  • David Beckham responds after Brooklyn’s explosive Instagram post targets parents

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

David Beckham has broken his silence just hours after his son, Brooklyn, unleashed a series of scathing claims against his parents on social media.

During an appearance on CNBC’s financial program “Squawk Box” on Tuesday, David got candid about the pros and cons of social media, before referencing his kids’ “mistakes.”

“I have always spoken about social media and the power of social media. For the good and for the bad,” David said.

“The bad we’ve talked about with what kids can access these days, it can be dangerous,” he continued. “But what I have found personally, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons. I’ve been able to use my platform and my following for UNICEF. And it has been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children.”

“And I have tried to do the same, I’ve tried to do the same with my children, to educate them,” he said. “They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids. You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well,” he added.

Just hours prior, David dodged a question about his eldest son during an appearance at the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) 56th Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

While smiling for photographs, a reporter for Sky News asked the retired soccer player if he had any thoughts on Brooklyn’s scathing social media post, to which the father-of-four just smiled and walked away.

On Monday, Victoria and David Beckham’s oldest son took to Instagram and shared a lengthy statement about his fractured relationship with his parents.

“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” Brooklyn wrote. “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

BROOKLYN BECKHAM AND NICOLA PELTZ MARRIED: A LOOK AT THEIR LAVISH WEDDING

“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family [with] performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships. … Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.”

The 26-year-old alleged that his parents have been trying to sabotage his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz long before they tied the knot in 2022.

“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped,” he wrote. “My mum canceled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress. Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.”

Brooklyn said he has received “endless attacks” from his parents, both publicly and privately, before detailing the embarrassing moment his mom “hijacked” his first dance with Peltz at their wedding.

“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” he claimed. “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”

A representative for Anthony did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment at the time.

Brooklyn claimed that his family values “public promotion and endorsements above all else.”

“Brand Beckham comes first,” he alleged.

A source told Page Six that the wild claims are “true.”

“As much as this sounds crazy and unhinged, everything Brooklyn said in his statement is true,” one source familiar with the situation told the outlet.

As far as reconciliation is concerned, another insider said, “It’s too late … for now. [Brooklyn’s] had enough.”

David’s former assistant, Rebecca Loos — who has claimed to have had an affair with the former soccer player while he was married to Victoria over 20 years ago — gave her two cents on the situation.

“Rebecca, you gotta see the awesome ditch Brooklyn just posted in his story about David and Victoria and their lies. I feel like Brooklyn is supporting everyone who knows the facade,” one follower wrote on Instagram. “I know you are wonderful and happy and don’t need validation but I think you will feel a source of extra validation.”

DAVID BECKHAM’S FORMER ASSISTANT REBECCA LOOS INSISTS SHE ‘NEVER LIED’ ABOUT AFFAIR CLAIMS

Loos replied, “So happy he is standing up for himself and speaking publicly finally!!!! I have felt so bad for his poor wife, knowing too well what they can be like!”

After another follower wrote, “Fascinating admission from Brooklyn,” Loos replied, “The truth always comes out.”

Representatives for David and Victoria did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

  • John Mellencamp shares his unconventional advice to his children about work

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

While most parents push their kids toward careers, John Mellencamp is doing the opposite.

The 74-year-old rocker said he has never encouraged his children to get jobs, telling them they should focus on doing what makes them happy instead of working a 9-to-5 job.

“I’m the only father in the world that does not encourage their kids to work,” Mellencamp joked during a recent appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience.” “It’s like, what do you want to go to work for?”

The “Jack & Diane” singer is the father of five children: daughter Michelle, 55, whom he shares with ex-wife Priscilla Esterline; daughters Teddi, 44, and Justice, 40, with ex-wife Victoria Granucci.

Mellencamp also has sons Hud, 31, and Speck, 30, with wife Elaine Irwin.

Despite his blunt suggestion, Mellencamp said his kids haven’t exactly followed his advice.

“It’s just like, f— that work stuff. Do what you want to do. You’re 31 years old. You’re handsome. You’re 31 years old, you could beat anybody up in the room,” he said. “But I think he’s getting to the age where he wants to get a job.”

Mellencamp admitted he has mixed feelings about his son potentially wanting to work, especially since Hud still lives near his father.

“And I don’t want him to leave because he still lives on my property. And it’s nice. I love having him there,” he said.

Mellencamp added that having his adult children close by is something he values more than independence or career milestones.

“It’s nice to be able to pick up the phone and have one of your kids come over quickly,” he added.

The rock legend has spoken openly in the past about family, health and staying connected to his children as he gets older.

Teddi first revealed in March 2022 that she had been diagnosed with Stage 2 melanoma. In April 2025, she shared that the cancer had progressed to Stage IV and spread to her brain and lungs.

The actress shares her three kids with her estranged husband, Cash Warren. The two met while filming the 2005 movie “Fantastic Four” and got married in May 2008. After 16 years of marriage, the two announced their separation in January 2025, with Alba filing for divorce a month later, in February.

She recently spoke about what it was like to film a nude scene for the film, which she said was something she “dreaded.”

“I thought that was awful,” she said, according to the New York Post. “It was very humiliating in real life. I grew up with a pretty conservative family, and I am a pretty modest person. I dreaded that scene for weeks. I have a lot of whiplash from those days.”

Alba explained the character she played in the film, Sue Storm, was someone she “looked up to,” adding that while “she was very maternal and very kind,” she was not a pushover.

  • Sissy Spacek credits stage name to her brothers, Southern roots

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Sissy Spacek has her family on her mind all the time.

During a recent sit-down with Ethan Hawke for Interview magazine, Spacek reflected on her unique moniker.

“My mother, her name is Leslie, but the people in her family called her Sister,” Hawke told the Oscar-winning actress. “Did Sissy come from being called sister?”

“My brothers,” Spacek admitted. “My real name is Mary Elizabeth, and when I started school in first grade, they said, ‘Is it Mary or Elizabeth?’”

She began to explain that she felt the need then to “fight for my name,” but her conversation with Hawke was briefly interrupted before she could finish her thought.

When the conversation resumed, she said, “That’s a common Southern nickname for girls.”

DENZEL WASHINGTON SAYS WE’VE BEEN PRONOUNCING HIS NAME WRONG FOR DECADES

The “Carrie” actress recalled frequently hearing her nickname while working on film projects in the South.

“In fact, when I was working on ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’ and they’d call Sissy on the set, there was a stampede,” she said. “Every little girl was nicknamed Sissy.”

Spacek added, “Everybody from Texas is named Sissy or Bubba… I had two older brothers, and my real name is Mary Elizabeth, which my mother called me for years, and I was their little Sissy, so… it stuck.”

While Hollywood provided her stardom – which included an Academy Award and five other Oscar nominations – Spacek admitted that living on a farm in Virginia for the last 40 years provided her the same kind of stability she experienced as a child.

“I’m able to get away from all the noise and work on my garden in my pajamas,” she told Closer Weekly in 2018. “I love to sit on the porch with my battery-operated blower [fan] that I got for Mother’s Day. It’s the human experience, and we are all human, after all.”

She also wrote about her longtime marriage to film director Jack Fisk. The couple tied the knot in 1974 and share two daughters.

As for the secret behind their lasting union? Spacek is still trying to figure that one out.

“I wish I could tell you,” she said. “He’s got this really fabulous sense of humor — actually, it’s so bad that it’s good — and he’s the most creative person I’ve ever met. A lot of it is just luck. We met on [1973’s] ‘Badlands.’ I remember looking around and thinking, ‘OK, who’s the cutest one here?’ He was definitely the cutest.”

Spacek also insisted that despite her high-profile career, her daughters are thankful they’ve enjoyed a quiet life away from the spotlight.

“They appreciate the life that we provided for them, and now they’re reciprocating, and they’re very, very great,” she gushed.

  • Kate Gosselin budgets Christmas for 8 kids ‘to the penny’ after losing reality TV fortune

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Kate Gosselin is breaking down how she budgets for Christmas as a single mom to eight kids, a system she developed after what she described as a “sickening” financial collapse.

The former “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star, 50, took to TikTok this week to share the detailed — and highly calculated — system she follows each holiday season, especially in what she calls “good” and “not-so-good” financial years.

Each November, Kate said she asks her kids for detailed gift lists so she can “take advantage of the holiday sales.”

KATE GOSSELIN WORKS GRUELING 12-HOUR NURSING SHIFTS AFTER REALITY TV FORTUNE DISAPPEARS

Kate shares twins Madelyn and Cara, 25, and sextuplets Aaden, Leah, Alexis, Joel, Collin and Hannah, 21, with her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin.

Although she’s estranged from Collin and Hannah, Kate didn’t say whether they are included in her holiday budget.

Once the lists come in — complete with “a link, size, color and price” — she adds everything into one large note on her phone before the real number-crunching begins.

She starts with the first list, sets a target budget and tries to match that amount for each of her other children.

But Kate admitted things don’t always go according to plan.

Whenever one child’s list exceeds the limit — a scenario she joked happens “often” with her daughter Leah — she raises the budget for everyone else to match it.

She said her goal is fairness, down to the last cent.

She’s kept that promise with a decorated box of cash for each child, a holiday tradition inspired by her own mother, Kate told her followers.

“I know that might sound silly, but, to me, fair is really important,” she said.

Some of her children ask for less, which means Kate will cash out more for them.

“Some will get $150 in their box if they don’t ask for much,” she explained. “It tends to work out really well, and the kids are really happy.”

But not every child ends up with the same box.

“Sometimes not everybody gets a square box,” she admitted. “That means I finished your list completely and unavoidably went over a dollar or two, though that usually doesn’t happen.”

She also buys one larger shared gift for all the siblings.

As her children have gotten older — and their tastes more expensive, she pointed out — she admitted Christmas morning now feels too short.

To stretch out the excitement, she wraps everything, even skincare and toiletries in their stockings, just to “slow them down.”

After years of rebuilding her life following reality TV fame, Kate made it clear that, no matter her financial situation, she’s determined to make Christmas work for all eight children — fairly, precisely and down “to the penny.”

Her latest comments come after she’s spoken about working grueling 12-hour nursing shifts following the collapse of her reality TV fortune.

“Honestly? Providing for 8 kids, college funds which I am proud to say covered all of their college and more and LAWYERS. Sickening but I was drug into court constantly and that costs A TON,” she said in her response. “Sad bc my kids could have a lot more saved and I could have a retirement saved if it weren’t for lawyers. It’s okay. I’m helping other families and I feel needed and I enjoy helping!”

  • Ben Stiller reflects on the ‘dark underside’ of Hollywood fame

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Ben Stiller is opening up about the price of fame — revealing that growing up in a family of Hollywood stars gave him a front-row seat to the “dark underside” of the industry.

In a candid conversation with Howard Stern, the “Zoolander” star reflected on his complex childhood as the son of beloved comedy legends Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara.

While his upbringing gave him an inside view of show business, it also offered a glimpse at the toll fame can take behind closed doors.

“Growing up around it — and we talk [in the movie] about all those things I saw with my parents — you actually, as a kid, see the dark underside of it. The stress. The effect it has on relationships,” Stiller told Stern, referring to his upcoming documentary, “Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost.”

Stiller, 59, explained that while his parents’ success opened doors, it also gave him an unfiltered look at the highs and lows of Hollywood life.

  • Nicole Kidman admits public scrutiny can ‘destroy you’ in interview ahead of Keith Urban split

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Nicole Kidman is no stranger to the spotlight.

In a candid interview, the Oscar-winning actress shared her advice on handling public scrutiny and online judgment — lessons she’s passing on to her teenage daughters.

When asked about dealing with negativity, Kidman told Vogue, “Literally walk away from it … it will destroy you.”

She has encouraged her daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, to, as Vogue described, “follow Taylor Swift’s advice and shake it off.”

Sunday Rose, who began modeling last year and has already walked the runway for luxury brand Miu Miu, is learning to navigate fame herself, Kidman said.

“It’s very frightening for me,” the mother of four admitted. “[But] I started working at 14, so I don’t really have a leg to stand on.”

The “Babygirl” actress shares her two youngest children with Keith Urban. Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on Sept. 30 after 19 years of marriage.

NICOLE KIDMAN DEBUTS STRIKING NEW LOOK WITH DAUGHTERS AFTER KEITH URBAN SPLIT

Before marrying Urban in 2006, Kidman was married to Tom Cruise for more than a decade. The two met on the set of “Days of Thunder” in 1989, married the following year and adopted two children, Isabella and Connor, before splitting in 2001.

Meanwhile, Kidman reflected on life’s unpredictable turns in her Vogue cover story.

When asked about life in her 50s, she said, “How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?”

At the time the interview was conducted, Kidman and Urban’s split had not yet been publicized. By the time the Vogue interview was published on Oct. 8, Kidman had already filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” and “marital difficulties.”

“I can wave from my kitchen to her kitchen!” she told Vogue, adding she’s grateful for what she calls “ride-or-die friendships.”

For Kidman, life’s highs and lows — the pain and losses — aren’t just endured, she said; they help fuel her craft.

“I put it in my work. That’s the beauty of what I do,” she said. “There’s a place for some of this to explode, implode, process, discover.”

  • Bruce Willis’ wife explains tough decision she made to shield young daughters amid dementia battle

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Emma Heming Willis says what’s best for her husband Bruce Willis’ care is not up for debate.

Like many caregivers, the mother of two has been forced to make tough choices for her family in recent years. But none has been as difficult as the decision to move Willis, 70, into a separate home amid his battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) — a move that sparked a debate on social media.

The former model has written a new book, “The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Yourself on the Caregiving Path.” It’s centered on her personal experience as a caregiver for the star. It also serves as a roadmap for new caregivers and their families.

“Sometimes [your loved one’s] needs become more than you are equipped for,” Heming Willis told Fox News Digital. “I think that if someone is not living in your home and doing what you’re doing 24/7, they don’t get a say on it. And if they are living with you, then they do get a say. But I don’t think it’s up for debate, just because someone’s care plan looks different from someone else’s.”

“I wanted to bring this to light because I just feel there’s so much stigma around this conversation,” said the 47-year-old. “You can imagine the judgment and the criticism, which I knew was going to land on my lap.”

In 2022, Willis’ family announced he had been diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that causes loss of the ability to understand or express speech. The “Die Hard” star stepped back from acting that year following his diagnosis.

Nearly a year later, his family revealed Willis had a more specific diagnosis of FTD.

The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration describes FTD as a group of brain disorders caused by degeneration of the frontal and/or temporal lobes of the brain that affect behavior, language and movement, according to The Associated Press. Aphasia can be a symptom of it.

The association describes frontotemporal degeneration as “an inevitable decline in functioning,” with an average life expectancy of seven to 13 years after the onset of symptoms. The progressive disease is terminal and there’s no cure.

As the disease progressed, Heming Willis realized the actor needed more support while she cared for their daughters, Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11.

“It was one of the hardest decisions I needed to make, but I knew it was the right one — the safest and best for our family, for Bruce’s safety and for the safety of our girls,” she explained. “It was important that, as his needs were changing, we needed something different that supported his needs. Our girls also needed a home that supported their needs.”

“I think what happens with caregiving is that people don’t understand that your loved one’s needs are not being met 100% of the time,” she said. “Now, I have comfort in knowing that Bruce is being supported 100% of the time. There’s no better feeling than that.”

Willis’ one-story house is nearby and designed for his treatment and safety, People magazine reported. It offers a “quiet, comfortable and safe environment with round-the-clock care.” It also allows his daughters to be their “high-spirited kid selves” with their mother. The progression of FTD requires Willis to be in a “calm and serene environment,” Heming Willis said.

Their daughters keep clothes, toys and art supplies at Willis’ home, allowing them to spend as much quality time as possible with their dad.

“If I’m receiving judgment for purchasing a second home to make sure that my husband is cared for properly, then what does it look like for other care partners who have to put their loved ones in a facility,” Heming Willis pointed out.

“Can you imagine the criticism and the judgment they face? I wanted other caregivers to know that you’re not alone and everyone’s caregiving journey is different. And what’s most important is that we are supporting other caregivers. We are showing up for them. We are not criticizing or judging them.”

“We’re already hard on ourselves,” she reflected. “We already carry the shame and the guilt. We don’t need the extra. We just need to be supported.”

“I’ve been so fortunate to be able to put the right support in place for them and for myself,” said Heming Willis. “I wanted to know how best to show up for them and talk them through what they might be experiencing or seeing. I just want to help navigate them through this. And I think their relationship with their father is a beautiful one. … They’ve seen this disease progress over time, and we just continue to show up for Bruce and be there for him.”

Over the years, Heming Willis has sought guidance from doctors and experts to better understand FTD, its progression and what caregivers can do to give loved ones the best quality of life. She has been sharing her findings and conversations on social media.

It hasn’t gotten easier with time.

“I am constantly grieving,” Heming Willis admitted. “This is with me at all times. But … you can grieve and also still live a full life. That doesn’t make you any less of a caregiver because you are choosing to also live. And I try to live a full life because I know that Bruce would want that for me and our family.

“I believe it’s so important for caregivers to find someone they trust who they can speak to, where they would not be met with judgment. They can just talk through their feelings. I always tell my girls better out than in. It’s better to get your feelings out than to bottle them in.”

The disease forced Heming Willis to confront a devastating truth. In her book, she wrote that after learning dementia “results in death,” she felt “the ground had been pulled out from under me.” Still, educating herself about FTD and its harsh truths has empowered her to be a better caregiver.

“I think it has really helped me to … get out of denial,” she told Fox News Digital. “That isn’t going to help my situation. … I ask the questions, and I know I’m not going to sometimes like the answers, but it’s important for me to understand. I just want to continue to support Bruce and our family and myself with the right information.”

“We left our diagnosis appointment with no guidance, no roadmap — nothing,” she said. “I, over the last few years … have found these incredible experts and specialists. But I had to dig so deep for that. It’s not readily available unless you have the time, the energy, the access and resources.

Heming Willis hopes her book will help other caregivers who are feeling lost.

“They’re not alone,” she said. “It’s OK to care for yourself. And if you don’t try to take care of yourself, it’s going to be very hard to continue to sustain this journey. … When we ask for help, we are not a failure. We’re not failing our person.”

  • Robin Wright admits ‘huge regret’ about raising kids with ex-husband Sean Penn

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

At 59 years old, Robin Wright is coming to terms with her past and looking forward to the future.

In a recent interview with The Times of London, the “House of Cards” alum opened up about the “huge regret” she has as a mother to her two children, whom she shares with ex-husband Sean Penn, and explained why she left Hollywood and found love and peace in the English countryside.

“I have a huge regret as a mother and have experienced the fallout of this regret for many years with my kids — I wasn’t hard enough on them,” said Wright, who shares daughter Dylan, 34, and son, Hopper, 32, with Penn.

“But [Sean] was gone so much of the time,” she continued. “He’d come back and be the policeman and then he’d leave me with the residue. Then I would soften the blow. We were both extremes. They didn’t get that gray area in the middle, which is stern, and that is what they needed.”

Wright and Penn tied the knot in 1996 and finalized their divorce in 2010. They first began dating in 1989 after Penn divorced Madonna.

In 2014, Wright opened up about her divorce from Penn to The Telegraph and explained why they would break things off and get back together so often.

“Divorce in and of itself, and with children, is devastating. Worse than that,” she told the outlet at the time. “One of the reasons why we got back together and broke up so much was trying to keep the family together. If you’ve got kids, it’s a family, and you try again, and you try again. We did that for a long time.”

After years in the spotlight – and three failed marriages – Wright said goodbye to the hustle and bustle of Hollywood and fled to England in hopes of finding peace.

“I love being in this country. There’s a freedom of self here. People are so kind,” she said. “They’re living. They’re not in the car in traffic, panicked on a phone call, eating a sandwich. That’s most of America. Everything’s rush, competition and speed.”

She added, “Everyone’s building a huge house and I’m just done with all that — I love the quiet. And I’ve met my person. Finally.”

Wright met her current love interest, Henry Smith, 52, in an English countryside pub nearly one year ago.

The couple both came down with COVID-19 shortly after meeting and got to know each other on a whole new level.

“Getting to know each other in deep long COVID was like what’s that called at the airport? The fast track. We did a fast-track getting to know you because we were lying in bed deathly ill, crying, laughing, hugging, loving, snogging, f—ing,” said Wright. “Just like, ‘I want to know you.’”

“I love being alone and I’ve done that many times. But I’m, like, I want to grow old with somebody, and travel and see the world,” she added.

Wright, who has been working in the U.K. on Prime Video’s new six-episode drama, “The Girlfriend,” said she’s looking forward to moving to the English seaside with Smith to simply enjoy life.

“It’s liberating to be done,” she said. “Be done with searching, looking and getting 60 percent of what you wanted.”

  • Experts warn AI stuffed animals could ‘fundamentally change’ human brain wiring in kids

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Do AI chatbots packaged inside plush animals really help children, or do they threaten vital developmental milestones? Companies market them as “screen-free playmates” for toddlers, but pediatric experts warn these toys could trade human connection for machine conversation. Toys like Grem, Grok and Rudi are designed to bond with kids through voice and conversation. Instead of simply replacing screen time, they may replace something far more important: the role of parents and peers in emotional development.

THIS EV HAS A FACE, AND IT TALKS BACK WITH AI

AI-powered stuffed toys, such as Grem (left), could disrupt cognitive and emotional development among young children, experts say. (Curio/©Michael Cuviello/Amarillo Globe-News/USA Today Network/IMAGN)

Why AI stuffed animals worry child experts

Pediatricians and psychologists raise red flags about these AI toys. Young children naturally form attachments. If those attachments shift to chatbots, kids may learn to trust machines more than people. Research already shows children ages 3 to 6 sometimes trust robots more than humans, even when the robots give wrong answers. That undermines how kids build empathy, learn to question, and develop critical thinking. There are also privacy concerns. Parents may not realize that these “personalized” toys are recording conversations. Sensitive information could be stored, analyzed, or misused without families fully knowing.

HOLLYWOOD TURNS TO AI TOOLS TO REWIRE MOVIE MAGIC

How AI toys may disrupt child development

Pediatric experts in early childhood and language development warn that responsive AI could “fundamentally change the wiring of the human brain.” Unlike television or passive media, AI plushies respond in real time, adapting to a child’s questions, stories, and moods. That responsiveness can be powerful. It can encourage curiosity, vocabulary growth, and even creativity. But it can also crowd out human interactions, those subtle facial expressions, pauses, and “nos” that children need to experience to learn empathy and resilience. Another risk is that AI companions are trained to be overly charming and agreeable. Instead of challenging a child’s thinking, these “sycophantic” toys may simply tell kids what they want to hear. Over time, that could nudge children toward believing comforting lies instead of asking hard questions, a toxic pattern for developing critical thinking.

The benefits and risks parents should weigh

Some parents say these AI toys offer relief. They help answer endless questions, tell stories, and spark play. In fact, some early research shows kids learn new words faster when engaging in dialogue with AI rather than passively consuming media. But the tradeoff is significant. If AI becomes the primary companion, kids could miss out on the messy, unpredictable, and deeply human experiences that shape trust, empathy, and social awareness.

    • Check the fine print: Review what data is collected, where it’s stored, and if it can be deleted.
    • Limit use to short sessions: Treat the toy like TV, fun in moderation, not a substitute for playmates.
    • Keep conversations public: Encourage kids to use the toy in family spaces, not behind closed doors.
    • Turn off the cloud if possible: Some models work locally without sending every word to servers.

WE HAVE TO ACT NOW TO KEEP AI FROM BECOMING A FAR-LEFT TROJAN HORSE

Better play alternatives to AI-stuffed animals

If you’re worried about replacing human connection, consider healthier alternatives:

    • Rotate traditional toys to keep novelty alive.
    • Use AI plushies together with your child, treating it as a shared activity instead of a private companion.
    • Encourage kids to retell stories to parents and siblings, not just to the toy.

    What this means for you

Parents need to think critically before bringing an AI-powered plushie into their home. Ask yourself:

    • Do I want my toddler’s first conversations recorded by a company?
    • Could a chatbot toy undermine the natural give-and-take of family interaction?
    • Am I replacing screen time, or am I replacing myself?

Balancing curiosity with caution is key. Occasional use may spark fun, but long-term reliance could reshape your child’s emotional growth in ways no study has yet measured.

    Kurt’s key takeaways

AI stuffed animals may look like harmless, cuddly friends, but the stakes are bigger than bedtime stories. These AI-powered plushie toys raise questions about privacy, trust, and what it means to connect as humans. Technology will always tempt us with convenience, but children learn best through love, attention, and genuine relationships.

Sophie Turner didn’t look back when she left the United States two years ago.

Turner, 29, moved home to London in 2023 following the end of her four-year marriage to singer Joe Jonas.

The “Game of Thrones” actress couldn’t be happier to restart life in her native England, and admitted she never wants to leave again.

“I just feel so at home here; I never want to move again,” Turner told Flaunt

“Living in the states, I didn’t appreciate how much you need friends and family and how integral they are to your wellness until you’re away from them.”

She added, “I came back with an abundance of appreciation for them.”

The “X-Men” star admitted that becoming a mother to Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, had a positive impact on her career.

“Being a mother has affected me more than I can ever say,” Turner told the outlet. “I can now bring so much of that into my work and into this film too.”

Turner and Jonas finalized their divorce in September, one year after the former couple split. The pair reached an agreement through moderated negotiations regarding spousal support, splitting the former couple’s assets and custody of their two children.

Judge Gina Beovides declared that the marriage was “irretrievably broken,” and that the couple’s agreement, especially their parenting plan, was in the best interest of the family. The Miami-Dade County judge approved the agreement in September.

Turner and Jonas first met in 2016 after the Jonas Brothers singer reached out to the actress via Instagram. They got engaged in 2017 and tied the knot in an impromptu Vegas wedding in 2019.

Jonas originally filed for divorce in a Florida court in September 2023, Fox News Digital previously confirmed.

“After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” the estranged couple later wrote in a joint statement. “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision, and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

Shortly following the divorce announcement, Turner sued Jonas in a New York court over the custody of their two children. She claimed she learned of the divorce filing “through the media” in the court documents obtained by Fox News Digital. The marriage between Turner and Jonas broke down “very suddenly” following “an argument” that occurred on the “Cake by the Ocean” singer’s 34th birthday.

Turner also accused Jonas of “the wrongful retention” of their daughters for multiple days. The actress said Jonas’ attorney, Thomas J. Sasser, acknowledged that the pop star wouldn’t give up the kids’ passports or “consent for the children to return home to England.”

Turner recalled being portrayed as a bad mom in tabloids and on gossip sites, while Jonas was shown as the doting dad to their daughters. She told British Vogue “those were the worst few days of my life.”

“I remember I was on set. I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks, so I couldn’t leave. My kids were in the States and I couldn’t get to them because I had to finish ‘Joan.’ And all these articles started coming out. It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother — mum guilt is so real! I just kept having to say to myself, ‘None of this is true. You are a good mum and you’ve never been a partier.’”

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Kate Gosselin is setting the record straight and firing back at rumors that have followed her since the cameras stopped rolling.

The former “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star opened up during a candid moment and addressed misconceptions about her that she wanted to clear up.

“That I stole my kids’ college money,” Gosselin said during a TikTok Live on Friday night.. “They all have their college money, all the money that was in my control, anyway. And they have more than enough for college. That’s not a thing. That never happened. I’ll just leave it at that.”

The 49-year-old mother of eight also shut down another accusation – that she’s estranged from daughter Hannah, one of the sextuplets who chose to live with ex-husband Jon Gosselin in recent years.

“Hannah’s texting me,” Gosselin said. “First of all, the misconception that Hannah and I don’t talk — we always have … Hannah and I have always talked. She comes and visits, she is in touch with the kids all the time. Not true.”

She admitted that she “could go on and on with misconceptions, but those are the two that came to mind.”

Kate’s comments come after she gave a glimpse into her current day-to-day life, which includes working 12-hour shifts as a pediatric nurse.

“Today was a busy day, it was another 12-hour day,” Kate told her followers on TikTok earlier this month.

“And so now I work again tomorrow morning, so I have my dishes loaded into the dishwasher … so I can go to bed and get up early and do it all over again,” she continued.

While several people praised her work ethic in the comments, one fan asked her what happened to all the income she earned working on the show.

It’s OK. I’m helping other families and I feel needed and I enjoy helping!”

The former reality star first gained national attention when she appeared on the hit TLC show, “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which chronicled how she and Jon managed their eight children, which included one set of twins and one set of sextuplets.

The show was on the air from 2007 to 2009, before the couple’s divorce in 2009 brought it to an end. Kate then starred in the show’s spin-off, “Kate Plus 8,” which showed what her life was like as a single mother.

Gladys Knight denied claims her son made over the status of her well-being.

The “Midnight Train to Georgia” singer’s son, Shanga Hankerson, accused Knight’s husband, William McDowell, of mental and financial abuse, and told People magazine that he filed a complaint with authorities in North Carolina.

Despite his allegations, Knight, 81, confirmed to Fox News Digital that she’s “doing very well” while on the road with Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle and Stephanie Mills as part of “The Queens” tour.

“I’m sorry that my health and performances have been misrepresented,” Knight said in a statement. “I want my fans and those concerned to rest assured I am doing very well for someone who has been on stage for three quarters of a century, hard to believe, right?”

She added, “I’m healthy and happy and visiting  friends and family these last few months. I’m excited to get back on the road with my sisters and on stage with ‘The Queens Tour’ – see you soon.”

Hankerson told People magazine that he filed a complaint with the Department of Human Services in Buncombe County, North Carolina earlier this month due to what he claimed was McDowell’s mental and financial abuse over his mother.

“I did my best to give [McDowell] the space to play the role of husband and do what was in my mom’s best interest, and he has not done that,” Hankerson said. “Why is she working? Why is she in this situation where she’s being made to believe that she has to work like this? That’s really my issue with it.”

Shanga, 49, is Knight’s son with music executive Barry Hankerson. Knight married her third husband, William McDowell, in 2001.

The music legend’s publicist doubled down against accusations that Gladys was unwell, and told Fox News Digital that the allegations were “unfounded.”

Gladys and her team are greatly saddened by Shanga’s unfounded allegations, especially as he has had no substantial contact with her,” Laura Herlovich said. “She has not been on tour since June 1st and can’t wait to begin touring again in September.”

Herlovich added, “At this time our lawyers have no choice but to explore any and all legal remedies due to Shanga’s defamatory comments.”

Hankerson told People magazine, “They can say what they want. If her health has been misrepresented then supply evidence of reliable and verifiable, expert medical opinion that will stake their practice and reputation on their claim to the contrary.”
