In my opinion, there aren’t many dishes that hit all of the comfort-food pleasure points quite like lasagna. Sheets of pasta, chunky tomato meat sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, and dollops of ricotta cheese throughout — it’s no wonder why lasagna is so satisfying. What I love most about lasagna is that the base ingredients have literally never changed. Sure, plenty of people have added their spin on this classic Italian recipe, but the original ingredients still stand just as strong on their own, making this a go-to meal for cooks of all experience levels.

While I’ve always been a fan of the classics, I am also a big proponent of trying something new and seeing what happens. Which is why when I came across Giada De Laurentiis on TikTok and a video showcasing her take on a super-simple sheet pan lasagna, I was immediately interested in trying it out for myself, and I believe you will be too!

In her video, De Laurentiis explains how the crispy part of lasagna is her absolute favorite — which I am very inclined to agree with — and that she has officially perfected her recipe. Once again, all of the classic ingredients make an appearance here, with no need for any other cameos. De Laurentiis’s recipe includes cut-up sheets of lasagna, ricotta cheese, spinach, spicy Italian sausage, onion, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese. She goes on to prepare the pasta and meat sauce separately, then combines everything in a bowl to mix together before spreading it all out on a prepared sheet pan, adding large dollops of ricotta cheese throughout.

You can check out all the details of the recipe for yourself here, and create your perfect version of the best sheet pan lasagna at home. But before you do, check out these tips on how to properly freeze lasagna, as well as these tips on how to reheat it so that you can be prepared for those leftovers. That is, if you don’t scarf down the entire pan in one sitting!
