Nonetheless, its box office revenues reached only Rs 263.6 million (263.6 million rupees). The movie was later launched on Prime Video, where it garnered substantial viewership.

    Maa

    This paranormal movie featuring Kajol premiered on June 27th. Netflix reported that the movie earned Rs 36.8 crore. Nonetheless, following its launch on Netflix, it turned into a success and garnered positive responses from viewers.

    This movie, which is part of Vivek Agnihotri’s Files trilogy, hit theaters this year. The narrative is grounded in real occurrences.     Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Jr NTR, Hrithik Roshan starrer War 2 were two of the most-awaited films of 2025. The two films were out in theaters on the same date, August 14, 2025. The Independence Day weekend provided an additional boost to the box office runs of the two movies. However, within a week of their release, the movies appeared to be registering different figures at the box office. And out of the two, the Tamil film has won the battle.     Coolie box office collection

    The Rajinikanth film has remained ahead of War 2 since day one of its release at the box office. The Tamil megastar has a huge fan base, and their love for him has been seen at the ticket counter. According to Sacnilk, to date on day 8 (today), the movie has made Rs 1.64 crore at the box office.

    The film comes with heavy star power, combined with Anirudh Ravichander’s songs and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s track record, making it hold the lead position for War 2 at the box office.

    Even with the support of a large production house and being a part of an enormous spy world, the movie could not engage the audience.

    According to Sacnilk, up till day 8 (today), the movie has minted Rs 1.38 crore at the box office. Now, the overall collection of the action-adventure amounts to Rs 200.63 crore.

    Coolie vs War 2 box office day 8: A week has passed since the release of Rajinikanth and Hrithik Roshan’s Coolie and War 2 respectively, and they have not exceeded box office expectations. At the domestic box office, both films surpassed the Rs 200 crore milestone. Considering the films’ enormous budgets, they are finding it difficult to maintain momentum, particularly in light of Saiyaara’s successful example.     According to Sacnilk, the film collected over Rs 6.15 crore on its day 8, bringing its total theatrical earnings in India to Rs 229.65 crore. Starring Rajinikanth and helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the action thriller opened to a huge box office reception. In its first four days of release, the movie’s box office receipts skyrocketed, but after that, the pace slowed.

    The poor plot of War 2, which stars Kiara Advani, Jr. NTR, and Hrithik Roshan, is the reason why viewers are not very interested in it. Even though the Ayan Mukerji-directed movie made a healthy start at the box office, its revenue fell to single digits on weekdays. According to Sacnilk’s report, the movie earned Rs 5 crore on day 8, making the domestic total to Rs 204 crore.

    Rajinikanth plays the main lead in the film. Simon, the main antagonist, is portrayed by Nagarjuna. The actor previously said in a statement that the movie has received a huge amount of positive feedback. Breaking records felt inevitable, and he called Coolie a “celebration of legacy and reinvention.” Aamir Khan makes a surprise appearance in the film, which also stars Shruti Haasan, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir.

    Ayan Mukerji is the director and Yash Raj Films is the producer of War 2, the sequel to the 2019 movie War, which is said to have a budget of Rs 300–400 crore. In addition to Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Anil Kapoor play important parts in the film. “Things get complicated when Kabir Dhaliwal, a secret agent, is accused of betraying his nation and his former batchmate Vikram is assigned the task of finding him,” stated film database platform IMDb while describing the plot of the film.

    Much like Hollywood, even the Indian Film Industry is slowly and steadily transitioning into the model of franchises and IP’s. In 2019, Siddharth Anand directed Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in War and four years later, he directed Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in Pathaan. Siddharth Anand was entrusted by Aditya Chopra to lay the platform for two franchises for the mighty YRF Spy Universe, and the filmmaker has given two of the biggest IP’s to Indian Cinema with War and Pathaan.

    The success of the two films have beautifully led itself towards a demand in the audience for War 2 and Pathaan 2, which should get into the making stage sooner or later, expanding the YRF Spy Universe further. Back in 2019, the Siddharth Anand directed War raised the bar of action in Indian Cinema with action set pieces not seen before on the screen. The introduction scene of Hrithik Roshan is still the talk of the two, followed by the single take action sequence introducing Tiger Shroff. Sid over the years has created the knack of presenting the stars as stars, giving them the requisite positioning of a larger-than-life hero among the audience.

    The same can be said for Pathaan too, as every frame of the film presents and celebrates the aura of Shah Rukh Khan.     The spice of any franchise rests in the character, and today, there is an urge among the audience to see more of the characters – Kabir, Khalid, Pathaan, Jim and Rubai – directed by Siddharth with the creator of YRF Spy Universe, Aditya Chopra. A great man once said, ‘it’s not a story that’s franchise-able, but it’s always the character,’ and the presentation of any character depends on director’s conviction. Interestingly, pandemic also couldn’t get the better of Sid, as he is the only one two direct an outright blockbuster before the pandemic with War and after the pandemic with Pathaan. ‘Stardom is like an arrow and it’s on the archer to hit the bullseye,” said SS Rajamouli once, indicating the stardom will always do its work provided the director knows how to utilize it. Slow and steady, Sid has surely gotten into zone of directing superstars in the zone that fans can identify with. War… Pathaan… and next up is Fighter.. Sid is definitely ready to fly even higher in the days to come.
