Fall and I was like this is, this is time to go and I booked it over there and I jumped over some rocks to get over there and thankfully there was an indent to where I could put my feet like this and prop myself up and then they grabbed my wrist and I pulled them up. When the spectacular spider isn’t making rescues, picking up litter, meeting fans, or just hanging out. So I turn on my EMS scanner and I listen for anything going on and I have notes of which street. I should be on the look for. The CPR certified social media star listens for people having breathing problems running to help until EMS arrives. My intention is to help the people of Greenville and protect and honestly spread kindness along the way. What to expect at this weekend’s Motor City Comic Con

Since 1989, Michigan’s Motor City Comic Con has celebrated all things pop culture, and has long been one of the largest conventions in the Midwest. In 2022, the event went back to being held twice a year, now taking place at Novi’s Suburban Collection Showplace in the spring and the fall.

This year’s spring edition, set for May 17-19, will feature some of the biggest actors from television, movies, and streaming platforms, along with artists, writers, and comic book creators. Along with various panel discussions and special events, celebrity and comic guests will sign autographs and hold photo opportunities for an extra cost.

Motor City Comic Con’s celebrity guests include actors Shameik Moore (Miles Morales of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), Tom Kenny (the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants), Charlie Hunnam (Jax Teller from Sons of Anarchy), and William Shatner (Captain James Tiberius Kirk from Star Trek), as well as WWE wrestlers Ron Simmons and Lex Luger.

Comic book guests at Motor City Comic Con will include creators known for work with Marvel, DC’s Batman, SpongeBob SquarePants, Paw Patrol, Sherlock Holmes, and more.

Aside from meeting hot guests, attendees can also participate in numerous attractions during the three-day convention. Some unique happenings this year include a Star Wars storytime, anime screenings, cosplay and drawing contests, trivia sessions, art classes for children, and more.

In addition, artists, writers, and illustrators will be featured throughout an Artist Alley. Plus, there will be crafters selling gifts, crafts, and replicas, as well as some of the largest comic book and multimedia dealers from across the country offering a variety of merchandise including comics, toys, art, unique jewelry, clothing, and memorabilia.

About That Spider-Man Reference in Challengers

As they’re getting ready for the final match in Challengers, Zendaya’s Tashi Donaldson questions asks her husband, Art Donaldson (Mike Faist), if he wants to just be rich or if he actually wants to be a tennis champion. Mid-argument, their young daughter Lily cuts the tension by asking if she could watch … Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse instead of more tennis. At the Los Angeles premiere, Zendaya gave a little insight on how the reference made it into the final cut; after all, she is one of the film’s producers. “What’s funny is that I think it might have been something else, but that’s what we could get cleared,” she said with a wink. “It’s a fun little callout.” The “callout” is, of course, referring to her role as MJ in MCU’s Spider-Man alongside her real-life boyfriend, Tom Holland. While she doesn’t appear in the animated Spider-Verse films yet, she and Mr. Spidey both have expressed interest in joining the next movie. For now, it’s just a fun little Easter egg that is sure to get a couple chuckles, even if a proper Spider-Man: Homecoming mention didn’t make it into the final cut.

Google Could Help You Pick A Halloween Costume

Halloween costumes can be a pain, so a little suggestion can help in a big way…and Google has just the trick

Halloween is right around the corner and people are thinking about what are they doing for the weekend and what are they doing for Halloween night. Stay home, stay home and give out candy, go out in a costume, buy a $3 black mask and call it a day.? Decisions and stress.

Most US adults will not be dressing up based on data from the latest Yahoo/YouGov poll. The poll unmasked 22% are opting to dress up for the spooky holiday but a whoping 63% have chosen to skip out this season while 14% haven’t decided one way or another. Depending on what you like to do, one side is wrong. For those who do like to dress up, Google could help pick a halloween costume.

Google Trends set up a spooky page called “Frightgeist” showing the most popular costumes and the most popular in each state. There are different sections, including a map of the U.S. highlighting the most searched costumes per state and an option to search for a costume according to your own personal preferences.

According to the poll a slight smaller percentage will be making their costumes as opposed to buying (hello Amazon!). A small group are having someone else make their outfit for them, while another are bringing back an existing one from their own closet.

And another group is still undecided. Here are some of the most popular Halloween costumes for you to consider

Barbie

The blockbuster movie lives on in a variety of ways – especially the top choice in this year’s costume. Folks can’t get Kenough of Barbie and why not have recreate the movie with Barbie costumes.

SpiderMan

Superheros reign as a top costume and Spiderman wins out. It could be it is an easy costume. The gays love it for some reason and truly focus on Spidey being the sexist hero. Superman and Batman come up behind him.

In West Hollywood, a large portion of the guy’s costumes are underwear which show they are a cop, a superhero, a cowboy, etc.

‘Spider-Man 4’ Is Happening, But Work Is Currently on Hold

While it appears to still be several years away, it does look like we will get a fourth Spider-Man film in the MCU from Sony and Marvel and starring Tom Holland. Amy Pascal, one of the producers on most of Marvel’s Spider-Man properties, recently sat down for an interview with Variety. She shared exactly why the film hasn’t been making many new strides in the last little bit.

“Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are. We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started,” she explained. Pascal also confirmed that a live-action Miles Morales movie and Spider-Woman are in the works.

Holland separately confirmed early work on Spider-Man 4 in a separate interview, where he explained…

I can’t talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings. We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There’s been multiple conversations had, but at this point it’s very, very early stages.

While some may find the strike annoying since it slows down production on projects like this, it only serves to make the end project better in the end. If writers feel like they’re being taken care of by the studios they’re working with, it inevitably means that they’ll be more confident in their work and more stable.

If Holland does return for another film, this would mark the first time any Spider-Man film series has made it to a fourth movie. Tobey Maguire’s franchise stalled out after Spider-Man 3; Andrew Garfield only appeared in two Amazing Spider-Mans. There was technically a fourth Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie in the works, but it never made it to theaters.

The new Spider-Man film, Across the Spider-Verse, is in theaters now.

Tom Holland reflects on mental health struggles

Tom Holland’s dream role as Danny, the main character of the upcoming Apple TV thriller series “The Crowded Room,” not only gave him an opportunity to grow professionally, but also forced him to take a careful look at his own mental health, he revealed in a new interview.

The “Spider-Man: No Way Home” star reflected on the impact the challenging role has had on his personal life in an interview published Tuesday in Entertainment Weekly.

“Learning about mental health and the power of it, and speaking to psychiatrists about Danny and Billy’s struggles, has been something that has been so informative to my own life,” Holland told Entertainment Weekly.

Holland’s character, Danny, is an anti-social teen who is arrested for a crime he may not have been involved in — a much more “vulnerable” role than he has played before, he said.

“I’m no stranger to the physical aspects of the job doing the whole action-movie thing,” Holland told Entertainment Weekly. “But the mental aspect, it really beat me up and it took a long time for me to recover afterwards, to sort of get back to reality.”

In the interview, Holland also opened up about sobriety, revealing to Entertainment Weekly that he has been sober for 16 months.

During filming for the 10-episode series, for which he is also credited as an executive producer, Holland found himself aligning personally with Danny’s character, unable to separate himself from his role.

“I remember having a bit of a meltdown at home and thinking, like, ‘I’m going to shave my head. I need to shave my head because I need to get rid of this character,’” Holland explained. “And, obviously, we were mid-shooting, so I decided not to… It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.”

The 26-year-old actor said thanks to the help and support of his co-stars, he was able to get through the struggles he faced while filming. Holland said he learned a great deal about himself from the role, including “recognizing triggers” and “things that stress [him] out,” like being on social media.

Holland has taken breaks from social media in the past, explaining that it becomes difficult to read about himself on various platforms.

“I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, to be overwhelming,” the actor said last year. “I get caught up and I spiral when I read things about me online, and ultimately it’s very detrimental to my mental state.”

He hopes viewers of “The Crowded Room” will learn the same lessons he did playing Danny — to be more sympathetic of others’ mental health issues, as well as understanding of their own personal struggles.

“I hope that people will feel educated about the powers of mental health, the struggles, [and] our incredible abilities to survive.”

Okay, maybe your superpower is that you’re so unpopular you’re basically invisible. Cool. Whatever. Why don’t you go and sit with the other invisible kids. They’re around here somewhere—I think? That could be them over there. Or maybe that table is just empty? Idk. Go sit down. If you sit in Captain Invisible’s, it’ll probably be the most action he’s had all year.

Okay, see the guy whose lunch box is feeding him with mechanical arms? That’s Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man. He’s what we call “new popular”. He wasn’t really all that cool when he first hit the scene. I mean, don’t get me wrong. He was still pretty popular. There was like… a Black Sabbath song about him I think? Idk some Dad music. But he got SUPER popular when he was played by Robert Downey Jr. in 2008. And it’s all been uphill from there.

9. Thor

Thor is also what we call “new popular”. He wasn’t really all that back when his first comics started. Tbh I thought he looked like kind of a dork with the winged helmet. He debuted in Journey Into Mystery #83 all the way back in the 1960s. But it wasn’t till the Avengers movies took off that he saw his popularity soar. The first Thor movie was okay, but he didn’t hit home with fans. But then the people at Marvel had the bright idea to make him comic relief in movies like Thor: Ragnorok and the fans went wild. And who wouldn’t go wild over Chris Hemsworth, am I right?

8. The Incredible Hulk

Okay so the Incredible Hulk was always cool, but a lot of people didn’t give him the time of day because his mild-mannered Bruce Banner persona wasn’t as cool as, say Bruce Wayne. I mean Bruce Banner is kind of a nerd, and nerds weren’t really in for a while. Now nerds are so in; basically everyone on Earth is a nerd in some fandom right now. Just wasn’t the case back then. But what’s not to love about a guy who turns huge and green and smashes things when he gets mad? I wish I could do that.

7. Wolverine

Wolverine was also always cool, but again, he didn’t get MEGA cool until he a Hollywood makeover. The original Wolverine is kinda ugly. He’s short, stocky, hairy, and looks like he got punched in the face one too many times. He’s not exactly movie-star quality. Then some genius of a casting director decided that Hugh Jackman would be a perfect fit and the rest was history. Besides, he’s got KNIVES IN HIS HANDS. So cool. Yeah he’s cutting up his sandwich with them. Wouldn’t you?

5. Wonder Woman

You see that woman with the rippling biceps? That’s Wonder Woman. She’s in the big leagues. She’s been popular forever, and is arguably the most popular female superhero of all time. She’s got it all: brains, beauty, and a hero’s heart. Ugh. I just wanna be her. She grew up in a community of Amazonian warrior women, and is the strongest of them all. She was always a heavy hitter on the popularity front, but her popularity shot up even further now that she’s played by the incredible Gal Godot in the movies.

6. Captain America

To be honest, America is kind of a scary place to be right now, but Captain America makes it just a little bit brighter. He was a symbol of American strength and resilience since the 1940s. He has his roots in antifascism, and he was pictured punching Hitler in his debut comic in 1941. He represents all of the best parts of American ideals: courage, optimism, and tolerance of all cultures and beliefs (except for fascism). WAKANADA FOREVER! Omg sorry I just get really excited whenever I talk about Black Panther. I’m a big fan. His popularity EXPLODED back in 2018 with the release of the first Black Panther film. It was the first Marvel film with a Black director and a predominately Black cast, and was also the first superhero film nominated for Best Picture. Needless to say, it’s a serious touchstone in pop culture. T’Challa was played by the late, great actor Chadwick Boseman. A modern cinema legend.

3. Superman

You see those three dudes in the middle of the table? Those are the Big Three. The most popular superheroes of all time. And you see that guy in the red cape who also looks suspiciously similar to a certain mild-mannered journalist at the Daily Planet? Yeah, that’s Superman. He was one of the first superheroes ever conceived. He also has antifascist roots. He was created by two Jewish illustrators named Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1938 to beat the shit out of Nazis, and his name, Kal-El, is a Hebrew phrase meaning “God is in everything”. This guy didn’t need Hollywood to make him popular, he had been a legend for DECADES.

2. Batman

See that guy in the dark cape next to Superman? He’s vengeance. He’s the night. He’s totally NOT a billionaire playboy named Bruce Wayne. What gave you that idea? Batman was created by Bob Kane in 1939, and since then he’s aged like the fine wine in Bruce Wayne’s mansion. But again, he’s totally not Bruce Wayne. Batman has it all. He’s got the dark past, the utility belt full of gizmos, and the mind of a master detective, and the body of a black-belt martial artist. He also didn’t need help from Hollywood, but one could argue that The Dark Knight is the greatest superhero movie of all time. Bruce Wayne is even in it! And yes, it is totally a coincidence that he and Batman are never in a scene together.

1. Spiderman

Okay, see the cute kid sitting in between Batman and Superman? The kid who caught that redhead and her lunch tray when she tripped earlier? That’s the most popular superhero of all time: Spiderman. There have been a few Spidermans (a whole Spiderverse of them, actually) but the first and most famous is Peter Parker. He was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962, and has gone on to sell BILLIONS of dollars worth of comics and movies. Peter Parker is unstoppable, probably because he’s so charming! What’s not to love about a loud-mouthed kid from Queens? I know I love him. I pass notes to him in class all the time. He stopped opening them, but I know if I keep trying he’ll dump that ginger and take me to prom.
