    Anirudh Ravichander recently made quite a storm on the internet following the release of his new single from the Thalapathy Vijay starrer Jana Nayagan. The track, titled Thalapathy Kacheri, is a dance banger sung by Anirudh alongside Vijay and lyricist Arivu.

    Interestingly, the last minute of the song has been reserved exclusively for the film’s release on January 9, 2026, featuring a massive dance number by Vijay.

    The Shah Rukh Khan led Jawan directed by Atlee is headed for a historic opening day at the box office in India as the trends till evening indicates a day in the vicinity of Rs 62 to 63 crore, which is basically the biggest opening day for a Hindi Film. The previous best start was taken by another SRK film, Pathaan, which scored Rs 55 crore on its opening day on January 25.     The collections have got a boast due to Janmashtami Holiday in most part of the country and a proper National Holiday could have actually pushed the single day collection of Jawan in the North of Rs 70 crore. But none the less the numbers that Jawan is looking to put up on the opening day is ready to create history. The film is running to bumper occupancy across the country – East, West, North and South – and this is certainly the peak of SRK-era that we are living in, as the superstar has delivered back to back record openers, with conversations already making rounds about the chances of him delivering 2 ATG’s in a span of 9 months.

    The three national chains have collected Rs 23.70 crore (All Languages, Hindi: Rs 21.50 crore) as off 3.00 PM and will be looking to collect in the vicinity of Rs 31 to 33 crore (All Languages, Hindi Rs 29 to 30 crore) by the end of day. Given the fact that non national chains and single screens are recording huge numbers, the national chain contribution is expected to be 44 to 46 percent, which means a day in the range mentioned above. Pathaan on its opening day had scored Rs 27.02 crore in the three chains and jumped to Rs 32.30 crore on second day. Both the days had nominal contribution from Tamil and Telugu versions too

    MovieMax chain is also roaring big at the box office as Jawan as collected Rs 70 lakh in the chain as off 3.30 PM, and will be booking to score over a crore by mid-night. For those unaware, Pathaan collected Rs 78 lakh on its opening day in the chain and Rs 1.08 crore on the second day.

    All India opening of Jawan expected to be in the vicinity of Rs 70 crore

    As far as Tamil and Telugu dubbed version of Jawan is concerned, the movie is all set to create history as far as business for Hindi Origin film is concerned. According to early trends, an opening in the vicinity of Rs 7.00 to 9.00 crore nett is on cards of Jawan in Tamil and Telugu Dubbed, which is a record for Hindi Film. Be it Tamil Nadu, Kerala or Andhra Pradesh and Nizam – the action packed entertainer featuring SRK with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi is on its way to create new records for a Hindi Film. Taking into account business from all versions, Jawan is all set to score a Pan India opening, anywhere in the range of Rs 67 to 72 crore, which is again an all-time record, depending on how big the evening shows land.

    Pathaan has demolished all records at the box office on it’s second day by an unheard margin as trends indicate a second day total in the vicinity of Rs 70 crore. The Shah Rukh Khan led actioner was running to packed houses across the board with unprecedented demand for addition of shows in tier 2 and tier 3 centres. The Siddharth Anand directorial clocked an occupancy of 65 percent on it’s second day, despite releasing on over 5500 screens with over 20,000 shows a day. Be it the single screens or the multiplexes – Pathaan has recorded unimaginable occupancy all across and managed to surpass all the expectations on its second day. The Hindi version is looking to collect in the range of Rs 68 to 71 crore, the Tamil and Telugu dubbed version are expected to put in another Rs 2 to 3 crore to the total.

    Pathaan runs riot at the box office across India

    While the national chains were already operating with optimum capacity on the opening day, the real growth has come at relatively smaller multiplex chains like Rajhans and MovieMax, apart from the single screens.. While Rajhans scored a record-breaking growth of 150 percent over the opening day, MovieMax grew by 45 percent on it’s second day. These jumps have come despite the film performing at excellent occupancy on the day of release. It’s a single day record in both the chains and this shall stand tall for a long time. Even Miraj has shown excellent jump of 40 percent on it’s second day and created an all-time single day record in the chain.

    Thursday: 1.15 crore (+45%)

    Wednesday: 27.02 crore

    There are some single screens too which performed to optimum capacity on second day. Ashok Cinema (Pune) collected Rs 91,000 on Wednesday and showed over 100 percent growth on Thursday to collect Rs 1.92 Lakh. There’s Radhakrishna Cinema in Chandrapur which as jumped 3x from Rs 76,000 on Wednesday to Rs 3.25 lakh on Thursday. It’s a similar scenario at single screens all across the nation, as Pathaan has pumped in oxygen in multiple dead cinema halls in the interiors of India. There are some other cinema halls in Mumbai like Fun Square in Sanpada and Nishant Cinema in Grant Road, which have been running to empty house for years now and it was a sight on sore eyes to see them put up a houseful board. UMA in Solapur grew from Rs 1.99 lakh to Rs 2.65 lakh.

    Pathaan clocks the biggest single day collection of all time

    Pathaan has recorded the biggest single day ever for a Hindi Film and also the biggest single day ever for a film in Hindi Market. The film has destroyed all the previous records by a margin of 27 percent, and the second day biz of Pathaan is a record that shall stay intact for a long time. The two-day Pathaan (All India) stands at approximately Rs 128 crore, and the film is fast headed to score a record-breaking opening weekend in the range of Rs 150 crore. The film is already the #1 film of Bollywood as far as records like biggest opening day, biggest single day, biggest second day and biggest opening weekend is concerned and in the days to come, it will topple many more records. In-fact, by the end of it’s run, there is a high chance for every major box office record, including the biggest grosser of all time, to be under the name of one man i.e. SHAH RUKH KHAN. The 2nd day business of Pathaan is of unheard proportion, surpassing all the predictions and theories of the film industry.

    Pathaan Day Wise Box Office:

    Wednesday: Rs 56.50 crore

    Thursday: Rs 70 to 73 crore (Estimate)

    The countdown has begun for what could be touted the biggest release of Hindi Cinema in the post pandemic world as Shah Rukh Khan returns to the big screen after 4 years with the Yash Raj Films production, Pathaan. The film is carrying an incredible hype and is set to emerge one of the biggest openers of all time for Hindi Cinema. Being an event spectacle, which is set to attract huge footfalls, several producers are keen to introduce the audience to their respective films. As many as 5 trailer/teaser are expected to screen with Pathaan.

    Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar exclusively with Pathaan

    The first trailer to screen with Pathaan is the Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor fronted Romantic Comedy, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The 3 minutes plus trailer of this Luv Ranjan directorial is hard attached to the prints of Pathaan, which means that it will play at every property where Pathaan has been released across the globe. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is the only trailer that’s officially attached with this Siddharth Anand directorial. This has happened because YRF is associated with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar too in the capacity of worldwide distributors.

    All the remaining trailers will screen basis the deals done by the respective producers directly with the national multiplex chains. A source explains, “Selfiee team has tied up with PVR, Inox & Cinepolis. The trailer of Selfiee is expected to screen at most of the national multiplex chains ahead of Pathaan screening. The trailer has been digitally sent to the single screen owners too, however, every exhibitor will take an individual decision on screening the teaser. It has a running time of 3 minute 6 seconds.”

    Bholaa and Kisika Bhai Kisiki Jaan Teaser with Pathaan

    Much like Selfiee, the teasers of Salman Khan’s Kisika Bhai Kisiki Jaan and Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa too will be screened in multiplex chains. “Again, it’s a deal done directly with a couple of national chains. The teasers would play either before the movie or in the interval. The audience would get to see action packed world of both these films on the big screen,” the source informs, adding further that single screen cinema halls will also screen the teasers of these two action packed entertainer. While Bholaa teaser has a runtime of 1 minute 54 seconds, Kisika Bhai Kisiki Jaan teaser runtime is 1 minute 45 seconds. The Kartik Aaryan starrer Shehzada is the next in list, but contrary to the films mentioned above, this one will play in cinema halls all across the country. “After Pathaan, the next big film to release is Shehzada and hence, by default, the cinema owners will screen this trailer in their respective properties. The teaser will play in both – multiplexes and single screens – to put in the recall factor of release date in the mind of audiences,” the source signs off.

    Basically, the audiences will get to see any of 5 teaser/trailer along with Pathaan with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar being the constant. For the rest, it’s up-to the cinema owners to decide on the line up, as they would have the content for all films. 2023 is indeed starting with a bang for the Hindi Film Industry.

    Shah Rukh Khan is all set to return to the big screen after 4 long years with the much-awaited Siddharth Anand directed Pathaan. The film is among the most hyped films of Bollywood and is expected to set the box office on fire upon its release on January 25. Over the last few months, the film ran into some controversy, with certain section of society making boycott and ban calls on the film. Cinema halls in Gujarat had received letters from Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal warning them to not screen Pathaan at their properties. Some of the cinema halls were also damaged amid the protests done by the outfits.The Yash Raj Films production also features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead.

    Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan to get Police Protection in Gujarat

    Seeing the reactions of VHP and Bajrang Dal, the Multiplex Association of Gujarat, wrote a letter to Chief Minister Bhupendra Bhai Patel and Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi regarding security arrangement at cinema halls before the release of Pathaan. And now, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that the Gujarat Government has come in support of Pathaan and promised a police protection for the film release during the Republic Day weekend. Vandan Shah, the Secretary of Cinema Owner Association, Gujarat, confirmed the development to Pinkvilla saying, “It was a great meeting with the Government officials. He has promised police protection at the cinema halls if required to ensure a smooth release for Pathaan on January 25.” We hear, the respected Home Minister of Gujarat has also sent a letter to all police stations and commissioner of state asking them to provide protection to cinema halls in the release week of Pathaan.

    For those unaware, Gujarat VHP spokesperson Hitendrasinh Rajput in the past had said, “Pathaan’s screening will not be permitted in Gujarat. The protest against the film’s release in Ahmedabad today should serve as a wake-up call to all theatre owners in the state. They must refrain from releasing the film in their theatres or multiplexes.” In reaction to such comments, the Cinema Associations of the state had reached out to the Government for their support. In a letter addressed to Chief Minister and Home Minister, the cinema owners seeked for official intervention. The experts from the letter read, “There are many groups that are illegally targeting cinema exhibitors based on their own understanding and agendas by unlawfully threatening cinema exhibitors with dire consequences in terms of safety and security of their property, staff and movie-goers if certain movies are released. So, we request all kinds of support from your end regarding protecting (of) our properties and business interest.”

    The YRF Spy Universe

    Pathaan is touted to be one of India’s biggest action spectacles to date and is a part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe, which kicked off with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012 followed by Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and War (2019). Being the fourth film of the universe, it also marks the inception point for the crossover of characters from one film to the other, which eventually leads to a big-ticket multi-starrer finale.Salman Khan has an extended cameo in Pathaan, in his avatar of iconic spy, Tiger aka. Avinash Singh Rathore. The spy universe then continues with the release of Tiger 3 starring Salman with Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi during the Diwali 2023 weekend. The film will see an extended appearance from Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan.

    Shah Rukh Khan is all set to return to the big screen after almost 1500 days with the Siddharth Anand directed action thriller, Pathaan. The action thriller is all set to the hit the big screen on January 25, 2022, and the fans have already started preparations to welcome their King with a bang. Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that over 50000 Shah Rukh Khan fans are coming together to watch the first day first show of Pathaan across the country. His fan club, SRK Universe is organising First Day First Show of Pathaan in over 200 cities of India.

    Pathaan FDFS in over 200 cities with fans

    Yash Paryani, the co-founder of SRK Universe confirms the news to Pinkvilla saying, “SRK Universe is organizing FDFS of Pathaan in over 200 cities. We are expecting over 50,000 SRK fans to join our shows and we expect minimum bookings worth Rs 1 crore from our FDFS celebrations alone. We are doing this event across cities.” Opening up on their plans further, Yash adds, “Mumbai will have 7 to 8 first day first show celebrations, Delhi will have 6. Likewise, there will be multiple shows in the big cities. We will not just limited ourselves with first day first show, but will continue watching the film over the first day and also the republic day weekend”

    The plans are not just limited to collectively viewing the film across country. Yash and his team at SRK Universe is planning to go big on the merchandise front too. “We will be distributing special Pathaan Merchandise, have special cut outs, with dhols. Our idea is to celebrate SRK films like a festival and Pathaan will be no different.” Yash insists that Pathaan is the first Indian film to be shot in IMAX format and hence, they are looking to consume this content on the biggest possible film. “We also plan to focus on IMAX shows as Pathaan is the first Indian film to be shot in IMAX format and most of our bookings in cities will be for IMAX shows. We are also planning early morning FDFS, which will boast the collections further.”

    The YRF Spy Universe

    Pathaan is touted to be one of India’s biggest action spectacles till date and is a part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe, that kicked off with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012 followed by Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and War (2019). Being the fourth film of the universe, it also marks the inception point for the crossover of characters from one film to the other, which eventually leads to a big ticket multi-starrer finale. Salman Khan has an extended cameo in Pathaan, in his avatar of iconic spy, Tiger aka. Avinash Singh Rathore. The spy universe then continues with the release of Tiger 3 starring Salman with Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi during the Diwali 2023 weekend. The film will see an extended appearance from Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan.

    Talking of Pathaan, it marks the fourth collaboration of SRK and Deepika Padukone after having worked on films like Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express and Happy New Year. The Siddharth Anand directorial is set to release on January 25, 2023 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. After Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen next in the Atlee directed Jawan, which is set for a June 2023 opening. The film features SRK with Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi among others. He ends 2023 with the Rajkumar Hirani directed Dunki, which is set for a Christmas 2023 release.

    Interestingly, fans would also get to see a Shah Rukh Khan trailer after 1531 days and this in itself has caused immense anticipation among his fans and cinema going audience. The advances for Pathaan have already open in international markets like Germany, Australia and the early response to the ticket sales suggest that Pathaan well might take a record opening/ near record opening for a Hindi Film in the international markets.     Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is known for his charm and with that he has captivated many. The latest to join is the Hollywood star Sharon Stone, at the Red Sea Film Festival. In a video, Sharon can be seen looking at Shah Rukh with awe after spotting him right next to her.

    Sharon first gasps and then says, “Oh my God!” as the host introduces Shah Rukh Khan to the crowd. She was seen wearing a black pair of gloves on her hands and a beige dress. She screamed and Shah Rukh watched her response and leaned in to say hello. They were seen on camera exchanging “Namaste” as well.

    During the ceremony, Shah Rukh Khan received recognition as well. He accepted his award and addressed the audience in Arabic. He apologised in the opening for the speech’s length. He remarked jokingly that I am overjoyed because this is the first time I have been recognised and taken seriously at a film festival.

    Shah Rukh and Kajol attended the Red Sea Film Festival because the opening film was their smash hit Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. In one of the videos, SRK can be seen singing Kajol the Tujhe Dekha Toh song from DDLJ. He also gave Kajol his well-known line from Baazigar.

    After receiving the award, he said, “I am truly honoured to receive this award from the Red Sea International Film Festival. It’s wonderful to be here among my fans from Saudi and the region who have always been huge supporters of my films. I’m looking forward to celebrating the region’s talent and being a part of this exciting film community. Film is a unifier because it transits shared human experiences across cultures. You like a film because it stirs your emotions, be it in whatever language or culture it is from. And Thank God for subtitles. It brings all that is human to the fore and it shows perhaps better than any other art, how despite the immense diversity of the world we live in, our basic pursuits and emotions are the same.”

    “Cinema celebrates diversity. It doesn’t stop short of fully exploring differences. And doing so, in the most beautiful fashion, it teaches us not to be afraid of those differences,” he added.

    Yash Raj Films re-released their hit romantic film from the 90s, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge on November 2 and the film continued to charm audiences even 27 years after it hit theatres in 1995. The Hindi film was re-released in select theatres to mark the 57th birthday of the lead star Shah Rukh Khan. The film is fondly known as DDLJ and collected $28,103 on the day it re-released.

    Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge was released with subsidized rates of $1.2 and it saw full-house at many theatres where it released across India. PVR Cinemas screened DDLJ in 18 cities including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chandigarh among others on November 2 in India. Cinema chains INOX and Cinepolis also released the 1995 film in select theatres.

    Talking about the re-release, the film’s star Khan says in a press statement, “DDLJ has been an extremely special film for me. I am grateful for all the love I have been receiving over the years for the film. Bringing it back on my birthday just makes it more special.”

    Vice President – Distribution at Yash Raj Films Rohan Malhotra also says that the film has shaped pop culture and is the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema. “It is our biggest IP and it is symbolic to the deep bond that Shah Rukh Khan & Aditya Chopra’s YRF share. SRK is an icon who has graced Indian cinema with path-breaking films and it is our honour to celebrate his birthday and treat his fans to one of his most memorable films of his incredibly successful career.”

    Originally released on October 20, 1995, the film shattered box office records and is the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema. It has been running in a Mumbai theatre for more than 25 years. In 2020, DDLJ was released in Germany, UAE, Saudi Arabia, USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, Mauritius, Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland and Estonia.

    Starring Khan alongside Kajol, Amrish Puri and Farida Jalal in important roles, the film traced the story of a non-resident Indian family. Simran (Kajol) lived her entire life as per Indian traditions and rules set by her dad Baldev (Puri) and after completing college, she convinces him to allow her on a trip to Europe with her friends where she meets Raj (Khan) and falls in love with him. The film traces the journey that Simran and Raj undertake to convince her family to agree with their union despite their orthodox thoughts. The film struck a chord with the audience and continues to charm them.
