    Fans turned the rerelease of Mankantha into festival

    The re-release of Mankantha transformed into a festival for fans as they can be seen whistling in theatres, archanai-milk abhishekam, demand for larger than life cut outs. These all happened inside the cinema halls. Social media has been buzzing with video snippets of celebration inside theatres that drive one and all to unanimously agree it is a cult film.

    The action thriller movie is based on match fixing events, which revolves around a mafia gambling during the Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Mankantha stars Ajith Kumar, Arjun Sarja, Trisha Krishnan, Suhasini Rajaram Naidu, Ganesh Venkatram, Vaibhav Reddy, Anjali, Raai Laxmi and Ramesh Thilak in key roles. The movie has been written and directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri, Vivek Rathnavelu, and Dhayanidhi Alagiri. It has a runtime of 2 hours and 29 minutes. With a fresh poster of the film, the announcement was made. The producer revealed that Atlee’s power-packed entertainer will hit cinemas on January 15, 2026, timed for its 10th anniversary.

While Vijay holds the fort, he is joined by actors like Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson, making it irresistible for the audience.

    Helmed by Atlee, the movie revolves around DCP Vijaya Kumar, who is forced to return to his dangerous past when his daughter’s life is in danger. To protect his loving child, Kumar takes over the reins again to tackle the enemies.     Speaking at the Parasakthi pre-release event, Sivakarthikeyan revealed how frightened he was when he heard that his film would clash with Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, especially since it is being touted as the superstar’s final cinematic venture.

    The Amaran actor said, “We initially planned to release Parasakthi for Diwali 2025, but at that time, the Jana Nayagan team had already locked the Diwali release date. So, we decided against it and continued working on our film, keeping Pongal in mind. However, suddenly, the Jana Nayagan team also pushed their release to Pongal. I felt shocked.”

    “I called our producer Akash bro and asked whether we could change our release date to avoid a clash with Jana Nayagan. However, he revealed that all the investors had already been informed that the film would be released for Pongal. Also, if postponed, it would release in the summer of 2026, which is when the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are scheduled to take place,” the actor added.

    Sivakarthikeyan went on to say that he then called Vijay’s manager, Jagadish, and inquired about both films releasing during Pongal. The actor said, “I asked him, ‘What is this, bro? Parasakthi and Jana Nayagan are releasing together, with this one even being promoted as Vijay sir’s last film. You may not have a problem at the box office, but I will. Could you please ask sir about it once?’ He went and asked Vijay sir and called me back five minutes later.”

    “He told me that Vijay sir believes that since it’s Pongal, both films have enough space to release and will not affect each other at the box office. Sir also conveyed his best wishes for Parasakthi. So, in conclusion, what I want to say is this: Everyone, please go watch and enjoy Jana Nayagan on January 9 and celebrate it. We are talking about a man who has entertained us for 33 years. Then, on January 10, come and watch Parasakthi and celebrate that too,” SK added.

    Parasakthi is set in 1960s Madras, where civil disobedience is at its peak. Amid challenging times, two brothers with contrasting ideologies must navigate societal turmoil and unite against a common enemy.

The actress took to her social media handle to issue a brief statement clearing her stance. Parvati stated that the allegations against her are “baseless” and her legal team will look into it.

    Parvati Nair took to her X handle and wrote, “Some false narratives and baseless allegations are being circulated. I have full faith in the judicial system, and my legal team will take action against everyone responsible. The truth will be out soon.     For the unversed, Parvati Nair, along with Ayalaan producer Rajesh and five others, were accused of assaulting a domestic help. Reports suggested that the victim was physically attacked and harassed over suspected theft allegations.

    A few years ago, the actress had accused her domestic staff, Subash Chandra Bose, of theft. She had claimed that he stole items that were worth Rs 10 lakh from her home. She reportedly filed a complaint against her domestic help at the Nungambakkam police station and accused him of theft.

    However, Subash came forward and shared his side of the story. He revealed how Parvati, along with producer Rajesh and some others, confined him in a room and assaulted him for stealing items, which he did not.

    He further filed a complaint against Parvati Nair and six others, including producer Rajesh, in Chennai’s Saidapet Court. 

    Meanwhile, on the work front, actress Parvati Nair appeared in the blockbuster film The GOAT, starring Thalapathy Vijay as the main lead. The film released in theaters on September 5 and was directed by Venkat Prabhu. Apart from Vijay, the film also featured Prabhudeva, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jayaram, and others in significant roles.

    It is reported that Thalaivar171 would be a standalone film, and would not be a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe or the LCU. The film would be the sixth film helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and would be bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. The music for the film will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while the stunt duo Anbariv have been roped in for the action direction. The film is expected to go on floors in March or April of 2024.

    Manoj Paramahamsa is also a part of Gautham Vasudev Menon’s upcoming film Dhruva Natchathiram. The film features an ensemble cast including , Vinayakan, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Simran, Ritu Varma, and many more. The music for the film is composed by Harris Jayaraj, and the film is all set to release on November 24th. 

    Paramahamsa is also a part of Mahesh babu’s upcoming film with Trivikram Srinivas, titled Guntur Kaaram. The film is expected to be an action drama film, and features Jayaram, Sreeleela, Prakash Raj, Meenakshi Chaudhary and many more in prominent roles. The film is all set to release on January 12th, next year.

    As for Thalapathy Vijay, he will next be seen in Venkat Prabhu’s next, which is temporarily titled Thalapathy68. The film also features Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Jayaram, Yogi Babu, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Mic Mohan, and more in crucial roles. While there, he gets to know that a local gangster uses the children in the home as scapegoats for his illegal activities, which JD puts an end to. Although the film is not a regular action flick, it garnered positive reviews for the way the story was told.

    Safe to say, Leo is one of the most hyped films of this year The film, which stars Thalapathy Vijay and helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is all set to hit the theaters on 19th October. Leo would mark a second collaboration between the actor-director duo, the first one being the 2021 action film, Master. As the Thalapathy Vijay starrer Leo gears up for its release next month, the producers of the film have reacted to the rumors of its audio launch.

    Producers react to audio launch rumors 

    In the most recent update related to the film, the makers of Leo have slammed the rumors that there were political powers meddling with the film’s audio launch. The production house of the film, Seven Screen Studio, put out a post on their social media handle, stating the following.

    “Sir, this is to clarify that this news is not true..”

    The rumors started to swirl owing to the reports by Savukku Media Network that DMK, which is the ruling party in Tamil Nadu, was “arm twisting the producer of Leo”, demanding the distribution rights for the film in Chennai, Chengalpattu, North and South Arcot regions of Tamil Nadu, be given to Red Giant Movies, a production and distribution company owned by actor and politician Udhayanidhi Stalin. 

    A report by Savukku media also claimed that the political powers were threatening not to give permission to use the Nehru Indoor Stadium, which is the most likely venue for the audio launch. Although there has been no official confirmation with regards to the date and venue of the audio launch, it is speculated that the event will take place on 30th September at the Nehru Indoor Stadium.

    Leo is the fifth directorial venture of Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film features an ensemble cast, including Thalapathy Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mathew Thomas, Priya Anand, and many more. The music for the film has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and the cinematography has been handled by Manoj Paramahamsa. Lokesh’s frequent collaborator Philomin Raj has handled the editing for the film.

I didn’t have a second thought that who is going to do it. But from day 1, the script, the scenes, what I do, how it went; the only person I interacted with was Vijay sir. He is like a brother to me. And we are very serious about what we do in life. So he used to share about his films. I shared what I was doing and all. So he was very advisory and always a backbone to me. We shared a lot of stuff on Jawan, what is happening on Jawan; But it is purely made for Shah Rukh.

    Atlee Shares How He Feels About Jawan’s Theatrical Success; Says Why Jawan’s Success Puts Him Under Pressure

    In the interview, Atlee also talked about Jawan‘s theatrical reception and how it has put greater pressure on him to deliver. He said, “It’s really a blessing. It puts me in a stage of pressure that, what should I do next. That’s all to me. To the trade and the ecosystem, it has come back and it has revived. It is really breathing well now. If the cinema is going to strike the right audience at the right time and with the right content, I think people are going to come to theatres. I am really happy that people are coming back to the theatres and enjoying it. They are really connecting and interacting with the screen. That energy is theatrical energy. For an individual, time is very precious.”

It captured Thalapathy Vijay in a rugged avatar, dancing his heart out with a group of background dancers.     With great stardom comes great tantrums’, but that’s not the case always. South actors like Allu Arjun, Ajith Kumar, Thalapathy Vijay and Rishab Shetty among others believe in simple living. Zero starry tantrums, no attitude and are all very much disciplined. Earlier today, Vijay was papped at Hyderabad airport and the superstar, as you can see in the video, went through the security check like any other passenger. 

    One can see, Vijay is sporting a simple semi-formal attire and is wearing a face mask as he walks through the security check queue without bodyguards. Clearly, Thalapthy Vijay is a gem of a person, absolutely down to earth and has no starry tantrums. Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu’ was released in theatre on January 11, along with Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu. The makers hosted a grand success party for the film in Hyderabad yesterday, which was attended by music composer S Thaman, producer Dil Raju, and director Vamshi Paidipally among others. 

    Taking to social media, music composer S Thaman posted a few photos from the success party and wrote, “What a Moment. Thanks dears anna @actorvijay. Not able to get out of this Truest HIGH!”

    The year 2023 holds a lot of exciting ventures for the fans of South cinema. The lineup includes two of the most adored stars Thalapathy Vijay, and Ajith Kumar locking horns at the box office with their forthcoming dramas, Varisu and Thunivu respectively. As both films will be hitting the cinema halls on the 12th of January this year during Pongal, the makers have released the trailers of the movies, piquing fans’ interest. For the unversed, these two stars have been sharing a release date after a long gap of around 9 years.

    Varisu Trailer

    The makers of Thalapathy Vijay, and Rashmika Mandanna’s family entertainer Varisu unveiled the trailer of the movie today on 4th January. The preview introduces us to a picture-perfect joint family with three brothers. However, when asked about it, they only care to admit to two. The reason for this is said to be the youngest sibling’s (Thalapathy Vijay) rebellious attitude. The story gains momentum when their family business faces a threat in the form of another ruthless businessman, played by Prakash Raj. Given the unprecedented situation, the protagonist steps up to the occasion and decides to settle scores. The engaging clip makes us think about the following questions, will he be able to save his family business? will he get back his family’s acceptance? If the trailer is any hint, Varisu seems like a total masala entertainer. It includes all the necessary ingredients like action, drama, comedy, romance, and music, among other things.




    Vamshi Paidipally has directed the Tamil drama with R Sarath Kumar, Jayasudha, Khushboo, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu, and Sangeetha Krish playing ancillary roles, along with the rest. Backed by Dil Raju under the production banners Sri Venkateswara Creations, and PVP Cinema, Praveen K. L. is looking after the editing. While well-known composer S Thaman has provided the tunes for the drama, Karthik Palani is on board the team as the cinematographer.

    Thunivu Trailer

    Now, coming to the trailer of Thunivu, the makers released the exciting preview just a couple of days ago. Helmed by Valimai director H Vinoth, the project is a heist thriller that journals a cat-and-mouse chase between a group of bank robbers, and the police. While Ajith Kumar is shown as the head of the robbers’ gang, Manju Warrier is his partner in crime. Additionally, Samuthirakani plays DGP Dayalan in Thunivu. The film appears to have several layers with a lot of suspense. From the looks of it, the venture appears to be a high dose of adrenal rush. 

     




    The film’s cast further includes Veera, John Kokken, Ajay, and Cibi Chandran in supporting roles, along with others. The highly awaited drama has been financed by Valimai maker Boney Kapoor under the Bayview Projects LLP banner, along with Zee Studios. The music for Thunivu has been scored by Ghibran, while Nirav Shah and Vijay Velukutty are a part of the team as cinematographer, and editor respectively.
