Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have split.
After more than 10 years together, the Friends star and the Snow Patrol band member have broken up. And the timeline may REALLY surprise you… On Saturday, DailyMail.com reported the pair quietly went their separate ways sometime in late 2025! Whoa! Little details are currently known, but a friend of the exes told the outlet they reached a point in their relationship where they were living “different lives.” But rest assured, they went out on good terms. The insider told the outlet:
“Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship and they remain extremely amicable. They are great friends and care about each other very much. This was not an ugly split. They had simply reached a point where they were living different lives.”
We’re so glad they were able to keep things amicable.

Courteney, 62, and Johnny, 49, met through mutual friends at a party in 2013. And by nine months into their relationship, the pair got engaged… Though they called things off in 2015, before ultimately patching things back up the following year — but with no ring.
In 2024, Courteney opened up about attending couples therapy with the songwriter, where he broke up with her within the first minute. She revealed on the Minnie Questions podcast at the time:
“He just broke up within the first minute, and I was like, ‘What?’ We were engaged. And I was so shocked. I was in so much pain. I also don’t like surprises.”
However, she used the split as an opportunity to work on herself:
“As opposed to going f**k him, you know, getting in this mode of anger. I went in and I did the most work on myself by far. I learned how to claim my voice, boundaries — what were my motives in life — like, what was my part in this? … I’m so thankful for that breakup because when we got back together, it was a different relationship.”
