctors told her the scratches should heal without scarring.

Meanwhile, a mum who got a nursery worker fired claimed she felt compelled to complain based on “mother’s instinct”.

And a former nursery worker has shared her personal experience of working in childcare and why it’s put her off of ever sending her own children there.

And this mum was furious with her daughter’s nursery after they gave her the cold shoulder for being late to pick-up.
