Warning: This article deals with an account of an eating disorder that could be triggering for some readers.

We’re right in the thick of “I’m A Celebrity“, and between the scarcity of food and the crazy challenges, the jungle’s really taking its toll on this bunch of stars. With all this time together, it’s no surprise the contestants are starting to share more details about their personal lives. In Tuesday night’s episode, influencer Skye Wheatley bravely opened up about her battle with an eating disorder.

During a camp conversation, Skye spoke about her past struggles with eating, spurred by social media comments while under the spotlight.

Skye Wheatley Opens Up About Her Eating Disorder

“I’ve had eating disorders,” she confessed, sharing her experience with bulimia.

“When I was much younger, just the pressure, Instagram, and being in the spotlight. I felt like I had to look a certain way,” she said in the chat. “I’m a really bad binge eater. I used to do it once a week. You’d feel sick about the amount of food I was eating in one sitting.”

She added, “I think it’s my ADHD. With ADHD you are always searching for that quick dopamine hit. Packets of chips, Maltesers, two-minute noodles, blocks of chocolate. Everything within one sitting. I’d finish it all off and then within one hour…”

But she also shared that she’s been able to get a handle on it since learning more about nutrition.

Skye Remains True to Herself in the Jungle

Now, Skye’s been the talk of the town among viewers, mainly because of her no-holds-barred attitude. She straight-up asked former “Studio 10” host Tristan MacManus if he was the “TV love rat” and didn’t shy away from discussing her numerous cosmetic surgeries.

Despite knowing she might catch some flack for her honesty, Skye’s crossing her fingers that people will see she’s coming from a genuine place.

“I do say really dumb s**t and sometimes I don’t find the right vocabulary to express what I’m trying to say and it will come out wrong,” she admitted. “And it’s just like, oh f**k, that’s not what I actually meant. And I’m very impulsive, so I can say things in the moment and then it’d be like, ‘wow, that was not the right thing to say’.”

As Skye Wheatley’s story unfolds amidst the chaos of the jungle, it’s more than just another reality TV moment — it’s a raw, real conversation that hits close to home. Her openness about her struggles with eating disorders isn’t just brave; it’s a reminder that behind the glitz and glam, everyone has battles they’re fighting.

“I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” airs Sunday at 7.00pm and Monday — Thursday at 7.30pm on Channel 10 and 10 Play.
