    After making a promising debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, Agastya Nanda is all set to captivate audiences with Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis. Agastya who is the grandson of legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan will be making his appearance on the big screen for the first time since The Archies released on OTT. Joining him is another fresh face, Simar Bhatia, niece of Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who will make her debut with this film.
    Although details of her character are still kept under wraps, she is set to star as the romantic lead opposite Agastya Nanda, and has already filmed some of her scenes.


    The heartwarming relationship between a father and son during the 1971 Indo-Pak War is at the heart of the coming-of-age story of Ikkis. The film also stars veteran actor Dharmendra who plays Brigadier M.L. Khetarpal, Arun’s father, while Agastya Nanda plays Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Arun Khetarpal was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously for his heroism in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War.

As per the latest trade reports, the film is on the verge of crossing the $2.4 million net mark in India. The current domestic box office collection stands at an estimated $1.6 million, a testament to the film’s consistent performance.

    The weekend proved to be a turning point for Merry Christmas. The film opened on Friday with a collection of $294 thousand net in all languages in India. Following this, Saturday witnessed a notable surge, with earnings reaching $414 thousand. The momentum continued to build on Sunday, recording the highest day-wise figure of $460 thousand.

    Even on weekdays, Merry Christmas held its ground. Monday’s business amounted to $198 thousand, while Tuesday contributed an additional $156 thousand to the overall box office collection. On the whole, Katrina Kaif starrer’s six-day total is a whopping $1.66 million.

    The success of Sriram Raghavan’s directorial can be attributed to its positive reviews from both critics and audiences.
