  • Music Rewind 2025: Kane Brown Took The High Road With His Music

    [ad_1]

When you think about Black country singers today, one of the ones that might come to mind is Kane Brown. He shows us why he has the potential to be one of the best country music artists every time he releases something new. 2025 was a great year for the singer. He released several music videos, a new album, toured, and more. Let’s look at what his year looked like.

    ‘Gorgeous’

What happens when one wants to show their love and affection to their significant other? Some send a beautiful text, some buy gifts, and Kane Brown? He writes a gorgeous song and titles it ‘Gorgeous.’ The singer started his year off by releasing a song and music video for ‘Gorgeous’ on January 17, 2025. The video is simple, but it lets listeners focus on the lyrics instead of what happens in the video.

The video shows a car in the middle of a desert, but in the beginning, Kane Brown isn’t shown. When he finally appears, it’s only to look at the camera before walking the distance into the desert and returning by the song’s end. He put so much love and care into the song’s lyrics. One of our favorite lines of the song is, “It’s your heart, it’s your mind, it’s what man just can’t design, it’s the beautiful inside that makes you gorgeous.” How beautiful is that?! We absolutely stan.

    The High Road Album

Let’s put some ‘Miles On It’ and ‘Leave Things We Quit’ behind us and talk about Kane Brown’s fourth album. A week after ‘Gorgeous’ debuted, the singer released his album, The High Road. The album consisted of eighteen tracks and several collaborations. Among those collaborations is his wife, Katelyn Brown. Brown put his all into his song selection, focusing on what he wants from the lyrics to the sound.

The album gave us a beautiful, yet personal glimpse of who he is, from being a father to being a husband to dealing with mental health. It has a relatable feel, and while not every song might be relatable to everyone, we’re sure a majority of readers and fans can relate to ‘I Am.’ Raise your hand if you can relate to “I’m scared of the unknown.”

Good Morning America & GMA3 Live Performances

What’s an album release without a few live performances? Well, it’s probably something, but we love to see our favorites perform their songs live whenever we can. Kane Brown appeared on shows, Good Morning America and GMA3, to perform ‘Backseat Driver’ and ‘Miles On It,’ respectively, following the release of his new album. It was a great taste of what everyone could expect from his tour. And while we don’t know who needs to hear this, let’s put some ‘Miles On It’ and ‘Leave Things We Quit’ in the past where they belong.

    The High Road Tour

If you had to pick one country music artist to see in concert, why is it Kane Brown? If not, why isn’t it him? We’re not telling you to change your mind, but we are suggesting you might want to. The High Road Tour started in San Diego, CA, on March 13, 2025, and continued across North America and Europe/the UK for several months. He gave electrifying performances in each city. A few shows even included his family joining him on stage, making some shows have an extra personal touch.

    9-1-1: Nashville

If you grew up in the 1990s and 2000s, you know what it’s like to constantly see one of your favorites starring in one of your favorite tv shows. You also know what it’s like for them to not only act but perform a song. Getting to witness things like that made for beautiful moments to talk about with your friends. During the series premiere of 9-1-1: Nashville, we got the best of both worlds. There are spoilers here; we’re basing this on the clips of Brown from the show’s trailer. We will say it’s an episode worth checking out if you’re a fan of his.

We’re sure there are more moments of 2025 that we missed when it comes to Kane Brown, but these were our top ones. Did yours make the list? What was your favorite moment when it came to the singer? Was it a live show? His album? Let us know below in the comments or by finding us via TwitterFacebook, or Instagram.

Genre-blurring country music artist Kane Brown took his “In The Air Tour” to the heights of Raleigh’s PNC Arena Friday night as he made a dramatic entrance from a suspended platform high above the stage.

The entrance seemed symbolic as Brown continues to reach new heights in country music. He has racked up a slew of singles and albums that have hit the top of the country charts, including the song “What Ifs” (with Lauren Alaina), “I Can Feel It,” “Lose It” and “Good as You.”

The award-winning Georgia native built his career while opening for major country acts Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line. Today, he’s touring at big city arenas with stops planned at five stadiums. Publicity materials note he made history in 2023 by being the first Black artist to sell out Boston’s Fenway Park in the venue’s history.

Singer Tyler Hubbard and N.C.’s own Parmalee opened Friday’s show.

  • Kane Brown opens up about his “crazy childhood,” first experience of racism and what it’s like to sing a duet with his wife

Kane Brown opens up about his “crazy childhood,” first experience of racism and what it’s like to sing a duet with his wife

    [ad_1]

Since 2016, country singer Kane Brown has gone from opening act to headliner. Brown just concluded his Blessed and Free tour, which included stops at every NBA arena in the country.

Despite his success, Brown remains grounded. Raised near the Tennessee-Georgia border, Brown says when he was a kid, music helped him escape from problems from his “crazy childhood.”

“Had to grow up a lot faster than a normal person… Just, you know, moving around a lot. And then no father figure. Child abuse,” Brown said.

Brown said he was beaten a lot as a child. He described in detail one of the incidents of abuse where he said one of his stepdads shaved his head.

“One of my stepdads for my punishment shaved my head bald and put aftershave on me. Made me, like, physically eat half a bar of soap, not just bite into it. I had to physically eat it and swallow it. So all kinds of crazy things,” he said.

At school, Brown first dealt with racism when he was in middle school.

“It was, like, my first, like, actual girlfriend. You know, we were on the bus. And she was about to get dropped off and then she was, like, ‘I can’t talk to you anymore.’ And I was, like, ‘What do you mean?’ And she was, like, ‘My dad said you’re Black,’” he recalled.

Moments like that have stuck with Brown his entire life. But when it comes to being a Black country artist, he believes his talent should speak for itself.

“I shouldn’t have to say anything, you know? I’m up there in front of everybody as a Black artist. I’m selling out arenas,” he said. “I’m on the radio. I’m doing all this stuff. Right there should tell you that, you know country music’s getting better. And people should be opening up.”

His most recent hit single is one of his most personal. “Thank God” is a duet Brown sings with his wife, Katelyn. The pair first bonded over their love of music when they met.

Brown said his wife was nervous to do the song, but he knew instantly that the song was going to be a “smash.” Katelyn said doing a duet together has been six years in the making. But the pair felt now was the right time to do it so they could show their two daughters, 10-month-old Kodi Jane and two-year-old Kingsley Rose.

“It’s so different than before. We didn’t have kids. I was, like, ‘How cool for our daughters to one day listen to mom and dad?” Katelyn said.
