4-year-old boy critically injured after falling out of window in West Lawn

CHICAGO — A 4-year-old boy was crtically injured on Saturday afternoon after he fell out of a window on the city’s Southwest Side.

According to Chicago police, offices were called to the scene just before 5:30 p.m. following a report of an injured child in the 3700 block of West 63rd Street in West Lawn.

Once on scene, police say a 29-year-old woman told officers that she had gone to check on the child and noticed that the window screen was torn. She then went outside and found the child with abrasions to his face.

The child was then taken to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Currently, it is unclear how far the child fell and an investigation is now underway.
