  • Katy Perry’s Friends Reportedly ‘Worried She’s Moving Too Fast’ With Justin Trudeau as Sources Claim They’re Ready to Elope

    [ad_1]

Sometimes, when you get out of a relationship you weren’t happy in, for whatever reason, your next relationship is like a breath of fresh air. And that often comes with the desire to experience all the things you perhaps were depriving yourself of because the last relationship just wasn’t working. Some of this might be happening to Katy Perry in her new relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, because, according to reports, things have advanced pretty quickly.

RadarOnline.com, for example, is reporting that the pair is ready to elope. And people around her aren’t too happy about that. “A lot of people in her life are worried that she’s moving too fast,” an insider told the publication. “She was with Orlando Bloom for nearly a decade, and she went straight from their breakup to dating Justin without missing a beat – and suddenly he’s her whole world.”

Perry announced her split from ex-fiancé, Bloom, in July 2025. Soon after, she and Trudeau were seen having dinner, and he later attended one of her concerts. Then they went public with their relationship only a few months later. According to the insider, “It’s a little concerning because she never really stopped to catch her breath or process the breakup properly. But Katy doesn’t want to hear any of that.”

“She keeps saying she’s never been happier and that this feels easy in a way that things with Orlando never did.”

Reports about the relationship between Perry and Trudeau have been pretty positive for a while, with the National Enquirer reporting their kids have already met. The two are “crazy about each other,” an insider claimed, adding, “This isn’t a fling.”

“Katy’s daughter, Daisy, has spent time around Justin. And his three kids — Xavier, Ella-Grace and Hadrien — have met Katy,” a source said. “It was warm. It was easy. The kids clicked instantly.”

Last year, Page Six had reported that the two understood their relationship was going to be very public from the beginning, considering their profiles. “They’re cognizant about not going overboard. It’s not fake. Justin Trudeau – like him or don’t like him – Canadians are wonderful people. It’s for real. In today’s market having two people that have their feet in a political mess, it really complicates relationships,” a music insider said. “They’re sensitive.”

Perry was seen with ex Bloom over the holidays, and the two reportedly have a good relationship for the sake of their daughter. A source told People they’re “always gonna be family and put their daughter first. They’re both super committed to keeping this family dynamic. All amicable and pretty easy.”

Reportedly, their romance failed because their “busy careers takes another kind of commitment,” but they’re “doing a great job at figuring it all out” for Daisy.

And the relationship with Trudeau seems to be going just fine, too. So good that, during the holidays, Perry shared a carousel of pictures that included Bloom playing with their daughter, and one of Perry kissing Trudeau.

  • The Best Fashion Moments From the 2026 Golden Globes Red Carpet

    [ad_1]

You might still be easing into 2026, but awards season is already out in full force. In a twist from the usual schedule, the calendar kicked off with the Critics’ Choice Awards, and just a week later, it’s time for arguably one of the most fun ceremonies of the season: the Golden Globe Awards.

The Golden Globes celebrate the best in the film and television industry; this year, Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another garnered the most nominations for a film with nine, closely followed by Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value, which netted eight noms. The White Lotus leads the pack with six television nods, tailed by Adolescence with five.

Tonight, the Golden Globes return to the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, with Nikki Glaser once again taking on hosting duties in a repeat from last year. The 83rd Golden Globe Awards also mark the first time that podcasts will be honored, as this year the show is introducing a Best Podcast category. So far, announced presenters include Amanda Seyfried, Ana de Armas, Ayo Edebiri, Charli XCX, Chris Pine, Colman Domingo, Connor Storrie, Dakota Fanning, Dave Franco, Diane Lane, George Clooney, Hailee Steinfeld, Hudson Williams, Jason Bateman, Jennifer Garner, Joe Keery, Judd Apatow, Julia Roberts, Justin Hartley, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, Kevin Bacon, Kevin Hart, Kyra Sedgwick, Lalisa Manobal, Luke Grimes, Macaulay Culkin, Marlon Wayans, Melissa McCarthy, Mila Kunis, Miley Cyrus, Minnie Driver, Orlando Bloom, Pamela Anderson, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, Sean Hayes, Snoop Dogg, Wanda Sykes, Will Arnett and Zoë Kravitz.

The evening always begins with a dazzling red carpet, when A-list guests arrive in their finest fashions. The Golden Globes tend to offer a more exciting spectacle in terms of style; it’s still a black tie event, but it’s not as buttoned-up as, say, the Academy Awards, which is why it’s one of our favorite red carpets of the entire year. Take a look at all the best, most fashionable moments from the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet.

  • Lauren Sánchez’s Secret Role in Katy Perry & Justin Trudeau’s Relationship Revealed After Orlando Bloom Attended Her Wedding to Jeff Bezos Solo

    [ad_1]

Lauren Sánchez has a knack for matchmaking. The former journalist reportedly set her friend Katy Perry up with Justin Trudeau after the singer broke up with her longtime boyfriend Orlando Bloom.

According to a source to Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop Substack, Sánchez knew that they were a perfect match. “Lauren introduced them through her circle — she thought they’d vibe instantly,” one insider said. “And wow, did she call it.” Lauren even boasted about her skills, reportedly saying, “I’ve gone from launching rockets to launching romances!”

The “E.T.” singer and the former Canadian Prime Minister hard-launched their relationship after they held hands and were spotted by paparazzi in Paris. The new couple was seen leaving a cabaret show at the Crazy Horse Paris in photos obtained by TMZ. The two were speculated to be together when the two were making out on Perry’s yacht in August.

Related: Jeff Bezos’ Amazon Stake Takes Major Dip After His Ex Slashed Her Shares Amid Reports He & His New Wife Are Going to Court For Money

Perry recently called things off with her boyfriend of nearly a decade, Orlando Bloom. The two reportedly broke up around the time of Lauren Sánchez’s wedding to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Bloom attended the nuptials by himself while Perry was on her Lifetimes tour.

However, Bloom’s attendance was a point of contention with Perry. “Katy feels like they’re really her friends more than his, and yet he’s the one going to the wedding,” the Daily Mail reported. “And he’s insistent that he goes, which annoys her because he’s not particularly close to either of them. She feels like it’s a ‘f*** you’ to her from him.”

The ex-couple released a statement at the time: “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” the statement read. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”

As for Perry and Trudeau’s romance, it seems to be going extremely well. “Katy is really into it. She’s very happy,” an inside source tells Us Weekly. “She’s trying to keep it low-key, and they’ve spent a lot of private time together. She’s not looking to publicize this relationship.”

  • Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau Definitely Look Like a Couple, Don’t They?

    [ad_1]

The rumors began on July 28, when TMZ revealed that Perry and Trudeau had dined together at the exclusive Le Violon restaurant in Montréal, where Perry had traveled for a leg of her Lifetimes tour. The people who spotted them didn’t disclose any “compromising” gestures made during the meal. Now, however, we have proof of affection between the pair. (A rep for Perry did not immediately return Vanity Fair’s request for comment and Trudeau could not be reached.)

Both Perry and Trudeau have reportedly been single for months now. Her relationship with Orlando Bloom officially ended in early July, when the couple—who have been linked for nearly 10 years and share a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove—issued a joint statement confirming their breakup after months of gossip.

“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, we confirm that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” ihe statement read. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”

A few days later, Bloom shared photos of a family vacation on his Instagram account. Perry was there, looking serene as she and Bloom posed with Daisy and Flynn, Bloom’s 14-year-old son from his previous marriage to Miranda Kerr.

It’s apparently an amicable separation, just like the one between Trudeau and his ex-wife Sophie Grégoire. They announced their separation in August 2023, after eighteen years of marriage. (The couple also share three children, Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.) “Hi everyone, Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversation, we have made the decision to separate,” Trudeau, then-Prime Minister of Canada, wrote on Instagram. Grégoire posted the same message to her account simultaneously. “As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build,” it continued. “For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy. Thank you.”

At the moment, it’s unclear how the relationship between Perry and Trudeau blossomed. But judging by the latest developments, these two do not seem interested in hiding it anymore. As the Daily Mail pointed, the singer and the Canadian politician indulged in tender gestures on the upper deck of a 24-meter-long yacht, “seemingly oblivious to the tourists on a passing whale-watching boat.”

Earlier this month, an insider told the tabloid that this is not a passing flirtation. “Katy is very, very interested in him,” the insider said. “She says he’s a real catch, a high-quality guy. She keeps a lot of details to herself, but she clearly still likes him a lot.”

New photos appear to confirm romance rumors between Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau, as the pair were spotted sharing an intimate embrace during a luxury yacht getaway off the coast of Santa Barbara. In the images, Katy, wearing a black one-piece swimsuit, and Justin, shirtless in jeans, are seen holding each other closely on the upper deck of a private boat. The two smile, kiss and wrap their arms around one another in a series of affectionate moments, signaling a new high-profile relationship in the making.

The cozy PDA moment, set against a serene ocean backdrop, marks the first time the pop superstar and the former Canadian Prime Minister have been photographed so openly together, further fueling speculation about their blossoming romance.

The sweet kiss comes after the pair were spotted out on a cozy date night in Montreal in July, just weeks after the “Firework” singer confirmed her split from longtime partner Orlando Bloom, sending the internet into a frenzy.

The unlikely pair appeared to enjoy each other’s company as they dined at Le Violon, with the performer wearing a black and white dress, while the former Canadian Prime Minister sported a navy shirt, a beige jacket, and trousers.

In a video obtained by TMZ, Katy and Justin were all smiles as they chatted away, and even leaned across the table towards each other at one point in the night.

“Katy and Justin seemed to have had a fantastic evening,” a rep for the restaurant told People, adding that the couple greeted the chef and waitstaff after their meal.

“They were super kind and friendly to the staff, and it was an absolute pleasure to have them at the restaurant.”

“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” her rep revealed. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”

The pair share their four-year-old daughter Daisy Dove, whom they welcomed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Katy and Orlando first met in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty, and went on to get engaged in 2019.

They called off their romance after almost a decade together in June, yet have remained good friends and even took a short vacation together in Australia during her Lifetimes Tour Down Under.

As for Justin, 2025 has been a turmoil-filled year after he resigned from office in January following growing pressure from his party.

“Last night over dinner, I told my kids about the decision that I’m sharing with you today. I intend to resign as party leader, as Prime Minister,” he told the media. The 53-year-old, who has served as the country’s leader since 2015, remained in office until his replacement, Mike Carney, was chosen in March.

Justin has been single for two years, after he announced his separation from Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in 2023 following 18 years of marriage. The former couple share kids Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11

  • Orlando Bloom breaks his silence on Katy Perry split

    [ad_1]

Washington, DC [US], September 5 (ANI): Actor Orlando Bloom opened up about his split from Katy Perry. He spoke on the former couple’s breakup during a conversation with Today’s Craig Melvin while promoting his new film, The Cut, reported People.

‘There’s been some personal changes in your life since you were here the last time. How are you doing?’ asked Melvin.

‘I’m great, man. I’m so grateful,’ Bloom replied on the morning show, adding of their 5-year-old, Daisy, ‘We have the most beautiful daughter. You know when you leave everything on the field like I did in this movie? I feel grateful for all of it,’ as quoted by People.

‘And we’re great. We’re going to be great. Nothing but love,’ he concluded.

Representative for Perry and Bloom confirmed their split on July 3, after the outlet first learned on June 26 that they had ended their engagement, reported People.

‘Katy has every intention of maintaining a positive and respectful relationship with Orlando,’ a source said at the time, adding, ‘He’s the father of their daughter and that will always come first for her,’ according to People.

‘They’ve been through a lot together and while they’ve decided to go their separate ways, there’s still a mutual respect between them,’ the insider continued. ‘They’re still very much in touch and co-parenting Daisy together. For the sake of their daughter, they’re committed to keeping things amicable.’

In his new thriller, The Cut, Bloom plays an ex-boxer who suffered a defeat that ended his career as a champion in the ring. Then, when he ‘trains for redemption,’ a synopsis teases, an ‘obsession takes hold and reality unravels — and he may be spiralling into something far more terrifying.’

Bloom shared last month that he was ‘excited by the challenge’ of transforming himself for the role. ‘What I hadn’t expected and was surprised by was the mental toll that this kind of intense discipline takes,’ he said. ‘The paranoia and anxiety were very real and disturbing, caused by the lack of sleep — turns out you can’t sleep when you’re hungry!, ‘ reported People.

He noted that the length to which he went to train for The Cut is ‘definitely not something to try at home.’ As he explained, ‘I was supervised weekly and my blood work monitored by an expert nutritionist, Philip Goglia, who helped me lose 30 pounds in approximately three months.’

‘Ultimately, this is a story about the struggles we all face and what it takes to battle our internal demons and find self-acceptance,’ Bloom added, according to People.

The Cut is now in theatres. (ANI)

  • Orlando Bloom’s ‘Needy’ Behavior Revealed as Sources Claim He Has a ‘Bruised’ Ego From Ex Katy Perry’s Romance With Justin Trudeau

    [ad_1]

It’s tough out there for anyone, including Orlando Bloom. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor is reportedly “massively struggling” in the dating pool after his shocking breakup from Katy Perry.

“After he and Katy split, Orlando assumed he could have his pick of any woman he wanted,” a source told RadarOnline. “But it hasn’t worked out like that – women aren’t taking him seriously and find him over the top, needy and really intense, so he’s been coming up empty.”

According to the source, one rejection was a big blow to the actor. Bloom allegedly approached Sydney Sweeney at Jeff Bezos’ wedding and the Euphoria actress turned him down. “That one really stung,” a source said.

Rumors between the two emerged right when they were spotted at the Venetian nuptials shortly after Bloom and Perry announced their breakup. According to TMZ, Sweeney is “very much single” despite “swirling speculation.” Sources also added that she isn’t “interested” in dating anyone following her split from Jonathan Davino, and is “focused on her career and enjoying life.”

Bloom is also rumored to be feeling really blue about the “ET” singer go on dates with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. “Seeing Katy with Justin has really bruised Orlando’s ego,” the source dished. “He can tell she’s thrilled about this new chapter, and it’s unsettled him.”

Another source said: “He’s looking back now and realizing he could have shown her more kindness. Watching her thrive like this is hard for him to take.”

OK! UK reportedly recently reported that Perry felt “humiliated” after Bloom threw shade at her romance with Trudeau by responding to an Onion article claiming there was now something going on between him and Angela Merkel with clapping emojis.

However, his ex’s romance seems to be dying down a bit after the Daily Mail reported that their communication has “waned in the past two weeks.”

“She’s busy, he’s busy,” an insider told the outlet. They apparently texted “nonstop” in July. But “they have a lot going on, and the newness has worn off.”

“There’s nothing negative about it,” the insider added. “They just aren’t in constant communication anymore. That could change, but for now, it is what it is. It has cooled off.”

  • Orlando Bloom Spoke to Director Andy Serkis About New ‘Lord of the Rings’ Movies and Wants to Return: If Peter Jackson ‘Says Jump, I Say How High’

Orlando Bloom Spoke to Director Andy Serkis About New ‘Lord of the Rings’ Movies and Wants to Return: If Peter Jackson ‘Says Jump, I Say How High’

    [ad_1]

A few days after Ian McKellen expressed interest in returning as Gandalf in Peter Jackson’s new live-action “Lord of the Rings” movies, his co-star Orlando Bloom is adding his name to the list.

When asked by Variety if he was interested in returning to the Tolkien franchise, the Legolas actor said, “Oh, man, those things are amazing. Yeah. I don’t know how they’d do it. I guess with AI you can do anything these days. But, if Pete [Peter Jackson] says jump, I say, ‘how high?’ I mean, he started my whole career.”

The new Middle-earth movies will kick off in 2026 with “Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,” directed by Andy Serkis, who will reprise his role of Gollum/Sméagol. Original franchise director Jackson is on board to produce alongside his partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens. The plan is for that film to be the start of a new live-action “Lord of the Rings” series.

“I really don’t know what [they are planning],” Bloom added. “I did speak to Andy [Serkis] and he did say they were thinking about how to do things. I was like, ‘How would that even work?’ And he was like, ‘Well, AI!’ and I was like, ‘Oh, OK!’ It was a pretty magical time in my life, and it’s one of those things where there’s not a downside to it.”

While the new “Lord of the Rings” movies are still in development at Warner Bros., McKellen said earlier in September, “I’ve just been told there are going to be more films and Gandalf will be involved and they hope that I’ll be playing him. When? I don’t know. What the script is? It’s not written yet. So they better be quick!”

Bloom looked back on his “Lord of the Rings” tenure inside Variety‘s Toronto Film Festival Studio, sponsored by J.Crew and SharkNinja, while promoting his boxing drama “The Cut.” The film, directed by Sean Ellis and co-starring John Turturro and Caitríona Balfe, made its world premiere on Thursday, Sept. 5 at the festival.

  • Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Were Made for Each Other

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Were Made for Each Other

    [ad_1]

    Photo: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are one of those celebrity couples where you think, This is so random it just might work. Who could’ve guessed that the “Firework” singer and Legolas would be such a good match for each other? Not I. But we saw their chemistry live in action at the VMAs, where Bloom presented his fiancée and the mother of his second child with the Video Vanguard Award.

What a smooch! These two have been together since 2016 — yes, there was a break in the middle somewhere — and show no signs of slowing down. Perhaps that’s due to the therapy that they’re always talking about. Whatever it is, it’s working for them. Let’s take a look at how we got here.

These lovebirds met back in January 2016 at a Golden Globes after-party hosted by Harvey Weinstein (ack!). At the time, a source told Us Weekly that the two were “extremely flirty and whispering to each other.” Perry later revealed the story of their meet-cute in a 2019 episode of American Idol.

“I met my boyfriend over In-N-Out,” she told a contestant who worked at the fast-food spot. “We were at the Golden Globes and we weren’t together. So I had my security guard grab ten In-N-Outs, and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend’s hand — he wasn’t even sitting at our table — he just swoops in and he grabs it, and I was like, ‘Hey, that’s my burger!’”

So, if you’re sick of dating apps, maybe consider ordering a bunch of burgers the next time you’re at a fancy party.

A few months after meeting each other, Perry and Bloom went to Coachella. One eyewitness told E! News that the two were looking very much like a couple while watching the Kills. “They were hugging and with a group of other people. Orlando was behind her and swaying with her to the music. They also were vaping together,” the source said. How romantic!

In May, Bloom was spotted partying in Las Vegas with Selena Gomez. The two had sparked dating rumors a couple years earlier when they attended a Chelsea Handler show together, giving us one of the all-time great paparazzi photos. Perry was not there, and rumors quickly emerged that Bloom was cheating on her with Gomez. Those were shut down by Perry herself on Twitter.

She shared a link to an op-ed Bloom wrote about the crisis of education in war-torn countries. Gomez quote-tweeted Perry’s post with the prayer-hands emoji — all was well.

A week after their first dalliance with controversy, Perry hard-launched Bloom on Instagram. We called it “going Instagram official” back then, but it’s all the same thing. These two were officially official.

Does Gen Z know about this? I feel like this was the biggest story in the world for a few days. While vacationing in Italy, Perry and Bloom went paddleboarding in the Mediterranean. She wore a bathing suit, he did not. The paparazzi snapped photos. The censored photos were all over the press, while the uncensored photos went viral on Twitter. I have to say, he looked great. I’m not even talking about his dick. Bloom appeared happy and confident, with the kind of tan no other Englishman has ever been capable of achieving.

“It was extremely surprising,” he later told Elle U.K. “I wouldn’t have put myself in that position if I’d thought it would happen. I’ve been photographed a million times in a million ways. I have a good radar.”

In 2020, Perry recalled the incident with Howard Stern. “It was Europe, and we’d had a pretty chill time for a week,” she explained. “Everywhere we looked it was like, everybody was naked! It was Europe, it was Italy! I think he wanted to fit in with the locals.”

I just felt you guys should know that this happened. Oh, how naïve we were…

Perry and Bloom broke up in February of 2017. In a joint statement to People, reps for both parties said, “Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.”

In March, Perry got on Twitter to dispel rumors that she and Bloom were on bad terms.

A month later, in Elle U.K., Bloom said that the two remained pals. “It’s good. We’re all grown-up. She happens to be someone who is very visible, but I don’t think anybody cares what I’m up to. Nor should they. It’s between us,” he told the magazine.

In August, the two were spotted by a fan at an Ed Sheeran concert. You know, friend stuff.

In February 2018, the pair were seen walking around Prague together. A source told People that they had stayed in touch after their breakup.

“It wasn’t some awful split. They were just busy with their careers and it wasn’t working,” the source said. “In the past few months, they have spent a lot of time together … They are dating, but not necessarily putting a label on it. They are not girlfriend and boyfriend. They do seem very happy together though. Orlando always had the nicest things to say about Katy. He loves spending time with her.”

In April, they met the pope together, which is a funny thing to do with the guy you insist is not your boyfriend.

By September, these two were ready to make their reunion public. They walked the red carpet together for the first time at  the Gala for the Global Ocean at the Opera of Monte-Carlo in Monaco. These two love being in Europe.

On Valentine’s Day 2019, three years after they first met, Bloom proposed to Perry with a ring shaped like a flower. This was cute as hell, and I think “full bloom” was a perfect Instagram caption for the occasion!

“It was Valentine’s Day, and I had to work that day,” Perry later recalled on Capital Breakfast With Roman Kemp. “I just remember meeting him at dinner at this place, this Italian restaurant, because when I get a pass, I just want to stuff my face with pasta. So I get there and, I mean, he’s like clean-shaven. He’s not wearing tennis shoes. I’m like, ‘Ah, shit, something is going down!’ We were ordering everything, and I was like, ‘Who is this person?’”

Bloom then led her to a helicopter and proposed while they were in the air. “We landed on this building and then went downstairs and my family and friends were there and the most flowers you’ve ever seen. It’s like when Kanye does that for Kim, you’re like, ‘Oh my God!’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God!’”

Instead of getting married right away, Perry and Bloom took their time before jumping into wedding planning. If your first marriage ended via text while the documentary cameras were filming, you, too, might take things slow the next time around. They moved in together in March of 2019, and in June, Perry said that they were in no rush to get hitched.

“[We’re] definitely trying to, like, lay the good emotional foundation for the lifetime of commitment, which is, like, a big deal, you know,” Perry said when asked about when she’d be getting married on KISS Breakfast With Tom & Daisy.

In August, Bloom was on the Today show talking about their decision to take their time. “It’s important to me that we are aligned — I’ve been married and divorced, and I don’t want to do it again,” he said. “And we’re both fully aware of that. She’s remarkable, and so I’m always so impressed with that and I’m encouraged.”

The last shot of the video for “Never Worn White” showed Perry cradling a baby bump. If you don’t remember this, it might be because it was March 4, 2020, and it can be hard to access memories from that period of time.

The day after Perry announced her pregnancy, a source told People that her and Bloom’s nuptials were being postponed due to COVID. The couple had reportedly been set to have a 150-person wedding in Japan that summer and Perry was “actually really excited about walking down the aisle pregnant.”

On August 26, 2020, Perry gave birth to a girl, Daisy. The couple announced her arrival through UNICEF’s Instagram page. They’re both Goodwill Ambassadors for the organization and used Daisy’s birth as a chance to shine a light on the health risks posed to pregnant people and newborns around the world. Kind of a cool move from them, to be honest.

Before Perry, Bloom was married to the model Miranda Kerr. They share a son, Flynn, and are apparently really chill about their situation. In July 2021, Perry went to a yoga event for Kerr’s Kora Organics face mist. Doing spon-con with your fiancé’s ex-wife? Talk about a modern family. Bloom himself was delighted to see the two together, and commented, “You guys are the cutest. I mist all the fun,” under Perry’s post.

Following years of media attention for every vacation, quote, and appearance, things seemed to cool down for the couple. Perry kicked off her Vegas residency in January 2022, and Bloom was there to support her. They continued to talk about wedding planning. Both Perry and Boom spoke about the challenges of their relationship and how they work through them.

“We love [couples therapy] because it keeps us in tune,” Perry told Chelsea Handler on the Dear Chelsea podcast in May 2022. “The resentment can get really strong when you’re both working hard. When you want to come back to being normal in a domesticated world where you have a child and stuff like that, you have to really learn how to be kind of different out there in the big and in the small.”

In February 2023, Bloom told Flaunt magazine that their relationship isn’t always easy. “Sometimes things are really, really, really, challenging. I won’t lie. We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity,” he said. “I think we’re both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did.”

As part of the promotional cycle for her upcoming album, 143, Perry has been talking about Bloom in the press. She recently revealed to Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast why they originally split back in 2017.

“We weren’t really in it from day one,” Perry said. “He was because he had just done a huge time of celibacy, and he had set intentions. I was fresh out of a relationship, and I was like, ‘I can’t do this anymore. I need to swim in a different pond,’ but I had to do a lot of real work.”

Bloom apparently spent a week at the Hoffman Institute (a Goop-approved, $5,000 retreat once called “therapy boot camp”) and came back unwilling to play the “cat-mouse game” with Perry anymore. She broke up with him and eventually went to the Hoffman Institute on her own.

“I got the tools and spoke the same language, and it changed my life,” Perry told Cooper. “It saved my life. I would be dead without it. I would not be on this planet without that process — and meditation,” Perry said. She initiated their reconnection shortly afterwards.

This was the same interview in which Perry said that her “love language” is when her partner does the dishes. “If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you’ve done all the dishes, and you’ve closed all the pantry doors, you better be ready to get your dick sucked,” she exclaimed. “I’ve cleaned the whole house,” Bloom later commented on Perry’s post promoting the episode.

Bloom presented Perry with the Video Vanguard award at the VMAs, and she greeted him with a big ol’ kiss. In her speech, Perry thanked Bloom for his support, saying, “Thank you to Orlando for keeping me grounded, celebrated, and doing the dishes.” I officially declare this joke over. That being said, I’m glad these two have each other. Maybe this is finally their year to get married.

  • ‘The Cut’ Review: It’s Not the Punching That Hurts Orlando Bloom, It’s the Dieting

‘The Cut’ Review: It’s Not the Punching That Hurts Orlando Bloom, It’s the Dieting

    [ad_1]

For about five minutes, “The Cut” gives the audience what they’d expect from a movie set in the world of boxing. A fighter played by Orlando Bloom is in the ring, and the action is ferocious, and ferociously photographed in bruising closeups. The punches are thunderous, the blood flows, and you know just what you’re going to get: another tough drama about an over-the-hill boxer getting one last shot at the big time.

And then director Sean Ellis (“Metro Manila,” “Eight for Silver”) and writer Justin Bull pull the rug out from under the audience – because that opening sequence in the ring is the last time boxing action is going to be center stage in “The Cut.” From there, it becomes a boxing drama in which the focus isn’t the fight, it’s the weigh-in, and in which the real violence isn’t the punching, it’s the dieting.

“The Cut,” which had its world premiere on opening night of the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival on Thursday, is also a film in which the heart of the story isn’t found in the sweat and blood that occupy a large chunk of the film; it’s the quiet conversations between the unnamed boxer played by Bloom and his partner and trainer, Caitlin (Catriona Balfe), a couple who are irretrievably bound to the world of boxing but who have no illusions about the price that exacts.

Balfe (“Belfast,” “Outlander”) can be an uncommonly grounded actress, and she and Bloom create a lived-in relationship that humanizes and creates real stakes for the pugilistic histrionics that surround it. His character’s lack of a name may position him as an everyman, but the little moments of their relationship – glances, raised eyebrows, tilted heads – give his couple a specificity and a shared history in a way exposition never could.

When it comes to his professional life, we know that Bloom’s character was called “the Wolf of Dublin” and that he’s the boxer with the highest knockout-to-win ratio in super-welterweight history. But after the opening few minutes of fisticuffs, we return to him 10 years past his last title shot, with the boxer reduced to teaching kids (which he seems happy to embrace) and scrubbing floors (not so much) in the gym owned by Caitlin, the daughter of a legendary trainer who wanted sons, not daughters.

Faster than you can say “Rocky,” the washed-up and beaten-down fighter is offered a title shot; the catch is that it’s in one week away in Las Vegas, and it’s in the 154-pound weight class. The aging Wolf of Dublin weighs 186, and Caitlin, the reasonable sort, doesn’t think there’s any way he can make the weight in time. But he has to try – because, he says, he tried to move on “but that hunger stayed in me.”

“The hunger never leaves you. You have to learn to live with it,” Caitlin implores.

“I can’t,” he says. “I won’t. I just need to get into that ring, and I need you to get me there.”

The over-the-hill fighter with one last shot at the title is a time-honored boxing-movie setup, and Ellis clearly knows that it’ll bring audience expectations of training montages. But you haven’t really seen training montages like the training montages in “The Cut” – which aren’t even montages, because they take up the bulk of the movie.

It turns out that he doesn’t need Caitlin to get him there; in fact, she can’t and won’t get him there, because she cares too much about him to push him to those extremes. And Bloom’s boxer certainly can’t get there on his own: His response to pressure is to head to the vending machine, get a candy bar, gulp it down and then go into the bathroom and force himself to throw up, something Bloom does with entirely unnerving conviction.

The fight promoter, who is not above bending whatever rules he needs to bend, brings in Boz, a pathologically brutal trainer and motivator played by John Turturro with an unhealthy amount of relish. “He doesn’t give a s— about you,” warns Caitlin, and Boz agrees.

“Your girl’s right,” he says. “I don’t give a s— about you. The only thing I care about is winning…. To make the weight, you’re gonna have to take the brakes off.”

Boz is a brutal man with a closet full of demons and effective if sometimes lethal training methods, and Caitlin high-tails it out of Vegas when the boxer goes along with the plan. Before long, the regimen leaves him hallucinating and passing out from 24 hours a day of sweating, running, working out and, oh yeah, taking diuretics and other drugs that’d be illegal if this title bout were to have pre-fight drug tests, which Boz assures him it won’t.

This isn’t your regular boxing-prep footage – it’s hallucinatory, overwrought and insane on a Darren Aronofsky “Requiem for a Dream” level. “We’ll squeeze your damn soul out if we have to,” says Boz, who’d be a total caricature if Turturro didn’t give him enough small glimpses of what might pass for humanity in this particular neighborhood.

Just as “The Cut” finds a relatively new angle on the fight movie, Ellis and editor Mátyás Fekete take a different approach to the training. The usual fast cuts and staccato pacing are dispensed of for the most part, replaced by relentless immersion in something deeply ugly.  There’s nothing triumphant about this prep; it makes you want to look away, not raise your hands in exultation.

As for what happens – well, you have to see it to believe it, and even when you see it you might not believe it.

In recent years, boxing films have often as not justified the form by being as punishing as possible, and there’s plenty of that in “The Cut.” But the film is bookended by quiet scenes between a man and a woman, by beautifully understated performances by Bloom and Balfe. Understatement in a boxing movie? If you look past the savagery of the middle hour, that could be the craziest thing about this new take on an old genre.

‘Red Right Hand’ Review: Orlando Bloom Tries and Fails

    [ad_1]

Orlando Bloom hasn’t been around for a while; now I know why. Photo courtesy of Magnolia Pictures

Red Right Hand, another routine crime-thriller with a title that makes no sense, is a violent and nauseating excuse to entertain the portion of what is left of that dwindling movie audience that lives for nothing more than a lot of posing, crunching and muscle-flexing, not always in the same order. I’ve managed to assign it one star for the risky surprises offered by Orlando Bloom and Andie MacDowell to observe the lengths they go to in hopelessly miscast roles tackled for only one reason: to prove they can act. They fail, but at least they try.

    RED RIGHT HAND (1/4 stars)
Directed by: Eshom Nelms, Ian Nelms
    Written by:Jonathan Easley
Starring: Orlando Bloom, Andie MacDowell, Scott Haze, Chapel Oaks
    Running time: 111 mins.

Mr. Bloom was never much of an actor anyone would applaud or praise. He plays a hard, scarred, working farmer in the backwoods of Appalachia named Cash. The farm was once a prosperous property owned by his late little sister, but now it’s facing bankruptcy because of neglect and poor management by his alcoholic brother-in-law Finney (Scott Haze). Cash has come on board to try and save what’s left of his sister’s land, improving the life of her bright teenage daughter Savannah (newcomer Chapel Oaks), supervising her education, and encouraging her Sunday morning regularity in church. Things progress slowly but positively until the fatal interference of a vicious, ruthless and consummately evil crime boss called Big Cat (Andie MacDowell), who controls everything and everyone in town. Big Cat runs the county and everyone in it and will stop at nothing to nail them to her will. Example: She gives a dinner party, and for after-dinner entertainment, her gang attacks the deputy sheriff, breaks his legs with sledgehammers, and for an encore, she slashes his throat and feeds his remains to a pack of man-eating dogs.

Best not to scrutinize Big Cat’s motivations too closely. They defy credulity. For reasons unexplained, it seems that Cash once worked as one of her thugs, and now she wants him back, but his newly martyred dedication to his niece’s welfare leaves her unhinged. One hour into the movie, things begin to gain momentum—or at least the profane violence, which remains horrible and pointless throughout, gets more interesting. Big Cat has one son she adores.  After his murder, all hell breaks loose and she turns to the preacher for resolution, demanding a clean swap—the life of Savannah’s beloved Uncle Cash for her own. This drives the innocent Savannah to the family arsenal to begin some gunfire of her own. Apparently, she’s learned more about life and death than reading Elsie Dinsmore.

Ordinarily, I wouldn’t bother with a waste of time like Red Right Hand, but this is the stuff they’re making now. If you wait for something worthwhile, you might end up writing about only two or three movies a year. This one teases with the rancid subplots featuring Orlando Bloom and Andie McDowell. He hasn’t been around for a while; now I know why. He has obviously been living in a gym. Gone are the smooth good looks, replaced by a body like a highway of corpuscles. When he speaks the numbing dialogue by Jonathan Easley, he mumbles incoherently, talking to his feet. Ms. McDowell is a bland performer with no range of any importance who has devoted her career to roles that resemble cosmetics commercials. It’s easy to see why playing against type as a cold-blooded villain would add dimensions to her resume. The risk fails on every level. In the end credits, the names of 32 executive producers are listed. Even in a cataclysmic time like this, it’s next door to impossible to believe it takes 32 producers to make a movie as bad as Red Right Hand.

Jeff Bezos Is Having One Heck of a Summer

    [ad_1]

There are no friends quite like yacht friends, those friends who will, when invited, join you on your yacht, or at least near your yacht. Jeff Bezos, a man with a $500 million yacht, has them. They are Katy Perry, her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, and Usher, and they’re all in Croatia, and importantly off the coast of Croatia on a boat (paparazzi photos from the hang only show the group on a smaller boat and not on his actual yacht).

How did all of these people meet? Is there a Raya Friends in beta for billionaires and big-time, A1 celebrities? Or is it a classic Instagram DM situation, the way Hollywood’s finest have connected in the past decade, wherein they see you from across the internet and just ask you to join them on their yacht? Whatever the case, Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are here to make friends, and they seem to have done an excellent job.

The couple have seemingly been at sea since the delivery of their yacht earlier this summer. Bezos recently proposed to his girlfriend of several years, and they had an engagement party off the coast of Positano on the Amalfi Coast earlier this month. Many yacht friends were reportedly there too, like Kris Jenner, Wendi Murdoch, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield. They got two of the Spider-Mans! Bezos and Sanchez seem to be having about as good a summer as Leo himself, or even Ivanka Trump.

Why wait for the Cannes Film Festival or the Venice Film Festival, the Oscars or the Golden Globes, or gala season to party amongst fellow celebrities? Why wait to party when you’ve got the deck space and the crew, and the party can always come to you?

A source told E! that the split was initiated by Perry, but the feeling was mutual. “Katy pulled the plug. It was a few events that happened over the past few months. They both still love each other very much, though, and getting back together could happen once they have some space.” Despite the split, the pair chose to remain friendly to maintain the bond Perry had with his son. “Katy has built a really strong connection with Flynn. They were just busy with their careers and it wasn’t working,” a source told People. “In the past few months, they have spent a lot of time together. They both love traveling and are trying to share as many fun trips as possible. They are dating, but not necessarily putting a label on it. They are not girlfriend and boyfriend. February 2019: Perry announces their engagement.

Just a day after Valentine’s Day, Perry took to Instagram to share an adorable snap of her and her man huddled together. The photo supplied a clear look at her flower-shaped ruby and diamond engagement ring. The ring is reportedly 4.5 karats and had a estimated retail value of a whopping $5 million.

“Orlando had planned this for a while,” a source close to the couple told People. “He wanted it all to be special.” And to accommodate Perry’s more traditional parents, Bloom made sure to ask for permission first before popping the question. “Katy’s family knew he was proposing. He talked to her parents about it before…Katy was very surprised and shaking with happiness…They both want kids together and will prioritize this.”

Perry later spoke about the proposal during a Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp interview. “It was Valentine’s Day and I had to work that day,” she said, via People. “I just remember meeting him at dinner at this place, this Italian restaurant, because when I get a pass, I just want to stuff my face with pasta. So I get there and, I mean, he’s like clean-shaven. He’s not wearing tennis shoes. I’m like, ‘Ah shit, something is going down!’ We were ordering everything, and I was like, ‘Who is this person?!’”

Bloom then took her onto a helicopter after dinner. “I got on a helicopter and he asked me to marry him, and then we landed on this building and then went downstairs and my family and friends were there and the most flowers you’ve ever seen. It’s like when Kanye does that for Kim, you’re like, ‘Oh my God!’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God!’”

March 2019: A source gives insight into the couple’s wedding planning.

About a month post-proposal, a source opened up to People about the vibe of Perry and Bloom’s wedding. The insider said that the pair is “slowly planning their wedding,” but “they don’t have a date yet.”

“Their past weddings [Perry’s to ex-husband Russell Brand and Bloom’s to ex-wife Miranda Kerr] were, of course, very different,” adds the Bloom source. “They are trying to find a middle ground now.” The source also noted, “Orlando always shied away from anything flashy. He doesn’t want a huge, celebrity wedding. But they also have many friends that are important to them. They are still figuring out the details. Katy will work with a planner.”

June 2019: Perry says she’s in no rush to plan her wedding.

The singer made it clear during an interview on KISS Breakfast with Tom & Daisy that she was in no rush to race down the aisle. “Well yeah, one step at a time,” Perry said when asked about a date. “Definitely trying to, like, lay the good emotional foundation for the lifetime of commitment, which is, like, a big deal, you know?”

August 2019: Bloom opens up about his future marriage to Perry.

During an appearance on Today, Bloom spoke about their future, emphasizing a need to connect prior to walking down the aisle. “It’s important to me that we are aligned—I’ve been married and divorced, and I don’t want to do it again,” Bloom shared. “And we’re both fully aware of that. She’s remarkable and so I’m always so impressed with that and I’m encouraged.”

December 2019: Perry and Bloom postpone their wedding.

Us Weekly reported that the couple, who had previously been planning a December wedding, postponed the nuptials. A source told the outlet, “they changed the timing due to the location they want.”

In fact, the couple is reportedly planning two ceremonies in two different locations. “They’re going have one local wedding party, and the other will be a destination wedding party,” a source told Us. Concerns about what the date change may mean for the couple should be kept at bay, the source adding, “They’re beyond in love.”

E! also spoke to a source about why Perry and Bloom are postponing their wedding to 2020. “They wanted to get married quickly but scheduling and pulling everything together has proven to be difficult,” the source said. “The wedding was supposed to be in September, then December and now early next year. They have had to move things around because Katy has grand ideas of where and how she wants things to be.”

“They have the guest list figured out and many of the details,” the source continued. “They hope to have everything finalized soon because they are very excited about getting married.”

January 2020: The couple rings in the new year together.

On New Year’s Eve, Perry shared a photo of herself and Bloom in 2020 glasses while snuggling with their dogs. “when you’re in bed before midnight is when you know you’re starting the new year right #2020,” she captioned the post.

The following day, Perry’s January 2020 Vogue India cover dropped. During the interview, she opened up about how Bloom was “an anchor” for her. “He’s not the No. 1 fan of Katy Perry, but he’s the No. 1 fan of Katheryn Hudson,” she explained, referring to her birth name. She continued, “When we first met, he said we would pull the poison out of each other, and we really do. It’s exhausting, but we really hold each other accountable.”

February 2020: They celebrate a year of engagement.

Perry honored both Valentine’s Day and the one-year anniversary of her engagement to Bloom with a sweet IG post. She shared a series of black-and-white photos from the couple’s engagement party, writing, “one year ago I said yes to a life of love and evolution… and definitely never a dull moment 😜.” Bloom responded, “We don’t do dull doe ❤️.”

April 2020: Perry and Bloom announce they’re having a girl.

Perry posted a photo of her fiancé with pink icing all over his face. “💕 it’s a girl 💕,” she wrote in the caption. The couple is reportedly overjoyed to welcome their daughter into their family and consider her birth something happy to look forward to during the coronavirus global pandemic.

“They are both so excited about having a baby. They are also ecstatic that it’s a girl,” a source told People. “They love that they have this amazing, positive thing to focus on right now. It’s such a happy distraction for them. Katy really hopes everything has calmed down with the virus by the time the baby will be born this summer.”

On the heels of Perry and Bloom’s gender reveal, a source told People that the couple is preparing to be parents during quarantine. “It’s a stressful time for them like for most people,” the insider told People. “They’re also spending every day together. They are used to having their separate careers and not being on top of each other every day.” The source said that while they “have disagreements and conflicts like all couples,” they are “not a big deal,” adding, “Katy, of course, has concerns about giving birth for the first time—especially since things are so uncertain right now. [But] they are very excited.”

May 2020: Perry gives a quarantine couple update.

While on SiriusXM Hits 1’s The Morning Mash Up to promote her new single, “Daisies,” Perry spoke about staying at home with Bloom during the pandemic. “What I have actually learned, some of the positive…because he’s seen it all, and God bless him, he’s still here,“ she said. “It’s amazing and commendable. I have definitely tested him, like…‘oh yeah, you think you can handle me?’”

She also touched on the activities they’re doing while homebound. “We have a LEGO room in our house. It was a TV room,” she said. “He gets these Legos that are super hard to do… and he’ll make those in two days and then he displays them on the wall, like a championship Lego wall. I was like ‘oh, you’re a lot handier than I thought you were. Can you hang this thing for me, please?’”

June 2020: Perry recalls her struggles following a past breakup from Bloom.

During an interview with radio show Q on CBC, Perry got candid about her mental health following a split from Bloom in 2017. Perry told Power, via Daily Mail and CNN, that “my career was on this trajectory when it was going up, up and up and then I had the smallest shift, not that huge from an outside perspective, but for me, it was seismic,” she said. “They say if a ship is one degree off from their navigation, they’ll land on a different continent.” Perry added, “I had given so much out, and it literally broke me in half. I had broken up with my boyfriend, who is now my baby daddy-to-be. And then I was excited about flying high off the next record. But the validation did not make me high, and so I just crashed.”

Perry said she even contemplated taking her own life during this period. “Gratitude is probably the thing that saved my life, because if I didn’t find that I would have wallowed in my own sadness and probably just jumped,” she said. “But I found the ways to be grateful. If it gets really, really hard I walk around and say, ‘I am grateful, I am grateful!’ even though I am in a shitty mood.”

July 2020: Perry confirms she won’t wed Bloom in 2020.

Perry spoke about her relationship with Bloom during a wide-ranging interview with Howard Stern. “He’s the only one that could handle it and that’s why we’re in this position,” she explained about her personality and dynamic with Bloom, via E!. “I showed him all of it. And I still test him and he still shows up and he still is not fazed by it and that’s why he is perfect for me—because I’m a lot!”

She also confirmed that after the coronavirus pandemic cancelled wedding plans around the world, she and Bloom would not marry this year. “We cannot plan anymore in 2020, because those plans are always canceled,“ she admitted, dispelling rumors of two ceremonies. “I honestly, never heard of the other wedding, I only knew of one wedding. Of course, that will come in the future, but for now, we want to deliver a healthy child. And that’s what’s coming up.”

August 2020: Perry speaks about she and Bloom’s rocky journey to parenthood.

For the latest issue of People, Perry got candid about her relationship with Bloom, including past breakups and their excitement for a new baby. “It’s really about an individual journey that makes the whole thing better. We both had to decide to go on that journey separately because it’s not my half and your half that makes a whole,” Perry told the outlet. “It’s my wholeness and your wholeness that makes this whole thing happen.”

According to the outlet, the track “Champagne Problems,“ off Perry’s upcoming Smile album addresses their challenges as a couple. “It’s a song that really talks about how intense it’s gotten and how many things we have had to go through. Yes, we have problems. Everybody has challenges in a relationship,” she explained. “If it’s a real relationship, it’s going to challenge you into your best self. I really understand what Justin Timberlake said about, ‘You’re my mirror,’ because it’s true. They bring up all this stuff you can’t really see about yourself.”

She continued, “It’s a never-ending evolution, so it’s not peachy-keen jelly bean all the time, but it’s nice to have been able to show each other all the good, bad and everything in between, and really fight for our best selves. Now, we just joke, like yeah, we still have things to work out—but champagne problems! We’ve gotten through a lot of hell.”

As for becoming a parent, Perry told People there are several qualities she hopes her daughter will inherit from Bloom. “Of course you admire someone that usually has traits you want more of. I want to be more spiritual and more centered, and that’s him,” she explained. “He wants to be more organized and good with thinking about big picture stuff. Those are traits that we really aspire to learn about each other.”

As for their elusive wedding, Perry told the outlet, “I tried to do it this year and it poo poo-ed on me so ask me again in another year! I went through the whole freakin’ process. Right now, we’re just so focused on this [pregnancy], which is exciting. Let’s hope [2021] is different than ’20.”

UNICEF announced the birth of Daisy Dove Bloom on Instagram. Perry and Bloom are Goodwill Ambassadors for the charitable organization.

“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” said the couple in a statement.

October 2020: Bloom calls Daisy his “mini-me.”

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the actor spoke about which parent his newborn daughter resembles most. While Bloom admitted that Daisy shares traits from both parents, he confirmed that she did in fact get Perry’s gorgeous eyes.

“Fortunately she got those Katy blues, which was perfect,” said Bloom “But then she sort of looked like a bit like my mum so then I got a little bit confused because Katy’s breast feeding this mini-me/my mum/who’s she going to look like next?”

January 2021: Bloom is emotional following Perry’s performance at Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Speaking to Flaunt magazine, Bloom explained how being in different creative industries has affected his relationship with Perry.

“We’re in two very different pools,” Bloom said. “Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands. Sometimes things are really, really, really, challenging. I won’t lie. We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity.”

Despite those battles, Bloom clarified that he and Perry feel lucky to have one another. “I think we’re both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did,” he added. “And there’s definitely never a dull moment.”

July 2023: They’re caught snapping a pic of a passionate kiss.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s Sobriety Pact Is Dunzo

    [ad_1]

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are taking a break. Together.

    Kind of.

The entertainer shared an update in a story published Wednesday on the “pact” she made with fiancé Bloom back in March, that neither would drink for three months. In late March, she told People that she had been “five weeks sober” while fake-weeping at a “curated cocktail event.” For those familiar with the calendar, three months minus five weeks plus March equals….I don’t know, a bit ago? Three months is over, we’re living that Q3 lifestyle, so how’s that sobriety thing going now, Katy?

“For me, it was an opportunity to reset,” she told People. “We reset after President’s Day, and it was a great opportunity to just let my body bounce back a little bit.” She says that she’s “had a pretty good relationship with just finding balance.”

Coincidentally, we’re sure, Perry’s non-alcoholic apéritifs label, De Soi, just introduced a new flavor.

Perry’s description of the current situation, which she said originally started as a supportive agreement between herself and Bloom while he shoots a demanding film role in London, sounds a little less like a “sobriety pact” and more like “I’m a 38-year-old mother who has work tomorrow”: She told the magazine that she’s “not really drinking” on weeknights, “but on the weekend I’ll indulge a little bit.”

She said that it’s “really hard to do anything, whether that’s doing a cleanse or a reset, unless your partner’s doing it. So doing it together makes it so much easier.”

The singer is gearing up for more performances in her Las Vegas residency throughout August and October.

Orlando Bloom Makes a Surprise Trip to Ukraine to Visit President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Orlando Bloom made a surprise trip to Kyiv, Ukraine over the weekend.

The actor, who was last in the country in 2016, visited a children’s center and met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as part of his work as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, the United Nations children’s organization. Bloom shared a carousel of images of himself playing with a few of the kids on his Instagram account on Sunday, writing, “I would have never expected the war to have escalated throughout the country since I was there. But today I was fortunate to hear children’s laughter at a @UNICEF supported Spilno center, a safe, warm and nurturing space for children to play, learn and receive psychosocial support. Spilno means ‘together’ in Ukrainian and there are over 180 of these centers here. The one I visited today was built deep down in the metro to ensure their safety. For a few hours every day, parents can drop off their young children and give them a sense of normalcy to play games and just be kids. There was also lots of art supplies and craft materials, which allows them to creatively express themselves, away from the pressures of growing up in a war zone. Children in Ukraine need their childhoods back.”

President Zelenskyy also shared a video of himself with the Pirates of the Caribbean star on Instagram. He wrote in the caption, “The war is destroying the childhood of Ukrainian children. Thousands of schools in Ukraine have been damaged or completely destroyed. Almost 2.7 million Ukrainian schoolchildren are forced to study online or in a mixed format. About 1.5 million Ukrainian boys and girls are at risk of developing depression, anxiety and other psychological problems. We all know what this aggression has brought and how full-scale the world’s efforts must be to stop it, to rebuild Ukraine after the war.” He concluded, “During the meeting, we discussed humanitarian aid projects, issues of reconstruction focused specifically on the interests of children. @unicef and our teams will work in several directions, bring victory closer and return a happy childhood to Ukrainian children.”

And prior to arriving in Ukraine, Bloom also made another stop on his trip, visiting the Czech Republic to meet with President Petr Pavel. On Friday, the president shared on Instagram that he had “met with the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Orlando Bloom. We talked about the impact of the war in Ukraine on Ukrainian children.” Pavel went on to urge the actor to “please keep doing the important work you are doing in highlighting the terrible war atrocities committed against Ukrainian children by the Russian occupiers.”
