So we asked ourselves: How do you build a functional wardrobe that works for your body type and lifestyle without going overboard?

The answer is spring capsule wardrobes.

Spring is a great time to clean out your closet and start fresh with a capsule wardrobe.

The idea behind a capsule wardrobe is that by having fewer items to choose from when you get dressed in the morning, you’ll be less likely to overthink your outfit.

So what should you include in your capsule?

Here are five must-haves:

1) A Neutral Top (Black Or White)

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - Two women can be seen in the picture. They are hugging each other. The women on the left side is wearing a black top. The woman on the right side is wearing a white top. They are not wearing make up.

A neutral top is a necessity in any capsule wardrobe, and it’s great for layering.

If you don’t know what neutral means, think black or white.

Black tops are flattering on everyone and can be paired with almost any bottom, while white tops are more versatile than you might think.

They look great with jeans and can even be worn to work!

2) A Pair Of Jeans Or Leggings

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - Someone’s lower body can be seen. The person is lying on the floor. His or her fit is placed on top of a cabinet. On the cabinet, a plant is also placed. The wall is painted white.

A pair of light-wash jeans or leggings is a must-have for your spring capsule wardrobe.

The great thing about denim clothing is that it’s so versatile, and you can create any look you want with it.

You can wear a pair of jeans with a t-shirt and sneakers, or dress them up with a blouse or button-down shirt and pumps.

3) A Blazer Or Sweater

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - Two persons can be seen in the picture. It is raining. The man is holding an umbrella, and is sharing it to the old woman. Both of them are wearing formal clothes. They are walking towards a building.

There’s nothing better than a springtime blazer.

It’s light enough to wear on a warm day, but it also gives you the option to layer it with a sweater if you need extra warmth.

The best part is that it’s something you can wear year-round.

It looks great with a dress in the summer and jeans in the fall.

4) A Pair Of Pants In Black Or Navy Blue

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - A woman can be seen in the picture. She is wearing shades. Her top is a white shirt. She is wearing a navy blue pants. On her left hand, she is wearing a watch.

Guys, it’s time to start thinking about your spring capsule wardrobe.

To get started, we recommend starting with a pair of pants in black or navy blue.

This will be your go-to piece for the season and really help you set the tone for what your wardrobe will look like as you build up from there.

5) A Dress

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - A woman can be seen in this picture. She is looking sideways. She is wearing a pink dress. The background is also pink. The woman’s hair is long.

The first thing you need in your spring capsule wardrobe is a dress.

It doesn’t matter if it’s the black and white or floral print, a dress is a must-have for any girl’s closet.

The dress can be worn with sneakers or heels, depending on the occasion.

You can also wear it with leggings for an everyday look.

What Are The Cons Of A Capsule Wardrobe?

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - A hand can be seen in the picture. A cloth is waving in the air. The cloth’s color is red. The hand is touching the red cloth. The background is white.

If you’re looking to save money, a capsule wardrobe is a great way to do so.

But there are some downsides to this type of wardrobe as well.

Here are some of the cons that come with having a capsule wardrobe:

1) You Must Learn To Be A Minimalist

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - The picture looks deserted except for a chair. The chair’s color is red. It is alone in the field. The ground’s color is yellow green. The sky is clear.

The biggest con of a capsule wardrobe is that you need to learn to be a minimalist.

This can be hard because it’s easy to feel like you need more than you actually do.

But if you’re able to keep your closet down to just one or two outfits for each day of the week and some pieces for going out on the weekends.

Then you’re well on your way to having a capsule wardrobe that works for you.

2) This Might Not Fit Well With Your Lifestyle Or Personality

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - This is a picture of a walk-in closet. The closet is empty. They are painted white. The curtains are dragged to the side. The floor is made up of wood.

Capsule wardrobes are a great way to streamline your wardrobe, but sometimes they just don’t fit with your lifestyle or personality.

If you like to have lots of options in your closet, a capsule wardrobe might not be the best choice for you.

It can be hard to find pieces that work for a variety of situations, so if you like having an outfit for every occasion, this might not be the best option for you.

Capsule wardrobes also aren’t for everyone.

If you like wearing bright colors and prints, this could be a problem because capsule wardrobes generally have more muted colors and classic silhouettes.

3) Expensive To Maintain

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - A man can be seen in the picture. Though his face is not visible, both his hands can be seen. His hands are holding bills. A notebook is placed o the table. A large calculator is on his side.

One of the biggest cons of a capsule wardrobe is that it can be expensive to maintain.

Even though your clothing is limited to a few pieces, you’ll still need to replace them as they wear out, and that can get pricey.

You also probably won’t have the same amount of variety in terms of fit and style when you’re working with such a small number of items.

This can mean that you end up spending more money on alterations, or having to buy new clothes if nothing fits quite right.

4) The Process Is Long

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - Two women can be seen in the picture. They are shopping for clothes. The woman on the right is looking at the tag of a sweater. A lot of clothes are displayed. The woman on the right is wearing a watch.

There’s no denying that the process of creating a capsule wardrobe is long.

You have to find and buy all of the pieces that work for your lifestyle, which can take weeks or even months, depending on how often you wear each item.

Then, once you’ve bought all of the items and put them together in your closet, you’ll need to wait for them to “break in” and become more comfortable.

5) Limited Options In Your Wardrobe

Spring Capsule Wardrobe - This is a picture of clothes. They are hanged in a metal rack. Some hangers don’t have clothes hanging on them. The hangers does not have a uniform design. The walls are painted dark green.

Capsule wardrobes tend to be pretty limited in their options.

You might find that you’re only able to store a few different outfits in each capsule, which can make it difficult to keep your wardrobe fresh and interesting.

If you’re one of those people who likes to change up their looks on a regular basis.

Or if you have several occasions throughout the year where you need to dress up for work or an event.

Then a capsule wardrobe may not be the best choice for you.
