There has been a long-standing rumor that, years ago, Ellie Goulding cheated on Ed Sheeran with Niall Horan.
Here’s some backstory: back in August 2013, The Mirror claimed that Ellie and Niall were dating. To complicate matters, later that very same month, Ellie was photographed at the 2013 VMAs sitting next to both Niall and Ed at two separate times. In addition, Ellie was seen holding hands with Ed at one point during the awards show (and we have that photo right here for you to see.)
Over the years, rumors began spreading that Ellie might have cheated on Ed with Niall, and that there was possibly some sort of love triangle. Ellie briefly spoke about Niall and Ed in an interview, and confirmed one of her big hits is not about Ed.
Now, Ellie is finally speaking to the rumor in the comment section of one of her recent TikToks.

In a video on New Year’s Eve, Ellie danced to a Harry Styles song. One fan commented, “can’t believe u cheated on ed with niall but slay fr.”
Ellie saw the comment and responded, “False!!!! But also slay.”
