HS4 AT MIDNIGHT has been the bold topic on everyone’s FYP for years now, resurfacing every few months whenever there’s even a glimmer of hope that Harry Styles might be making his comeback. And then, just a few weeks ago, the nearly nine-minute video for ‘Forever, Forever’ dropped, and suddenly our senses were tingling. We could practically feel the feather boa making its way back around our necks. And now, it’s finally time.
The GRAMMY-winning global superstar has officially confirmed his fourth studio album, KISS ALL THE TIME. DISCO, OCCASIONALLY., set to be released on the sixth of March, 2026. The 12-track project is executive produced by Kid Harpoon, and while details are still deliciously scarce, the title alone feels like a thesis statement. Romantic. Slightly chaotic. Extremely Harry.

Leaving HARRYS HOUSE For The Disco, After Three Years
It’s been three years since Harry last released an album, and while a lot of artists disappear quietly between eras, Harry Styles very much did not. Instead, he took on a series of side quests that just happened to go viral. So, as we officially leave HARRYS HOUSE and join the disco, we did what any reasonable publication would do: pulled out our imaginary bingo cards and checked off everything we absolutely did not see coming during his time away from the spotlight.
Running Marathons (Plural)
Let’s start strong. Harry Styles casually becoming a marathon runner does make sense, but still – it was not on our bingo cards. Harry ran both the Tokyo and Berlin marathons. No promo. No dramatic announcement. Just Harry Styles, quietly doing 26.2 miles like it was a Sunday errand. If KISS ALL THE TIME. DISCO, OCCASIONALLY. has even a fraction of that discipline baked into it, we may not be ready.

Parallel Parking A Fan’s Car
In perhaps one of the most iconic Harry Styles moments imaginable (as if he’s not an icon securing a legendary status), he was spotted parking a fan’s car. We get it, parallel parking is hard, and parallel parking in the city of Rome is a skill so few have. And unfortunately for Harry, neither did he. Although we completely respect the wholesome intentions.
Spotted In The Wild
The internet’s favourite man is, after all, just a man. He has errands to run and places to go. And some viral moments came from fans spotting Harry out in the wild across cities in Europe. He was spotted biking around Berlin or roaming around Roman flea markets. Logging onto socials during a spotting felt like watching the Discovery Channel. Throughout Harry’s Love On Tourshows, we saw him grace the stage in bold, glittery outfits. The tour gave us satellite stompers (iykyk, and own a pair), along with colourful jumpsuits that became his uniform. So naturally, when we see Harry in a simple tee and shorts, swapping the stadium stage for the streets, we have to double-take.
Witnessing The Announcement Of The New Pope in Italy
In the smallest city in the world on one of the most famous days of 2025, Harry was spotted under a grey baseball cap that read ‘Techno is My Boyfriend.’ In May of last year, Harry Styles joined the crowd at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City for the announcement of Pope Leo XIV. His appearance went viral, with everyone surprised and amused at his low-profile attendance at such a significant event. We love the nonchalant nature of this side quest for Harry.
So, What Does This Mean for the New KISS ALL THE TIME. DISCO, OCCASIONALLY Era?
If Harry’s time away taught us anything, it’s that this next era might be less about spectacle and more about intention. The album title alone suggests contrast. We’re thinking romance meets rhythm, intimacy meets movement, softness meets disco. And with Kid Harpoon once again in the creative driver’s seat, expectations are (understandably) sky-high. We don’t know what KISS ALL THE TIME. DISCO, OCCASIONALLY. will sound like yet. But if the past three years were any indication, it’s going to feel lived-in, confident, and very Harry Styles.
Of course, we couldn’t fit in every side-quest Harry went on in 2025, but it all leads to the release of HS4 KISS ALL THE TIME. DISCO, OCCASIONALLY. As we look forward to Harry’s upcoming music, we want to know what your favorite side-quest Harry went on in the past three years was? With gratitude to Benson Boone for keeping the seat warm these past few years, Harry Styles appears to be ready to reclaim his rightful place as crown prince of the pop girlies (who also happens to dance like a car dealership blowup guy who has been freed of tethers for flip mobility purposes, which, to be clear, is a positive thing). Styles announced the title, cover art, and release date of his new album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, on Thursday via an Instagram post.
The album, his first since 2022’s Harry’s House, will be released on March 6. The cover art he shared features Styles with a cropped haircut putting on sunglasses in the lower left corner, while at the center of the image, a disco ball hangs from the heavens, illuminating a dusky outdoor vista.
The new album announcement comes hot on the heels of Monday’s reveal that Styles has booked a second Madison Square Garden residency, though details such as timing and number of shows have not yet been announced. In late summer 2022, Styles played 15 sold out concerts at the arena as part of his Love On Tour shows.
Most importantly of all, this Harry-ssance is another proof point in the working theory that time is a flat circle and that 2026 is, in fact, just 2016: The Sequel. Consider: In 2016, Styles was gearing up for a solo album (his first). 2026: New solo album coming. 2016: The year that his signature flowing mane of hair got the chop, to many fans’ dismay. 2026: That album photo has a breezy lil short ‘do, no? 2016: Styles was in Dunkirk. 2026: Real life has us teetering on the brink of civil and/or international warfare pretty much every day. 2016: Benny Boone turned 14. 2026: Thanks for keeping the throne warm, champ. We owe you one.

Perrie Edwards has burst into tears while recalling the fallout from her split with Zayn Malik in Girlbands Forever.
The former Little Mix star, 32, began crying and asked the cameras to stop rolling during the latest episode of the show.
Perrie explains how the public scrutiny and abuse from online trolls became almost too much to bear.
The pop star had been engaged to One Direction star Zayn for two years when their romance hit the skids. And although its claimed Zayn dumped her by text, Perrie bore the brunt thanks to bitter 1D fans.

Girlbands Forever: Perrie Edwards on her split with Zayn Malik
Perrie says in the documentary: “You’re hurting enough as it is, never mind everyone having an opinion on it. Everyone wants to know your business and feels like they have ownership of it. You can’t escape it.”
The show goes on to explain how Little Mix soon released Shout Out To My Ex. The single was Perrie’s way of seeking revenge on Zayn. It is still to this date the band’s best selling single.
“You may as well sing about it,” Perrie says.
Perrie Edwards’ mental health battle
But the fallout from Perrie’s break-up with Zayn had a huge effect on her. By 2017, Little Mix were in the midst of a world tour and were due to fly to Las Vegas. Perrie, however, hit rock bottom.
She remembers: “It is hard to deal with things like that publicly. It just hurt and I went through a lot behind the scenes. It does have a huge impact on your mental health.”
Perrie goes on to explain how she ended up in hospital on a drip once in Vegas. She is left in tears as she remembers the pressures she felt “letting down” bandmates, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson (the latter of whom was still in the group).
“I didn’t want to go,” Perrie says. “I was so exhausted. I tried getting out of the trip and when I got there, I started experiencing panic attacks. I ended up in the hospital and on a drip.
“I didn’t want to let the girls down. They had to do it without me and I hated it.” Starting to cry, she continues: “When you’re in a group dynamic, even though you’re going through stuff individually, you can’t then be selfish.
“I tried to put on a brave face a lot of the time. I didn’t want to let the team down.”
Perrie is then comforted by a Girlbands Forever crew member.

Girlbands Forever: Tulisa Contostavlos
Episode 3 of Girlbands Forever features Tulisa Contostavlos. The former N-Dubz star was a judge on The X Factor in 2011 when Little Mix was formed. She was also the girlband’s mentor on the show.
Tulisa says: “I wanted to find the next great band because that is what I knew and what I felt I’d be good at. They were really adorable. They had this really sweet innocence about them.
“I knew the struggle it would take to crack a girlband. But I was ready for the challenge.”
Tulisa says she pushed back on show management who wanted to “sass them up” in heels. “They needed to be really relatable,” she explains.
Does Perry still speak to Tulisa?
Little Mix announced their split in 2020. It came two years after Jesy had quit the band. But does Perrie still speak to Tulisa? The good news is yes, she does!
Last month, Tulisa shared a supportive Instagram post when Perrie released her debut, self-titled album. She wrote: “The lil’ muffin tuned queen. So proud.” Tulisa used to fondly refer to Little Mix as her ‘muffins’ during The X Factor.
Perrie had also spoken about Tulisa weeks before. She told The Independent that being on the ITV show was an “emotional rollercoaster:” She added: “But luckily we had Tulisa. And Tulisa was so passionate about us not being led to a place we didn’t want to go.
“If there was anything, we’d just go crying to her. She was so hands-on, she would get involved straight away.” Perrie added: “Tulisa was at the house, making our dinner. Roast dinners, curried goat. She invited us over to her apartment a lot. She was like a big sister.”

Now Louis Tomlinson has spoken up for the first time since the demise of his dear mate and shared how much of a ‘misunderstood’ person the singer was, and that he only sought validation in the form of love from his peers, fans, and everyone around him.

If people ever judged his temper or behavior… he was simply someone who wanted to be loved.” It is known that Liam Payne would struggle with substance usage and had faced the wrath of online haters, which affected his health. At the time of his passing, he was in a relationship with Kate Cassidy and shared parenting duties of his son, Bear Grey, with his ex-girlfriend, Cheryl.
Meanwhile, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik recently announced a joint project after burying the hatchet over their troubled friendship post the latter’s exit from the team. The two singers will be touring around the US for a three-part Netflix docu-series, talking about their relationship, time together in One Direction, the passing of their mate, fatherhood, and their complex musical careers. The untitled show will seemingly air sometime next year, albeit further details are to be announced as well. Fans are excited for their reunion following years-long public spats on social media. It is not known whether Harry Styles or Niall Horan will have any involvement in it, although the same seems unlikely.

If there’s one thing about us here at The Honey Pop, it’s that we LOVE our artists with accents. One Direction, 5SOS, The Academic, Yungblud, the list goes on and on! The list, however, would NOT be complete without New Rules. If you’re new to the group, or if you’re a long-time fan, we are here to give you the top four New Rules songs that you NEED to add to your playlist. Buckle up, rule number one for New Rules is you must be prepared for every emotion imaginable.
‘Really Wanna Dance With You’
This song is giving hopeless romance in the cheesiest way possible. It’s about seeing someone across the room and debating how to approach them, but overthinking it. Let’s be honest – we’ve all been there. In the verses and the music video, however, it works out! Add this song to give you the luck and confidence you may need the next time you “really wanna” dance with someone.
“And my shoes stuck to the floor
And the bell rang for last call.”
‘Drunk Texts’
We are going to drop the mood a bit for this one, so be ready to stare out of the window and pretend you are in a movie. Between the soft guitar and the harmonies, this song hits us directly in the chest, and when the lyrics are added, that feeling increases tenfold. It perfectly encapsulates the feeling of losing someone and having no idea where you went wrong, but only knowing that you miss the person deeply. If you are a fan of Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi, and crying, this song is the perfect addition to your playlist. (We are giving you the acoustic version to hit even harder <3)
“I die a hundred times
Anytime I see your face”
‘Go The Distance’
Long-distance has to be one of the most difficult hurdles some people have to jump in a relationship. This song addresses that topic, but manages to maintain a hopeful tone with upbeat instrumentals that encourage listeners to dance. If you have a soft spot for ‘Beside You’ by 5 Seconds of Summer, this song follows a very similar theme! We highly recommend ‘Go The Distance’ to go on your road trip playlist! This is for sure one of the most bittersweet New Rules songs to exist.
“Wherever you are, I won’t let you go
We’ll go the distance”
‘ONE LESS WORRY’
Break-ups are never easy. ‘ONE LESS WORRY’ takes this and tries to find the positive in the negative. It talks about losing someone, but also losing the need to always worry about them. It goes back and forth between the pros and cons of no longer having to worry about that person. This highlights how recovering from a breakup is far from linear. It’s a beautiful piece that would be a good addition to any playlist (especially if it’s a playlist containing some stellar vocals!)
“And sometimes I don’t miss you
But I really have to try”
These four New Rules songs can fit into almost any playlist. They can even make a playlist of their own, as when played in order, they tell a story from falling in love to breaking up. Let us know what your other favorite New Rules songs are @TheHoneyPop!

More Details On The Three Individuals Investigated
On Thursday, November 7, Clarín, an Argentine news outlet, published an update about the investigation into the singer’s death. Furthermore, the outlet reported that The National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office of Buenos Aires executed a search on “multiple locations.” This reportedly included the hotel where Payne was found deceased and “other properties located in Retiro, Tigre and Lomas de Zamora.”
Additionally, the outlet shared that police “are now seeing an Argentine friend” of Payne. Payne’s phone was reportedly searched after his death, and police determined the singer’s friend may be the “possible” supplier of the “substances [Payne] ingested before his death.”
Lastly, the outlet notes that two employees of Hotel Casa Sur de Palermo are also being investigated by police. Furthermore, Clarín notes that the homes of each employee have been raided. One of the two employees was reportedly “fired shortly after the incident.”
To note, ABC News reports that all three individuals have been detained by authorities. E! News has reportedly reached out to Buenos Aires authorities for comment.
More Details On The Passing Of Liam Payne
As The Shade Room previously reported, Payne was discovered deceased on October 16. At the time, authorities speculated he had fallen from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room. Additionally, authorities were uncertain if Payne’s fall was intentional or accidental.
A preliminary autopsy report determined Payne passed away from multiple injuries. This reportedly included internal and external hemorrhaging, per The Shade Room. Additionally, Clarín notes that Payne was found with “pink cocaine” in his body, along with “cocaine, benzodiazepines, and crack.”

Earlier this week, results of the post-mortem into Payne’s death were published, stating he had died of multiple trailers and “internal and external haemorrhage.”
The BBC reports that his father Geoff is still in Buenos Aires, where he is finishing the necessary administration to bring his son home to the UK. Geoff arrived in the capital last Friday where he visited the morgue, and also the hotel where Payne died. On his way out he stopped to look at the many tributes to his son and spoke to fans gathered there.

Mendes, 26, addressed the audience at the Paramount Theater on Friday, October 18, and said the news of Payne’s death two days before felt “completely devastating,” according to social media footage found online.
“I got to meet Liam a couple of times, and he was a beautiful soul and his eyes gleamed, it was beautiful,” the singer-songwriter told the crowd. “It’s about grieving those we miss with tears and it’s also about celebrating them and who they were and what they left in this world and I just want to take a second to send so much love to him wherever he is up there. Liam, we love you. The world is crying for you, brother, and we’re all praying for your son and your family. I miss you. This one’s for you tonight, Liam, from all of us.”
Billboard reported Friday that Mendes followed his remarks with a performance of his new song “Heart of Gold,” which he dedicated to Payne. The song’s chorus includes the lyrics “You had a heart of gold / You left too soon, it was out of your control/ Underneath your skin and bone / You had a heart of gold.”

In the wake of Liam Payne’s tragic passing, his ex-fiancée Maya Henry’s latest interviews are being scrutinized for clues about Payne’s mental health. The police have not yet ruled whether his death was accidental or intentional, but news that 911 was called because of Payne’s disruptive behavior has led fans to hyper-focus on anything that could provide a clue as to Payne’s behavior before his tragic passing.
Henry, who broke off her engagement to Payne in 2022 due to his cheating, claimed in the latest episode of ‘The Internet is Dead’ podcast that Payne would often predict his death. Henry also called out Payne’s manipulative tactics. She took legal action against him last week, issuing a cease-and-desist letter after accusing him of repeatedly contacting her and her family.
What did Payne tell Henry before his death? Did he predict what was going to happen?
Liam Payne’s last words before death
Henry went into details on the podcast, talking about how Payne kept messaging her after their breakup, explaining how messages were a variation of “Oh, I’m not well,” and adding that “He would always play with death and be like, ‘Well, I’m going to die. I’m not doing well.’”
“There was one time I tried to get him help and then he was not taking it,” Henry continued, adding that the cycle kept repeating. “He would text my mom, ‘I’m not doing well, have Maya contact me,’ because I wouldn’t respond.”
In May, Henry released a book, Looking Forward, inspired by true events. One of the accounts from the book seems to indicate the singer reached out to Henry’s mom saying “I’m not going to be around much longer.”
For Henry, these words were no joke, which she made clear in the podcast. “I don’t play with death. If you say this, I’m going to try and help you no matter what you’ve done. I think he took advantage of my family’s kindness.” Payne’s ex also made it clear the singer’s mental health was concerning, saying he’d “gotten so much worse.” She didn’t go into details, likely because of the fact that she’d already taken legal action, but did recall Payne saying: ‘I’m so sorry for everything I’ve done. I can’t live with myself,’ but then is continuing to try and traumatize me.”
Payne had been open about his struggles with addiction during his time in One Direction. Henry also recalled how she tried to get Payne into rehab. “I know the lifestyle he lives, and there is a day when something bad is going to happen, so I would always be like, ‘OK, he’s saying these things, I have to help him because if I don’t, I won’t be able to live with myself if something does happen to him,” she said. But ultimately, the influencer could not help Payne, it was up to him to help himself.
Henry has not made any public statement about Payne’s death.
The former One Direction band member was in Argentina to attend a Niall Horan concert. He passed away after falling from a hotel balcony in the neighborhood of Palermo, in Buenos Aires. Authorities in Argentina have said they will perform an autopsy and investigate the causes of his death.
According to the Daily Mail, a fan identified as Rebecca reported that Payne was hanging at the hotel lobby and told fans about his time in One Direction. “‘I used to be in a boy band — that’s why I’m so f–ked up,’” she claimed Payne told her during her 30-minute interaction with the singer in the hotel lobby.

After the release of One Direction’s joint statement, the bandmates slowly shared individual tributes to Payne on their social media accounts.
“I first met Liam when he was 16 and I was 18, I was instantly amazed by his voice but more importantly as time went on I got a chance to see the kind brother I’d longed all my life for,” Tomlinson, 32, wrote. “Liam was an incredible song writer with a great sense of melody, we often spoke of getting back in the studio together to try and recreate the writing chemistry we had built up in the band.”
Tomlinson called Payne “the most vital part of One Direction” and thanked him for shaping the band.
The singer then extended a personal message to Payne, “if you’re listening.”
Tomlinson said he is “beyond lucky” to have had Payne in his life but is “really struggling with the idea of saying goodbye.”
“Reminiscing about all the thousands of amazing memories we had together is a luxury I thought I’d have with you for life,” he continued. “I would have loved to share the stage with you again but it wasn’t to be.”
Payne and Tomlinson have both admitted to having an occasionally tense relationship while they were members of One Direction. During an infamous interview on Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive, Payne in 2022 said he and Tomlinson despised one another to the point of physical arguments.

Tomlinson said he and Payne became closer friends after One Direction announced its hiatus in 2015.
Zayn Malik
Malik said he’s been “talking out loud” to Payne since news of his death.
“I can’t help but think selfishly that there are so many more conversations for us to have in our lives.” Malik, 31, wrote. “I never got to thank you for supporting me through some of the most difficult times in my life.”
“When I was missing home as a 17 year old kid you would always be there with a positive outlook and reassuring smile and let me know that you were my friend and that I loved,” he remembered.

Malik said he admired Payne, despite the fact that they “butted heads” often in their youth.
“I always secretly respected you for it,” Malik revealed of their arguments.
The Pillowtalk singer said Payne was always the most “qualified” musician and member of One Direction.
“I lost a brother when you left us and can’t explain to you what I’d give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I loved and respected you dearly,” Malik concluded. “I will cherish all the memories I have with you in my heart forever, there is no words that justify or explain how I feel right now other than beyond devastated.”
Malik suddenly left One Direction in 2015, and the band members continued for several months without him before announcing their hiatus.
He and Payne had a tumultuous relationship, which Payne spoke about — and later apologized for — on the Impaulsive podcast.
Earlier this year, Malik said he was grateful to be a part of One Direction, but wished he had “enjoyed” the experience more in his younger years.
“I’m grateful that I’m able to be happier now,” Zayn said in an interview.

“He was warm, supportive, and incredibly loving,” Styles said of Payne. “The years we spent together will forever remain among the most cherished years of my life.”
Styles said his “heart breaks” for Payne’s family members, his son and “all those around the world who knew him and loved him, as I did.”

In a 2022 interview with Zane Lowe, ahead of the release of his album Harry’s House, Styles reminisced about the One Direction years. He recalled the first time the bandmates’ photo together was published in a local newspaper, and how “happy” the then-teenagers were over the little success.
Niall Horan
The last One Direction member to share a tribute to Payne was Horan, who was also the band member to meet Payne in person most recently.

Two weeks ahead of his death, Payne attended Horan’s stadium concert in Argentina. Payne was seen dancing in a private box at the venue ahead of and during the show, then met with Horan afterward.
In a statement posted to social media Friday, Horan said he is “devastated by the passing of my amazing friend, Liam.”
Horan, 31, said he feels “fortunate” to have seen Payne recently.
“I sadly didn’t know that after saying goodbye and hugging him, I would be saying goodbye forever,” he wrote. “It’s heartbreaking.”
Horan said Payne’s death “just doesn’t feel real.”
“Liam had an energy for life and a passion for work that was infectious,” he continued. “He was the brightest in every room and always made everyone feel happy and secure.”
“All the laughs we had over the years, sometimes about the simplest of things, keep coming to mind through the sadness,” Horan wrote. “We got to live out our wildest dreams together and I will cherish every moment we had forever. The bond and friendship we had doesn’t happen often in a lifetime.”
Niall extended well wishes to Payne’s family and thanked his bandmate for “everything.”
Horan said he has “a good outlook on things, looking back” and was grateful he “didn’t lose the plot along the way.”
Who was Liam Payne?
The members of One Direction met in 2010 on the U.K. singing competition The X Factor, when judges including Simon Cowell paired the then-teenage boys together in a group act.
Payne had already auditioned for The X Factor two years prior but was eliminated early on. His successful second attempt at 16 years old positioned Payne as a leader among the five One Direction boys, known for their rowdy shenanigans.
One Direction’s success was explosive. Until the band announced its hiatus in 2015, the members’ faces could commonly be found plastered on the bedroom walls of teenagers around the world.
Today, those fans are mourning the death of their parasocial relationships with Payne, alongside the One Direction members, who lost a beloved “brother.”
Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Harry Styles of One Direction have spoken out in reaction to the passing of Liam Payne. Additionally, the group has shared a joint statement.

On Thursday, October 17, Malik took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of himself and Payne. In the photo, Malik is seen resting on Payne’s lap as Payne places a hand over him. The pair appeared to be sleeping.
Additionally, Malik’s posts included a follow-up slide that featured a lengthy message he penned in tribute to his bandmate.
“Liam, I have found myself talking out loud to you, hoping you can hear me, I can’t help but think selfishly that there was so many more conversations for us to have in our lives. I never got to thank you for supporting me through some of the most difficult times in my life,” Malik wrote. “…Even though you were younger than me you were always more sensible than me, you were headstrong, opinionated, and gave no f***s about telling people when they were wrong. Even though we butted heads because of this a few times… I always secretly respected you for it.”
Malik explained that he “lost a brother” with Payne’s passing.
“…can’t explain what I’d give to just hug you one last time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I loved and respected you dearly,” Malik wrote. “…there is no words to justify or explain how I feel right now other than beyond devastated…”

“I am beyond devastated to be writing this but yesterday I lost a brother. Liam was somebody I looked up to everyday, such a positive, funny, and kind soul… Liam was an incredible song writer with a great sense of melody, we often spoke of getting back in the studio together to try and recreate the writing chemistry we had built up in the band. And for the record, Liam was in my opinion the most vital part of One Direction. His experience from a young age, his perfect pitch, his stage presence, his gift for writing. The list goes on. Thank you for shaping us Liam,” Tomlinson wrote.
Before concluding, Tomlinson shared a message for Payne.
“A message to you Liam if you’re listening,” he wrote. “I feel beyond lucky to have had you in my life but I’m really struggling with the idea of saying goodbye. I’m so grateful that we got even closer since the band, speaking on the phone for hours , reminiscing about all the thousands of amazing memories we had together is a luxury I thought I’d have with you for life. More Details On The Passing Of Liam Payne
As The Shade Room previously reported, Liam Payne passed away on Wednesday, October 16. The 31-year-old reportedly fell from the third-floor balcony of CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Argentina.
On Thursday, October 17, authorities in Argentina released preliminary details about Payne’s passing, per The Shade Room. According to AP News, Pablo Policicchio, the communications director for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry, stated that Payne allegedly “jumped” from his balcony. However, a subsequent report published by US Weekly asserts that authorities have yet to determine whether his death was intentional or accidental.
Furthermore, the singer’s preliminary autopsy reportedly asserted he passed away from “internal and external hemorrhage.”
One Direction fans around the world are mourning Liam Payne, sharing memories and tributes to the singer after his shocking death on Wednesday.
Payne, 31, died after he fell from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Paramedics arrived at the scene, but Payne suffered “extremely serious injuries,” including a skull fracture, local health officials said. Resuscitation was not possible.
An autopsy report released Thursday revealed Payne died of multiple serious injuries and “internal and external bleeding” as a result of the balcony fall. The report alleged that alcohol, drugs and destroyed furniture were discovered in Payne’s hotel room.

Before his death, a hotel employee contacted local emergency services to report a guest who had “overindulged on drugs and alcohol.” Though the employee never identified Payne by name, a transcript of the call said staff requested urgent help about a guest “breaking” things in their room.
The hotel employee told 911 they were “afraid” the unnamed man “might do something life-threatening” because there was a balcony in his suite.
Payne’s body was found in the hotel’s courtyard. TMZ was the first North American outlet to report news of his death and shared several cropped photos of Payne’s body — a decision highly criticized by fans and celebrities alike, who have accused the tabloid of being “morally decrepit.” TMZ has since removed the photos from coverage of Payne’s death.
Since then, speculation and misinformation surrounding the singer’s death have swirled online, including a bogus video of a man purported to be Payne falling from a window circulating on social media.

Liam Payne’s final days
Two weeks ahead of his death, Payne attended a stadium concert for his fellow One Direction bandmate Niall Horan in Argentina.
Payne engaged with fans from a private box in the arena and danced along to the pre-show playlist. Recordings of the star at Horan’s show went viral on social media and brought on mass criticism and cyberbullying for Payne, who some claimed was seeking attention.
In a video ahead of the show, Payne said on Snapchat that he was hoping to talk to Horan after the concert “to square up a couple of things.”
“No bad vibes or anything like that,” he clarified. “But just we need to talk.”
The former boy banders reunited backstage, and Payne posted a photo with Horan to his Snapchat account on Oct. 2.

Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy shared an edited video of compiled footage of the couple and their friends at Horan’s show.
Payne and Cassidy stayed in South America to vacation after attending Horan’s concert.
He documented much of his trip on social media. On Snapchat, Payne shared footage of himself and Cassidy relaxing in Argentina and discussed mundanities like playing water polo, horseback riding and his costume plans for Halloween this year.
His final social media post was to Snapchat. In the photo, he and Cassidy are posed for a mirror selfie in their swimwear, though it is unclear when the photo was taken.

Cassidy said in a TikTok post Monday that she was “so excited” to leave South America and return to the U.S. She documented her travel home, though Payne stayed behind in Argentina.

Henry published a book called Looking Forward in May. The writing is “inspired by true events” and tells the story of a hopeful model who falls in love with a boy band member.
In an interview with People magazine, Henry said she had “very similar” experiences to the book’s main character, including suffering complications during an abortion. Henry’s book character is encouraged not to seek treatment for hemorrhaging during an abortion over fear of being spotted publicly and beginning tabloid speculation.
Payne and Henry got engaged in 2020 but called off the plans in April 2022.
During a podcast appearance this week, before Payne’s death, Henry tried to clarify the line between fact and fiction in her book and said she “just wanted to tell her story.”
Outside the CasaSur Hotel on Wednesday night, emotions were high as fans gathered to light candles and softly sing One Direction songs.
Hundreds of teary-eyed fans surrounded the Palermo-region hotel as news of the singer’s death was breaking. They watched as police blocked off the road and entrances to the hotel amid their investigation.

Until One Direction announced its hiatus in 2015, Payne’s face could commonly be found plastered on the bedroom walls of teenage girls around the world.
He went on to produce music as a solo artist, including the songs Strip That Down (feat. Quavo) and For You (With Rita Ora).
Payne’s solo career was marred with controversy and personal struggles with sobriety in recent years.
He faced intense backlash last year after a guest appearance on YouTuber Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive.
Payne, while drinking whisky, spoke negatively about his experience in One Direction, said he and member Louis Tomlinson despised one another to the point of physical arguments and accused another bandmate of “throwing him up against a wall” ahead of a concert.
He said he was “angry at what was going on around me” and took out his frustrations on others. Payne said he’d since attended rehab and was nearly six months sober.
“The rest of the boys really stuck by me when I needed them most, they kind of came to the rescue,” he said of his former band members. “Even Zayn, as well, which is why I did send him a little thank you online. It came across really big-headed, didn’t it?”

He is also survived by his parents, Geoff and Karen Payne, and his two older sisters, Ruth and Nicola.
Styles’ mother, Anne Twist, expressed upset on social media on Wednesday night. She shared a photo of a broken heart emoji and wrote that Payne was “Just a boy.”

Payne was best known as a member of One Direction, which went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Liam Payne, British pop star and former member of boy band One Direction, has reportedly died after falling from a multi-story hotel building. According to Argentinian newspaper La Nacion, police officers were called to the CasaSur Hotel in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo at 5:04 pm local time Wednesday, where they found Payne’s body in the courtyard. People confirmed the death with Argentinian police.
Payne’s representatives did not immediately respond to Vanity Fair.
Payne, who was raised in Wolverhampton, England, rose to fame in 2010, following One Direction’s formation on the British reality competition show The X Factor. He performed alongside bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan in the group until their indefinite hiatus began in 2016. In addition to releasing a solo album in 2019, Payne served as a brand ambassador for Hugo Boss. In August, Payne canceled a planned tour of Latin America citing health concerns.
He is survived by his seven-year-old son Bear Gray, who he shares with his ex-girlfriend, the British singerCheryl Cole.
Payne was in Buenos Aires at the time of his death, at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel. He is reported to have fallen from his room, on the 3rd floor. There’s no indication yet whether his death was intentional or accidental. Payne had been in Argentina for a Niall Horan concert, with his One Direction bandmates reuniting at the show.
Witnesses reported Payne was acting erratic at the hotel lobby earlier in the day, with the singer smashing his laptop and needing help to get back to his room. Paramedics in Argentina confirmed to local news stations that when they arrived at the scene Payne was already dead.
Payne was 16 when he, alongside Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik made up One Direction. The band was created during the show The X Factor in 2010. One Direction broke up in 2015.
In June 2021 Payne admitted that he struggled with both alcohol and prescription drug addictions during his time in the band. Earlier this week Payne’s ex-fiancée, Maya Henry, claimed Payne left her after asking her to get an abortion.
MTV’s Video Music Awards used to mean something. They’d be riddled with scandal, big performances, and newsworthy moments throughout. Last year, they even gave me a glimmer of hope that maybe the VMA’s would once again become iconic. Last night, they proved otherwise.
Riddled with random performances, there were hardly any awards handed out on-stage last night. We only got a few words from Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Taylor Swift while the rest were quietly awarded off-camera. Lip-syncing left and right, an extra-long performance from Katy Perry, who was the recipient of the Vanguard Award, and random quips from host Megan Thee Stallion fell flat.
The VMA’s used to mean something. There once was drama, huge career-defining performances, and huge attendance from every artist in the industry. It was less formal than The Grammy’s, a little more MTV…raunchy, scandalous, and great television.
What happened to Taylor Swift doing a British accent in front of ex-boyfriend Harry Styles while singing “We Are Never (Ever) Getting Back Together?” Or Kanye West interrupting Swift as she accepted the award for Best Video? Or Miley Cyrus twerking with teddy bears and Robin Thicke?
Performances used to take our breath away: Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” changed lives, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, and more have had massive moments at the VMA’s. This year, we saw terrific performances from the aforementioned Carpenter and Roan…but the rest I will soon forget.
What we wanted, however, was a jaw-dropping moment. And yes, I saw Sabrina Carpenter make out with the alien. I’m talking about a headline worthy moment, like Miley stripping her Disney princess status for edgy popstar or Kanye completely stealing Taylor’s moment.
Either way, I’m left yearning for drama. The VMA’s were never supposed to be taken seriously- they were meant to show which celebs hated each other, which wanted to ruin their careers, and which were just bystanders.
This year was an hours-long concert medley including the Sabrina-Shawn Mendes-Camila Cabello love triangle…and yet, the cameramen gave us no dramatic cuts to Shawn or Camila while Sabrina sang a song about them. See what I mean? Where’s the drama???
What made the VMA’s truly great was the fact that they weren’t trying to be serious. They let the artists get drunk and talk shit on one another, and that was okay. Now, we’ve lost the plot and it sadly shows.
