Many Lake Garda beaches can be found all around the lake. On Lake Garda, there are actually a few private beaches as well as more than 28 miles (45 km) of free beaches! Even a small beach is never too far away from you. Sometimes you can find them hidden away in places where you wouldn’t look for one.

Since the beaches are on a lake, there aren’t always strong tides and waves to move the stones around enough to eventually form sand. The size of the shingle (smooth stones or pebbles) varies from larger sizes with a diameter of 5 to 10 cm to fine and very small sizes (like coarse sand).
