  • EastEnders: Max tries to make amends with his family after wrecking Jimmy’s christening tonight

    [ad_1]

A guilt-ridden Max Branning wrecked Jimmy’s christening in EastEnders tonight (Tuesday, December 30) after clashing with Cindy Beale in front of their horrified friends and family. Max turned up at the church last night, where he shared a shocking reunion with Cindy Beale.

Each realising who the other was, the pair soon made everything about them.

And, as the christening devolved into violence, Peter took a swing at Max – getting one back for his trouble. Max’s bad behaviour continued back on the Square, where he continued to make an enemy of himself with… well, everyone.

Here’s everything that happened in EastEnders tonight.

Max and Cindy ruined Jimmy’s christening in EastEnders tonight

As the episode continued tonight, the penny dropped for Cindy that she was sharing a room with the one and only Max Branning. Sensing tension between the pair, it didn’t take those gathered long to realise that something had gone on between Max and Cindy.

Furious at Max for derailing everything, Peter took a swing at his father-in-law. Max retaliated by punching Peter right back. Outside, he was ordered to leave by everyone – including his grandson, Louie.

Back in Walford, a moody and aggressive Max continued to antagonise his family. Multiple parties tried to make Max see sense, but he went on stropping and lashing out at pretty much everyone in his path.

Full of booze, he returned to Peacock’s Palace in a more somber mood. After apologising to Linda for his behaviour, he continued to wallow in self-pity. There was still one page left in the Max Branning playbook though – making a move on Linda after he mistook her kind words for something else.

  • EastEnders fans full of praise for ‘phenomenal’ episode as old faces return for Nigel

    [ad_1]

EastEnders fans have heaped praise upon tonight’s episode (Tuesday, December 23) – in which a sick Nigel Bates was visited by a series of faces from Walford past. Nigel’s dementia symptoms have begun to worsen over the past week, resulting in him turning violent and having conversations with non-existent persons.

Fleeing from the screening of his festive film, Nigel took refuge in The Vic last night – which is when he was reunited with Walford icon Pat Evans. More spirits laid in wait as the soap continued tonight – including Barry Evans and ex-wife Debbie.

Here’s what happened in EastEnders tonight.

Pat, Barry and Debbie returned for Nigel in EastEnders tonight

Walking into The Vic, a confused Nigel pulled up a pew with Pat. They then watched as another face from the past – Barry Evans! – began crooning over the karaoke machine. Nigel joined Barry for a song before they too shared a drink at the bar.

As Nigel stressed over a missing Christmas present he’d bought for Debbie, he spotted a young Phil and Grant (Daniel Delaney and Teddy Jay), wrestling across the bar. Chatting with the younger counterparts of his friends, Nigel continued to stress about Debbie’s missing present.

And, talking of Debbie: as the mood shifted, so she too appeared in Nigel’s confused state. As he was reunited with his lost love, the pair shared a moving dance on the floor of The Vic.

    Phil decided on Nigel’s future

Snapping back to reality, Nigel reawakened to find Julie in his arms instead of Debbie. Growing confused, he became violent – cornering a terrified Julie. His anger only worsened when Phil arrived, coming at him with a bar stool.

Handing over Nigel’s Christmas gift to Julie, he returned to the community centre, where the film was still playing. After sending Alfie back to unlock the doors of The Vic, Phil kicked everyone out – taking their laughter at the film as mockery of Nigel.

Left alone with the film, Phil came to a sad realisation.

Meanwhile, back in The Vic, Julie opened her gift from Nigel. It was a heart-shaped locket, with the inscription ‘remember me. Remember us. Always,’ written on it.

Realising he’d been wrong about his promise to Nigel, Phil returned home. After apologising to Julie, he sat down and broke the news to Nigel that they’d be exploring care options.

As the pair shared a toastie on the bench in the Square, Nigel too agreed, giving Phil his blessing – whatever happens next.

Fans full of praise for ‘phenomenal’ special episode

As the episode aired, fans took to social media to share their thoughts on what had just transgressed. And many were in agreement that this one was an episode for the books.

“One of the most powerful episodes of EastEnders ever,” commented one fan on Reddit.

“Wow, that was the best episode of the year!!!!!!!!” said another.

A third agreed: “I’m absolutely sobbing that was incredibly powerful. Ben knocked it out of the park with this one.”

“Wow that was a phenomenal episode. Phil, Nigel and Julie all knocked it out of the park and it was amazing to see Pat and Barry again,” said a fourth.

Did Nigel’s special episode live up to all the hype?

  • Everything that happens next as Lauren’s charity money theft is exposed

    [ad_1]

Lauren Branning’s theft of the charity money was exposed in EastEnders tonight (Wednesday, December 17) as she was forced to come clean to Peter and her family. Viewers will remember that a desperate Lauren stole the cash to fund a medical procedure to help baby Jimmy… a procedure which turned out to be a scam.

With Peter aware that the money’s gone missing, a suspicious Max soon begins sniffing around. And, after noticing how close Ian and Lauren have grown in his absence, soon theorises that Ian stole it – and started the fire – as an insurance scheme.

Backed into a corner, Lauren was forced to admit the truth. But what happens next?

It wasn’t long before Max was causing a scene again (Credit: BBC)

Max confronted Ian over the fire

As his return to Walford continued, Max waited at Oscar’s side as he recovered in hospital from the fire. He soon grew suspicious over recent events – namely, the missing charity money, and Laurena and Ian suddenly becoming inseparable.

Returning to Albert Square with Oscar and the family, Max headed across the street to pay a visit to his old flame Linda. Oblivious to Annie (and her shock of red hair), he asked Linda for a room at the newly-established Peacock Palace.

The pair then headed to The Albert, where she filled him in on everything (well, not everything) that had happened over the past five years. He revealed that he planned to stick around, even revealing that he hoped to bring Abi Jr. (currently staying with ex-wife Tanya) back to Walford when he was all set up.

Afterwards, still suspicious about the fire, Max headed back to the scene of the fire, where he confided in Jack that something was amiss. He was convinced that Ian had started the fire as some kind of insurance scam.

And, at The Vic, an ugly confrontation took place. Max accused Ian of stealing the charity money and starting the fire.

And, as he began throttling his former rival, Lauren was forced to admit that she’d stolen the money.

As the soap continues tomorrow (Thursday, December 18), the Beales and the Brannings reel in shock from Lauren’s admission. Max, still set on being there for his children, steps up in support of Lauren.

But how will Peter and the family react to news that she stole the money? Will Max ignore another crime on the behalf of his family? And can Ian and Max settle their differences?

Whatever happens, it seems as though the families attempt to move forward in time for Christmas – with next week’s spoilers revealing that an awkward Christmas dinner between Max, Ian and his children is on the cards.

  • EastEnders announces Barry Evans return as Nigel’s dementia symptoms intensify at Christmas

    [ad_1]

EastEnders has announced that Barry Evans is returning to the soap next month. Bumbling Barry appeared on the soap for ten years, played by actor Shaun Williamson – before meeting his fateful (fatal) end on New Year’s Day in 2004.

Viewers will remember Barry died after falling from a cliff while arguing with wife Janine. And, as Janine tried to wriggle out of responsibility for pushing her husband so, an iconic line was born. If only he’d worn slip-on shoes, eh!

Barry will join fellow Albert Square icon Pat Evans in their return to The Vic, as a special episode lets us see the world through Nigel’s eyes – taking him back to 1990s-era Walford.

Barry will return to the soap for a very special episode next month (Credit: BBC)

Barry Evans to return to EastEnders for Christmas

The soap gave a  tease as to Barry’s return earlier today, with a cryptic social media post to its X and Instagram accounts. A partially unwrapped Christmas present revealed a pair of shoes (size 8) with the barcode 01012004 – referencing the date Barry fell to his death.

“Christmas is all about cracking open surprises,” read the caption on Instagram.

Announcing the news of Barry’s return, Executive Producer Ben Wadey said: “I’m delighted to welcome Shaun Williamson back to EastEnders for Nigel’s special episode.”

He continued: “Barry Evans was renowned for being one of Walford’s unluckiest residents, most notably for his choice of shoes. And so it was a privilege to welcome him back alongside Pat for these special scenes in The Vic.”

But what can viewers expect from Barry’s scenes next month?

Shaun Williamson breaks silence on return to soap

As news of his return broke, Shaun said: “It was a complete shock getting the call to go back to Albert Square, but so exciting!

“I have to admit to a few nerves (loads!) when I walked back onto the set of The Queen Victoria. But it was so great to work with old friends and colleagues on such a brilliant episode.”

He finished: “Just goes to show, you never know what’s around the corner!”

Like Pat, Barry will return as Nigel holds a screening of his festive film in December. As his dementia symptoms intensify, Nigel imagines he’s back in The Vic in the 1990s, where he sees old friends and neighbours Barry and Pat again.

    [ad_1]

EastEnders has revealed plans for Pat Evans’ return to the soap, with Pam St. Clement reprising the iconic role. Pat’s shocking return comes as Nigel’s dementia symptoms intensify, causing him to see visions of his life in the 1990s.

This comes thirteen years after Pat’s death in the soap – dying of cancer on New Year 2012. Pam briefly returned for a cameo in 2016, visiting dying friend (and love rival) Peggy Mitchell as she too lay dying.

And, as the soap prepares to air their latest Christmas surprise – which Pam has already filmed – the actress has opened up about her return to EastEnders.

This is not a drill – Pat is coming back to EastEnders! (Credit: BBC/Composite: ED!)

    EastEnders reveals Pat Evans’ return

Speaking about her surprise comeback, Pam revealed:  “I was both surprised and excited to be asked back to tread the streets of Walford once again and to be involved in Nigel’s touching dementia storyline.

She continued: “It was lovely to be welcomed back by those with whom I had worked for so long. It was just like coming home.”

Meanwhile, Executive Producer Ben Wadey paid tribute, saying: “It’s an honour and a privilege to welcome Pam St Clement back to EastEnders for a special episode in Nigel’s ongoing dementia storyline.

“Pat Evans is one of the most cherished and iconic characters to have graced the streets of Walford, and I know I speak on behalf of everyone when I say what a delight it was to see Pat and Pam back in The Queen Vic as she helps Nigel in his time of need.”

The soap teased Pat’s return earlier today (Thursday, November 13), posting an image of a Christmas tree to its social media accounts. Hanging from that tree? A pair of very distinctive-looking earrings.

Pat ‘returns’ as Nigel’s dementia symptoms intensify

Pat’s surprise comeback comes as Nigel’s dementia symptoms intensify over the Christmas period. According to the BBC, Nigel grows confused after screening his festive film for friends and neighbours. His thoughts then turn to the 1990s – which is where Pat is waiting.

EastEnders worked with Dementia UK to ensure that they have portrayed Nigel’s story portrayed accurately and sensitively.

  • What happens in EastEnders next as Harry suffers an overdose and Teddy pleads guilty to murder

    [ad_1]

Teddy Mitchell decided to plead guilty to murder in EastEnders tonight (Thursday, November 13), condemning himself to a lengthy stretch behind bars. Back home, Harry was also in a perilous situation, as he struggled with his drug addiction as a way of coping with his dad’s arrest.

And, as he wrestled with his own guilt, Harry gave in to temptation and overdosed on drugs. Is Teddy really going down for fifteen years? And will Harry survive his overdose?

Here’s what happens after the explosive events of EastEnders tonight.

More bad news for Nicola in EastEnders tonight

With Teddy still behind bars, Nicola tried to maintain an air of normality for Barney and Harry. However, Harry soon realised that the police had charged Teddy with murder, and wanted to confess.

Nicola managed to convince him otherwise, although he was further rattled by a visit from terrified Kojo, who feared he was being sent back to Ghana. Full of guilt and struggling with his addiction symptoms, Harry contacted his dealer.

Meanwhile, Nicola sat down for a visit with Teddy at the prison. He had even more bad news in store for Nicola, telling her how he planned on pleading guilty to Okie’s murder.

This meant that he now faced a fifteen-year stretch behind… all for what should have been a cut-and-dry case of self-defence.

  • Harry Mitchell dead? All we know about his fate as Kojo raised the alarm in EastEnders tonight

    [ad_1]

Things were looking particularly grim for Harry Mitchell in EastEnders tonight (Tuesday, November 4), as his continued hostage ordeal came to an end in particularly harrowing fashion. As Teddy informed George and Junior what had been going on, Kojo made a break for freedom – leaving Harry to face Okie’s wrath.

Teddy managed to get to his son’s side before Okie could move him to another location, but Harry was unconscious and unresponsive as the episode ended. And, as the police arrived on the scene, it wasn’t clear whether Harry had survived – especially not after the brutal kicking he’d just gotten from Okie, to boot.

But is Harry dead? Here’s what happened in EastEnders tonight – and all we know about poor Harry’s fate.

Teddy was beginning to panic (Credit: BBC)

George learned the truth in EastEnders tonight

Teddy returned from Cardiff in EastEnders tonight. Having had no luck finding Harry, he made a beeline for Kojo’s flat.

Harry and Kojo were inside, of course – although Okie and one of his thugs were holding them both quiet. Spotting Teddy banging on the door, Junior enquired how his trip to Cardiff had gone. Out of ideas, Teddy instructed him to fetch George.

Teddy returned home where he found Barney, part-way through a Bruce Lee binge. After sending his other son out for the day, Teddy hosted a visit from George and Junior. He explained what had happened, revealing how Ravi and Okie had been using the flat to sell drugs.

George immediately went to call the police, although Teddy was quick to point out that Kojo could go to prison for what he’d done. Rather than storming straight over to the flat, the three men sat and debated what to do next.

Kojo raised the alarm in EastEnders tonight

Meanwhile, at the flat, Kojo was panicking over sick Harry. Already stressed out over the business, Okie promised to fetch some painkillers, before leaving – ordering Kojo not to leave on his way out.

Finding the key to Harry’s chains in one of Okie’s bags, Kojo released his friend. Poor Harry was too weak to walk though, and begged Kojo to save himself.

As George, Teddy and Junior continued their debate, a panicked Kojo came rushing in. Revealing that an imperiled Harry was at the flat, Kojo ran off again – with Teddy and George in hot pursuit.

Meanwhile, Harry, all alone in the flat, struggled to pull himself across the floor as Okie returned. Realising that Kojo had fled, Okie began laying into Harry. Kojo, George and Teddy arrived at the flat moments later, to find it empty.

As Kojo and Teddy gave chase, George regarded the situation in the flat, finding Kojo’s smashed-up taxi. Meanwhile, Teddy and Kojo found Okie and his boys, trying to drag Harry into the back of a van.

The van sped away – minus Harry, thankfully – as the police arrived on the scene. With Harry unconscious and unresponsive, Kojo was horrified to realise that George had called the police.

A dramatic end to EastEnders tonight. But what happens next?

Harry returns to Walford next week (Credit: BBC)

What happens next as Harry’s hostage ordeal finally ends

While EastEnders spoilers for tomorrow and Wednesday don’t reveal Harry’s fate, he seems to be alive as the story continues next week. With the police getting involved, Priya storms over and accuses him of lying about Ravi’s involvement in the drugs operation.

Matters go from bad to worse when Okie returns to The Square. After cornering Kojo at the flat, he demands that Kojo text Harry and bring him over.

Suffering from withdrawals, Harry has gone to see a dealer about some drugs – but rushes to Kojo’s side when he gets his message. As a fight breaks out, Harry ends up accidentally stabbing Okie.

  • Sam Mitchell running Ravi’s drug operation, EastEnders fans predict

    [ad_1]

Fans of EastEnders have predicted that Sam Mitchell is the sinister drug lord running Ravi Gulati’s operation. Little is known about the figure spearheading Ravi and Okie’s business – although they’re clearly a fearsome figure.

This has led to much fan speculation as to who the mysterious drugs boss could be. And many have wondered if it could be a figure from the soap’s past – including the likes of Vincent Hubbard, and Paul Trueman.

With rumours suggesting that Sam Mitchell is about to return to the soap, some have wondered whether she could be the drug lord in question.

Sam Mitchell behind drug operation, EastEnders fans predict

As fans continued to theorise about the identity of the mysterious drug lord, some wondered if Sam Mitchell might be Ravi‘s boss.

“Imagine if Sam is the big boss working above Nicola – the one she claims she was scared of. This would be a great twist and remember Sam and Zack were involved in drugs at Peggy’s at one point,” wrote one fan on X.

“Think Sam is the big boss,” said another.

“Calling it now – Sam Mitchell,” a third agreed, over on Reddit.

    Sam Mitchell’s return ‘confirmed’

Inside Soap seemed to confirm Sam’s return to the soap this week. In a piece by columnist Laura-Jayne, the journalist wrote: “Actress Kim Medcalf, who plays sly Sam, has been spotted on the EastEnders set, sparking speculation as to what brings Phil’s kid sister back again.”

While the BBC have yet to officially announce news of Sam’s return, this adds to rumours that actress Kim has resumed the role.

Sam was last seen in January 2020, leaving the soap under a dark cloud amid her feud with brother Phil. Feeling purposeless in Walford, she decided to seek pastures new – and left, after stealing money from Phil’s safe.

  • Jonno dropped dead in EastEnders tonight… here’s how it leads to Ben Mitchell’s return

    [ad_1]

Tonight’s episode of EastEnders (Thursday, September 11) saw the vile Jonno Highway drop dead, leaving son Callum shocked. Jonno’s sudden departure came as relations between father and son hit an all-time low, and Jonno suffered a heart attack.

Things had gotten off to a surprisingly amicable start, but it wasn’t long before Jonno let his true colours show again. Realising that Jonno wanted money, Callum ordered his father to leave.

In response, Jonno grew angry and emotional… and suddenly collapsed to the floor.

Jonno dropped dead in EastEnders tonight

Callum ran to fetch Anthony as his father collapsed to the floor. Left at Jonno’s side, Johnny called an ambulance. Meanwhile, Jonno was vile to the last – and used his last breath to tell Johnny how disappointed he was in his son.

By the time Callum returned, Jonno had died. Seeing how upset Callum was, Johnny lied, telling him that Jonno had asked for Callum’s forgiveness, and professed his love.

Callum and Johnny then then fell into an embrace, kissing passionately on the exact spot where homophobic abuser Jonno had died only hours before.

EastEnders spoilers: Ben Mitchell returns following death of Jonno

Of Ben’s return, star Max Bowden said: “He’s coming back as a doting husband. He’s managed to get a transfer from the US and he comes back for a brief stint which was lovely to film and see everybody.

Max continued: “He’s been a naughty boy. He’s essentially… he gets extradited on a day release and he comes back for Callum’s dad’s funeral!’”

But with Callum and Johnny’s affair having resumed, how will they cope with the sudden return of Ben? And can they trust Phil to keep his mouth shut about what he witnessed?

Ben doesn’t come to the funeral alone either. Also in attendance is Jonno’s other son, Stuart Highway. But what has become of Stuart since we saw him last?

  • Who was Callum’s dad, Jonno Highway? EastEnders villain explained

    [ad_1]

The estranged father of Callum Highway returns to EastEnders tonight (Tuesday, September 9), as Jonno arrives back in Walford for the first time in six years. Callum is blindsided by his dad’s sudden return when he intercepts a homophobic attack on Eve at The Albert… soon realising that Jonno hasn’t changed at all.

But who exactly was Jonno Highway, and when was he last on the soap?

From his homophobic past to the actor who plays him, here’s everything we know about Callum’s old man.

Bullying Jonno is Callum’s estranged father (Credit: BBC)

    Who is EastEnders’ Jonno Highway?

Jonno Highway is the father of brothers Callum and Stuart Highway. He first appeared on the soap when he was contacted by Callum’s fiancée at the time, Whitney Dean. Arriving ahead of the wedding in 2019, he soon set the cat among the pigeons after clashing with Ben Mitchell.

As it emerged, Jonno was violently homophobic, and fought Ben after making a comment about gay Pride. The soap later revealed that Jonno had not been a good father, and had even been violent toward Stuart in the past.

Jonno left soon after his initial arrival, with Stuart quickly sending him packing.

Why did Jonno Highway leave EastEnders?

When Jonno returned to Walford a few  months later, he was horrified to find that Callum and Whitney’s wedding had not gone ahead. Instead, Callum had come out as gay, to Jonno’s disgust.

He didn’t take this news well at all, and blamed Ben for turning his son into ‘one of them.’ During the resultant confrontation, Jonno earned a punch from Phil, who leapt to his son’s defense in typically violent (but untypically supportive) Phil Mitchell manner.

Jonno left again soon after that, disowning his son before he went. Jonno has been absent from his son’s life since his exit from the soap in 2019.

    Who plays Jonno Highway?

Jonno is played by actor Richard Graham. The prolific actor has also appeared in episodes of Vera, Midsomer Murders and New Tricks.

Outside of television, Richard has also appeared in a number of major movies. His film credits include the 2016 football hooligan film ID2: Shadwell Army, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright’s The World’s End, and 2018 Best Picture nominee Phantom Thread.

He is also a director of several short films, having notched up eight titles between 2021 and 2024.

Why has Jonno returned to EastEnders?

EastEnders spoilers have revealed that Jonno returns to Walford after being suspected of a homophobic attack. Johnny gets involved after Callum arrests his father, and attempts to mend bridges between the pair.

However, Jonno reveals his true colours yet again when Callum refuses his request of money. Further spoilers down the line have revealed that Jonno’s return also leads to the comeback of his other son, Stuart, when Jonno suffers a heart attack.

Don’t expect him to be sticking around for much longer, then! However, his return will continue to cause trouble for Callum, even from beyond the grave…

With Jonno dead, Stuart returns to the soap for his dad’s funeral. Meanwhile, Ben is granted day release from prison so that he may attend the funeral, reuniting with husband Callum. But will he find out about Callum’s affair with Johnny?

  • Is Anthony the father of Zoe’s twins on EastEnders?

    [ad_1]

EastEnders this week dropped the bombshell revelation that Zoe Slater gave birth to twins after leaving Walford – putting ex-fiancée Anthony Trueman in the running to be their father. In last night’s episode (Thursday, September 4), Zoe revealed to Max Branning that she’d had kids in 2006… but who was the father?

In the wake of last week’s episodes, fans are convinced that it could be Anthony Trueman.

Here’s all the clues so far as to why he could be the father.

Anthony was reunited with his ex this week (Credit: BBC)

    Did Anthony father Zoe’s twins?

Following this week’s bombshells, fans took to social media to share their theories on the twins’ paternity. And, in a list which also included Den Watts and son Dennis Rickman, Anthony soon rose to the top of the pile.

“So she was in debt because she was trying to look out for her son and TRUSTED MAX? Good he’s not the father so this just leads to Anthony,” wrote one fan on X.

“Anthony’s baby I’d say,” said another.

A third agreed: “the way Zoe reacted when she saw Anthony Truman treating her on the floor at The Vic says to me he’s the father.”

“Could it be Anthony (as they did have a relationship and could have reunited),” asked another.

    Could it be true?

All the ‘clues’ so far that Anthony is the daddy

Following the shooting, Zoe shared an awkward reunion with Anthony. As Zoe lay bleeding out on the floor of The Vic, Anthony revealed that he now had a wife and children of his own.

And, to many, Zoe’s reaction seemed remarkably suspicious (dismissing the fact she literally had a bullet in her abdomen at the time). Add to that, when she first stepped foot in The Vic on Tuesday, her visible discomfort at seeing Anthony again.

While Anthony and Zoe broke up well before 2006, they could very well have reconnected off-screen over the years, resulting in her pregnancy.

Furthermore, the timelines for Den and Dennis just don’t make sense. Zoe had Den’s baby aborted in early 2005, so the twins’ birth date of 2006 simply wouldn’t add up. Meanwhile, Dennis famously refused to touch Zoe during her fake pregnancy at the same time, so it’s unlikely they were subsequently intimate enough for her to get pregnant.

Zoe could very well have met another, as yet unknown, character at some point in 2005, but for now Anthony is the most likely suspect.

  • Max Branning returned as Zoe Slater fights for her life… but what’s their connection?

    [ad_1]

EastEnders icon Max Branning made his return to the soap tonight (Wednesday, August 3), as it was revealed that he has a surprise connection with Zoe Slater. Max’s sudden comeback came as Zoe’s life hung in the balance, after being shot by Ravi and Max.

Zoe’s grievous injuries came as the bitter rivalry between Jack and Ravi escalated, resulting in a violent confrontation. In yesterday’s episode, Ravi learned that Jack was in possession of Okie’s gun, and attempted to steal it back from the police officer.

However, Jack learned that Ravi had taken the gun, and confronted him outside. As the pair got into a scuffle, the gun was fired, and hit Zoe. As Anthony and local paramedics rushed to save her life, Zoe’s phone began to ring.

Max Branning returned to EastEnders tonight

As Zoe fought for her life, Kat worried that her daughter was on the run from someone who might mean her harm. And, as Zoe’s phone began ringing, Kat answered.

The figure on the other end of the line didn’t say a word, leaving Kat unaware as to his true identity. It was Max Branning, trying to reach Zoe.

But what’s their connection? And what does Max want from Zoe?

What happens next as EastEnders reveals Max Branning and Zoe Slater connection

The soap first shared the news that Max Branning would be returning earlier this year.  Speaking of his comeback, actor Jake Wood said: “I’m over the moon to be coming home to Walford.”

He continued: “Max has got lots of unresolved drama with many characters, so I’m sure he’ll be busy. I’m excited to see what he’s been up to, and what is next for the character. But if his last 15 years in the Square are anything to go by, I’m sure there will be plenty of chaos.”

Max is notably absent from spoilers for the rest of this week and next, so we’ll have to wait and see how Max and Zoe know each other… and what he wants from her.

  • EastEnders follow-up: All the potential gunshot victims as a bullet is fired

    [ad_1]

In tonight’s shocking EastEnders cliffhanger (for Tuesday, September 2), a gunshot rang out across Albert Square – but who’s been shot? This came as the vicious rivalry between Jack Branning and Ravi Gulati escalated, causing a fight to break out between the two men.

As Jack and Ravi wrestled on the ground, both men reached out for the firearm. But, as they fought over the gun, it went off.

EastEnders spoilers for tomorrow have revealed that one unlucky resident’s life will hang in the balance – but who’s been shot? Join us as we take a look at all the likeliest victims.

Kat and Zoe were nearby when the gun was fired

Zoe and Kat were the two closest parties when the gun went off. Not only that, but the gun also fired in their direction, making a Slater woman the most likely victim.

As the episode ended, Zoe was determined to leave Walford again – so what better to convince her to stick around for a permanent return than her mum suffering a terrible injury?

Or, instead, the bullet might have struck Zoe. A grievous (but not too grievous) injury would certainly be enough to incapacitate her, making her unable to leave the Square as she’d planned.

The soap has teased that the majority of Zoe’s secrets will be revealed tomorrow. Will she spill her guts from a hospital bed?

Who was shot in EastEnders tonight?

    Howie had fled The Vic

Where was Howie when the gun went off? He’d not long fled The Vic after finding himself unable to go through with Patrick’s Best Man speech.

We know that he’s out there on the streets of Walford. Might he have been lurking near the Square, or on his way back into the pub? And if so, will he survive? With rumours spiralling that Howie might leave the soap this year, could he be killed off?

Denise was aware of the situation

Jack and Ravi’s confrontation came about after she told Jack that she’d witnessed her former lover leaving their home. Furious, Jack had stormed off to confront Ravi.

Presuming that Denise followed, she might have been nearby when the gun went off.

    Kim foreshadowed her fate

Another one with good reason to be outside, Kim had just wrapped up her Best Man’s speech at the reception when it all kicked off. Might she have headed outside in search of Howie?

Last week’s episode appeared to foreshadow something as one scene saw Kim playing about with a water pistol, potentially teasing a grim fate for Kim. Are the Kimfluencer’s days numbered?

    Zoe hugs Mo on EastEnders

    Zoe reunited with Big Mo

Earlier in the episode, Zoe enjoyed an emotional reunion with grandma Mo. Mo shared her fear that she would never see Zoe again, even joking about her bad heart and advanced age as they chatted.

She too might have headed outside, keen to prevent Zoe from leaving for another two decades or so. In doing so, might Mo be killed by a stray bullet? The shocking death of a loved one would certainly give cause for Zoe to stick around.
