Fort Worth police have arrested two men in connection to the June 16 shooting death of a 26-year-old man, according to online police records.
Marquette Harmon, 41, and Quinton Robinson, 18, each face murder charges in the death of Byron DaCameron Cherry, according to the records.
Officers responded to the emergency room of John Peter Smith Hospital at about 11:50 p.m. on June 16 after learning that a shooting victim, later identified as Cherry, had been brought in with two gunshot wounds to the upper torso, the Star-Telegram previously reported.
An online obituary described Cherry as someone with “a bright smile that could ignite a room and a laugh so genuine it invited everyone around him to join in joy.“
A police report indicates that the shooting occurred in the 1300 block of East Baltimore Avenue.
Investigators recovered numerous pieces of evidence, including pieces of clothing, fired shell casings, DNA swabs and bullet fragments collected from Cherry’s body, according to the report.
Fort Worth police did not immediately provide copies of affidavits supporting the suspects’ arrests.
The suspects were arrested on Tuesday, according to jail records.
Harmon is being held in the Tarrant County Jail with bond set at over $1 million. He also faces charges of unlawful carrying of a weapon and evading arrest.
Robinson also is being held on more than $1 million bond, and he faces additional charges of engaging in organized criminal activity, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, evading arrest and failure to identify, court records show.
