    Daredevil: Born Again

During a recent interview with SFX Magazine (via Heroic Hollywood), Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane suggested the series will not crossover with any of the MCU’s movie characters.

I’d be into it, because I dig the comics! But no. That’s been kind of a fun and challenging thing. We know there’s that huge world out there of the MCU. This corner of it has crossovers. We’ve seen Daredevil in other shows. There are other characters that are going to be popping up in movies and stuff, and that all goes into the larger MCU of it all.

The joke we make is, ‘Oh, those guys are uptown – we’re downtown!’ We kind of have a pocket that’s in this world of Hell’s Kitchen, in this world of New York. I always think that maybe these characters take little vacations into the larger world, but the story that we’re focusing on is really granular.

    Ghosts

Spoiler TV has a synopsis for “The List”, the March 5 episode of Ghosts. Pictures at the link.

    Darkman

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Liam Neeson stated he has not yet spoken to Sam Raimi about a new Darkman movie, “even pointing out that ‘they made two’ sequels without him in the direct-to-video films.” Unaware the film was rumored to be a direct sequel to the original, Neeson “humorously mimicked a phone call between him and Raimi acting as though he couldn’t hear the filmmaker before affirming, ‘I’d love to work with Sam’ and is keen to see a modern take on the franchise.”

    Avengers: Doomsday

Speaking with Empire Magazine (via Screen Rant), the Russo Brothers stated “Victor von Doom demands a certain tone” unlike anything the MCU has seen so far.

We also run at the complexity and the difficulty of what these movies can do at a narrative level. I think we’ve found a new level of that in Doomsday. Victor von Doom demands a certain tone.

The Russos also discussed Steve Rogers’ return to the MCU, emphasizing the character’s importance to the story.

We have a special affinity with the character, we can’t see this narrative without his central role in it basically. The special place he holds among the ensemble, he sort of retains that moving forward.

According to the Screen Guild, Francis Galluppi’s Evil Dead movie starring Charlotte Hope, Jessica McNamee, Zach Gilford, Josh Helman, Ella Newton, Elizabeth Cullen, and Ella Oliphant is slated to begin production this month in Auckland under the working title Evil Dead Wrath.

    Scream 7

Speaking with Empire (via Bloody-Disgusting), Kevin Williamson stated Scream 7 “doesn’t really have that meta goal” of previous entries.

This movie doesn’t really have that meta goal. It’s continuing the legacy of Sidney Prescott. It’s about her daughter. It’s about family. We said, ‘We’re gonna be less bloody. We kind of screwed up with that. I said, ‘I think we need more blood.’ And Neve was like, ‘I think you’re right.’

    Terrifier 4

In a recent interview with Den of Geek, Lauren LaVera confirmed she hasn’t “read any of the script yet” for Terrifier 4, but discussed her hopes for the alleged “finale.”

I haven’t read any of the script yet. I don’t think Damien’s even done writing it as of right now. I’m sure he’s close to done based off things he has texted me and what he’s been telling the press, but no, he’s kept it completely under wraps from David, from myself, from all of the other cast and crew. So it’ll be a surprise.

I want Jonathan to be alive; I want Gabbie to be saved; and I want some sort of retribution for Sienna, however that will look.

I think our girl’s been through enough and she deserves a win, whatever it will look like for her. Whether or not she survives, I don’t know, but I think she deserves a win.

Obviously, there are She-Hulk stories from the ’80s all the way to now, and they continue to be written, so there’s a lot in that character that’s very exciting, and yeah, the comics are still being made.

    The Mummy 4

During a recent interview with Screen Rant, Oded Fehr revealed he has yet to be asked to reprise his role as Ardeth Bay in the upcoming fourth Mummy movie.

I gotta tell you, man, I’m so excited that you’re excited. I have no idea. I haven’t been contacted. I don’t know anything about it. I know that the internet has been saying it as though it exists and it’s a done deal, but haven’t heard anything about it. So I’m hoping it happens. I’m hoping I get to be in it. But there’s nothing I can tell you about it.

I agree. I hope so. I hope that happens. I can tell you that I love The Mummy. It’s made me into a working actor. I love the actors on it. I’ve gotten to see a few of them in the last couple of years, and I hope it happens, but I have not been contacted.

All the creatives involved when I came on board wanted to do something that felt different. Of course, it’s still the Spider-Man that everybody loves, but this is a new chapter in his life, and that tonal shift was something that was really exciting to me. It felt really different, and it was an extremely gratifying experience.

It’s about her and her story and what drives her, rather than what so many people also love about her, which is how hot she is in the games and the movies. But I really want to show the other side. She’s so unashamedly capable. She is not a woman who hides her strengths at all.

Deadline reports Tatiana Maslany and Tim Heidecker are attached to star in The Comedy Hour, a “late-night-themed dystopian satire” from director Colby Day. Set “five minutes into the future when modern America is on the brink of collapse,” the story will see Heidecker as Jimmy, “a late-night talk show host forced to produce his show through famine, fire, and plague. When the network assigns him a robot to be his co-host and help boost ratings, everyone in America loves the robot more than him. Maslany will play Priya, a corporate climber and Jimmy’s long-time producer.”

    Spider-Man: Brand New Day

During his recent appearance on the Phase Hero podcast, Charlie Cox suggested he’s not in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, after all.

I know they all think I’m in Spider-Man because I’m filming something in London, which I’m not, I’m not in Spider-Man.

    It Follows 2

According to Maika Monroe, the script for It Follows 2 is “incredible” and “very different from the original,” and filming could begin next year.

I was sent the script and I thought it was incredible. It’s also very different from the original. I feel like the original, it’s like a little more heightened and dramatic, and this…I think it’s really quite grounded and just sort of follows the story of these two women who are mentally dealing with a lot. I thought it was a really interesting take on it.

    Decibel

A “tech-obsessed music producer” forces a struggling singer-songwriter to help her create “the perfect AI music algorithm” in the trailer for Decibel, a sci-fi/horror film coming to Apple TV and Fandango this November 7.

    Gobblefoot

Elsewhere, a “professor of New England folklore” attributes a string of mutilation murders to “a mythical creature, half turkey, half Bigfoot” in the trailer for Gobblefoot

    Stranger Things

Speaking to Empire, Matt Duffer also suggested Joseph Quinn does not return as the late Eddie Munson in season 5, despite recent comments from the actor.

I love that Joe Quinn is toying with people! But no, he’s dead. Joe is so busy, anyway, that everyone should know he’s not coming back. He’s shot like five movies since! When the hell has he got time to come and shoot Stranger Things? No, sadly, RIP. He’s fully under that ground.

    The X-Files

Ryan Coogler would “neither confirm nor deny” casting Danielle Deadwyler in his upcoming X-Files reboot, but told Variety that he’s making the reboot for his mom.

Like my relationship with Rocky with my dad, The X-Files is one of those things with my mom. My mom means the world to me—she’s actually here tonight—so this is a big one for me. I want to do right by her and the fans. My mom has read some of the stuff I wrote for it. She’s fired up.

    Yellowjackets

In a new press release (via TV Line), Yellowjackets creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson revealed the series will conclude with its fourth season.

After three incredible seasons, and great consideration, we’re excited to announce that we will be bringing the story of Yellowjackets to its twisted conclusion in this fourth and final season. We’ve always known there would come a point when the story would tell us it wants to end, and it’s our belief that our job — our responsibility — is to listen. Telling this emotional, wild, and deeply human story has been a profoundly meaningful experience and a true honor for us, and we’re so very grateful to the brilliant cast, crew and writers who have bravely gone on the journey with us to bring it to life. Most of all, we want to thank the fans who have stuck with us through every moment, mystery and meal — the Hive is nothing without you! We can’t wait to share the final chapter with you and hope you find it…delicious.

    Magic 8 Ball

Deadline also has word M. Night Shyamalan will direct a TV series for Mattel based on its “Magic 8 Ball” fortune-telling toy. Co-created with Bad Falcuk, the series aims to “reimagine the classic Magic 8 Ball as the centerpiece of a high-concept, character-driven supernatural drama that blends psychological intensity with cultural intrigue.”

    Daredevil: Born Again

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Daredevil: Born Again producer Brad Winderbaum confirmed Elden Henson does appear as Foggy Nelson in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.

I actually haven’t seen the quote, but I can tell you he is in season 2. People don’t know what they’re allowed to say and what they’re not allowed to say, also. Do I play it coy? Do I be honest? It’s always a dance.

In the same interview, Winderbaum also revealed Matthew Lillard plays a character named Mr. Charles.

He plays a character named Mr. Charles. The story is about power. When Wilson Fisk takes over New York, not just as a mayor but as a king in a way, it puts him in a new class of power players on the international stage. Matthew Lillard’s character represents that. So he’s a bit of a new antagonist on the field, but he’s as influential in many ways as Fisk is. That power negotiation at a very high level of politics and international diplomacy is also fun to watch. He is dealing with Mr. Charles up here and Daredevil down here for different reasons. So he’s getting squeezed a little bit.

    The Walking Dead: Dead City

According to Deadline, Raúl Castillo has joined the cast of The Walking Dead: Dead City as a character named Luis.

    Weapons/Aunt Gladys

During a recent interview with Fangoria, Zach Cregger confirmed the rumors of a Weapons spinoff starring Aunt Gladys are “not bullshit.”

I was ready. I had it kind of in my pocket before the movie came out. It’s real and I’ve been talking to Warner Bros. about it. There’s a story and I’m pretty excited about it. It’s not bullshit.

    Teen Wolf: The Movie 2

In other news, Tyler Posey confirmed Paramount shortly “abandoned ship” after the release of the first Teen Wolf movie in a new interview with People, but still has hopes that more will be made.

We did a film for Paramount a few years ago now, and originally it was a three-picture deal, and then it sort of abandoned ship after the first movie. But everybody wants more.

So I wrote the second film. I’m trying to get that one made, and then I have an idea for the third. Or we’re just going to do a TV series, but there will be more, and I’m going to spearhead it. I want it really bad.

Untitled Tim and Eric Horror Movie

    Peacemaker

In further DCU news, James Gunn stated the season finale of Peacemaker “is as important to Man of Tomorrow as anything” during his recent appearance on House of R.

I wanna make sure that people can pick up and watch something without having to see something before it… So, that said, episode 8 is as important to Man of Tomorrow as anything.

    Luke Cage

Lastly, Mike Colter would neither confirm nor deny whether Disney+ has plans for a third season of Luke Cage during his recent appearance at the Edmonton Expo (via CBR).

I don’t know why people keep asking me this. There’s no signs. It’s not like they’ve just recently revived one of the Marvel Netflix shows.
