Morning TV Hosts Sherri Shepherd, Jennifer Hudson & Tamron Hall Bring Halloween Hijinks To Television

Halloween took over daytime TV this year as America’s favorite morning time talk show hosts went all out to celebrate the spooky season. From Jennifer Hudson’s disco-inspired transformation to Sherri Shepherd’s four costume changes and Tamron Hall’s hilarious tribute to reality dating shows, each star brought their own unique twist to October 31.

Jennifer Hudson took a time travel machine back to the 70s during The Jennifer Hudson Show’s annual Halloween special, which aired on Oct. 31. Keeping with tradition, the EGOT winner, 44, transformed into a 70s diva for this year’s soulful celebration, complete with original Soul Train dancers, a guest appearance from Megan Thee Stallion, and a groovy dance portal Spirit Tunnel.

Hudson’s dazzling costume was incredible: a glittering lilac metallic trench coat with hot pink feathers, bold earrings, stunning makeup, completed with voluminous hair. Underneath the coat, she rocked a glistening silver suit, paired with a crystal embroidered top. Her crew also embraced the theme with vintage-inspired bell-bottoms and bright retro flair.

Adding to the fun, Megan Thee Stallion, 30, stopped by the show to talk about all things “Hottieween.” The Grammy-winning rapper stunned in a cheetah-print dress and matching choker, bringing fierce festive energy to the stage. She and Hudson chatted about her latest track “Lover Girl,” her journey into a love-filled era, her bond with Queen Latifah — including a memorable Coachella moment — and her dream of stepping into acting.

Megan also gave fans a glimpse of her tequila brand, Chicas Divertidas, which will hit shelves soon.

Over on SHERRI, host Sherri Shepherd made not one but four costume changes for her Halloween takeover episode. She opened the show as Morticia Addams, inspired by Catherine Zeta-Jones’ portrayal of Wednesday. Created with seamstress Ana Toval, the gown featured five yards of black stretch velvet, hand-beaded lace trim, and a semi–sweetheart neckline. Sherri completed the look with a 40-inch jet-black wig, pale complexion, and dark, dramatic makeup—embodying Morticia flawlessly.

Next, she channeled Steve Urkel from Family Matters, complete with vintage ’90s Lee jeans, striped polo, and suspenders, while joined by Reginald Vel Johnson and Jo Marie Payton, who portrayed The Winslows on the hit ‘90s sitcom.

She then turned up the heat as a Love Island bombshell, rocking an asymmetrical one-piece swimsuit, mesh sarong, and sun-kissed curls.

Finally, she ended the show in complete vintage fantasy as Jeannie from the 1965 show I Dream of Jeannie, wearing a custom Todd Fisher New York design: a velvet vest, pink chiffon pants, and a pleated bra top, paired with color-matched Sergio Rossi heels and a perfectly sculpted high bun.

Tamron Hall paid homage to some of America’s iconic dating shows.

Tamron Hall, meanwhile, declared that “nothing is scarier than a first date.” The two-time Emmy winner leaned into that theme by parodying iconic dating shows from across the decades, and dressing up as their male hosts.

In The Tamron Hall Show’s Oct. 31 episode, she spoofed The Dating Game, Love Connection, and Flavor of Love with an array of fake facial hair and nostalgic flair.

“I didn’t know facial hair was so problematic. Believe it or not, it was easier being a pregnant Cardi B,” Hall joked to PEOPLE. “We were ripping mustaches and goatees off! It took me back to my waxing days!”

As “Reggie Romance” from The Spooky Dating Game, Hall sported a bouncy afro and ’70s flower power vibes. Then, as “Lenny Lovebird” from Love Potion Connection, she embodied 1983 in a pumpkin-colored suit and thick mustache, channeling Love Connection’s iconic host Chuck Woolery.

Later, she faced off against musical guest Kwamé Holland, who appeared as himself opposite Hall dressed as his ’90s alter ego. And for her grand finale, “T-Flav” of Flavor of Fright, Hall donned Flavor Flav’s signature clock and hosted a cake-decorating contest, joined by none other than reality TV icon Tiffany Pollard, who famously appeared on Flavor of Love in the early 2000s.

This Halloween, these powerhouse hosts proved that no one brings creativity, humor, and star power to a spooky season quite like daytime TV’s leading ladies.

Is Jennifer Hudson pregnant?

The singer, actress, and television host is a national treasure. One of the glittering gems who make the rest of American Idol almost seem worth it.

Her devoted fans spotted what they thought might be a baby bump in a fairly recent photoshoot.

Now, the speculation continues. Is Jennifer Hudson pregnant?

Why do fans think that Jennifer Hudson is pregnant?

It actually begins several months ago.

Essence uploaded promotional videos to Instagram and Facebook.

These videos are no longer available, but showcased Jennifer Hudson in multiple outfits.

One of these outfits was a black, form-fitting dress.

As we said, the video is no longer up on Essence‘s official pages on Instagram or on Facebook.

However, Hudson’s own website preserved a photo.

Some speculate that Essence took down other videos at her request.

Simply put, fans believed that they saw a small bump in Hudson’s belly.

And they flooded the Instagram comments section of the now-deleted post to speculate that Jennifer Hudson might be pregnant. Her tendency to wear flowing fabric did not diminish the rumors.

Is Jennifer Hudson actually pregnant?

Famously, Jennifer Hudson lost a lot of weight a while back.

Some commenters hit back at the pregnancy speculation, arguing that some of her own fans were really just body-shaming her for having a normal human body.

Even so, the speculation lingers — even months later, on social media.

Hudson has not publicly confirmed or denied the rumor. Even so, we think that we can provide some insight.

Months after that photoshoot, Jennifer Hudson is still wearing loose-fitting, stylish clothing on her talk show.

However, Essence’s photos were back in the later days of 2024.

We’re now well into the second half of 2025.

After ten months, a “baby bump” that hasn’t grown probably isn’t a baby bump at all.

It would, in theory, be a simple matter for Jennifer Hudson to quash rumors that she’s pregnant. Or to confirm them.

But reality isn’t so simple.

If celebrities commented every time that pregnancy rumors came up, they would be forever dismissing claims … or revealing pregnancies earlier than planned. A policy of “almost all of the time” silence is the best policy.

One day, maybe society will learn to be less weird about people’s bodies — particularly women’s bodies. In the meantime, rumors like this will crop up.

And, every now and then, they’ll be true.

Kelly Clarkson welcomes new chapter following heartbreaking family tragedy

Kelly Clarkson has endured a difficult year, following the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, with whom she shares her kids, River and Remy. Now, the star will officially return to our screens on September 29 for the newest season of her award-winning series, The Kelly Clarkson Show. In a statement from NBC, the network shared that the seventh season of the hit series will begin production on September 8, with the first week of shows set honor the brave people who rescued campers during the Texas floods in July.

The devastating floods claimed the lives of at least 132 people, with over 100 still missing in the area. Kelly hails from Texas and was set to perform at a benefit concert for the victims in August before she was forced to cancel due to Brandon’s death. “Unfortunately, Kelly Clarkson will be unable to appear at Band Together Texas as planned, due to personal circumstances,” the organization shared. “We send our love to Kelly and her family.”

A new chapter

NBC shared that the new season of Kelly’s show will welcome a slew of A-listers, including Emily Blunt, Channing Tatum, Marion Cotillard, Lionel Richie, Colin Farrell, Scarlett Johansson, Shonda Rimes, Dwayne Johnson, Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts, Margot Robbie and Reese Witherspoon. The show debuted in 2019, has gone on to win 22 Daytime Emmy Awards, and is nominated for eight more in 2025.

Kelly has helmed the series for over 1,000 episodes, cementing herself as a TV staple in the process. She will also return to The Voice for season 29 alongside John Legend and Adam Levine. The mother of two was forced to miss a day of shooting following Brandon’s death, with her fellow American Idol alum and talk show star Jennifer Hudson stepping in to help out.

Family tragedy

Kelly and Brandon were married for almost seven years before splitting in June 2020. The talent manager passed away on August 7, leaving behind his two kids with Kelly, as well as his older children, Savannah and Seth, whom he welcomed with his first wife, Melissa Ashworth.

“Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years,” his loved ones shared in a statement. “He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.” The 48-year-old died from melanoma, a malignant form of skin cancer.

Saying goodbye

Just a day before the announcement, Kelly postponed her upcoming August performances, sharing that she needed to be with her kids River, 11, and Remy, nine. “Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,” she wrote on social media. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill, and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”

“I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows, and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding,” she concluded. The duo first met at the Country Music Awards in 2006, and reconnected in 2012 when she performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl. They married in October 2013, celebrating with an intimate ceremony in Tennessee.

Common knows what he has with Jennifer Hudson is something special and he’s openly admitting that he could be hearing wedding bells.

On July 15, the rapper couldn’t say enough good things about his girlfriend during an appearance on The Breakfast Club.

“If I’m going to get married, it’s to her,” Common told the hosts about Hudson. “That’s simple as that.”

When Charlamagne Tha God pointed out how happy the rapper was as he talked about Jennifer, he proceeded to compliment her even more.

While he made sure to be respectful of his past relationships, he didn’t hold back when revealing what’s so different about their union.

“This is definitely—with all due respect to all the women I’ve dated ’cause it’s all love—but this is a really healthy and beautiful relationship,” Common explained. “When you’re with somebody who’s from where you’re from, it’s a different kind of connection, too.”

He went on to say that he and the actress are both from the same place spiritually and as people, which is something he feels has made their relationship stronger.

“I’m in a relationship that is with one of the most beautiful people I’ve met in life,” Common said. “She’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down to earth about her. She’s talented.”

He continued by joking about just how successful his girlfriend really is, saying, “I set my standard kind of high…She had to have an EGOT. She had to win an Oscar on her first movie. She had to get her own talk show.”

“This relationship is a happy place for me,” Common continued to gush. “For me, it’s one of those things where I found where seeing her happy actually makes me really happy. I’m very grateful. I thank God every day and I’m just letting God guide this relationship.”

Jennifer Hudson & Common Recently Enjoyed A Cabo Trip Together

The couple recently took a trip to Nobu Residences Los Cabos, home to 60 exclusive residences in Baja California Sur, where Hudson celebrated the birthday of her best friend Walter Williams.

An official press release reports that they stayed in the 4-bedroom Kogane penthouse complete with a private pool, private gym, custom-stocked kitchen, and 24-hour butler service. The adventurous crew spent their days riding camels on the beach, dune buggy driving, and chilling at the adults-only pool.

The release adds that Jennifer “enjoyed pampering moments with rejuvenating massages at the Esencia spa and culminated her stay with a memorable private BBQ night at the exquisite private residence.”

Her final meal was an epic dining experience at Muna restaurant where the birthday menu included Mediterranean-inspired eats such as Orzo San Marzano Pomo-D’Oro Pasta, Oyster Ravioli with Lemon Beurre Blanc, and Confit Duck Mini Gyros with Black Truffle Tzatziki.

While visiting the Making Space with Hoda Kotb podcast on May 8, 2024, Tiffany Haddish seemingly approved her ex-boyfriend’s relationship with Common. As BOSSIP reported last year, Haddish received some backlash after seemingly shading the new romance. Now, the comedian is singing a different tune.

“I love Jennifer. I hope they’re having fun,” she stated on the podcast.

The 44-year-old then talked about her year-long relationship with Common and stated that she had fun while she was with them. If you recall, in 2023, Haddish revealed their break-up was not mutual, and she was caught off guard.

Tiffany Haddish discusses the break-up with Kotb further, “It’s like, you remember when you was a kid and you’d be on a play date, and y’all like playing, having a good time, and then all of a sudden, y’all like sliding down the slide, and then you turn around and go, ‘Where did they go? Where did they — where’d they go?’” She continued, “And you see them waving at you and they mama carrying them. And they’re like, ‘Byeee.’ That’s what it was like.”

The Girls Trip actress also discussed her upcoming book, I Curse You with Joy, a collection of essays. According to TooFab, she stated that while the book discusses some of her past relationships, Common is not mentioned.

Jennifer Hudson’s heart visibly sinks in emotional footage from exactly two decades ago — and her life’s unrecognizable today

Jennifer Hudson went on a trip down memory lane at the start of the week as she reflected on her impressive career to date.

The Jennifer Hudson Show host has certainly come a long way in 20 years, and took to Instagram to show just how much she has.

The talented singer posted throwback footage of herself being eliminated in American Idol, where she came in seventh place. She was full of emotion in the clip as a then 22-year-old, but as she noted in the caption, it was just the beginning of what has been an incredible journey for her.

She wrote: “On this day in 2004, I was eliminated from American Idol! But God turned it around for my good! From Idol to EGOT baby !!! 20 years later, and now back on TV with my own show.

“Never give up on your dreams, yal! If I can do it, so can u! If it’s not worth working hard for, it’s not worth it at all ! Remember nobody knows your potential the way you do. Just keep the faith, keep believing, and keep going!!!”

Fans were quick to comment on the post, with one writing: “And the fact that u won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony! You’re a LEGEND!” while another wrote: “Wow!!!! Reminds me of one of my favorite scriptures. ‘When the time is right…I, the Lord will make it happen.’”

Jennifer Hudson has come a long way from her American Idol days

Jennifer became the youngest woman to become an EGOT in 2022 after receiving a Tony Award as a producer for the musical A Strange Loop. She also has two Grammy Awards, a Daytime Emmy Award, and an Oscar, which she got for her debut movie role, Dreamgirls.

The star has since broadened her career even further, and has her very own talk show, The Jennifer Hudson Show, which is currently in its second season.

Jennifer found out last week that her show had been nominated for an upcoming Daytime Emmy Award. The star was more than delighted and expressed her joy on social media.

She wrote: “WOW! ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series!” Jennifer is up against The Kelly Clarkson Show, Tamron Hall, Turning Tables with Robin Roberts and The View.

The program runs five days a week and features a star-studded guest list each day, along with real life stories and music.

Jennifer’s known for being warm and engaging with her guests and often shares glimpses into her personal life on the show too. The star is currently dating Common, who appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show earlier this year, where they addressed their relationship for the first time.

During the interview, the mother-of-one turned to him and said: “Let’s get down to business, Mr. Common. I’m a host, and so I have to ask you this question, because everybody always wants to know this. Are you dating anyone?” He revealed he was in fact dating “one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met, in life,” and coyly revealed it was Jennifer.

He said: “She’s smart. She loves God. She has something real down-to-earth about her. She’s talented. But I set my standard kind of high because she had to have an EGOT,” adding: “She had to win an Oscar [for] her first movie. I set my standard high. She had to get her own talk show.”

‘Lion King’ Live-to-Film Hollywood Bowl Concert to Feature Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, Jennifer Hudson, Billy Eichner and More (EXCLUSIVE)

The 30th anniversary of the original animated film version of “The Lion King” will be celebrated at the Hollywood Bowl next month with a live-to-film concert/screening that will include cast members from both the movie and theatrical versions — and beyond — including Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, Billy Eichner, Ernie Sabella, Jason Weaver and Bradley GIbson.

The shows will take place at the Bowl May 24-25 and be produced by Disney Concerts, Fulwell 73 Productions, AMP Worldwide and Live Nation-Hewitt Silva.

The general on-sale begins Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster, with an American Express cardholder presale starting Tuesday at 10 a.m.

“Disney’s The Lion King 30th Anniversary – A Live-to-Film Concert Event” will feature a full orchestra performing the Oscar-winning score composed by Hans Zimmer for the 1994 classic, conducted by Sarah Hicks. But the long tail that film has cast will be part of the celebration as well. The cast members who’ll sing the musical numbers written for the film by Elton John and Tim Rice will be drawn from the realm of the hit Broadway adaptation that kicked off in 1998 and the 2019 movie remake, as well as the initial film.

Coming to the stage from the 1994 version will be Irons (who originated the sinister role of Scar), Lane (who played the comical Timon), Ernie Sabella (the first Pumbaa) and Jason Weaver (who played Young Simba). Gibson will represent the Broadway incarnation (he played Simba on stage), and Eichner will bring memories of the 2019 remake (he voiced Timon on screen).

Hudson has not previously been associated with the various incarnations of “The Lion King,.” But even though any voice cast will be mostly male, the opening number calls for a strong female voice, so it’s not difficult to begin the guessing game of where she might fit in.

It’s especially easy to make some educated guesses about what she’ll do knowing that Hudson sang “The Circle of Life” when she came to fame competing on “American Idol” during season 3.

Additional celebrity performers will be announced, reps for the concerts said. Other performers will be drawn from current versions of the stage production, on top of a full choir. Costumes, set design and puppetry will also be borrowed from the Broadway/touring version.

The event precedes the release set for this coming Dec. 20 of a prequel from Walt Disney Studios, “Mufasa: The Lion King,” which like the 2019 version is being described as “live-action” (which, in this case, means a particularly photorealistic brand of animation — not actual singing lions). Eichner is reprising his role as Timon from the five-year-old remake in the forthcoming prequel; Barry Jenkins is directing. The trailer was described as going over well last week at CinemaCon.

Disney and Fulwell 73 previously teamed for “Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium,” a livestreamed concert on Disney+ that went on to win an Emmy, and “Disney’s Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl,” a 2022 concert at the venue that was also turned into a Disney+ special. It would seem likely similar plans might be in the offing for May’s “Lion King” anniversary concerts, although no filming intentions have been announced.

In a brief excerpt, Jennifer Hudson features Common as a guest on her talk show, “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” Graced with a lovely bouquet, the Chicago native shares a warm embrace with her, and the host promptly dives into the burning question.

Hudson wasted no time. She directly asks Common about his dating status in the clip, prompting a response from the hip-hop vet: “Yes…one of the most beautiful people I ever met. She’s smart, and she’s talented.”

The clip doesn’t definitively confirm that Common is addressing Hudson. However, persistent relationship rumors have circulated for some time amid photos of the Chicago stars looking very cozy.

A Dreamgirl found her dream man now that Jennifer Hudson confirmed she’s “very happy” amid a rumored romance with Common.

The 42-year-old was all smiles during her appearance on CBS This Morning on Nov. 6, and a certain rapper is the reason why. After a year of speculation about Jennifer and Common, the singer revealed that she’s officially in a relationship.

Gayle King asked about what everyone wants to know: the talk show host’s love life.

“Word on the street is that you’re very happy?” Gayle asked.

“I am very happy,” Jennifer confirmed.

“Very nice relationship,” Gayle continued, to which Jennifer confirmed, “Yes, ma’am.”

“With someone who shall remain nameless,” Gayle teased about her new love.

The American Idol alum didn’t need to say much because everyone’s been talking about her looking cozy with Common. The two Chicago natives have been friends and worked together for years. They recently got much closer while filming their upcoming action-thriller Breathe in 2022.

“So you’re boo’ed up?” asked co-host Nate Burleson.

“Booed up? I think it’s more sophisticated than boo’ed up,” Jennifer joked. “It’s definitely not an entanglement. That’s for sure,” she added.

It’s giving matching PJs by Christmas.

According to People, cameras spotted the couple on another date night Saturday at Joe’s Pub theater in New York City. Jennifer and Common held hands on Saturday while attending a performance for jazz singer Mikel Mwalimu-Banksat. They even wore coordinated outfits in black, white, and cream.

This week marks the first time the EGOT winner didn’t shut down the dating rumors. In September 2022, she told Entertainment Tonight that Common was only her work husband.

“People create their narratives of it and it’s like, OK, you know, how you feel. We shot a film together and he played my husband. We gotta eat in between those moments,” she explained.

Some social media reactions are already counting down on how long they’ll last because of Common’s reputation as a player. In April, Common’s ex, Tiffany Haddish, threw shade at the couple, joking that he probably gave earrings intended for her to Jennifer.

The comedian claimed in August that Common mysteriously started to ghost her after she thought he was “the one.” She explained that their split “wasn’t mutual,” and the “Used To Love H.E.R.” lyricist broke up with her over the phone.

Hopefully, the new couple has a much happier ending than that.

The photo shows a G-rated version of their alleged romance, but Common definitely looked satisfied! Though his face is slightly turned away from the camera, his toothy smile is visible from the side. Meanwhile, Jennifer appeared to be in mid-reaction.

They kept their ‘fits for their Big Apple date night comfy and cozy. Jennifer Hudson rocked a white jacket, black slacks, and closed-toe boots. While Common pulled off a cream-and-khaki look with white sneakers.

What We Know About Jennifer Hudson And Common’s Rumored Relationship

If this is your first sip of the Jennifer Hudson and Common tea, know that this isn’t the first or second-time fans have romantically linked them.

In September 2022, Jennifer shut down talks of dating the musician in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. At the time, they were filming for the upcoming film Breathe (2024) and were cast as husband and wife.

Days before this most recent NYC photo surfaced, she spoke to Gayle King about being “very happy” in her relationship.

This year’s gala will be hosted by Actor, Comedian, and Host Joel McHale, and will feature an all-star music and comedy line-up, including performances from EGOT-winning singer-songwriter John Legend; GRAMMY-winning country-pop duo Dan + Shay; 8x GRAMMY award winner DJ Pee .Wee (aka Anderson .Paak) spinning an all vinyl set; EGOT Award-winner Jennifer Hudson; and Emmy Award-winning comedian Ray Romano. Paula Abdul Explains Why Being Voted Off ‘American Idol’ Was Good For Jennifer Hudson

It was an “American Idol” reunion on Friday when Paula Abdul dropped by “The Jennifer Hudson Show” for an interview.

Hudson first met Abdul in 2004, when the actor and singer was a contestant on the third season of “American Idol.” Abdul was part of the show’s original trio of judges, which also included music executive Simon Cowell and record producer Randy Jackson. Though Hudson received accolades from fans and even fellow contestants, she placed seventh in the competition series.

In her talk show appearance, Abdul acknowledged that “the whole world was pissed” when Hudson was eliminated from “American Idol.” But she now believes it was a good thing that the future star didn’t emerge from the show a winner.

“People still talk to me about ‘God, that night that Jennifer Hudson was eliminated,’” Abdul said, before recalling a conversation she’d had with Hudson after she was voted off. “I said to you: ‘You know, I have the feeling that some amazing things are going to happen to you. People that need to win win, and the people that don’t need to win end up winning big time.’ And you did.”

It’s hard to argue with Abdul’s assessment. In 2006, Hudson starred as Effie White in the movie musical “Dreamgirls,” for which she won an Academy Award. And last year, she joined the esteemed ranks of EGOT winners when Broadway’s “A Strange Loop,” which she co-produced, received the Tony Award for Best New Musical.

Along the way, Hudson recorded three studio albums and racked up an impressive array of stage and screen credits, which include her debut appearance on Broadway in “The Color Purple” and portraying Aretha Franklin in the 2021 biopic “Respect.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Abdul recalled how a psychic predicted her “American Idol” stint about three years before the series premiered and became a phenomenon. Previously, Abdul had enjoyed global success as a pop star, racking up ’80s and ’90s hits like “Straight Up” and “Opposites Attract.”

Even though her Grammy-winning music career had cooled, she was skeptical about the prospect of a television stint when she talked to the psychic.

“My only reference had been ‘Star Search’ from decades ago, and I’m like: ‘I’m not doing that,’” Abdul explained. “She goes: ‘Honey, you willed it to happen. It’s happening, you’re doing it.’”

She went on to note, “She said it was going to the biggest show, break records on television, and I paid no attention to it. I really didn’t. And it was almost three years to the date when I was into Fox.”

McConaughey, Kunis among People mag’s ‘People of the Year’

Matthew McConaughey, Mila Kunis, Jennifer Hudson and “Abbott Elementary” creator and star Quinta Brunson have been named People magazine’s 2022 “People of the Year.”

LOS ANGELES — Matthew McConaughey, Mila Kunis, Jennifer Hudson and “Abbott Elementary” creator and star Quinta Brunson have been named People magazine’s 2022 “People of the Year.”

The magazine unveiled its annual list Wednesday, with Editor in Chief Wendy Naugle explaining this year’s honorees were selected because of their efforts to help others.

McConaughey was chosen for his advocacy efforts after the Uvalde school shooting rocked his hometown. Kunis was lauded for her fundraising — which People said has topped $37 million — for Ukraine, where she was born.

Hudson and Brunson were honored for their onscreen work. Hudson, who launched a daytime talk show this year, was cited for her efforts to create an inclusive show where everyone felt welcome. Brunson’s “Abbott Elementary,” a critical hit that turned her into an Emmy winner, was praised as a show that brought many joy and showed that different generations can work well together.

Each of the honorees are featured on a special cover that highlights their contributions. Kunis’ includes the quote, “I’m proud to be from Ukraine,” while Brunson includes her statement: “I’m a sign that times are changing.”

McConaughey’s proclaims, “We have to do better for our kids,” while Hudson’s says, “I’m living my dream — and learning as I go.”

Previous People honorees have included George Clooney, Regina King, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Sandra Oh, Selena Gomez and Simone Biles. This year’s special editions will be released Friday.

Jonathan Scott and brother Drew Scott made a recent appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show”, where the “Property Brothers” stars revealed a clever prank that one brother pulled on the other when whey were in high school.

“When we were teenagers, if there was a girl that Drew had a crush on, I would put his clothes on and make an absolute fool out of myself,” Jonathan told host Jennifer Hudson. “Then she would never ever call him, talk to him — anything.”

That got Hudson laughing, and she asked if his goal was to embarrass his brother. “Oh yeah,” he replied, “that’s what brothers do!”

In another portion of the interview, the Scott brothers get candid about their “obsession” with dressing up for Halloween, admitting they’ll sometimes don costumes just because.

They pointed to an example in which the two were dressed in Wonder Woman costumes for no reason, other than Jonathan’s explanation that it was a “random Tuesday.”

“We were doing press in New York and it was themed Wonder Woman,” Jonathan explained, “we had to immediately fly from New York to Toronto. It was a month before Halloween and we went to the airport dressed like that.”

Going through security was a breeze in the Wonder Woman outfits, he quipped, because they had “nowhere to hide anything.”
