King Charles has been urged to make a huge decision about the future of the monarchy as the fallout from the Andrew and Epstein scandal continues to rumble on.

It has already been a turbulent start to 2026 for the royal family. The king’s brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was sensationally arrested on his birthday last week, throwing the Firm into fresh crisis.

Now, a close former aide to Princess Diana has issued a stark warning.

King Charles warned over future of monarchy amid Andrew scandal

Appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored last night, Diana’s former butler and confidante, Paul Burrell, suggested the king may ultimately need to consider abdication in order to protect the institution.

Paul, 67, served as Diana’s butler for a decade from 1987 until her death in 1997, and has remained a vocal commentator on royal affairs ever since.

The monarchy has faced renewed scrutiny in recent months over Andrew’s association with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.

After millions of Epstein files were released in January, fresh allegations emerged claiming Andrew may have sent confidential and sensitive documents to Epstein during his time as the UK’s trade envoy in 2010.

Last week, the disgraced royal was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office and later released under investigation.

Paul Burrell issues warning to royal family

Speaking to Piers Morgan, Paul did not hold back.

“I’ve always said, the monarchy is only there for as long as the people want them there.

“And the latest poll shows that only 51% of the United Kingdom supports the monarchy.”

“That’s pretty low,” he warned. “We’ve never been as low as that.”

Paul went on to deliver a blistering assessment of Andrew’s past behaviour.

“But, you know that Andrew was obnoxious, entitled, spoiled, greedy, and, he thought, [he] was untouchable.

“And, until this time, all members of the royal family have been untouchable.”

According to Paul, what the public now “need” from the royals is complete transparency.

“Thankfully, William and Kate are untouchable at this moment in time,” he continued.

“Our future king and queen have no blemish. And if it comes to push and shove, and the king has to decide whether it’s him, as King Charles III, or the monarchy, it has to be him.

“I mean, the monarchy has to be bigger than any one person. So, it’s in safe hands if it goes to William.”

Palace must show ‘they care’

However, Paul cautioned that time may not be on the palace’s side.

“But don’t leave it too late,” he warned. “Because you know the palace moves at a snail’s pace. And they have to be on top of this.

“The palace needs to be on top of this inside the palace walls. They need to show the public that they care.”

He added that the public must see clear action being taken.

“They are dealing with this.

“No more fluffing around, and no more excuses,” he insisted. “I really think it’s time for decisive action with our monarchy. Otherwise, we’ll lose it.”

As pressure mounts and scrutiny intensifies, the question now facing King Charles is whether firm, visible action can steady the ship, or whether more drastic steps may one day be required to safeguard the monarchy’s future.

King Charles was once reportedly left drenched in “salad dressing” following an argument with Princess Diana, according to her former butler Paul Burrell.

The now monarch and his late ex-wife were together for 11 years before their separation in 1992, and while much of their strained relationship played out in public, claims continue to emerge about what allegedly happened behind palace doors.

Former royal butler and close confidante to Diana, Paul Burrell, has made the claims in his new book.

Now 67, Paul worked for the late Princess of Wales for a decade, serving her from 1987 until her death in 1997. During that time, he says he witnessed a number of explosive arguments between Diana and her then-husband.

One particular evening has clearly stayed with him.

According to Paul, he had earlier helped arrange what was meant to be a romantic candlelit dinner for the couple. But things did not go to plan.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, he recalled: “One evening, he rang the bell, and I went through after hearing this almighty row from the other side of the door, knowing I shouldn’t intrude until it went quiet.”

‘Almighty row’ left table overturned

Describing what he says he saw next, Paul continued: “The dinner table was upside down, broken china everywhere, food everywhere. And he was covered in salad dressing.”

He claimed Charles looked at him sheepishly and said: “Oh, I’m terribly sorry. I seemed to have caught my sleeve on the edge of the table, and everything just tipped up.”

“‘Of course.’ He knew, and I knew the real reason was that there’d been an almighty row and Diana had fled upstairs in tears,” Paul alleged.

He went on to insist it was not an isolated incident. “Of course, they would argue, and I was there. I stood there and watched them shouting and screaming, and I cleaned up the messes. I brushed up the broken china,” he said.

King ‘not a conciliatory man’ during marriage

Paul also claimed that during his marriage to Diana, the king was not a “conciliatory man”.

He said he witnessed “many” confrontations behind closed doors, adding that some were allegedly “more than a shouting match”.

According to Paul, “plates were smashed, tempers raised and even tables overturned” during some of the couple’s most heated exchanges.

However, he maintained that after losing his temper, Charles would be “contrite and apologetic” before retreating to Highgrove House.

At weekends, Diana would travel to Highgrove with Prince William and Prince Harry in an effort to present a united family front. But as Paul suggested, it was not always the picture of domestic harmony.

Prince William has shared a refreshingly honest insight into life at home with his three kids and how they handle their emotions.

The Prince of Wales, 43, appeared on a special episode of BBC Radio 1’s Life Hacks programme, where he joined a panel to discuss male mental health and suicide.

And in a candid moment, William admitted he still finds understanding his own feelings a work in progress.

During the discussion, hosted by Greg James, William reflected on the way he processes his emotions.

He said: “I take a long time trying to understand my emotions and why I feel like I do, and I feel like that’s a really important process to do every now and again, to check in with yourself and work out why you’re feeling like you do.

“Sometimes there’s an obvious explanation, sometimes there isn’t. I think that idea that mental health crisis is temporary you can have a strong mental health crisis moment but it will pass.”

His comments struck a thoughtful tone, with the future king stressing that difficult moments, while intense, do not last forever.

William’s struggle with his kids

Of course, it is not just his own feelings that keep him on his toes. William was asked whether his children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, are open about their emotions at home.

He joked: “Yes, sometimes too much.”

William continued: “I get all the details, which I love. It’s amazing. Being able to understand it, have time with it, decipher it, sometimes.

“You feel a sense that you need to fix it for everyone and that I find quite difficult. I have to remind myself that you don’t need to fix everything but you need to listen and it’s important to be ok with those feelings and comments.”

It is a relatable admission from a hands on father who, like many parents, has to resist the urge to solve every problem placed in front of him.

‘You have to talk about your emotions’

William went on to underline why these conversations matter so much, especially for the younger generation.

He said: “For the next generation, understanding emotions is ok. You’re going to have uncomfortable emotions and really great emotions, there’s a huge spectrum in between.

“My understanding, learning about mental health through my journey, has been about understanding why the previous generations didn’t talk about it.

“They kept to themselves and handed that mantle onto the next generation, not deliberately, but that’s all they knew.”

Determined to see change, he encouraged young people to break that pattern: “You have to talk about your emotions, you can’t just bottle them up and pretend they don’t exist because that’s when it all goes wrong.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales have consistently been open about their parenting approach and the choices they make for their children. One firm rule in their household centres on mobile phones.

Speaking to Eugene Levy on his show, The Reluctant Traveler, last year, William revealed: “None of our children have any phones, which we’re very strict about.”

As ever, William’s message was clear. Whether it is at home with George, Charlotte and Louis or on a national platform discussing mental health, he believes listening matters, talking matters, and breaking old habits around silence could make all the difference.

Prince William was reportedly firmly “put in his place” after he urged both his father, King Charles, and his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, to cut Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor adrift from royal life altogether.

Andrew, 65, has been mired in controversy for years, with his links to the late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein continuing to cast a long shadow over the monarchy.

According to a new royal book, Prince William, 43, has wanted his uncle kept well away from the heart of the royal family since 2019.

That was the year Andrew’s now infamous Newsnight interview aired. During the BBC sit-down, the former Duke of York was pressed about his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

He was also questioned about Virginia Giuffre. She alleged she was made to have sex with Andrew on three occasions when she was 17 after being trafficked by Epstein.

Andrew has always vehemently denied the allegations. In the interview, he said he had no recollection of meeting her. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.

The interview was widely viewed as disastrous. In its aftermath, William is said to have believed swift, decisive action was needed before what one source described as “the rot” set in.

It is claimed the Prince of Wales saw Andrew as a serious liability, a potential threat to the royal family’s chances of survival if the crisis spiralled further.

Monarchy in ‘fire fight’ after Andrew’s Newsnight interview

The fresh claims appear in a new book about the Prince and Princess of Wales, written by The Mirror’s royal editor, Russell Myers.

In an extract serialised in the Mirror, a palace source is quoted as saying: “The Prince of Wales was adamant the whole episode would never go away and, despite how others may have felt, there was absolutely no upside in Andrew being protected.”

The book alleges that William pressed both Charles and Queen Elizabeth II to act in the wake of the interview.

However, his intervention reportedly didn’t go down well, with William ultimately being “put in his place”.

At the time, the monarchy is described as being locked in a “full-scale fire fight”. William apparently feared the scandal could inflict lasting damage on the institution’s future.

Prince William’s ‘view’ on uncle Andrew

“His [William’s] view was crystal clear: Andrew shouldn’t be anywhere near the family under any circumstances, not by association, not at family functions, anywhere. Every single time there was a new revelation, which no one knew when it was coming or what the next one would be, it was a stain on all of the family,” the source claimed.

The insider added that when you consider how today’s headlines could shape William’s future reign, it becomes “easy” to see why he took such a firm line.

“He never much liked his uncle and wanted him out of the picture immediately before the rot further set in. William’s view was that he [Andrew] got himself into the whole mess, so he should be left to his own devices to sort it out away from the family,” the source alleged.

Allegations against Andrew

Six years on, events appear to have shifted. Andrew has lost his royal titles. He has also left Royal Lodge in Windsor. It came as further details about his links to Epstein have emerged.

In January, the US Department of Justice released more than three million files relating to Epstein and his crimes.

Among them were images that appeared to show Andrew kneeling on all fours over an unidentified woman lying on the ground. The files did not provide context for the images.

Representatives for Andrew were contacted for comment on the material.

Andrew continues to deny any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. Being named or pictured in the Epstein files does not in itself indicate wrongdoing.

William and Kate’s statement on Andrew

William and Princess Kate previously addressed the allegations in a statement. A spokesperson said the pair felt “deeply concerned by the continuing revelations”.

They added: “Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.”

Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace have been contacted for comment.

Prince Harry became emotional this week as he met with bereaved families.

The families are supporting a lawsuit against two of the world’s largest tech companies, Meta and YouTube.

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been raising awareness of the dangers of social media for some time now. They have actively campaigned to highlight the negative impacts that platforms can have on the mental health of children, young people and their families.

This week, the Duke of Sussex, 41, spoke with families who had gathered after the start of a trial in California.

Prince Harry gets choked up during meeting with families

The trial will examine whether Instagram and YouTube damage young people’s mental health. Meta, the owner of Instagram, and YouTube are accused of creating platforms that are addictive by design, claims they dispute.

As reported by the BBC, on Wednesday, Prince Harry gathered with families. He told them: “We’ve said time and time again that this is a David versus Goliath situation.

“I’ve been in some similar situations myself – vastly different – but when you’re sitting in court and if you have that feeling of just overwhelming emotion, because you can’t believe that the people on the other side are saying what they’re saying – that by the very nature of defending what they’re defending, the lies that they are stating, is devaluing life, is devaluing your children’s lives – if that brings stuff up for you, it is totally normal. Do not feel ashamed.”

Thank you for doing everything that you’ve done.

He continued: “None of you should be here,” as he became choked up.

Clearing his throat, Harry added: “Thank you for doing everything that you’ve done. Thank you for telling your stories over and over again.

“Truth, justice and accountability: those are the three things that will come from this.”

Harry and Meghan’s work on raising awareness of social media dangers

For some time, Harry and Meghan, 44, have supported families affected by online harm. They have also championed creating a safer online world for children and young people.

In a new statement on their Sussex website, the duke and duchess have discussed the trial.

It read: “Through their philanthropic efforts in the online harms space spanning six years of dedicated learning, listening, and advocacy, Prince Harry and Meghan, today, recognize the pivotal moment taking place this week as it pertains to families seeking truth, justice and safeguards for children and communities around the world.

“Families devastated by online harm have waited too long for this moment.”

They mentioned the growing community of The Parents’ Network. The initiative was launched, with the support of Harry and Meghan’s Archewell organisation, for parents and caregivers “bound by shared experiences of internet harm”.

The statement continued: “This week, social media companies are starting to face accountability across the world.

“In Los Angeles, Meta and Google face the first jury trial examining whether social media companies deliberately designed their platforms to addict children. Hundreds of families are bringing similar claims, arguing that features like infinite scroll and manipulative algorithms were built with profits, not child safety, as the priority.”

In addition, the statement concluded: “Enforcement remains complicated. Age verification must work without creating new privacy risks. Young people will seek workarounds.

“Governments must put safeguards in place not just on the part of the companies but on the part of their own duty to human rights and safety. No single country’s law solves a global problem.”

Meanwhile, it detailed the next “real test” which is whether platforms and all new technology companies will design “with children’s wellbeing as a first principle”.

The couple then invited people to “support these brave families and parents who have paid the ultimate cost in losing a child”.

They said these families have still stood “strong and ready to fight for the rights of other families, championing their efforts as they advocate for the protection of all children online”.

Meghan Markle made her very first speech as a soon-to-be official member of the royal family, just three months after her engagement to Harry was announced.

And let’s just say, it didn’t exactly go to plan.

Meghan Markle’s speech script mishap

Appearing at the esteemed 2018 Endeavour Fund Awards, which seeks to recognise the achievements of wounded army personnel, Meghan Markle took to the stage to make a speech.

However, things didn’t exactly go smoothly. In fact, things were a little fluffed.

Meghan reportedly “oozed” confidence ahead of her muck up.

She was said to have walked onto London’s Goldsmiths’ Hall to co-present a Celebrating Excellence Award with the previous winner, Neil Heritage.

Meghan began: “The second prize of the evening is awarded to an individual who has endeavoured to achieve excellence in their chosen sport or adventures challenge.”

She then handed over the microphone to British army veteran Neil.

Unfortunately, Neil had appeared to lose his spot in the script.

Despite the mess up, Meghan smiled at the audience as the moments ticked by. She even let out a giggle as she rifled through the notes with Neil.

Neil eventually quipped: “Who organised the notes?”

Meghan’s smooth recovery

Being a script-memorising pro, former Suits star Meghan managed to recover smoothly from the mishap.

Five years later, it was revealed what really caused the confusion.

David Wiseman, Director of the Invictus Games Foundation, admitted in an interview that he had “messed up” by giving Meghan the “wrong script”.

Speaking on HELLO! Magazine’s A Right Royal Podcast with hosts Andrea Caamano and Emmy Griffiths in 2023, Wiseman confessed: “I was writing the scripts and there was a last-minute request for a change from her team. But she got the old version, and the new version was sent to her co-host.

“I don’t know if you remember, they were both sort of not arguing, but saying ‘No, this is the version’. And so there was a fluff of the lines in front of everybody on her first opening speech as the [future] Duchess of Sussex.”

David Wiseman admitted he “died a little bit inside,” over the fluffed lines.

Seated next to Harry, he said he almost had his head in his hands.

He described that on the inside he was going: “‘Oh, oh, just, just skip it. Just skip it. Move on, move on, move on’.”

David even admitted he sent Meghan an apologetic text afterwards.

How the Duchess of Sussex reacted

“Meghan jumped on the text: ‘David, it’s M, honestly, really really, don’t worry about it’. She was just so kind,” he recalled.

At the time, it was quite unusual that Meghan had been asked to present the award in the first place.

In contrast, Kate, who wed Wills in April of 2011, didn’t make her first public speech till March 2012.

Despite the blunder, Megs went on to speak at the following Endeavour Fund Awards in 2019 and 2020.

Prince Harry’s behaviour has changed drastically, as the Invictus Games build up towards a UK return, a body language expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex has grown in confidence, according to the expert, just in time for the Games to return to his homeland.

Prince Harry is the most ‘open’ royal

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton spoke about the royals and how their behaviours teach us more about them.

Of Harry, he said: “Harry is the most open Royal. He’s an open book and wants to let people in. When Harry isn’t feeling comfortable, we will see his face and neck flush red – a clear sign of discomfort.

“It’s the body’s way of reacting when we experience a change in emotion or a situation where we’re not at ease. Harry used to be very quiet and shy when out and about as a Royal, whereas now he is very expressive with how he’s feeling,” he continued.

“He wears his heart on his sleeve and isn’t afraid to be true to himself.”

Continuing, Darren said, “Nowadays, it’s rare for Harry to feel nervous when attending Royal events.

“When he was seen at the Invictus Games, almost nothing could get in the way of his confidence. You can see a dramatic change in Harry’s resilience and independence. He loves to connect with people,” he then continued.

“He’s a very active listener and wants to help and support where he can. He’s always displaying genuine smiles with direct body language, suggesting he’s in a good place but also being true with his emotions.”

Harry has ‘no plans’ to see Charles during UK return

Ahead of returning to the UK in 2027 with the Invictus Games, the Duke of Sussex will be in Britain later this month for a high-profile court appearance.

The royal is due to give evidence in a legal case against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), the publisher of the Daily Mail.

The trial is part of an ongoing privacy lawsuit involving several celebrities, including Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley. It’s reportedly scheduled to begin on January 19.

While the date has been tentatively set, the trial’s exact timetable has yet to be formally confirmed.

According to The Telegraph, this lack of clarity has prevented Harry from finalising his travel plans, including booking his flights.

As a result, it’s been claimed that Harry is unable to commit to any personal engagements while in the UK. This includes seeing his father.

The king will “almost certainly” be in Scotland during Harry’s trip dates. King Charles traditionally retreats to his Scottish residence after the holidays before resuming royal duties.

Kensington Palace was placed on heightened alert after an intruder carrying a “heavy rucksack” allegedly climbed into the grounds of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s home twice in the days leading up to Christmas.

The incidents are said to have happened just before the festive period. Royal aides have been informed of the security breach. The alleged Kensington Palace intruder is now being held in custody.

According to The Sun, Derek Egan, 39, is accused of scaling a fence and entering the gardens of Kensington Palace, prompting a rapid response from security teams. He was reportedly arrested following the first incident on December 21, before being released on police bail.

However, just two days later, Egan is alleged to have returned to the palace grounds. This lead to a second arrest on December 23.

He has since been charged with two counts of trespassing.

The intruder was intercepted by officers from the Met Police’s Royal and Specialist Protection Command. They rushed to search the palace gardens after he breached the boundary. Reports claim Egan was seen carrying a heavy rucksack at the time.

Former head of the Met Police’s Royal and Specialist Protection branch, Dai Davies, described the situation as concerning.

Speaking to the outlet, he said: “The fact he repeated the offending after being given bail, given the nature of it, gives serious cause for concern.”

Intruder to appear in court

Egan was due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Christmas Eve. However, unconfirmed reports suggest he refused to leave the prison van. He was subsequently remanded in custody.

He later appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, where he was again remanded in custody. Egan is next due to appear at the same court on January 6. No plea has been given.

In a statement, the Met Police said: “On Tuesday, 23 December, Derek Egan, 39 (23.05.86) of Clayfield Way, Hillingdon was charged with trespassing on a protected site and breaching bail conditions.

“He was remanded in custody and appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 24 December.

“The charges relate to incidents on Sunday, 21 December and Tuesday, 23 December when Egan was arrested on suspicion of trespassing on a protected site in Palace Green, Kensington.”

William and Kate’s home

Kensington Palace is home to ten members of the royal family and staff. This includes the Prince and Princess of Wales. Although the couple currently live in Windsor and use Kensington Palace as their London base.

It is understood they were not at the residence at the time of the alleged intrusions. They were instead spending the festive period at their private Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, on the Sandringham estate.

Other residents of Kensington Palace include the Duke of Gloucester, the late Queen’s cousin, as well as Princess Eugenie, who uses Nottingham Cottage on the grounds with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their two sons. The Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and the Duke of Kent also reside at the palace, at Wren House.

Prince William and Princess Catherine’s main family home has been Adelaide Cottage since 2022. However, the couple are planning a major move to Forest Lodge, which they intend to make their “forever home”. The eight-bedroom property is said to offer increased security and privacy for their family.

Kensington Palace and Met Police have been approached for comment.

Forest Lodge ‘forever home’

The move is understood to provide more space for their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Security experts have revealed that significant changes are being made to the property to protect the family, including the introduction of a six-mile exclusion zone around the estate.

Former royal protection chief Dai Davies has said the measure is designed to counter “credible threats” faced by the family. While some neighbours were initially unhappy, as the changes would restrict access to areas popular with dog walkers and ramblers, Davies stressed the move was about safety rather than seclusion.

“More distance means more time,” he wrote in the Daily Mail. “And time is a lifesaver.”

A former royal butler has shared his prediction on what could lie ahead for Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children as the royal family heads into 2026.

One of King Charles’ former staff members believes the Prince and Princess of Wales are set to step even further into the spotlight next year, firmly positioning themselves as the future of the monarchy.

Speaking to the Independent, former royal butler Grant Harrold said William and Kate are already taking the reins. He explained: “William and Catherine are very much taking the lead these days. I think going into next year, William and Catherine’s roles are going to become more poignant. I think they are going to do more duties, I think we’re going to see them more as a family.”

According to Grant, this is all part of a wider message the couple want to send: “I think what they’re trying to show the world is, ‘This is the future of the monarchy.’ That family are very close, obviously. That’s what they’re trying to show everybody is that this is the future. I think supporting his father and stepmother is very important to [William]. I think that’s what 2026 is very much going to be.”

William and Catherine are very much taking the lead these days.

Turning his attention to the king, whom he worked for between 2004 and 2011, Grant said Charles shows no sign of slowing down: “The king seems to be very keen on getting on with the job. I think next year, his schedule looks pretty full as well. We’ll see them over Christmas, then there’s a period where everything goes quiet into January. Then once that period has passed, we’ll see them getting into full swing for the royal year.”

George, Charlotte and Louis are the ‘future’

Grant also had plenty to say about the Wales children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, describing them as the monarchy’s future.

He said George is already “doing more and more,” helping him grow into his role, and added that all three children are “very much the future”. Grant also believes William is making sure his children understand the modern world, including social media, while still striving to give them as normal an upbringing as possible while they’re young.

Predictions for the royal family next year

Elsewhere, predictions for 2026 have also come from the stars. Celebrity astrologer Inbaal Honigman shared her royal forecasts while speaking to Tarotoo.

She believes Prince William is in for a “busy, rewarding year that he will share with his nearest and dearest”, adding that he may find himself “run off his feet”. As for the Princess of Wales, Inbaal said: “Princess Catherine is wisely incorporating more rest into her schedule. Even with her decision to take things easier, her social calendar will still be relatively full, though not all appearances will be in person.”

This follows a year of recovery for Kate after her cancer diagnosis in 2024.

Looking ahead, family time is expected to be a key focus for King Charles in 2026, while Queen Camilla could be heading off on several trips. In the US, Inbaal predicts Prince Harry may be more open to reconnecting with his family and discussing joint appearances, while Meghan Markle could step back from television work to focus on spending time with loved ones.

With so many predictions already in play, all eyes will be on the royals to see how 2026 unfolds, and whether it truly marks a new chapter for the royal family.

Princess Beatrice and sister Princess Eugenie spent Christmas Day in Sandringham.

Many had wondered whether the sisters would spend the Christmas period at Sandringham with the royal family.

Reports claimed the sisters were torn over whether to spend Christmas with the royals in Sandringham or with their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, in Windsor.

Both Andrew and Sarah have faced scrutiny in recent weeks over their association with late convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew recently lost his royal titles and honours amid the scrutiny, and will leave his Royal Lodge home next year. Sarah will also leave the property, where she has lived since 2008.

Princess Beatrice and Eugenie spend Christmas with royals at Sandringham

Reports recently claimed that Beatrice was going to spend Christmas abroad with friends.

However, a source reportedly told The Sun that Beatrice “changed her mind” over plans to spend it abroad.

On Thursday, Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, were seen with the royals as they attended a church service on Christmas morning.

Princess Eugenie also attended the service with her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

Royal family’s ’emphatic message to Andrew’s daughters’

Body language expert Judi James weighed in on Beatrice and Eugenie’s appearances on Christmas Day.

She told The Sun: “The wide smiles looked deliberately performed in a gesture of resilience and possibly stoicism.

“But the warmth and the protection from the Firm as a whole looked like a very emphatic message to Andrew’s daughters here.”

It’s likely been a tough few months for Beatrice and Eugenie amid their father’s scandal.

Andrew has faced scrutiny for years over his links to Epstein. He was also accused of sexual assault by the late Virginia Giuffre.

The wide smiles looked deliberately performed in a gesture of resilience and possibly stoicism.

Ms Giuffre alleged she was made to sleep with Andrew on three occasions when she was 17 after being trafficked by Epstein.

Andrew has always vehemently denied the allegations.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor scandal

In October, Andrew announced in a statement that he would stop using his Duke of York title.

Days later, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles had “initiated a formal process to remove the style, titles and honours of Prince Andrew”.

The palace also confirmed Andrew would now be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The statement also added that he had received formal notice on his 30-room home, Royal Lodge. Andrew signed a 75-year lease on Royal Lodge in 2003.

It’s said he’ll move to the Sandringham Estate at some point next year.

Meghan Markle had a “fantastic” first Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham, according to Prince Harry.

Before marrying Harry, the Duchess of Sussex spent the festive period with the royals in 2017. It came  just under a month after her engagement to Harry was announced.

Meghan Markle’s first royal Christmas

2017 saw Meghan spend her first Christmas alongside the royal family at Sandringham.

Meghan accompanied her then-fiancé Harry and the rest of the royals as they attended a service at St Mary Magdalene Church on Christmas Day. The appearance came just weeks after Harry and Meghan announced their engagement in the November.

The now-duchess wore a long, wide collar wrap coat in the camel colourway, for the occasion. Underneath, she had a burgundy velvet wrap-style dress.

She topped the look off with a brown velour beret and over-the-knee suede boots in nutmeg.

Harry opened up about Meghan’s first royal Christmas a couple of days later, during a stint guest editing BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on the 27th of December.

Meghan had ‘fantastic’ first royal Christmas

Appearing on the programme, Harry was asked about how Meghan found the festive period with the royals.

“It was fantastic, she really enjoyed it. The family loved having her there and you know, there is always that family part of Christmas, there is always that work element as well,” Harry said.

It was fantastic, she really enjoyed it.

“Together we had an amazing time, we had great fun staying with my brother and sister-in-law and running round with the kids. Christmas was fantastic. We are really looking forward to New Year and looking forward to 2018.”

Meanwhile, he added that the royal family was the “family that, I suppose, she’s never had”.

Harry also said that there were “plenty” of traditions he had to explain to Meghan, but she “did an “absolutely amazing job of getting in there”.

Skip forward eight years, and things couldn’t look more different for Harry and Meghan this Christmas.

The royals didn’t attend the festive celebrations at Sandringham this year, something they haven’t done since 2018.

The couple likely spent Christmas in Montecito, California, with their two kids, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.

Last week, Harry and Meghan released a stunning family photo with their children to mark the holidays.

The photo showed Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet stood on a bridge over a stream of water.

Harry stands tall and looks down, as Archie has his arms wrapped around his dad’s waist. Meanwhile, Meghan bends down to her daughter’s height as Lilibet holds onto her mum’s hands. You can see it here.

Meghan Markle sent Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick a “wonderful note of gratitude” following his help over her late dog, Guy.

The Duchess of Sussex heartbreakingly announced the death of her beloved beagle, Guy, earlier this year.

But, some years ago, Meghan and Prince Harry called on Noel for some help with Guy.

Back in January, Meghan paid tribute to the pooch, who had been by her side through her acting career in Suits, her marriage to Prince Harry and her early years of motherhood.

Sharing a montage of adorable photos, the duchess wrote: “In 2015, I adopted a beagle from a dog rescue in Canada. He had been at a kill shelter in Kentucky and given a few days to live. I swooped him up….and fell in love. They referred to him as ‘the little guy’ because he was so small and frail, so I named him ‘Guy’. And he was the best guy any girl could have asked for.”

‘I have cried too many tears to count’

She went on to explain: “He endured a terrible accident shortly before I moved to the UK which had him undergoing surgeries for several months and unable to leave the clinic. Doctors said he would never walk again, but Dr Noel Fitzpatrick said he could do it. H and I would drive late at night, after hours, to see Guy as he recovered in Surrey for months on end.”

“I will always be grateful to Noel and his team, the team at Queen West Animal Hospital in TO, our vets now, and my friends and community: Thank you for loving him so,” she added.

Meghan concluded her message: “I have cried too many tears to count – the type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they’re not there. But they are. And that’s okay too.

“Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you’ll never know.”

‘The duke and duchess sat on the floor’

Noel Fitzpatrick, who rose to fame on his Channel 4 Supervet series, has now opened up about his experience with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their dear dog back in 2017.

He told The Times: “Meghan rang me from Canada, where she was living at the time, to say Guy, her beagle, had escaped and had been found with two busted wrists. Would I operate? I agreed and she brought him over. The duke and duchess sat on the floor. We had cake. Guy was fixed.”

I had a wonderful note of gratitude from Meghan, which was sweet.

Noel went on to reveal: “He lived until January this year and I had a wonderful note of gratitude from Meghan, which was sweet.”

Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales, will have a “special” Christmas this year after moving into Forest Lodge.

The Prince and Princess of Wales moved into Forest Lodge, located in Windsor Great Park, in recent weeks. They previously lived at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor Home Park.

The new house has been described as the Wales family’s “forever home”.

Prince William and Princess Kate to enjoy ‘special’ Christmas period at Forest Lodge home

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has told the Mirror: “This will be a special year for the family in their new home, Forest Lodge. Putting up Christmas decorations is always exciting, but decorating a new house is doubly so.

“I’m sure they’ll also be putting up decorations at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, but I wonder whether they will spend a bit more time than usual in their Windsor home during the school holidays? It must still be fresh and new to them.

“I doubt whether William and Catherine will be able to resist the temptation to spoil them, just as all young parents enjoy spoiling their children, if they are fortunate enough to have the money.”

George, Charlotte and Louis’ Christmas gifts

It’s unclear what George, 12, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, seven, will get for Christmas.

But according to Jennie, she thinks George will be “hoping for some more video games”.

Putting up Christmas decorations is always exciting, but decorating a new house is doubly so.

Meanwhile, she thinks Charlotte will “probably be happy with anything sporty”.

As for Louis, Jennie reckons he’ll be “very enthused about the trampoline, so maybe a small indoor trampoline would go down well”.

So cute!

King Charles is expected to host the royal family at Sandringham again this year. It’s a tradition he’s continued after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Royal family’s Christmas at Sandringham

Festivities at Sandringham have happened within the royal family for many years.

On Christmas Day, they step out in Norfolk to attend church and to greet locals who have gathered.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to attend with their three kids. It’s unclear which other royals will attend.

Meanwhile, on December 25, the king’s Christmas speech will broadcast. Again, it’s a tradition he has taken over from his late mother.

Prince William is reportedly warming to the idea of welcoming Prince Harry back into royal family life. Next year will mark six years since the royal moved to the US with Meghan to start life as a non-working royal.

The news comes after Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was stripped of his royal titles.

Prince William agrees to accelerate ‘Bring Harry Back’ campaign

Speaking to The Mirror US, a former royal insider has claimed that William and Charles have been discussing the possibility of bringing Prince Harry back into the royal fold.

The insider, ex-Palace photographer Ian Pelham Turner, has claimed that William is “warming” to the idea now that Andrew is out of the picture.

“My feeling at the moment is because of Charles’s cancer diagnosis that all these negotiations perhaps, for example, with Harry have been accelerated,” he told the outlet.

The ex palace photographer then speculated that William and the king have sat down to negotiate their terms and expedite the “Bring Harry Back” campaign.

Harry to return to royal fold?

Turner continued.

“So I think why all of this has happened now is that William has been placated about Harry coming back into the fold by getting rid of Andrew. There seems to be accelerations at the moment,” he then said.

“One acceleration is bringing Harry back. And the second acceleration is getting rid of Andrew,” he then added.

Royal Insider has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.

Kate urges Harry to ‘come back home’ for one-on-one meeting with William

The news comes amid reports claiming Kate Middleton has urged her brother-in-law to return to the UK to meet with William.

The Princess of Wales is reportedly of the opinion that a one-on-one meeting between Harry and William could be the only way forward after years of tension.

“Kate is trying to keep a bridge open for Harry before it’s too late. [She’s] tried everything to get William to soften… but there’s just no moving him,” a source told Heat.

Sources allege that Kate has taken on the role of peacemaker behind closed doors. She has reportedly been urging Harry to return to the UK without Meghan on his next trip. This will reportedly be seen as a gesture of independence and goodwill.

“Her hands are tied. In the spirit of being practical, she’s urging Harry to come back without Meghan. As proof that he’s his own man and not joined at the hip. She believes it’s the only way he can start rebuilding his reputation in William’s eyes,” the source then continued.

“Kate’s probably the only person who can speak to Harry honestly without him getting defensive. [He] trusts her and listens to her in a way he doesn’t with anyone else,” they then added.

Harry has previously spoken very highly of Kate, calling her the “sister I never had” in his autobiography, Spare. 2026 will mark six years since Harry moved to the US. Will it also mark his return to the royal fold?

King Charles and Prince Harry appeared playful in a resurfaced clip amid the monarch’s birthday.

The king turned 77 on November 14. He spent the day in South Wales with his wife, Queen Camilla. A new portrait of Charles on the Sandringham Estate was also released.

Now, marking Charles’ birthday, a body language expert has looked back at an old clip of Charles with his youngest son, Prince Harry.

Even though their relationship has become strained over recent years, the throwback clip is a reminder of how close they once were.

King Charles and Prince Harry’s ‘playful’ moment at wedding

In April 2005, Charles and Camilla married in a civil ceremony at the Windsor Guildhall.

Harry and older brother, Prince William, were of course in attendance. One moment after the ceremony, Harry, who now lives in California, is seen throwing confetti over the newlyweds.

According to body language expert Darren Stanton, Harry looked “clearly overjoyed to be part of the celebration”.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren said: “You can see Prince Harry in the background, looking really animated and full of energy as he throws confetti. His expression is open and genuine, his smile is broad, and the movement of his body shows a kind of carefree joy.

“It’s the kind of moment that captures him at his most relaxed and playful.”

Charles and Camilla’s ‘genuine joy’

Darren went on to describe Charles and Camilla’s reactions to Harry’s antics.

He said: “You also catch a glimpse of King Charles smiling, which is lovely to see. Even though the quality of the footage is a little grainy, his expression looks very warm and Camilla is beaming throughout.

It’s the kind of moment that captures him at his most relaxed and playful.

“Her smile is particularly striking because it’s so natural, complete with crow’s feet and laugh lines: classic indicators of a genuine, heartfelt smile.”

He continued: “What stands out most is the atmosphere of ease and happiness. Despite being a more understated wedding compared to other royal occasions, the body language tells the story: everyone seems genuinely delighted.

“Harry’s behaviour in particular is full of that mischievous, cheeky energy he was known for in his younger years; playful, a little irreverent. But clearly overjoyed to be part of the celebration.”

Meanwhile, Darren branded the moment “uplifting”.

He said Harry’s body language radiated “elation and a sense of fun, while Charles and Camilla’s smiles show contentment and genuine joy”.

He added that it painted a “picture of a very happy family moment”.

When it comes to birthday gifts, it seems King Charles has a particular request. According to his former butler, Grant Harrold, the king likes gardening gifts.

Grant told Express: “He would always ask for things for the garden. He’s previously asked for benches, plants and trees. Gardening is his real passion.”

Paddy McGuinness has discussed the moment he shared a cheeky kiss with Prince Harry on a night out.

It reportedly took place in 2016 and also saw Harry take Paddy’s top off after doing Jägerbombs at a bar!

During a recent appearance on The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast, Paddy recalled a night out nine years ago in which he encountered Prince Harry.

Speaking with Niall Horan and footballers Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes, Paddy revealed that a night out during training for Soccer Aid 2016 took a turn when Harry turned up.

“I think 2016, we went to, we had a night near the hotel, I think it was called Jak’s. We were down there, just what you were saying about the World Cup winners and what have you. I’ll never forget, we all had a few drinks, and we are all in there, and I don’t know why, [Jamie] Carragher decides to have a dance off against [retired Brazilian footballer] Cafu,” he revealed.

“But that was the same night I got a tap on the shoulder and I turn around… Prince Harry!” he then said.

Paddy and Harry’s night out

Paddy then continued, saying: “He goes, ‘I wanna go to Fernando’s.’”

Fernando’s was the fictional island where winning couples were sent from Paddy’s dating show, Take Me Out.

“I’m going, for a second, I’m going, ‘That’s [bleeping] Prince Harry… It’s Prince Harry!’ And he then, like, gets hold of me, puts the lips on me, and then starts having a dance off,” Paddy said.

“I am now having a dance off with [bleep] eighth in line to throne. He takes my T-shirt off, which at the time, I’m holding my stomach in, and then just disappears and that were that… just a random night,” he then said.

Niall chimed in, saying: “I remember actually staring and you just looked at me like, ‘What the [bleep] just happened?”

‘I’ve seen some things’

Paddy went on to reveal that he was clutching a beer in both hands while boogying with the prince.

“I remember Niall going, ‘I’ve seen some things in my time, but that was [bleeping] up there,” he said.

Paddy had previously opened up about the story in his autobiography, My Lifey. In it, the comedian wrote about how Harry had bought himself and Niall some Jägerbombs and treated Paddy to a “smacker on the lips”.

“To say we were dancing close was an understatement – our chests were touching. He asked me again if I could send him to Fernando’s,” Paddy wrote. “He then proceeded to take my shirt off. So now I’m topless, a bottle of beer in each hand, dancing with Prince Harry.”

That year, Harry met his now-wife Meghan Markle. So he didn’t need a trip to Fernando’s in the end!
