  • CJ ENM Expands Latin American Reach With Spanish-Dubbed K-Dramas (EXCLUSIVE)

    [ad_1]

South Korean entertainment giant CJ ENM is doubling down on its Latin American strategy by preparing Spanish-language versions of two upcoming K-dramas, aiming to strengthen audience connection through localized content delivery.

The company plans to release dubbed versions of TVING original “The Practical Guide to Love” and Studio Dragon’s “Our Universe,” both distributed by CJ ENM, as part of its push to make premium Korean content more accessible to Spanish-speaking viewers across the region.

“The Practical Guide to Love,” produced by SLL, stars Han Ji-min and Park Sung-hoon in a romantic comedy centered on So Ui-yeon, a single woman navigating the blind dating scene. The series follows her entanglement with two contrasting suitors: the quietly sincere Tae-seop (Park) and the playfully candid Ji-su (Lee Ki-taek). The show explores her emotional journey as she weighs these divergent romantic prospects.

Written by Lee Yi-jin and directed by Lee Jae-hoon (“Run On”), the series positions itself as an accessible rom-com with universal themes.

“Our Universe” takes a different approach, blending romantic comedy with coming-of-age elements. The Studio Dragon production features Roh Jeong-eui and Bae In-hyuk as Hyun-jin and Tae-hyung, future in-laws who initially clash before tragedy forces them into joint guardianship of their orphaned niece Woo-joo. The series tracks their evolution from antagonists to co-parents and potential romantic partners.

Penned by Soo Jin and helmed by director Lee Hyun Suk, the show frames its central relationship against themes of responsibility and personal growth.

“With these new titles, we are excited to connect with Latin American viewers through stories that are universally relatable and localized through Spanish dubbing, enhancing accessibility and the overall viewing experience,” said Sebastian Kim, head of CJ ENM’s Content Distribution Business Unit.

The Spanish dubbing initiative represents CJ ENM’s continued investment in the Latin American market, where Korean content has gained significant traction in recent years. The company previously secured a prime-time K-drama slot on Mexico’s Imagen Televisión in April 2025, marking the first dedicated Korean drama programming block on Mexican broadcast television. The strategy, unveiled ahead of Content Americas 2026, prioritizes rapid localization to minimize the gap between Korean releases and regional availability.

Both series are positioned for swift regional rollout following their dubbing completion.
