  • Prince William thought former Prince Andrew was an ‘ignoramus’ before King Charles took action: author

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Prince William had a few choice words about his disgraced uncle before his father, King Charles III, took action.

The claim comes from Russell Myers, royal editor of the Daily Mirror and author of the new book “William and Catherine,” which examines how the Prince and Princess of Wales have weathered the storms that have rocked the House of Windsor.

Myers told Fox News Digital that palace aides had sounded the alarm about former Prince Andrew’s behavior before his relationship with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein came to light.

“It was very clear to me, made by several people I’d spoken to for the book, how William thought his uncle was always a bit of an ignoramus,” said Myers.

“He had a real issue with the way that Andrew treated his staff,” he shared. “He didn’t like his attitude of entitlement and privilege. This is very alien to both William and Catherine.

“They are very centered on producing really sound and enjoyable working environments for the people who are employed by them. They’re very respectful of the people that they work with. You just have to look at the amount of time that people stayed and worked within their household.”

Myers noted that tensions between William and Charles intensified after Andrew gave a bombshell interview to the BBC in 2019, where he attempted to explain his friendship with Epstein.

“After that disastrous 2019 interview Andrew gave to the BBC’s ‘Newsnight,’ in which he failed to apologize for his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, … William had the foresight to say, ‘This man must not have any place within the institution, any place within the family. He must be banished because he got himself into this mess, and he must be banished before the rot sets in.’”

“That’s what he told the late queen and his father at the time,” Myers claimed. “… [Andrew] failed to apologize for his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. He failed to acknowledge the real impact on Jeffrey Epstein’s victims and really gave a very bad account of himself. … I think it was six years later before King Charles finally took that action of stripping his title, stripping his honors and exiling him from public life.”

Charles ascended to the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 2022. Myers noted the monarch faced mounting pressure from the public and William to address “the Andrew problem” swiftly.

“You’re also seeing investigators building cases from a catalog of allegations that have followed Andrew,” said Myers.

“And even though he’s denied all the allegations that have been put in front of him, we only have to look at what is happening now. Multiple police forces are investigating a catalog of claims and allegations relating to his misconduct.”

“I think if William had had his way, then certainly the royal family would’ve been able to be on the front foot many years ago,” Myers added.

Fox News Digital reached out to Kensington Palace for comment. A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace previously told Fox News Digital, “We don’t comment on such books.”

Royal commentator Meredith Constant told Fox News Digital that before Andrew’s scandals, Charles and his heir didn’t always see eye-to-eye on how the monarchy should be managed.

“When the queen died, there were people in the palace afraid of how the public would receive Charles,” Constant explained. “There have been calls since William was a child for Charles to step out of the way in favor of King William’s reign sooner. The idea, after the queen’s death, that Charles and William were in ‘lockstep’ was largely invented.”

“Charles wants to bring the monarchy into the 21st century, while still respecting the pomp that comes with the job,” said Constant.

“Despite battling cancer, King Charles led the pack in the number of royal engagements for 2025, with 533, versus William with 202. Prince William envisions a monarchy where he takes on fewer causes but does more behind the scenes for maximum impact.

“Like a politician running for office, William has the advantage of saying, primarily through sources, what his reign will look like and what he would do differently. The difference is, he’s not running for office. He was predestined for the role.”

Royal experts told Fox News Digital that tensions between father and son reportedly led to disagreements over how to address Andrew and the fallout from his scandals.

“William and Charles differ on the handling of Andrew,” said Constant. “Charles has always felt some responsibility for his brother, especially after his mother died. William is a lot less forgiving of his uncle and thought Andrew should be cut out much earlier, ‘before the rot sets in.’

“Right now, the Andrew situation is with the police and the U.K. government, so father and son will want to stay out of the way while presenting a united front. It doesn’t help either one of their interests to appear fractured at the moment.”

“The reality is, we don’t know what William would have done if he were already king,” she noted. “Perhaps he would have diverged from his father, but we’ve also seen areas where William has followed suit despite promising a different strategy, like his relationship with the British media.”

“The image presented of William as a global statesman, charting a new path, modernizing the monarchy, is a bit at odds with some of what we’ve seen,” she pointed out. “That doesn’t mean he can’t be that changemaker king.”

According to Myers’ book, William challenged his father directly about Andrew following the queen’s death. However, the Prince of Wales was “very much put in his place,” said a source. While William didn’t agree that Andrew’s exile should be limited, he didn’t provoke his father any further.

Myers also noted that, for years, William questioned Andrew’s worth in the royal household, asking, “What does he actually do?” Myers claimed that while William has a close relationship with his cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, William was horrified by how Andrew behaved in front of staff, “ordering people out, the aggressive or dismissive manner.”

Whenever Andrew faced new allegations involving Epstein, William would “implore the king to act,” urging for his uncle’s title to be stripped and to finally banish him for good.

“The Prince of Wales was adamant the whole episode would never go away and, despite how others may have felt, that there was absolutely no upside in Andrew being protected,” a palace source close to William told Myers.

“His view was crystal clear: Andrew shouldn’t be anywhere near the family under any circumstances, not by association, not at family functions, anywhere. Every single time there was a new revelation, which no one knew when it was coming or what the next one would be, it was a stain on all of the family.”

Myers wrote that when Charles attempted to coax his brother out of his 30-room mansion, where he lived with his ex-wife, Andrew was “in no mood to move” and told the king he was “going nowhere.”

  • Prince William’s environmental charity reported over partner’s Epstein ties

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Prince William’s Earthshot Prize is facing scrutiny after its founding partner was linked to Jeffrey Epstein in the latest Department of Justice files release. However, one expert says it’s “a bit of a stretch” to suggest the Prince of Wales received funding for his charity through any connection to Epstein.

Although William is the face of Earthshot Prize — which is a global environmental prize that is awarded to five winners each year for their contributions towards environmentalism — he recruited partners before launching the organization in 2020.

One of those partners is DP World, and their CEO, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, was named in the latest batch of Epstein files.

William has not been named or implemented in the Epstein files. Representatives for Buckingham Palace and Earthshot Prize did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

On Wednesday, William’s Earthshot Prize was reported to the Charity Commission by the anti-monarchy group Republic. In a press release, the organization clearly shared an email Epstein wrote Sulayem while serving his prison sentence in Palm Beach, Florida in April 2009.

Ian Pelham Turner, a royals expert, told Fox News Digital that he believes the Republic is using Sulayem’s ties to Epstein to dissolve the royal family entirely.

“I think it is a bit of a stretch though to suggest the Epstein debacle that Sultan Ahmed donated money through this connection. The money has now been donated to the prizewinning recipients in a proper manner and so I feel Republic is seeking any mud to stick to the Royal family to maximize their strategy that the Royal family should be a thing of the past and dissolved,” Turner said.

He added, “How will William handle this with the Charity commissioners simply by producing evidence to the contrary.”

Republic shared that DP World donated a minimum of $1.3 million to William’s charity. “The seriousness of this matter requires a full and comprehensive investigation,” Republic wrote in their release.

Republic’s CEO Graham Smith issued a statement in the release, clearly stating that “William has lots of questions to answer about what he knew about Andrew and Epstein.”

“And now he must explain his relationship with Sulayem,” his statement continued.

“In the context of this widening scandal, we need answers.”

    — Graham Smith, Republic’s CEO

“It is not credible to believe the Foreign Office, security services or other advisors were not aware of Sulayem’s character and would have been able to advise accordingly. These files have been in the hands of U.S. authorities for years. It’s not believable that such intelligence would not have been shared. Earthshot has a duty to do due diligence, to ask questions about donors and where money is coming from. Did they do that here? If so, did William overrule their better judgment?” Smith said.

He concluded with: “In the context of this widening scandal, we need answers.”

Hilary Fordwich, British royals expert, pointed out to Fox News Digital that William and his wife Kate Middleton have already shared that they “have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations.” A spokesperson for the couple shared a statement with the BBC on Monday after the recent revelations in the Epstein files.

“Their thoughts remain focused on the victims,” the spokesperson concluded.

“This is a clear indication of Prince William’s leadership skills, getting out in front of this issue, doing what is right, which is to be focusing on the plight of victims,” Fordwich concluded.

The public statement came amid renewed scrutiny surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former prince and Duke of York who was stripped of his royal titles by King Charles III in October, and his relationship with Epstein.

  • Ex-Prince Andrew entangled in Epstein’s ‘House of Horrors’ triggers new nightmare for Prince William: experts

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s entanglement in Jeffrey Epstein’s “House of Horrors” has become a nightmare for King Charles III and his heir, Prince William, who are desperately trying to distance themselves from it.

The disgraced former royal appears in three newly released photos from the latest batch of files made public by the Department of Justice in connection with the investigation into the convicted sex offender.

In the images, the ex-Duke of York is seen on all fours above an unidentified woman lying on her back. The woman is fully clothed in all three photos, and her face is blacked out.

“There used to be a very famous series in the U.K. called ‘Hammer House of Horrors,’” royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital. “Now we are seeing the modern-day equivalent of the ‘House of Horrors’ with the image of Andrew on all fours, sending both King Charles and Prince William into apoplexy.”

“Prince William must be thanking God that he has taken on a new troubleshooter fixer to try and distance ‘The Firm’ from further ridicule,” Turner added.

Inclusion in the files does not necessarily imply wrongdoing. Still, the optics are deeply damaging for an already frustrated king and the Prince of Wales, multiple royal experts told Fox News Digital.

Two of the photos, released Jan. 30, show Andrew crouched on the ground with his hand resting on the woman’s stomach as he looks down at her. A third shows him on his knees with his hands on either side of her body, looking directly at the camera.

British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital that William, 43, is reportedly “furious” that a tougher stance has not been taken against his disgraced uncle.

“William believes Andrew is obliterating the monarchy’s good work, and it’s become vulnerable to the stream of bombshell revelations,” Chard explained. “King Charles had wanted to keep his brother close by. However, I believe William will put his foot down and prevent his uncle from moving so close to his family.”

“This latest file drop is explosive for three big reasons,” said Constant. “First, we have photos of Andrew on all fours over a young woman. Denying this is a lot harder than denying you’re the ‘Invisible Man’ in email exchanges.

“There’s a second alleged victim who says she was flown to the U.K. to engage in sex acts at Andrew’s home, Royal Lodge. There are also the 2010 emails from Andrew seemingly arranging a dinner with Epstein and some young women at Buckingham Palace, where they will have ‘lots of privacy.’”

“It is inconceivable that no one saw or heard anything pertinent to an investigation. The king’s strategy has been swiftly pulling titles, distancing himself from Andrew while bringing his nieces further into the royal fold. That speaks of self-protection, not transparency or true accountability for Andrew, who has denied all allegations against him.”

“Prince William was smart to hire a PR crisis expert,” Constant noted. “He won’t want the stain of his uncle following him into his future reign.”

“This is what the palace has long dreaded. It has been impossible to be proactive as they don’t know what is coming next, and they do not act for Andrew. This is likely to continue for a considerable time, with thousands of images and emails to be sifted through. It will get worse.”

Andrew announced in October that he was giving up his royal titles, and the palace confirmed later that month that the king had “initiated a formal process to remove the style, titles and honours of Prince Andrew.”

The decision followed Andrew’s initial step back from public life in 2019 after his BBC interview, in which he discussed his relationship with Epstein, who died that year.

Andrew was accused of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most prominent accusers. Giuffre filed a civil lawsuit alleging she was forced to have sex with the disgraced duke three times, including when she was 17. The case was settled out of court in 2022, with Andrew admitting no wrongdoing.

  • Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis ‘rekindled’ her marriage to Prince William: expert

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s marriage has been tempered and strengthened by the Princess of Wales’s battle with cancer, according to royal experts.

In March 2024, Kate, 43, revealed that she had been diagnosed with an unspecified type of cancer and shared that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy. Kate revealed that she was cancer-free in September 2024 and confirmed in January 2025 that her cancer was in remission.

Former royal photographer Ian Pelham Turner noted that the couple had previously endured tabloid speculation about alleged marital difficulties. However, he told Fox News Digital that Kate and William’s relationship appears to be stronger than ever after facing her health struggles and other family challenges.

PRINCE WILLIAM SAYS ROYAL FAMILY BLINDSIDED AS CANCER ‘PULLED THE RUG FROM UNDER OUR FEET’ IN RARE INTERVIEW

“There were ongoing rumors at one time that the marriage between William and Kate may not have been as blissful as publicly portrayed,” Turner said.

Turner pointed out that Kate’s illness may have served as a powerful reminder for William of how central she is to his life and revitalized the emotional connection between the pair, who have been together for more than two decades.

“William has been known for his outbursts and Kate has found ways of calming the situation down but personally, I feel after the cancer diagnosis and the threat of losing her, the closeness was rekindled,” Turner said.

“And that is why decisions were made such as their quieter living accommodation rather than a palace to try and lead a normal family life have become their focus,” he added.

In November, William, Kate and their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — relocated to their new home at Forest Lodge, nestled in Windsor Great Park, according to The Telegraph

The family previously lived at Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate after moving from their residence at Kensington Palace in 2022. However, Kate and William were reportedly seeking a fresh start after Adelaide Cottage became associated with some of the most challenging years of their lives.

In addition to Kate’s cancer battle, the family weathered other difficult times while living at Adelaide Cottage, including the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022 and King Charles II’s own cancer diagnosis. Charles announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment in March 2024, one month before Kate shared the news of her diagnosis.

PRINCE WILLIAM WON KATE MIDDLETON BACK AFTER SPLIT WITH SECRET ROMANTIC MOVE: ROYAL INSIDER

“Adelaide Cottage was a place of pain, suffering and sadness. After such rough times, it’s perfectly understandable they would want a new place,” royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith told People magazine in December.

The outlet reported that the couple plan to make Forest Lodge their “forever home” and will continue living at the eight-bedroom residence even after William ascends to the throne. The move would be a break with tradition as Buckingham Palace has previously served as the official royal residence.

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich shared Turner’s view that William and Kate’s bond has been strengthened after overcoming hardships together.

PRINCE WILLIAM EAGER TO DITCH OUTDATED ROYAL CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS AS KING CHARLES RESISTS THE CHANGE: EXPERT

“Adversity either destroys a marriage or brings couples closer after shared adversity. Certainly, their marriage has resulted in the latter not the former,” she said. “They never stoop down to ghastly gossip, which is most admirable.”

Fordwich also noted that William and Kate’s move indicated they had reassessed their priorities as a couple and a family in the wake of their struggles.

“With their move to Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park, everything there has been seen, by those who know, is really focused primarily on their family stability as well as ever treasured privacy,” she said.

British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital that Kate appears to be intentionally focusing on connections, both privately and publicly.

“She is keen to strengthen family bonds and create meaningful relationships,” the royal expert said. “Her commitment to family, community and charitable work resonates with this theme of togetherness. Proof is in the pudding with her personal relationship with her husband. Their relationship is flourishing.”

In September, the duo visited the Natural History Museum in London and joined King Charles, Queen Camilla and other working royals for official engagements during President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump’s state visit.

In November, William and Kate returned to the red carpet for the first time in two years when they attended the annual Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Last month, the Prince and Princess of Wales participated alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla in welcoming President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender to Windsor Castle during their state visit.

Since the couple have been stepping out together more frequently, many royal observers have noted that they seem more open and affectionate during public appearances than in the past.

William and Kate’s warmth and closeness was on full display during their November red carpet appearance. In clips that went viral, the prince was seen briefly kissing Kate’s hand as they stepped out of their car before the event while Kate was photographed looking adoringly at her husband.

Chard explained that the couple’s public displays of affection appeared to be a sign of their resilient partnership following Kate’s health challenges.

“William is offering an increased emotional openness and Catherine’s gratitude for William’s support during her cancer treatment, their shared experiences navigating turbulent times and their current fresh start has deepened their relationship,” she said. “They enjoy a close bond.”

Royal commentators have also pointed out that William has become increasingly transparent when speaking out about the personal challenges he and his family have faced in recent years. Experts have noted that William’s candor marks a shift from the past, when senior royals typically kept private family matters out of public discourse.

In November 2024, William opened up about enduring a “brutal” year while speaking with reporters during a trip to Cape Town, South Africa.

“But I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done,” William said. “But, from a personal family point of view, it’s been, yeah, it’s been brutal.”

During an interview with Brazilian TV host Luciano Huck in November, William shed some light on how he and Kate have approached discussing tough topics including her cancer diagnosis with their children, admitting that “every family has its own difficulties and its own challenges.”

Fordwich told Fox News Digital that the couple’s actions indicate that their marriage has emerged from Kate’s cancer journey closer and more emotionally connected than before.

  • Prince William eager to ditch outdated royal Christmas traditions as King Charles resists the change: expert

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Prince William wants to modernize Christmas at the palace.

The claim was made by royal commentator and broadcaster Neil Sean, following reports that the Prince of Wales wants to eliminate what some consider a dated royal holiday tradition once he becomes king.

“Every year, the royals truly let their hair down and show off their sense of humor while having a gentle dig at each other out of the gaze of the public domain,” Sean told Fox News Digital.

“Every Christmas Eve, the famous trestle table is set up, and depending on your seniority, you go up and get your Christmas present. These are £1 and £5 joke presents, an idea started by Queen Elizabeth II.”

“According to this recent report, William wants to get rid of it because he believes it’s forced,” said Sean.

“But the report is wrong. What William wants to do is include more participation from palace staff, where they could mingle. My sources tell me William enjoys the informal gatherings hosted by Princess Catherine’s family and wants to move in that direction — more family-oriented, less formal, and less about seniority.”

In addition to getting palace staff more involved with the festivities, the father of three is reportedly pushing to overhaul yet another longstanding royal ritual.

“Another tradition that is up for discussion is the famous Christmas Day walk to church,” said Sean.

“It is well received and loved by all, according to the source. William thinks this also needs a radical rethink. He does not necessarily like being on display on what he views as a private and sacred day.

“However, while sometimes clashing with King Charles, he understands the public’s wish to see the royal family informally. For the king, however, it’s important to interact with the public who give up part of their Christmas Day to meet the royals.”

The king, 77, isn’t the only one who is in favor of keeping the annual Christmas walk with the family.

“According to my source, this is one area that William and Catherine don’t necessarily agree on,” Sean claimed, noting that the Princess of Wales shares the same mindset as her father-in-law.

“But like with so many things, it is all up for discussion in the future of the monarchy under King William.”

British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital that William, 43, has an issue with the “hierarchical nature” of distributing gag gifts among the royals at Christmas. Inspired by his wife’s family, he’s said to be eager to introduce a more informal celebration when he becomes king.

“He rejects this sort of pecking order,” Fordwich explained. “He isn’t comfortable with rigid class distinctions in general, which is consistent and a common theme regarding everything he touches. He wants his courtiers to feel less stiff, but he does his utmost to balance the monarchy’s pageantry while updating it to keep a degree of mystique.”

“An example of this is that staff at the Duchy of Cornwall are no longer expected to wear ties during his visits, conveying a more casual atmosphere,” she said. “At Adelaide Cottage, he’s fine with children running in and out. He’s already relaxed formal protocols of mandatory bowing and curtseying, making interactions more relatable — and as natural as meeting a future king can be.”

“He’s all for less pomp, more purpose,” Fordwich added.

Sean said that, moving forward, William hopes to make the royal tradition of exchanging gag gifts more relaxed and inclusive, rather than tied to the hierarchy within the line of succession.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that there’s no doubt the tradition, revamped or not, is here to stay.

“If the royals did not give each other joke gifts, it would be a joke,” Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital. “If those who have everything, or appear to, waste money on expensive presents, it would be ridiculous. It was once quipped that the tradition of joke gifts was ‘Dickens in a Cartier setting.’”

“They do like to have fun,” said Bullen. “The presents they give to each other are normally quite silly. If you’ve got all the greatest jewelry in the world, all the greatest works of art in the world, all the greatest clothes in the world, what would you give each other for Christmas? It tends to be small joke presents.”

“Do you know what a whoopee cushion is?” Bullen chuckled. “I’ve heard that they’ve been given in the past. I’ve heard that silly bath toys [were also] given in the past. Whether it’s true or not, I don’t know. But slightly rude, slightly funny, slightly on-the-edge presents are of the order of the day.”

Kate Middleton met with World War II veterans on Veterans Day, which is known as Armistice Day, at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, with one 100-year-old former service member telling her he credits staying fit for his long life.

The man, Bill Redston, told the Princess of Wales he ran the London Marathon when he was 65 years old and the New York Marathon a year later, according to video posted to social media by PA reporter Stephanie Wareham.

  • Prince William was shut down by King Charles after family struggles left him ‘shaken to the core’: book

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Prince William allegedly wanted to cut back on royal duties in 2024 but was urged by his ailing father to “think again,” according to a new book.

The claim was made by royal biographer Robert Jobson in “The Windsor Legacy,” obtained exclusively by the U.K.’s DailyMail. According to the outlet, the British journalist said William was “shaken to the core” by the dual cancer diagnoses of his father and wife, Kate Middleton. Still, King Charles III denied his request.

Fox News Digital reached out to Kensington Palace for comment. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson previously told Fox News Digital, “We don’t comment on books.”

Jobson also wrote that both William and Kate “became more religious” as they quietly dealt with the tumultuous year.

“Never known as a regular worshipper, William now attends church more frequently than in the past, though as privately as possible,” Jobson wrote.

Several royal experts told Fox News Digital that William struggled in 2024, supporting his father, his wife and their three children while taking on more royal duties as heir to the throne.

“It proved to take a toll on him,” said British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard, who described the year as “brutal” for the prince, 43.

“He struggled to keep everything on track,” she said. “The fact that he spoke to his father regarding the workload showed strength and a caring side. He needed a breather to bounce back and give his all to the monarchy. He should be applauded for his honesty and for recognizing he needed a moment to step back.”

According to Jobson’s book, the king had been “typically stoical about his mounting levels of pain” before being diagnosed with cancer. A senior royal told Jobson that the condition “had worsened so dramatically” that a doctor was summoned.

“The king was given morphine (one of the strongest painkillers available), fitted with a catheter and taken to Aberdeen Hospital,” Jobson claimed. “The cancer, however, was not discovered until a few months later, in January last year, while doctors were in the process of treating the king for an enlarged prostate.”

In early February 2024, Buckingham Palace announced the king had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer and had begun treatment. The palace said “a separate issue of concern was noted” during Charles’ treatment for an enlarged prostate.

Then, in March 2024, Kate announced she also had cancer. Jobson described the news as a “malign twist of fate” for William.

“William’s desire to reduce engagements was actually more about the strains he was coping with — supporting Princess Catherine during her health challenges, the emotional demands of young children and, on top of that, his duties as heir to the throne,” British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital.

“Everything he does is in service of others. Given his sense of duty, this is one of the many reasons he remains at the top of the popularity polls here in the U.K.”

“He’s extremely determined to protect his family while modernizing the monarchy,” Fordwich said. “He knows the future of the monarchy depends on his approval ratings, so he’s under considerable pressure. It was really causing him significant stress.”

Jobson noted that while there’s “an underlying tension” between father and son over their work ethics and views on tradition, they “generally work well together.”

“The king happily consults him and largely trusts him to do what is right,” wrote Jobson.

Still, it “doesn’t help that both have a fiery temper that’s not always held in check. Working for Charles, some staff members say, can be like ‘treading on eggshells.’” And about Prince William, Jobson wrote that senior aides know “to tread lightly around the prince, mindful of his mood swings before attempting to raise sensitive issues.”

Chard said that while William and Charles “are on the same page,” the prince is known to take “a harder line than his father.”

“He is decisive and resolute,” she said. “He doesn’t suffer from analysis paralysis or suffer fools and quickly moves on. There’s no overthinking or kid gloves when initiating change. Instead, he has a can-do, hands-on, collaborative approach to his work. He has a knack for rallying his team and instilling optimism. And let’s not forget, as heir to the throne, he has a long working road ahead as king.”

Kate announced she was in remission from cancer in January of this year.

Jobson wrote that William had urged his father to slow down and listen to his medical team as the king, 76, continues treatment. Palace aides also said the monarchy has become “more emotional.” Charles has been “reduced to tears,” overwhelmed by the thousands of letters he’s received from around the world wishing him well.

Fordwich said William is focused on strengthening the monarchy for his reign.

“Prince William is determined to avoid ghastly controversies and wants to bury the scandals which have so detrimentally distracted the focus from public duty,” she said. “He really wants a totally clean break from his despicable uncle Andrew. He’s steadfast and is being strategic with everything he’s doing to ensure the monarchy’s survival.”

“I’d say 2024 was the hardest year I’ve ever had. You know, life is sent to test us, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are,” said William.

“Officers responded to concerns for a man on the roof of a building in Cockspur Street, Westminster at 23:02hrs on Thursday, 30 October,” a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told Fox News Digital.

“The man sadly fell from height. Despite the best efforts from the London Ambulance Service, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His death is being as unexpected but non-suspicious.”

He reportedly fell from the posh Trafalgar St. James Hotel. The fall was about 100 feet, according to People magazine.

Duncan, 45, who appeared on reality shows like Britain’s “Big Brother,” attended University of St. Andrews in Scotland at the same time William and Middleton were there and began dating.

He was an acquaintance of the couple while they were at St. Andrews and was one of the first people to know they were an item, according to the Daily Mail, which was first to report the story.

He was also at the school’s infamous student fashion show during which Middleton reportedly caught William’s eye when she walked the runway in a sheer dress.

Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — have officially moved into their new home.

The Prince and Princess of Wales moved to Forest Lodge, nestled in Windsor Great Park, according to The Telegraph. The family moved during the school half-term, the outlet reported.

A representative for Kensington Palace did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

In August, Fox News Digital learned that two families living near the royal family’s new eight-bedroom property were asked to vacate ahead of their move.

“Close neighbors have been surprised to be ordered to leave their properties so that no prying eyes can see the Prince and Princess with their children,” royal expert Ian Pelham Turner claimed to Fox News Digital.

A “well-connected source” previously told the U.K.’s Daily Mail that the families “were not expecting it.”

“They were told to move out,” the insider claimed to the outlet. “I guess they were given somewhere else, but they were told they had to move. They were not expecting it.”

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams previously told Fox News Digital that the families were asked to relocate due to “security reasons.” He stressed that the residents are still allowed to stay on “Crown Estate Land.”

In addition, the move has sparked privacy and safety concerns.

Residents of Cranbourne Hall Residential Park, the nearest neighborhood, are worried that the new home will be less private than the four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage.

  • King Charles ‘saddened’ after Prince Harry accuses insiders of deliberate sabotage: expert

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

King Charles III is said to be “saddened” after Prince Harry appeared to accuse palace insiders of sabotaging peace talks.

A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex denied reports that the prince’s recent meeting with his father left him feeling like an “official visitor.” A statement sent to People magazine read: “The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son.”

“Prince Harry’s counterproductive statement definitely caused disappointment for King Charles III, who was rather surprised and saddened,” British royals expert Hilary Fordwich claimed to Fox News Digital. “It overall makes future peace talks harder and reaffirms Prince William’s skepticism.”

PRINCE HARRY FIRES BACK AT ‘CATEGORICALLY FALSE’ REPORTS OF A TENSE REUNION WITH KING CHARLES

On Sept. 27, 2025, a spokesperson for Prince Harry (center) issued a statement to People magazine that read: “Recent reporting of The Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false. Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged.” (Karwai Tang/WireImage/Getty Images)

Fordwich’s comments came shortly after the Times of London reported the palace had been left “perplexed” by Harry’s statement. According to the outlet, friends of the king were “disappointed” by the news.

“The reality is that senior aides have been working behind the scenes to improve what is a delicate but important private family relationship,” a royal source told the outlet.

On Sept. 27, a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex pushed back on reports that described his Sept. 10 reunion with the monarch as “distinctly formal.”

“Recent reporting of the Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false,” the spokesperson told the outlet. “… Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose the gifts that were exchanged.”

“While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity, we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over. However, the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess,” the spokesperson added.

Fordwich said courtiers and senior aides worked “discreetly and delicately” to help ease tensions between father and son.

The Sun initially reported that Harry was “surprised” by the formalities of the recent reunion and “joked” that he felt more like an “official visitor.”

Following Harry’s spokesperson denying the report, a spokesperson for The Sun told People: “In his statement, Prince Harry confirms the exchange of gifts, including a family photograph. The office of the Duke of Sussex was given full right of reply yesterday in advance of publication and opted not to give a response to The Sun’s carefully sourced account of the meeting. We have today updated the online article to include his new statement.”

British broadcaster Helena Chard said Harry’s statement could cause more harm than good during a sensitive period in his attempt at reconciliation.

“The Harry debacle is turning into … a reality show,” she claimed. “It only reiterates the narrative that Harry cannot be trusted. Without trust, there will be no peace talks, just a few short meetings between father and son.”

According to the Times of London, Harry has made no secret of his belief that the “men in grey suits” at the palace conspired against him, just as they once did against his late mother, Princess Diana. The outlet cited his 2023 memoir, “Spare,” where the father of two accused three courtiers he called “Bee, Wasp and Fly” of acting to force him out of his royal role.

“I’d spent my life dealing with courtiers, scores of them,” he wrote, as quoted by the outlet. “But now I dealt mostly with just three, all middle-aged white men who’d managed to consolidate power through a series of bold Machiavellian maneuvers.”

However, the unseemly briefings about what happened when they met for under an hour make another meeting unlikely in the near future.”

Harry has been estranged from his family since he and his wife stepped back as senior royals in 2020 and moved to California. Following their exit, the couple aired their grievances in interviews and documentaries. The royal’s memoir, which exposes embarrassing details about the House of Windsor and his sibling rivalry, worsened tensions.

In July, the U.K.’s Daily Mail reported that Harry had quietly extended an olive branch by offering to share his official schedule of engagements. The outlet said this was meant to ease tensions with the king.

Prince William’s representatives were noticeably absent from the so-called “peace summit,” and the future king’s team was reportedly not notified of the secret meeting. Royal experts previously told Fox News Digital William and Harry are not on speaking terms.

Prince William sees Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson as a “threat” — and this time, his father is backing him up to freeze them out.

The claim was made by royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, who said King Charles and his heir finally see eye to eye on how to handle their ongoing “Andrew problem.”

“The king does have empathy as Andrew is his brother, but William sees the couple as a threat to the monarchy,” Fitzwilliams claimed to Fox News Digital.

“The king welcomed Sarah Ferguson at Christmas out of sympathy for her illnesses and to give his beleaguered brother some slack,” he explained. “That’s no longer the case. The king will reportedly insist on a lower profile.”

“Prince William is focused on protecting the monarchy’s future and its public image, wanting Andrew completely frozen out,” British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital. “He has been lobbying behind the scenes for more decisive measures, possibly pursuing the full removal of Andrew’s titles and formal roles — and even parliamentary action once he becomes king.”

Fitzwilliams and Fordwich’s comments came shortly after sources close to the king, 76, told the U.K. Times he will not welcome the Duke and Duchess of York during the holidays this year.

According to insiders, Charles said he would keep the couple “at arm’s length” after it was revealed that Ferguson maintained ties with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein despite publicly denouncing him in 2011. The outlet also reported the king prefers the pair to remain “invisible.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace for comment.

“Prince William takes a far more appropriate approach to future-proofing the monarchy,” Fordwich said. “The king’s reluctance has been on full display. His hesitation has been seen publicly as naïve and risky, eroding faith in the monarchy.”

“Andrew isn’t going to behave. The king can’t remove his brother, so they need to manage him since his presence is an existential threat,” said Fordwich. “Prince William supports a clean break and has reportedly considered banning Andrew from all official events.”

Palace insiders told Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl that William is “keen” to resolve what some palace circles have called the “York problem.”

“It’s something that William is acutely aware of and wants resolved,” a family friend told Nicholl. “Charles is not a confrontational person and doesn’t want any more family feuds, but he recognizes that his brother poses challenges. William takes a harder line and has made it clear that he thinks his uncle and aunt could cause the monarchy real reputational damage.”

“My prediction is that over the next few months, we’ll see more overt moves from William,” Fordwich said.

Andrew Lownie, author of “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,” told Nicholl that Charles and William had disagreed on what to do. His book takes a deep look at the Duke and Duchess of York’s ties to Epstein.

“I’m told William’s view is that his father needs to take a firmer line with Andrew,” Lownie claimed to Nicholl.

William, as future king, will have to deal with the fallout from this. He wants this problem solved and has no sentimental attachment to Andrew. He has no time for Andrew, and he can see how toxic the Yorks are.”

Last week, Ferguson was dropped as a patron for several charities after leaked emails showed she once called Epstein a “steadfast, generous and supreme friend.” A representative for Ferguson, 65, did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

“I know you feel hellaciously let down by me from what you were either told or read, and I must humbly apologize to you and your heart for that,” Ferguson allegedly wrote, as reported by the U.K.’s Daily Mail.

“I was advised, in no uncertain terms, to have nothing to do with you and to not speak or email you, and if I did, I would cause more problems to you, [Prince Andrew] and myself,” she continued. “I was instructed to act with the utmost speed if I were to have any chance of holding on to my career as a children’s book author and a children’s philanthropist.”

In a statement to The Guardian, a representative for Ferguson said she stands by her public condemnation of Epstein.

“Like many people, she was taken in by [Epstein’s] lies. As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly, to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with pedophilia,” the statement read. “She does not resile from anything she said then. This email was sent in the context of advice the duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats.”

“King Charles moved ahead with the soft, kid-gloves approach,” she said. “It hasn’t worked. He has no choice but to take Prince William’s hard-line stance. William has no time for his uncle or for Fergie. He wants them banished — or at least kept out of sight, out of mind.”

Friends of the duchess told the U.K. Times she was “devastated by the embarrassment” from the email scandal and “will explain herself to the wider royal family in due course.”

“The king is not of the mind to banish someone worshipping at church or attending family occasions like a funeral,” said the source. “But he would hope they would find a more discreet way of attending these events. In the Duke of York’s case, he seems to relish the prospect of not being low-key about it.”

It’s a major blow for Ferguson, who was brought back into the royal circle after the king’s ascension in 2022. Since becoming king, he has welcomed her to royal gatherings.

She also expressed her wish to do more public work for the royal family, telling the outlet, “I wish they’d ask me to do more.”

According to a spokesman for the duchess, she sent the email after Epstein threatened to “destroy the York family” during a “Hannibal Lecter-style” phone call. Ferguson was said to be “mortified” and had been advised that taking a personal approach to Epstein could end his legal threats.

But the damage is done. Ferguson’s children’s book, which was scheduled to be published next month, has been postponed until next year. Actress Natalie Dormer, who plays the duchess in an upcoming ITV drama, has also pulled out of promoting the show. Instead, she is donating to charities for abused children.

The Daily Mail reported that Ferguson is at risk of losing her honorary “Freedom of the City of York” title. The City Council will consider the move before its November meeting.

Andrew lost the same title three years ago. He stepped back as a senior royal in 2019 due to his controversial ties to Epstein.

“The Epstein circle of shame and intense scrutiny will continue,” Chard warned. “Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s mere association with Epstein has brought public humiliation and damage to not only their reputation but that of the monarchy’s, too. This is a long-term scandal that I believe is here to stay. This scandal will do irreversible damage to the monarchy if Andrew and Sarah are continuously seen out and about with the royal family, whether in private or not.”

Epstein was found dead in his New York jail cell weeks after his 2019 arrest. The American financier, 66, was awaiting trial on U.S. federal sex trafficking charges involving dozens of teenage girls and young women, some as young as 14. Investigators ruled his death a suicide.

Epstein’s former girlfriend, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted in 2021 of helping lure teenage girls to be abused by him. The 63-year-old is serving a 20-year prison sentence.

  • Prince William candidly admits to ‘the hardest year I’ve ever had’ during rare TV interview

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Prince William admitted that 2024 was the “hardest year” he’s ever experienced.

The Prince of Wales will make a rare TV appearance on a special episode of Eugene Levy’s series, “The Reluctant Traveler.” The episode is titled, “Living the Royal Life in the UK,” which hasn’t been an easy task for William over the past year.

In a preview clip for the episode, which airs Oct. 3, William sat down for a pint of beer with Levy and opened up about the challenges the royal family has faced recently, including Kate Middleton and King Charles’ cancer diagnoses.

“I’d say 2024 was the hardest year I’ve ever had. You know, life is sent to test us and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are,” William said.

In March 2024, Middleton shocked the world when she made her cancer diagnosis public. In January, she shared that, after chemotherapy, she was in remission.

“I’d say 2024 was the hardest year I’ve ever had. You know, life is sent to test us and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are.”

In November, while in South Africa for his Earthshot Prize event, William opened up about the pain the past year had on the royal family.

“It’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.

“But I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. But from a personal family point of view, it’s been, yeah, it’s been brutal,” he said during a media interview, according to Reuters.

  • Prince William won Kate Middleton back after split with secret romantic move: royal insider

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Prince William was determined to win Kate Middleton back for good.

In 2007, the couple got back together after their headline-making split earlier that year. And on Valentine’s Day 2008, the now heir to the British throne was eager to show his former flatmate that he was in it for the long haul.

Grant Harrold, King Charles III’s former butler who served a romantic dinner for the pair, has written a memoir, “The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life in Royal Service.” The etiquette expert told Fox News Digital that William wanted to prove to Kate that he was “serious” about their relationship’s future.

“When they got back together, it was fresh, it was like a double boost,” said Harrold. “They both were making more of an effort. … [They had] this romantic dinner for Valentine’s Day, which they asked me to do, which they had never done before. They hadn’t done anything like that before. Suddenly, they wanted to do that. I felt that [William] was saying, ‘Look, I’m serious. This is going to up a level.’ That’s what I felt.”

“And, of course, a few years after that, they carried on,” Harrold shared. “It was almost like a reset button, but this was serious. The first time around, it was boyfriend-girlfriend, ‘Oh, let’s eat here, let’s chill here, let’s do that.’ Suddenly, it was a bit more, ‘I’m serious, and I’m going to show you I’m serious.’ That’s how it came across, which was amazing.”

William and Kate first went public with their relationship in 2004. Over the years, Harrold suggested to William and Kate that they have a formal dinner where he could serve them. The couple “laughed it off,” telling Harrold that they didn’t want too much fuss. But leading up to Valentine’s Day 2008, William suddenly approached Harrold one day and said, “OK, let’s do a dinner, if you’re happy to.”

Harrold told Fox News Digital he was delighted to help the lovebirds enjoy a cozy dinner at Highgrove House, the royal family’s country retreat. William and Kate had been back together for nearly six months at the time and were “closer than ever.”

Harrold admitted he was “really gutted” after William and Kate initially called it quits.

“I got to know her from the early days as much as I knew William and got on with both of them,” he explained.

“From a selfish point of view, I always thought, ‘It’s going to be so cool when they get married and eventually become the Prince and Princess of Wales because I was there in the early days.’ … I wanted them to be the perfect royal couple. So, when they split up, I think the first I knew of it was, well, she disappeared. We didn’t see her. And then I started hearing the news reports.”

“I didn’t say anything to William because … the whole thing was just awkward,” Harrold admitted. “But she had disappeared, and I hated it. And a few of the household members, we spoke about it. We all thought it was quite sad.”

In his book, Harrold wrote that he was “absolutely gutted” when William and Kate broke up. He had befriended Kate and felt she was a perfect match for the prince. Still, Harrold noted that the press scrutiny Kate experienced in the early days of her courtship with William was “awful.”

Few people knew they quietly got back together before it hit the news.

When it came to Valentine’s Day, Harrold wanted to help William make it extra special for Kate.

“I felt truly honored and delighted that William had taken me up on my offer,” he wrote. “Even though it was a typically chilly February evening, we planned for it to be outside the main house, at the top of the Thyme Walk, the stunning avenue of clipped golden yew and herb bushes bound on two sides by a pleached hornbeam hedge that leads down to the lily pond at the bottom.”

“What a far cry it was from the previous summer when, at a big party held in the Orchard Room (the large venue across from Highgrove, which was perfect for hosting private and public events), I’d seen Kate standing on her own with no one talking to her,” Harrold continued.

“It was a time when she and William had just gotten back together, but at the party, no one was taking any notice of her. Not everybody was aware they were back together, so some people didn’t know whether to speak to her or not.”

“When you think of the stunning, elegant princess she blossomed into, it was possibly the last time she could have been at an event and remained anonymous,” he added.

It was easy to see that Kate was “the one” for William, said Harrold.

“I could see qualities that she’d be very good at royal duties. You could see she was very focused. She was very good at keeping him right. … When he used to go off and do stuff, she would give him the once-over and give him encouragement. I’m thinking that’s amazing because that’s exactly what I imagine you want your future wife to be like.”

Kate also had qualities that reminded Harrold and other members of the royal household of a beloved royal, Princess Diana.

They always say you marry the mother from the man’s point of view. … I didn’t know Diana, but what I’ve been told and what I’d seen of her … you’d see that shyness, that softly spoken voice, and a very elegant, gentle way of doing things. And the public had taken to her the same way they did with Diana. … Thankfully, history is very different this time around.”

“Obviously, it’s sad what she’s gone through, which is awful for her,” he said, referring to Kate’s recent cancer battle. “But it’s also given her even more support openly from the British public, the Commonwealth, and other countries. Even though it’s horrendous for her to go through this … it’s shown her the love there is for her. … I think Diana’s support came from the divorce. That’s where she got a lot of support. But for Kate, she’s getting support through her health battles.”

Kate and William’s enduring bond also reminds Harrold of the late Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip. The Duke of Edinburgh, described by the monarch as her “strength and stay,” spent more than seven decades supporting his wife.

“The love, the companionship, the support, the working relationship, the friendship — it reminds me of the Queen and Prince Philip,” he said. “[And Kate’s] very much the fairytale that we thought we had back in 1981 when Prince Charles and his then Princess of Wales [got married]. Once again, we have a Prince and Princess of Wales that everybody loves.”

The Princess of Wales made heads turn as she arrived alongside her husband Prince William.

For the evening, Kate wore her favorite showpiece, The Lover’s Knot tiara. It was commissioned for Queen Mary in 1913 from Britain’s House of Garrard, Vogue.com reported. It features diamonds and 19 hanging drop-shaped pearls, all set in silver and gold.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of “My Mother and I,” told Fox News Digital the royals love to showcase their jewels during state banquets.

“… They drip in jewels,” said Seward. “They absolutely drip with jewels. It’s the one time they could really show off their jewelry.”

The true centerpiece of the state visit was the banquet in St. George’s Hall at Windsor Castle. The Waterloo Table — about half the length of a football field — can seat up to 160 guests. The Associated Press reported it takes five full days to set the table, which holds more than 4,000 pieces, including 200-year-old silver.

Chef Darren McGrady, a royal chef for 15 years who cooked for five U.S. presidents, told Fox News Digital that the menu gives a heartfelt nod to Queen Elizabeth II. One of the desserts that will be savored included a bombe glacée cardinal — a vanilla ice cream featuring Kentish raspberry sorbet and lightly poached Victoria plums.

“Bombes were served at maybe 70% of all state banquets,” he said. “It’s an ice cream where we use an old Victorian copper mold. The queen loved to have ice cream at state banquets, so we often served it. She also loved a bombe glacée royal, which is mint ice cream with chocolate. The queen loved chocolate.”

The king’s mother isn’t the only matriarch being honored during the state dinner. The royal menu also showed that, after dinner, guests would be served a Hennessy 1912 Cognac Grande Champagne from the president’s mother’s birth year.

In addition, a 1945 vintage port, closest to the year of the president’s birth year, will be served. It’s noted that ports are not made every year. Guests will also enjoy American red wine and English sparkling wine.

In 2019, The New York Times reported one of Trump’s earliest memories, which he often shares, was seeing his mother, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump, enthralled by Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953.

British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital the menus are written in French, a tradition dating back to the 11th century.

“This practice symbolizes sophistication,” she shared.

Dishes such as organic Norfolk chicken ballotine and quail egg salad highlight locally grown ingredients from the royal family’s estate. A cocktail created for the occasion — the Transatlantic Whisky Sour — blends Johnnie Walker Black with citrus marmalade and is topped with a toasted marshmallow on a star-shaped biscuit.

No U.S. president, or any other world leader, has ever had the honor of a second U.K. state visit, The Associated Press reported. The festivities involved 120 horses and 1,300 troops — including the largest guard of honor in living memory.

  • Kate Middleton to play ‘pivotal role’ at President Trump’s historic state visit: expert

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Prince William and Kate Middleton are expected to play a major role in representing the future of the monarchy during President Trump’s state visit.

In July, Buckingham Palace announced that the 79-year-old and his wife, first lady Melania Trump, would pay a state visit to the U.K. from Sept. 17-19. King Charles III will host the couple at Windsor Castle.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital that the Princess of Wales will be a key player as she supports the monarch and her husband, heir to the British throne. British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard agreed, telling Fox News Digital that everyone is in good spirits knowing Kate will “play a pivotal role during the state visit.”

“It marks a pivotal moment in putting Catherine on the world stage,” he said. “It marks a turning point with Catherine making more high-profile appearances during this state visit, which is of the utmost importance to Britain, adding an extra special cachet.”

“Hopefully, it will not be too long before the Waleses can go on tour abroad,” Fitzwilliams said. “This is something that will be of enormous interest worldwide.”

Trump is the first U.S. president to be invited for two state visits by a British monarch. The late Queen Elizabeth II hosted him and Melania Trump in 2019 during his first administration. William and Kate also took part in that visit.

The Trumps are expected to arrive at Windsor Castle on the morning of Sept. 17, where they will be officially greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales. William and Kate will then accompany them to meet King Charles and Queen Camilla.

As the king and queen formally welcome the president and first lady, a royal salute will be fired from the East Lawn of Windsor Castle and the Tower of London. Then Trump and Melania will join Charles and Camilla, as well as William and Kate, in a carriage procession through the Windsor estate toward the castle.

“This unprecedented state visit is brilliant for U.K. and U.S. relations,” British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital.

“William and Kate’s increased prominence isn’t at all by accident. It is carefully curated, highly intentional, and aims to cement their significance not just in the U.K. and U.S.’s special relationship, but the entire future stability and international importance of the monarchy.”

“The couple’s role is going to be highly visible and majorly significant,” Fordwich continued. “It’s glamorous symbolism reflecting their rising prominence with increased royal duties following the Princess of Wales’ recent health battle. They will be present for all the pageantry at Windsor Castle.”

On Sept. 18, the princess and the first lady will appear at Frogmore Gardens to meet Chief Scout Dwayne Fields and members of the Scouts’ Squirrels nature-based program. Kate, 43, who was a Brownie as a child, has been joint president of the Scout Association since 2020.

The royal engagement hits close to home for Kate. Fitzwilliams pointed out that Kate had previously cited nature as a source of support while she was undergoing treatment for cancer last year. In January of this year, Kate announced she was in remission.

“William and Kate are working extremely hard to create value for the monarchy, especially in light of King Charles’ health,” said royal expert Ian Pelham Turner.

“Kate seems to be enjoying life again after battling cancer,” he said. “She’s now smiling happily at functions, bringing rays of sunshine to all she meets.”

Chard noted that Kate is hailed as the jewel on top of the House of Windsor’s crown.

“Princess Catherine is keen to continue royal duties with strength and purpose, ensuring that everything runs smoothly,” she said. “Her joint appearance with Melania Trump is sparking great interest. She will keep Melania busy, happy, and entertained.”

One of the many highlights of the state visit is the glamorous state banquet, which will take place on Wednesday evening. Around 150 guests are usually invited based on their cultural, diplomatic or economic links to the country being hosted. Both the king and President Trump are expected to deliver speeches at the beginning of the dinner.

“There will definitely be a tiara moment for Catherine at the state banquet,” Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of “My Mother and I,” told Fox News Digital.

“Usually, the royal ladies will quite often wear [what they call] state dresses, which are cream or white — very beautiful,” said Seward. “It shows all their royal orders, which are the ribbons you see across. … [These are] orders given to them by the late queen.”

“They will [also] bring out all the best jewelry,” Seward shared. “I suspect that Catherine will wear quite a lot of the late queen’s jewelry. She usually does. She … sometimes wears a watch of the queen’s, a bracelet, and a necklace. And obviously a tiara. She — they drip in jewels. They absolutely drip with jewels. It’s the one time they could really show off their jewelry.”

As we see Kate shine in the spotlight, royal watchers can also expect William to play an elevated role in supporting his father. Charles was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in 2024.

“Some view King Charles as a ‘caretaker king,’” Chard explained. “His years of experience are an invaluable learning curve for the Prince and Princess of Wales. Their hosting duties and high-profile appearances are set to increase. They are happy to be an integral part of this state visit, determined to continue strengthening U.K. and U.S. relations.”

“Prince William feels honored that President Trump admired the late Queen Elizabeth, his grandmother, whom he also revered,” Chard continued.

“That respect is shared between both men … Their good connection was evident at the ceremonial reopening of the Notre-Dame Cathedral. … Fabulous soft power at play and genuine camaraderie can only mean the special relationship between both nations is set to get stronger.”

Michelin Will Announce Chicago, D.C., and New York Stars in December

    [ad_1]

Chicago restaurants must wait until December to learn if they’ve earned a Michelin star. Like last year, the tire guide will bundle announcements for Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. at a private party held in New York.

Michelin will announce on Monday, December 9 at a ceremony held at the Glasshouse in New York. Last year’s announcement came in November, and the big news was Smyth joined Alinea as the only two restaurants in Chicago will a full three Michelin stars. Daisies also received a Green Star which recognizes a commitment to environmental sustainability. There is some irony as the tire company created the guide to encourage car travel.

Twenty-one Chicago restaurants have Michelin stars, one of the highest restaurant honors. But in recent years, local tourism boards have been attracting the Michelin Guide to their cities to help boost travel. Some have questioned whether this waters down the honor. The bib gourmands, a designation that recognizes value for the money, will also be announced.

The guide has been rating restaurants in Chicago since 2011. The guide arrived in New York in 2005 and in D.C. in 2017. The guide is in eight American markets: California, Florida (Miami/Orlando/Tampa), Colorado, Atlanta, and Texas. It’s also in Toronto, Vancouver, Mexico, and Quebec.

    A fundraiser for Northern Thailand

Northern Thailand has been in crisis with floods and typhoons. The government ordered evacuations, shelters were set up, and hundreds of animals needed rescue. Waters have since receded, but aid is still required. NaKorn, an upscale restaurant that opened in 2016 in suburban Evanston, is holding a fundraiser dinner to help the community. Proceeds from the Sunday, October 20 event will benefit underprivileged children and families in Thailand. There are two seatings and reservations are available via OpenTable.

    Goose Island’s Rare Day

Goose Island Beer Co. won’t hold its annual Propreitor’s Day, an event that celebrates the Chicago-area-only release of a Bourbon County Brand Stout variant. It’s the one packaged in a blue box and the flavors change every year. Instead, Goose has unveiled a replacement centering around another variant: Rare Day. The event will take place on Saturday, November 16 at the Goose Island Barrel House. There were two sessions, but the early session has already sold out. Tickets for the $160 event are on sale via Oznr.

  • For Halloween, Pretty Cool Ice Cream Will Transform Into a Scoop Shop

For Halloween, Pretty Cool Ice Cream Will Transform Into a Scoop Shop

    [ad_1]

Before Dana Salls Cree opened Pretty Cool Ice Cream six years ago in Logan Square, she assumed she’d open a scoop shop. As pastry chef at One Off Hospitality Group’s Publican and Blackbird, she became well known for her unique ice cream flavors. She turned that passion into a book, Hello, My Name Is Ice Cream: The Art and Science of the Scoop, published in 2017.

Her plans for a scoop shop changed after a pastry chef friend made machines that make ice cream bars available for sale. Salls Cree found herself attracted to this “new uncharted creative territory.” She turned her attention toward specializing in handmade ice cream bars, ice pops, and other creative cold treats

“I went in thinking I would open a scoop shop that brought the recipes in my book to life and instead I found the door to Pretty Cool,” says Salls Cree.

Halloween presents a unique opportunity for Pretty Cool Ice Cream. Restaurants have embraced Halloween costumes in recent years. Le Bouchon, the beloved Bucktown French restaurant, dressed up as the Olive Garden last year. In 2015, Wieners Circle in Lincoln Park dressed up as McDowell’s, a fictional McDonald’s rip-off featured in the movie Coming to America.

For the holiday, Salls Cree will dress her two pop shops up as scoop shops inspired by her book. On Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27, Salls Cree will fulfill her dream when Pretty Cool’s two locations offer eight flavors of ice cream chosen from recipes in her book. To get into the Halloween spirit, the Pretty Cool employees will be dressing up in Hello My Name Is Ice Cream shirts. Pops will still be available for those two days.

“Every Halloween we rename ourselves something spooky and offer holiday treats, but I always thought it would be cool if the shop itself dressed up in costume,” Salls Cree says. “Well, what does an ice cream shop dress up as? A different ice cream shop.”

While a long time in the making, this isn’t the first time Salls Cree has offered her ice cream for sale. Back when she worked for One Off, she would make a limited series of Hello My Name Is Ice Cream pints and sell them at Publican Quality Meats. The Fulton Market cafe and butcher shop was where a lot of the recipes for her book were developed.

It was also around that time that Salls Cree discovered she had celiac disease, a diagnosis that put her pastry-making career in jeopardy. While she admits she probably always had the disease, it was when she started sharing kitchen space with the company’s bread-making production that her symptoms became intense. “It was the first time I was in the flour cloud that a bread bakery generates and that pushed me over the edge,” she says. There was a silver lining. “It also pushed me into ice cream.”

All the Halloween ice creams are gluten-free as are the cones. Salls Cree and her team sat down with her book to talk about what flavors they wanted to make, focusing on composed scoops — “the real showstoppers,” she says, rather than the single flavor recipes. Once the eight flavors were chosen — mint chocolate chip cookie dough; chocolate peanut butter brownie crunch; gooey butter bake; pumpkin butterscotch pecan; rainbow sherbet; kids play (goat cheese); lemony lemon crème fraiche; and cookies, cookies, and cream — the ingredients were ordered and the team got busy.

The ice cream will be $6 a scoop, and $7 for a split scoop. Anything left over from the 5,000-scoop production will be available for sale in pints at the shops. Salls Cree’s award-winning book will also be available for sale.

“As much I love everything that we make, I miss making scooped ice cream so much,” says Salls Cree. “There’s this whole world of flavors and textures that I developed and have worked with that we don’t get to dabble in because we don’t do scooped ice cream. This is our chance to bring some of that into our repertoire even if it’s just for a short period of time.”

And should there be enough public demand, well, Salls Cree isn’t opposed to the idea of a scoop shop that’s open throughout the year, not just on Halloween.

Pretty Cool Ice Cream Halloween scoop shop pop-up, Saturday, October 26; and Sunday, October 27 at 2353 N. California Avenue in Logan Square and 709 W. Belden Avenue in Lincoln Park.
