LearningRx (www.LearningRx.com), the world’s largest personal brain training company, is celebrating the success of Sahara, who saw significant changes in test-taking, confidence, and transitioning from homeschooling to a private Christian school after enrolling in a LearningRx personal brain training program.

“After the transition from five years of homeschooling to attending a private Christian school, we quickly learned that she was not prepared for test-taking,” says Sahara’s mom. “She needed some help with studying and learning how to study. I think it played out in her life as a challenge. If she thought she couldn’t do something, she convinced herself she couldn’t do it. It was hard to get over that hump. She needed more confidence.”

When Sahara’s parents enrolled her in LearningRx personal brain training, their biggest goal was to build her self-esteem.

Since completing LearningRx brain training, so much has changed for Sahara!

“LearningRx has definitely changed her attitude, confidence, and ability,” says her mom. “She participates in market animal shows and livestock judging with the local 4-H. She is more confident in the show ring. That is something that she really enjoys. I think the best part of her experience was her trainer. She built a relationship with her trainer, Studley, and she has adjusted very well to her school setting and she finished up with good grades. We always knew that she could accomplish anything she set her mind to, and now she has better tools to reach those goals.”

LearningRx (www.LearningRx.com), the world’s largest personal brain training company, is celebrating the success of Gavin, who saw significant changes in academics, reading and confidence after enrolling in a LearningRx personal brain training program.

“[I struggled with] reading, writing and spelling,” says Gavin. “Even reading signs on trips or directions on my favorite game, Minecraft, was hard.”

“We actually checked out a lot of different places,” says Gavin’s mom. “We homeschooled … but our kids still had some struggles. All the other places were just about drilling information into you. I needed them to learn more than just what they needed to know for that second. I liked that LearningRx works with your brain and how it functions.”

Once he started LearningRx personal brain training, Gavin saw significant changes.

“I can now read things on my own,” says Gavin. “It definitely did affect my life a lot. It definitely made my life a lot better. Now I can get stuff done better, faster and more visually.”

“I want to keep on learning,” says Gavin. “LearningRx is different than home, but it feels like home [here] because the people made it very fun. I felt like I was with a family member and having a lot of fun.”

Third-grade Girl Named Finalist in National Contest for Exceptional Brain Training Results

    Press Release

    updated: Aug 12, 2019

Eagan, Minnesota third-grader Eme Dietz has been named the second Runner Up in LearningRx’s national Student of the Year competition, celebrating the top brain training results across the country.

Eme’s parents, Christina and Kyle, initially wanted to enroll her in LearningRx personal brain training because she was struggling with math.

“At the end of second grade, Eme confided in us that she didn’t feel comfortable with her grade-level math,” explains Christina. “We investigated a few programs that had more of an emphasis on math, but after speaking with some friends whose daughter went through LearningRx, we made an appointment to talk to Rich at the Eagan center.”

After speaking with Rich, Christina and Kyle saw the value in retraining the brain to think and process differently, rather than solely focusing on math. They enrolled Eme in a LearningRx personal brain training program.

“From day one, she was ready to put in the work,” says Eme’s trainer. “Her progress was slow and steady, but her confidence and ability to solve problems improved immensely. She was enjoying reading and writing more and feeling a lot more successful with her math scores, but then suddenly, something just clicked. With about five weeks left in the program, Eme’s ability to do math facts came bursting through. We were suddenly flying through Memory Hold! The pride on her face was priceless.”

According to Christina, Eme’s math scores have continuously improved and the confidence she has now is “indescribable.” “She learned to calm her frustrations, that making mistakes is normal and that quitting wasn’t an option,” says Christina. “We loved the consistency of the 1:1 student/trainer ratio. She’s acquired tools that she can take with her to middle school, high school and beyond. We couldn’t be happier with the investment in LearningRx.”

Eme says she wants to be an astronaut. With her newly sharpened brain skills and confidence, we know she can do it!

Young Cowboy Named Winner in National Contest for Exceptional Brain Training Results

    Press Release

    updated: Aug 9, 2019

College-bound cowboy Wesley Fowler has been named the top winner in LearningRx’s national Student of the Year competition, celebrating the top brain training results across the country.

“His entire life, all Wesley wanted to be was a farmer,” says Jennifer Huntington, executive director of LearningRx Cary, where Wesley completed personal brain training. “Every grade counted toward his GPA, which was his ticket to getting into the agricultural program at North Carolina State.”

But Wesley struggled academically. He would study for hours only to get a poor grade on a test. His mother Kelley, who is a teacher at Wesley’s school, had tried everything she could to try to help Wesley. She had even researched LearningRx and written it down in her prayer journal as a possible solution. By coincidence, two years later, Kelley won “Teacher of the Month” and received a free cognitive skills assessment from LearningRx. She brought Wesley in and the results of the assessment showed several weak cognitive skills, especially in long-term memory.

Suddenly, Wesley’s long history of academic struggles made complete sense.

“His exact words to me when we were leaving LearningRx that day were ‘I’m not stupid! There’s a reason!’ As a parent, I was shocked at what he had dealt with. The cognitive skills in so many areas were so low that it was no wonder he had struggled so much.”

With hope on the horizon, Wesley’s dream of going to college was resurrected. He enrolled in LearningRx personal brain training.

By his senior year of high school, Wesley could focus more in school, keep up with taking notes and remember what he studied. He used his visual memory skills at work to memorize the names and stall locations of 50 horses he had begun working with. He remembered to take care of responsibilities at home. His confidence soared and he earned all As and Bs his senior year—including an A in an AP class. Best of all, Wesley was accepted into the agricultural program at NC State. Now, he’s officially part of the Wolf Pack.

LearningRx Reviews Results of Personal Brain Training for Students With Autism Spectrum Disorder

    [ad_1]

June 18 is Autistic Pride Day and LearningRx (www.LearningRx.com), the world’s largest personal brain training company, is sharing the results of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who went through its program.

Unlike digital brain games, one-on-one brain training uses customized exercises and incorporates immediate feedback, intensity, and loading, among other features, to target brain skills—including attention, auditory processing, memory, logic & reasoning, processing speed and visual processing.

“Between 2010 and 2015, 857 clients came to LearningRx with a diagnosis on the autism spectrum,” explains Chief Research & Development Officer Tanya Mitchell. “The average age was 11.9. Using the Woodcock-Johnson III – Tests of Cognitive Abilities both pre- and post-training showed significant improvements for all cognitive skills.”

According to Mitchell, overall, the largest gains were seen in auditory processing and long-term memory, followed by logic & reasoning, working memory, and broad attention.

The average pre-training IQ score was 92 and the average post-training IQ score was 101. The average age-equivalent gain in cognitive skill performance was 3.1 years.

In addition to clinical data, anecdotal evidence from parents of children with ASD can help explain how personal brain training helped target and train cognitive skills.

Matthew Evans of Chattanooga, for example, came to LearningRx with an ASD diagnosis. He was at risk of being retained for another school year and struggled with reading, memory, and comprehension issues, as well as low confidence.

After completing a LearningRx personal brain training program, Matthew’s mom says that he started reading, having conversations with other kids, and demonstrating more confidence. When he went back for a new school year, his teachers were amazed at his progress. His mom says LearningRx took the “hard parts of autism and the things he couldn’t understand and made them bearable.” Now Matthew plans to be a veterinarian.

LearningRx Brain Training Company Reviews 5 Tips to Prepare Your High Schooler for College

June 6 is National Higher Education Day and LearningRx, the world’s largest personal brain training company, is sharing tips with parents to help them prepare their high school student for college. They include:

    1.      Take challenging courses. Most admissions officials say they prefer to see a student attempting more difficult classes then breezing through the required courses. As a general rule, if your teen thinks she can get at least a B, have her take the AP or honors classes.

    2.      Enroll in brain training. Unlike tutoring, which focuses on subject matter, one-on-one brain training strengthens the core cognitive skills to help you memorize, learn, process and recall any information faster, more effectively and more efficiently. Sometimes referred to as cognitive skills training, personal brain training uses customized brain exercises to target memory, processing speed, logic & reasoning, visual and auditory processing and attention. The results are measurable and can make the transition to college much easier.

    3.      Take a pre-college course. Many colleges offer these over the summer to give high school students a taste of campus life. Courses vary in topic, location, duration and cost, but almost all will be impressive on your teen’s college applications.

    4.      Consider dual-enrollment. Just as some high schools offer college-level courses, some colleges allow high school students to enroll in one or more classes—many of which even offer college credits if your grades are high enough. This can save your teen time (and you money!) when they’re ready to attend college full time.

    5.      Take required courses. Most colleges have admissions that include things like four years of English, four years of math, three to four years of a lab science, two to four years of a foreign language and at least two years of social sciences.

Girl experiences three-level increase in reading after program and makes the honor roll!!

LearningRx (www.LearningRx.com), the world’s largest personal brain training company, is celebrating the success of Callie, who saw significant changes in grades, academic enjoyment and confidence after completing a LearningRx program.

Callie came to LearningRx because she was struggling in school and she thought she was “stupid.” She had tried afterschool tutoring with her teacher and was in a special reading group in school, but she still had significant issues with reading and felt that her brain wasn’t working.

When she came to LearningRx, a cognitive skills assessment showed that Callie’s auditory processing skills were weak. (It’s the most-needed skill for reading!)

She enrolled in six months of LearningRx and saw drastic improvements. Her math got easier, her reading went up THREE levels and she made the honor roll at school!

“The more I played the games, the easier they got,” says Callie. “Math got a lot easier and reading got a lot easier.”

Callie’s mom says, “She was definitely more confident. Beforehand, when she was struggling, she would say things like ‘I’m stupid’ and ‘I just can’t get this.’ The more she came—probably after the third or fourth week—she didn’t say those negative things anymore. You hear people say it’s life-changing, but until you experience it … I mean, it really IS life changing.”

LearningRx (www.LearningRx.com), the world’s largest personal brain training company, is celebrating the success of Ayda, who saw significant changes in sustained, divided and selective attention after completing a LearningRx program.

Ayda came to LearningRx after her teacher was concerned that although she was smart, she was struggling to pay attention in class.

“I just knew that if she could focus, she could have real power,” says her mom. “I’ve known since she was little that she had attention issues. It’s cute when you’re 4, but it’s not cute when you’re 10. I had talked to my pediatrician and I was on the verge of putting her on some ADHD medication when the pediatrician suggested LearningRx.”

Ayda’s mom says that a cognitive skills assessment showed how smart Ayda was, but that she had some brain skills that were weaker, including attention, working memory and processing speed.

After completing her LearningRx personal brain training program, Ayda achieved drastic improvements—and the changes have made her a successful student.

“It’s been amazing,” says her mom. “I just had parent-teacher conferences a few weeks ago and I had the best report on Ayda I’ve had in years. All of her teachers said it’s amazing how much she’s focusing. I can tell that she’s practicing. She’s doing her homework. She’s being way less disruptive in class. She’s getting so much more out of school. I can see that as she is starting to enter her pre-teen years, she is full of confidence about her abilities. Having LearningRx help her build on her skills that were weak has really allowed her to access her skills that are strong.”

LearningRx (www.LearningRx.com), the world’s largest personal brain training company, is celebrating the success of Maddox, who saw significant changes in grades, confidence and homework after completing a LearningRx program.

Maddox came to LearningRx after having a hard time keeping up in class and with his siblings. He was struggling with reading and math in particular, and his mother said he would just “shut down” at school. He’d also avoid homework and participating in class.

A cognitive skills assessment helped determine where some of Maddox’s cognitive skills were weak and, using those results, LearningRx created a personal brain training program to target and strengthen those weak skills.

Since completing his LearningRx program, Maddox has seen huge improvements in grades, confidence, organization and homework.

“We have seen amazing strides with him,” says his mom. “He’s doing great; his confidence is way up there. He’s more attentive in class and participating more. Now, he’s getting Bs and doing really well. Now, he enjoys reading, and I don’t even have to ask him if he has homework. He gets it done right away. He’s participating much more in class and is more confident.”

Maddox’s mother encourages other parents with children who struggle in school to get a cognitive skills assessment at LearningRx.

Girl goes from struggling with reading and academics to soaring confidence and reading fluently!

LearningRx (www.LearningRx.com), the world’s largest personal brain training company, is celebrating the success of Melanie, who saw significant changes in reading, confidence, academics and participation after completing a LearningRx program in Wisconsin.

When Melanie’s parents noticed she was struggling academically in first grade, the teachers told them that “everyone grows differently” and that Melanie would “grow out of it” and “catch up.” But Melanie continued to struggle for a few years, spurring her parents to enroll her in LearningRx personal brain training.

Once they saw the results of Melanie’s cognitive skills assessment, they decided to enroll her in the program, where she would do some brain training at the LearningRx. She also did some training with her grandmother at home.

Since completing LearningRx, Melanie is much more willing to participate in school and try new things. She has also started cooking more because she is able to read the recipes.

“I feel like I am out of the shadows,” says Melanie. “I’m in the classroom like a regular person.”

As for whether she’d recommend LearningRx to other kids who are struggling, Melanie says yes, “because it’s such a great learning tool,” especially kids whose parents are trying to “make them do something they don’t know how to do—no offense to parents!”

Way to go Melanie. We’re proud of you!

“Picture Our New President!” Contest Launched by LearningRx Personal Brain Training

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    updated: Dec 7, 2016

One-on-one brain training company LearningRx has launched its national “Picture Our New President!” contest to find a new image of President-elect Donald J. Trump to add to its Presidential picture-graphic.

Here’s how the contest works: In the graphic below you can see how recent presidents Kennedy to Obama are represented in our memory game. The first thing you can see is a can of D’s, which sounds like “Kennedy.” The can of D’s is leaning into a yawning sun (Johnson), which is being nicked (Nixon) by a Ford (Ford) balanced in a cart (Carter), beneath which is a ray gun (Reagan) shooting at a bush (George H.W. Bush) holding up a clothesline for hanging a clean ton (Clinton) of clothes. The other end of the clothesline is tied to another bush (George W. Bush) from which “O” llama (Obama) is eating a leaf.

The contest runs from December 5, 2016 through January 6, 2017 with the grand prize winner receiving a $100 Amazon gift card. To get details on the contest, visit http://studentshoutouts.com/newpresident/. Entries are judged on the concept to represent President-elect Trump, not artistic ability. The contest is open to all U.S. residents. LearningRx is also hosting a Presidents Day video contest thats open to current and former LearningRx students. • LearningRx Reviews Research Study That Showed Brain Training Created New Brain Connections

LearningRx Reviews Research Study That Showed Brain Training Created New Brain Connections

    [ad_1]

LearningRx training showed significant changes in brain connectivity involved in cognitive processing following LearningRx cognitive training in an independent randomized control study.

A Randomized Control Trial (RCT) testing LearningRx’s (www.LearningRx.com) ThinkRx personal brain training program has been completed and analysis of the brains of the students found significant physical changes. The results of the analysis—“Analysis of Resting State Functional Connectivity in a Cognitive Training Intervention Study”—have been published in LearningRx’s 48-page 2016 edition of “Client Outcomes and Research Results.” http://www.learningrx.com/our-programs/learningrx-results/.

In the study, 30 high school students were randomly assigned to one of three conditions: ThinkRx, digital training, or study hall (control) for a 15-week training period. All students underwent cognitive testing and MRIs pre– and post-training. Analysis of cognitive testing scores found that training groups scored significantly higher than controls on multiple tasks, with the most significant gains occurring in auditory processing.

“Using fMRI, we looked at underlying brain changes related to gains in auditory processing following LearningRx training,”

Dr. Christina Ledbetter , Neuroscientist and Research Fellow at LSU Health Sciences Center

Even more exciting: fMRI analysis of resting state connectivity with the auditory cortex by Neuroscientist and Research Fellow at LSU Health Sciences Center Dr. Christina Ledbetter revealed:

                    • Significant changes in the resting state connectivity with multiple cortical regions involved in cognitive processing occurred following cognitive training

                    • An increase in global network efficiency occurred following cognitive training

                    • Network changes in the brain correlated to auditory processing gains

“Using fMRI, we looked at underlying brain changes related to gains in auditory processing following LearningRx training,” explains Dr. Ledbetter. “We found that changes in brain connectivity occurred between the auditory cortex and cortical areas involved in cognitive processing, and that the degree of change correlated with gains in auditory processing.”

LearningRx programs are based on 35 years of research and input from a team of psychologists, educators, speech and language pathologists, and occupational therapists. “With 95,000 students having graduated our brain training programs, we have plenty of data for independent researchers to study our unique cognitive training methodology and results,” says Tanya Mitchell, Vice President of Research & Development for LearningRx. “We are eager to share our results, and independent research helps validate our work among the scientific community in an industry that is still relatively young, and therefore under constant scrutiny.”

LearningRx (www.LearningRx.com) has a network of 78 centers across the United States and locations in over 35 countries (www.BrainRx.com). The company has an average customer rating is 4.9 out of 5. Using a comprehensive skills assessment test and intensive one-on-one training, LearningRx programs enhance weak cognitive skills such as attention, memory, processing speed, and problem solving.
