    A dog was killed after someone fired a gun into a Truckee home last week, according to the police department. Officers are now searching for the suspect. “It’s just heartbreaking. I’ve never dealt with murder, you know, and it’s not a person; it really affects you when one of your family members gets murdered, cold-blooded,” said Kade Krautstrunk.Kade Krautstrunk spoke to KCRA on Wednesday night about the incident. He says he and his family are devastated after their beloved dog, Bandit, was shot and killed.”It’s the hardest thing any of us has ever had to deal with,” he said.Bandit, described as the heart of Krautstrunk’s parents’ household, was shot as the family was preparing to celebrate the dog’s birthday just days before Christmas.”He was kind of the heart of my mom and dad’s household. And was kind of like their staple,” Krautstrunk said. “My parents were hiding the Christmas presents, and like going through all the motions, and sure enough, it’s supposed to be his birthday, days before Christmas.”Officials said the shooting occurred on Dec. 9 along Deerfield Drive, when someone discharged a firearm into the home. Truckee police shared a photo of a man wanted in connection with the incident. He’s described as a Hispanic man appearing to be between the ages of 18 and 20, around 5 feet, 7 inches tall and around 170 pounds with a light complexion, short black hair and a mustache. Truckee police are actively searching for the suspect, releasing a photo of the man seen in the neighborhood on Deerfield Drive multiple times before the shooting. Krautstrunk described the suspect as appearing unashamed and possibly planning to return.”He looks proud. You know, he doesn’t look too ashamed of what he did. And that’s what’s so scary about it. It doesn’t look like he’s not coming back, you know,” Krautstrunk said. The company funds and fast-tracks Israeli startups entering into the US market, according to its LinkedIn page.“He has the pure intention of supporting the startup. He was a very founder-friendly investor,” said Iddo Tal, an entrepreneur based in Palo Alto. Tal shared that Petrushka was one of the first investors of his former company, Invi. “It’s really very amazing to see an entrepreneur — a very successful, a very successful investor – hands-on, mentor you, support you,” Tal said. “ a very humble, great human being.”Tal recalled flying with Petrushka in his airplane over San Francisco, recalling how much he loved to fly and how much fun he was. “It’s a big loss for us in the community in the Silicon Valley,” Tal said. “It’s big shoes to fill up and I hope all of us will just keep supporting the next generation of founders like he did.”The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash. Officials said the single-engine plane crashed on Union Pacific Rail property, south of Glenshire Drive, between the rail line and Truckee River.     (FOX40.COM) — The Truckee Police Department said it is investigating a plane crash that happened on Saturday in Nevada County.

    Police said on Facebook just before 7:15 p.m. the crash happened near the area of Glenshire Drive and Olympic Boulevard.

    “At this time there is no threat to any structures and no road closures,” the Truckee Police Department said.

    The agency added that a heavy presence of emergency responders will be in the area for “an extended period.”

    Golf course communities usually bring to mind places like Palm Springs, California, or Scottsdale, Arizona, where the desert plays a starring role. Gray’s Crossing in California’s Lake Tahoe area trades the desert for the Sierra Nevada mountain range, adding more than just golf to the lifestyle mix.

    The neighborhood is made up of mountain homes in private, woodsy settings with easy access to the outdoors and a downtown area. For example, the home at 11478 Hennessy Road in Truckee, offers views of pine trees and slopes as well as the 10th and 11th greens of the 18-hole golf course designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy.

The house also is close to downtown Truckee, a town of less than 20,000 residents and known as the “gateway to the Sierra Nevadas.”

    Rutherford, an accomplished snowboarder who leads boarding trips around the world, points to popular winter and summer activities available nearby. In winter, residents can ski and snowboard at Northstar and Palisades Tahoe resorts, about 15 minutes away. In summer, there’s hiking and mountain biking on local trails as well as nearby Donner Memorial State Park and kayaking at Prosser Creek Reservoir and Lake Tahoe.

    Who would this home suit? “I personally think the house is designed for full-time family residency,” Rutherford says, noting the home is located in the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. There’s also a private academy nearby.
