U.S. Polo Assn. Launches Iconic Legends Campaign and Targets Billion-Dollar Opportunity in India

    [ad_1]

International Sports Power Brand Activates New E-Commerce Site Alongside Campaign

U.S. Polo Assn., the official brand of the United States Polo Association, and Arvind Fashions Ltd. (NSE:ARVINDFASN), aka Arvind, are proud to announce two major business milestones in India: the iconic Legends marketing campaign and the new U.S. Polo Assn. website launch. Both business strategies have been designed to help take U.S. Polo Assn. in India to the next level, reaching the company’s new target to be a billion-dollar power brand in the country.

According to a recent United Nations report, India has overtaken China as the world’s most populous nation. In fact, according to the report, India’s population is expected to reach 1.428 billion, compared to China’s 1.425 billion. The U.S. Polo Assn. brand’s popularity in India has only grown with the population, making India prime to be the global brand’s fastest-growing market. The tremendous growth in popularity and ultimately market share is not without effort, which includes a strategy focused on both brick-and-mortar and e-commerce, as well as overall brand marketing through storytelling.

As one of India’s leading casualwear power brands, the multi-billion-dollar, global, sport-inspired U.S. Polo Assn. brand has launched an exclusive brand-specific website USPoloAssn.in to further enhance digital offerings for customers and provide easier access to its product offerings. U.S. Polo Assn. is the first brand in the Arvind Fashions Limited family of businesses to go live with an exclusive brand website. Previously, the brand was listed on all leading online platforms and NNNow, the official brand store and digital destination for Arvind Fashions Limited.

“Arvind has been a tremendous partner to the U.S. Polo Assn. brand, and we are excited about our future as a power brand, targeting a billion-dollar business over the long term in one of the world’s most important markets,” said J. Michael Prince, President and CEO of USPA Global Licensing, the company that manages and oversees the U.S. Polo Assn. brand. “The execution of our strategic plan in India will further solidify our position as one of the top casual menswear brands in the country.”

USPoloAssn.in will carry the entirety of the brand’s product offerings across menswear and kidswear. The website will also feature the brand’s footwear and innerwear collection, as well as the newly introduced USPA womenswear line.

The newly launched website will be hosting the “Legends Forever Play Together” campaign, featuring Arjun Rampal and Milind Soman, the ‘legends of the modeling industry’, and Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhuphati, the ‘legends of tennis.’ The campaign, while celebrating their legendary stature, also shows these icons reminiscing about their fondest memories of where their journey began.

Legends further showcases themes of fashion, style, and nostalgia, as well as bonding between the stars, while presenting the cool and sporty factor of the brand. In the multi-channel campaign, the Legends can be seen sporting the all-new Autumn-Winter ’23 Collection from U.S. Polo Assn. The collection features timeless classics with a modern twist, such as polos, denim, oxfords, sweaters, jackets and tee shirts.

The multi-billion-dollar, global brand’s presence has also exploded in India, having successfully launched new identity stores, featuring modern décor, an all-white interior, and authenticity through elements of the sport of polo, like polo-themed accessories and game broadcasts, for which the brand is based. U.S. Polo Assn. even launched five stores simultaneously on Sept. 17, 2022, in the city of Bengaluru, Arvind’s corporate headquarters.

“U.S. Polo Assn. is an example of ‘phygital’ retail, where we are blending the best of digital and physical channels to enhance both and deliver the best customer experience, ultimately enabling enhanced omnichannel engagement,” said Shailesh Chaturvedi, Managing Director and CEO, Arvind Fashions Ltd. “The combination of the very special and iconic Legends Campaign, the exciting new website and our revamped stores will now allow U.S. Polo Assn. to immerse consumers in our unique brand story across all major touchpoints.”

Currently, the brand’s retail footprint in India is at more than 400 brand stores, and over 2,000 shop-in-shops, across more than 200 cities in India. Globally, the U.S. Polo Assn. brand is in 190 countries and has global retail sales of more than $2.3 billion.

“This launch comes at the right time as the market is multi-branded and continues to grow, while customers want to engage more with great brands,” said Amitabh Suri, CEO of Arvind’s U.S. Polo Assn. Division. “U.S. Polo Assn. has a strong retail presence with more than 400 brand stores across India. And when it comes to online presence, U.S. Polo Assn. has been the top casualwear brand across all leading online e-commerce platforms, making it clear there was great demand in the market to launch the new brand website.”

The event was sponsored by world-renowned Il Borro wine, alongside Champagne Partner, Taittinger, and Sammontana Gelati. Last but not least, specialty Porsches with the red, white and blue U.S. Polo Assn. logo were on site, representing “horsepower,” exhibited and sponsored by Centro Porsche Firenze.

“I had a vision for this night in the beautiful Giardino Torrigiani. Our goal was to express our brand in a very special way to our guests through the collaboration of fashion, art, sports and music. We achieved this expression with great success,” said Lorenzo Nencini, Incom CEO and U.S. Polo Assn.’s Italian apparel partner, who was appointed and serves on the 2023 Pitti Immagine’s Board of Directors.

The event’s hosts were Nencini and J. Michael Prince, the President and CEO of USPA Global Licensing, the company that manages and oversees the $2.3 billion dollar U.S. Polo Assn. brand across 190 countries, including Italy. Alongside Prince and Nencini were U.S. Polo Assn. Italian partners Augusto Bonetto, CEO of Bonis; Andrea Zini, CEO of EastLab; and Franco Zuccon, CEO of Eurotrade.

“The U.S. Polo Assn. Pitti VIP event was an opportunity to share our brand message to ‘Live Authentically’ and bring inspiration to our very special guests,” said J. Michael Prince, President and CEO of USA-based USPA Global Licensing, the company that manages and oversees the U.S. Polo Assn. brand. “This was a very special night that I won’t soon forget, and I imagine our guests feel the same way.”

“Lorenzo and I are grateful for the many partners, employees and sponsors that made this such an extraordinary and successful evening,” Prince added.

The VIP event followed U.S. Polo Assn.’s outstanding presentation of its vibrant, sporty Spring-Summer 2024 Collection from June 13-16 at Pitti Immagine Uomo at the iconic Fortezza da Basso in Florence, celebrating the brand’s heritage in the sport of polo since 1890. 4ocean and U.S. Polo Assn. Renew Global Ocean-Positive Sustainability Partnership Goal to Remove 150,000 Pounds of Trash from World’s Oceans

    [ad_1]

4ocean, a purpose-driven B Corp with a mission to end the ocean plastic crisis, in partnership with U.S. Polo Assn., the official brand of the United States Polo Association (USPA), are pleased to announce the extension of their partnership. The two entities have committed to removing 150,000 pounds of trash from the world’s oceans through the 4ocean Pound+ Services, now through 2024.

4ocean and U.S. Polo Assn.’s partnership began in early 2021 and successfully led to the removal of 60,000 pounds of plastic from the ocean, rivers, and coastlines. The two organizations worked together during that time towards ocean-positive sustainability with the help of 88 crew members and seven ocean vessels, with most of the waste being pulled in Indonesia across six specific beaches. This year’s goal more than doubles the previous year’s accomplishment.

“I’m stoked about the extension of our partnership with U.S. Polo Assn. and their commitment to increasing the amount of trash and plastic they pull,” said Alex Schulze, co-founder of 4ocean. “It’s inspiring to see a company take such a proactive approach to sustainability that will have a measurable impact on the ocean. U.S. Polo Assn. committing to 2.5 times the amount of trash and plastic they pulled last year is a bold move, and I’m excited to see the results of this initiative.”

Schulze added, “We are proud to be part of this effort and look forward to continuing our collaboration with U.S. Polo Assn. and other partners to make a positive impact on our ocean.”

This meaningful partnership is a component of U.S. Polo Assn.’s overarching sustainability initiative USPA Life, which works towards improving the impact of our business on the environment. The USPA Life initiative also offers a global and growing selection of apparel, footwear, and accessories with sustainable attributes.

“U.S. Polo Assn. has been taking a global and holistic approach to our long-term sustainability journey with initiatives like our 4ocean partnership and USPA Life,” said J. Michael Prince, President and CEO of USPA Global Licensing Inc., which manages the multi-billion-dollar U.S. Polo Assn. brand. “We have been working diligently to improve our global footprint through products that are better for the environment and through partnerships with organizations like 4ocean that share our mission and vision for a sustainable future.”

4ocean was the Official Sustainability Partner of the U.S. Open Polo Championship Final, collecting plastic and trash from the prestigious and sold-out event in April at the USPA National Polo Center. 4ocean also had a series of commercial spots run during the U.S. Open Polo Championship Final on multiple ESPN platforms, bringing awareness to millions of consumers and sports fans. USPAGL will feature the show in many of the 1,100 U.S. Polo Assn. retail stores that span 166 countries, as well as on multiple digital platforms including the company’s website at www.uspoloassnglobal.com, IGTV and YouTube, impacting millions of consumers and sports fans globally.

Glenn Jergensen, the Executive Director of the Palm Beach County Tourist Development Council commented, “U.S. Polo Assn. and the sport of polo are essential in making Palm Beach County, specifically the Village of Wellington, the ‘Equestrian Capital of the world.’ The Tourist Development Council is proud to highlight these extraordinary female athletes and share their stories on The Palm Beaches TV.

“Women in Polo: The Palm Beaches” profiles six inspiring women who are changing the face of the sport, beginning with the late, great Sunny Hale, a polo pioneer and the first woman to win the U.S. Open Polo Championship. Viewers will meet Dawn Jones, a polo patron and advocate for female players (and wife of Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones), as well as Pamela Flanagan, a young, polo-playing lawyer who rescues horses and transforms them into polo ponies. The show also takes an in-depth look at the exciting lives of two U.S. Polo Assn. Global Brand Ambassadors: Hope Arellano, a young polo phenom, and Ashley Busch, fashion designer, model and wife of NASCAR Superstar Kurt Busch. The show takes a detour outside Palm Beach County to meet Shariah Harris, a young woman from Philadelphia’s Work To Ride program, who is defying the odds by earning a full scholarship to play polo at Cornell University, and making history as the first African American woman to play in a high goal polo tournament.

“I want to thank U.S. Polo Assn. for creating the ‘Women in Polo’ project to help raise awareness about women in the sport of polo, its history, those who currently play the sport, and its potential to grow in the future,” said Dawn Jones. “I was honored to offer my perspective as an active female polo player, highly interested in seeing women’s polo become more efficiently and professionally organized for the next generation.”

“I am very honored to be one of the featured women in this show,” said Shariah Harris. “My introduction to the sport of polo and my journey, through the Work to Ride program, has been very unique. However, I feel that the best journeys are sometimes the ones that are a bit unconventional. And hopefully, my story and the stories of the other amazing women featured on this show can inspire other women to pick up the sport, no matter their backgrounds.”
