Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, Tacoma police officer responded to a complaint of vandalism in progress.

TACOMA, Wash. — A woman suspected of causing damage to 16 businesses in Tacoma was booked into Pierce County Jail early Saturday morning. 

According to preliminary information from police, a total of 56 windows were “destroyed” by the suspect. 

One of the businesses impacted was Vessel Vintage Collective on Broadway, according to a Facebook post, which states that “over half” of the businesses on what is known as “Antique Row” had their windows smashed overnight.

Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, Tacoma police officer responded to a complaint of vandalism in progress. Witnesses provided police a description of a suspect and her direction of travel.

The police officers found the woman, who initially resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody, according to information from Tacoma police. 

The suspect was booked into Pierce County Jail for first-degree malicious mischief and resisting arrest. 

There were no reports of injuries.

An investigation is underway.
