It feels like the British royal family is always surrounded by drama, and this time, Prince William and Queen Camilla are at the center of the tension.
According to RadarOnline, the two are at war after allegedly got into an argument at Peter Phillips’ June 6 wedding to pediatric nurse Harriet Sperling. Reports claim that Camilla “blocked” Harriet’s access to any royal jewelry, including pieces belonging to her now-mother-in-law, Princess Anne.
“William was furious,” a source revealed. “He has a very close relationship with Peter and is disgusted that Camilla would try to stir up trouble on his wedding day just to show off her power.”
At the time, William stepped in and overruled Camilla, but the damage was done. Harriet ultimately walked down the aisle in a Pragnell headpiece, forgoing any family jewels.
“Even though it’s a moot point now, Camilla is still mad,” an insider said. “She’s accusing William of purposely undermining her.”
William and Camilla’s dispute comes after she and King Charles faced backlash for leaving Peter and Harriet’s wedding early. The pair attended the ceremony but skipped the reception to attend Derby Day at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
“There will be people who understand the importance of the Derby to the King, but others will inevitably see it as an unusual decision to leave a close family wedding so quickly,” one source previously told RadarOnline.
Another commented, “The optics are difficult because weddings are rare family milestones. When senior royals leave before the celebrations are fully underway, it naturally attracts attention and sparks debate about priorities.”
“Supporters will argue Charles was fulfilling longstanding commitments connected to the monarchy and horse racing,” they continued. “Critics, however, are already portraying the move as a rapid exit from an important family event.”
