It becomes a theater of national identity, where what athletes wear as they process into the stadium carries nearly as much symbolic weight as the medals they hope to bring home. The opening ceremony transforms some 3,000 competitors into walking embodiments of their countries, each delegation dressed by designers tasked with distilling centuries of cultural heritage into garments that must perform under scrutiny from billions of viewers worldwide.

    The results have ranged from the triumphant to the peculiar. Canada’s 1988 Calgary delegation arrived in fringed red trench coats and white cowboy hats, leaning hard into the host city’s Cowtown reputation. Then there’s the eternal question of how much nationalism is too much—how literally a flag should be rendered across a lapel or intarsia knit.

    For Team USA, that question has had a consistent answer since 2008, when Ralph Lauren first partnered with the U.S. Olympic Committee for the Beijing Games. The brand’s preppy aesthetic, with navy blazers, white trousers, newsboy caps and rowing-club sensibilities, has become inextricably linked to American Olympic identity. The process begins roughly two and a half years before each Games, with the design team meeting athletes, researching host cities and building garments intended, as David Lauren puts it, to “become timeless.” 

    Milano Cortina 2026 presents what is perhaps the ultimate test: staging American athletes in one of the world’s undisputed fashion capitals, where sartorial scrutiny reaches its apex. The good news for spectators: many of these official outfitters—Ralph Lauren, Emporio Armani, Le Coq Sportif and others—make civilian versions of their Olympic gear available to the public. What follows is the best of it, from ceremony sweaters to alpine-ready puffers, for anyone who wants to channel the Winter Games from the stands or the sofa.

  • I Tried Kim Kardashian’s Butt-Enhancing Bodysuit and It Delivered

    Every body is different, and I personally have never wished upon a star for a bigger butt. But if there’s anyone who could change that, it would be Kim Kardashian. “With Skims’s new shapewear, you can get a butt, boobs, and amazing curves immediately,” she promises in the “Fairy Butt Mother” campaign, written and directed by Michelle Wolf and Ben Carey, respectively — the same duo behind the video teasing the viral Skims Nipple Push-Up Bra.

    “Whoa, that actually looks real,” my boyfriend exclaimed while pointing at my newly enhanced butt cheeks.

    Being the workout enthusiast that I am, I’ve executed many a squat in my day, and my butt and thighs are usually the reason I have to go up a size in jeans, then struggle with a waist gap. I never thought a fuller, rounder, more lifted booty would do me any good until I tried on the Skims Push-Up Butt Enhancing Padded Mid Thigh Bodysuit ($168) and Skims Butt Enhancing Padded Legging ($138). The leggings are currently sold out, but you can join the waitlist in the meantime. While the pieces didn’t exactly glide on like butter and definitely took some getting used to, they actually made me appear more sculpted — or at least like I have a shape similar to that of Kardashian’s famous derriere. “We love showing how looking and feeling your best should be as simple and easy as putting on Skims,” states Kardashian, Skims’s cofounder and chief creative officer, in the collection’s press release. And even though I didn’t initially feel like butt pads would make me feel my best, the gleefully surprised smile on my face suggests otherwise, doesn’t it?

    What I Like About the Skims Butt-Enhancing Collection

    Let’s be honest, the most likable thing about the Skims butt-enhancing collection is that it works. The difference in my shape (pictured) is obvious. The fabric of the leggings and bodysuit is also just as comfortable, smooth, and “snatching” as any other Skims pieces I’ve tried. The brand’s signature blend of polyamide and elastane has a lifting and contouring feel that’s not at all impacted or lessened by the addition of butt pads.

    What’s more, my enhanced shape was convincing to my partner. “Whoa, that actually looks real,” my boyfriend exclaimed while pointing at my newly enhanced butt cheeks as he emerged from the bedroom to watch me take these comparison shots. I also like that most of the pieces in The Ultimate Butt drop come in every signature neutral shade, as well as the full size range spanning XXS to 4X. After all, the universality of Skims is not something to be limited to any one collection.

    What to Consider Before Buying the Skims Butt-Enhancing Collection

    The actual feel of the butt-enhancing products is worth noting. Because there are sewn-in pads at the rear that add a whole two inches of volume, sitting down or brushing your behind against any given object takes some getting used to. Your newly sculpted bum might appear to be yours, but it actually belongs to the fabric of your clothing. So, there’s that — alas, it is fake. If you like the leggings specifically, you should also note that they only come in Onyx for now and are sadly waitlist-only at time of posting.

    The push-up bodysuit also isn’t the easiest to shimmy into. It took me at least two minutes to secure everything in place, adjusting the straps so that my bust was padded at the right level and each butt pad was also properly situated. In short, it makes for an awkward struggle, so make sure you allow ample time for getting dressed if you plan to wear it underneath your clothes. That being said, your outfit will have to be well-considered to ensure full coverage of the shapewear down to the raw cut leg opening, which could fall a bit too low if you’re trying to pull it off with a minidress. My advice is to also check out the Skims Butt Lifting Open Bust Bodysuit ($80) if you’re seeking a bit less coverage — while this one still has thin shoulder straps, it can be worn with any bra of your choosing. As for the legs, you may have to do some careful cutting to make the bodysuit or shorts work with micro hemlines.

    Review: I honestly despise tequila. It will never be my drink of choice…but when it’s the only option, sometimes you cut your losses. When 818 Tequila first started, everyone was drinking it. And somehow, I ended up with a bottle myself.

    If you’re going to spend this much on skincare, go to the dermatologist and get a clinically curated routine for your skin. I wish I could attest to the life-changing benefits of
    SKKN, but I haven’t heard anyone say much about it.

    Best Products: Cannot afford to even find out.

    Every four years, the Summer Olympics are a canon event for millions of people across the globe. The best-of-the-best athletes are transported to some major city (this year, Paris) where they compete to be crowned the best athletes in the world.


    And, yes, there are a million different aspects of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics that we could discuss. This year, the internet has meme’d every single competitor from “Mr. Pommel Horse” Stephen Nedoroscik, the women’s artistic gymnastic team headed by Simone Biles, and, of course, French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati.

    All eyes are on the Olympians as we head into the final week of competitions before the closing ceremonies on August 11…and while we celebrate them for their elite athletic abilities, I want to chat about something else they excel in: fashion.

    Yes, some of your favorite Olympians are gold medalists not only in their sport, but also in dressing well.

    Because the Olympics are splashed across the world stage for several weeks every other year, we all get to know the athletes pretty well. Some are returning fan-favorites (Katie Ledecky, Biles, Noah Lyles), and there are newfound competitors who’ve stolen our hearts.

    And while the world appreciates the gymnastics leotards or the Opening Ceremonies costumes, I like to look at the athletes who show their style in other ways. Take Noah Lyles and his painted nails, for example, which have of course been a topic of controversy.

    If you’re watching these athletes compete, chances are you’re catching bits of their personality regardless. And I’m sure you’re looking them up on social media hungry to learn everything you can about them.

    I’m no different than you. I’m constantly searching social media while watching these Olympians medal. I need to know their life story…Which is how I’ve found some of the most stylish Olympians competing this year. Here are my findings:

    Suni Lee

    Suni Lee has quite the story: overcoming two rare kidney disease diagnoses and battling her way back up to Olympic caliber. Not only is she an Olympic medalist this year, but she’s also a bit of a fashion icon herself.

    Suni was the face of the Team USA Olympic SKIMS campaign, and often isn’t shown without iconic lash extensions and flawless makeup. You catch a flavor of Suni’s inimitable style in everything she wears and not just from hair and makeup alone.

    Simone Biles

    Simone’s got swag, to put it bluntly. With a bejeweled rhinestone travel bag announcing “Simone Biles Owens” next to the Olympic rings, gems nestled into her canine teeth, and a diamond goat chain, she lets her personality shine despite having to wear a conforming uniform.

    Biles Owens is insanely talented, with multiple gymnastic moves attributed to her, but I love how she shows her flashy style and wears it with confidence. Such a Biles move.

    Noah Lyles

    World champion sprint runner, Noah Lyles, is no stranger to winning. Following his
    Olympic Gold in the 100-metre dash – which he won by 5-thousandths of a second! – his Olympic-themed nails were a hot topic of conversation.

    He won the Olympics this year wearing an ornate choker and multiple bracelets. But off the track, his style is getting pinned straight to our Pinterest boards.

    Sha’Carri Richardson

    Sha’Carri is famous for being one of the fastest women in the world, but something that also sets her apart is her style. Often running with her hair down, lash extensions, and always-intact acrylic nails, Sha’Carri’s not too shy to show a little bling.

    Richardson constantly shows she’s got flair and attitude through her fiery hair and even more fiery antics.

    Coco Gauff

    The face of
    New Balance and brands like Ray Ban, Coco Gauff radiates effortless style. Tennis-core is a big trend right now, but for Coco, it’s just her uniform. She has her own New Balance line, of course, and was decked out in the brand for her Olympic debut.

    What Gauff does best is simplicity. She chooses her accessories deliberately: like wearing two matching wrist sweatbands when competing.

    KeyBank sued over derailed $122M deal for Skims-leased Hollywood offices

    Kingsbarn Realty Capital has sued its lender over a derailed $121.8 million acquisition of a Hollywood office property that’s leased to Kim Kardashian’s Skims clothing brand, The Real Deal has learned.  

    Las Vegas-based Kingsbarn, through an entity called KB Acquisitions, went into contract to buy 1601 Vine Street in December 2022, court documents show. The property is a 116,000-square-foot building that sits between Sunset and Hollywood Boulevard. Skims signed a lease for the entire office portion of the property — spanning floors two to eight — in July last year. City National Bank occupies the ground floor retail space.  

    In a complaint filed in a Los Angeles County court on Tuesday, Kingsbarn claimed its lender, Cleveland-based KeyBank, “pulled the rug out from underneath the transaction” by reducing the financing package at the last minute. KeyBank, which Kingsbarn described as its “long-term lender,” provided a $72 million senior loan and gave a “verbal indication” that it would also provide a $25 million preferred equity bridge loan. 

    According to the complaint, Kingsbarn and KeyBank have done a lot of business together over the past decade. Since 2015, the two have supposedly figured in 16 senior debt loan deals totaling $342.4 million. On preferred equity loans, the firms have closed seven deals totaling $77.8 million since 2019, according to the filing. 

    Kingsbarn claims that it went into escrow on the Hollywood deal under the assumption that KeyBank would do “what it had done many times in the past.” 

    This time it turned out differently. 

    On March 17 last year, the closing date for the deal, KeyBank supposedly told Kingsbarn that it was changing the terms of the financing package. On March 22, the end of the extension of the closing date, KeyBank “verbally floated” that it would reduce the senior loan from $71 million to $65 million and cut the preferred equity loan altogether. 

    According to the complaint, KeyBank eventually offered a promissory note for a $50 million loan and floated a preferred equity loan with “terms and conditions so onerous that (KeyBank) knew would not be acceptable.”

    The deal fell apart, leaving Kingsbarn with $12.9 million in lost deposits and projected profits, according to the complaint. The firm claimed that finding alternative financing was difficult because the Measure ULA transfer tax was set to take effect a few days later on April 1. 

    The seller in the deal, J.H. Snyder, is not included in the lawsuit. In June last year, the firm sold a 51 percent stake in the asset to Oscar Properties. The deal pegged the value of 1601 Vine at $72.5 million.    

    The property previously housed WeWork’s only Hollywood location. WeWork, which exited bankruptcy in May, shut down the location in October 2022.  

    Kingsbarn is seeking at least $13 million in damages. Defendant KeyBank declined to comment.

    I should preface the rest of this review by explaining that I’m not a bra person. I have a small bust (30B/32A) and I tend to let my chest breathe most of the time, or employ boob tape and covers when necessary (i.e. when my shirt is see-through). For that reason, wearing a padded push-up bra equipped with built-in raised nipples was a full-blown experience for me. I chose a fitted white T-shirt to achieve optimal effect of this innovative look, styling it with a slip skirt and white sneakers to keep my outfit minimal.

The nipples are also easy to discern under clothing (yes, even if you’re wearing black or dark tops). Fit-wise, the bra runs true to size.     Is the Skims Nipple Push-Up Bra Comfortable?

    As I’ve mentioned, I’m most comfortable going braless. But I would compare the comfortability of the Skims Nipple Bra to any other push-up bra I’ve worn in the past (my other go-to for years has been the Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Bombshell). That being said, it’s important to note that in order for the nipples to appear prominent through layers, the foam pads in each cup must be highly structured, so you’re going to feel less of a forgiving cushion and more of a thick and firm filling. Skims also recommends going up a band size if you’re worried about digging or pinching at the sides — and while I didn’t experience either, I would describe the fit in this area to be “extra-snug,” which is a smidge above “snug” but not quite “tight” in my book.

    Does the Skims Nipple Push-Up Bra Look Natural?

    This is where opinions become particularly subjective. Let’s start with my personal stance: when I look at myself in the mirror while wearing the Skims Nipple Bra, I do not feel like my bust looks natural. As a braless advocate, my nipples have gotten hard before where I’ve been able to make them out through my shirt, and my own pair aren’t nearly as perky as the Kardashian set. That being said, from afar, I do think the bra provides a realistic illusion. While going about my day, I believe I witnessed a handful of prolonged stares at my chest, but then again, I am one paranoid individual. If these viewers were scoping out the area, I’m inclined to think they were more curious about the bra itself while equally aware that I was not experiencing a chill on a sweltering hot, 85-degree day while sipping my Aperol spritz.

    While going about my day, I believe I witnessed a handful of prolonged stares at my chest, but then again, I am one paranoid individual.

    My boyfriend’s take? After spending a full 24-hours with me, myself, and Kardashian’s nipples, he declared: “The nipples are not round enough and they seem to be misplaced.” (We tried to fix this by adjusting the straps, but he ultimately felt like the placement of the nipples was not proportional to the would-be cleavage area on my shirt.) “Also, no two nipples are alike, just like no two fingerprints are alike,” he continued, “So the fact that both nipples look the same raises alarms as to the authenticity of the bra.” Given his career in tech and his interest in the development of products, he also suggested that he would like to see some sort of dynamic model, where the nipples can be adjusted to both hard and soft settings to mimic the natural body.

    All of this being said, if the lifelike quality of the bra is preventing you from purchasing it, Kardashian did tease that the brand is working on a “softer” version during her “Kimmel” appearance.

    What to Consider Before Buying the Skims Nipple Push-Up Bra

    When it was announced that Kim Kardashian would star alongside Emma Roberts in Ryan Murphy’s
    American Horror Story: Delicate, the world was a bit confused. That Kim K? Reality TV star turned influencer and fashion mogul, who became famous not for her talent but for her incessant dramaon a RYAN MURPHY SHOW?

    But I kept my worries to myself, unlike the entire internet that was ripping her apart
    before we saw her acting debut. Anyways. I tuned in week after week to watch Murphy’s Rosemary’s Baby-inspired show…and you know what? Kim is not the worst part about it.

    I told you earlier that Kim is a hustler…but maybe you don’t believe me. Let’s look at the facts: whether you’re a Taylor Swift-supporter who vehemently despises the Kardashians or not, Kim has a similar work ethic to Taylor Swift — they do not stop, darlin.

    Kim currently has two brands: SKKN, her skincare and beauty line, and Skims, the leading shapewear and loungewear brand in the industry. As previously mentioned, she stars on The Kardashians alongside her mother and sisters: Kris, Kylie, Kendall, Kourtney, and Khloe.

    Then there’s her stint in the fashion industry — an ambassador for controversial brand Balenciaga, constantly seen front row at Fashion Week sitting next to
    Vogue Editor-in-Chief, the highly-regarded and highly-feared Anna Wintour.

    And there’s no doubt that we’re dealing with one of the most
    criticized families in America. They’re the closest thing we’ve got to our own Royal Family, and thousands flock to social media to denounce their promotion of tatty products and unrealistic body expectations.

    It shouldn’t surprise anyone when Kim Kardashian dips her toe into a new profession. She’s already checked reality TV star, lawyer, entrepreneur, mother, and model off her list…why is acting so shocking?

    So here we are, in the “acceptance” phase of grief. Kim Kardashian will be starring in Ryan Murphy’s show (again) so you may as well get to know the plot. The show, which is currently untitled, will follow Kim as Los Angeles’ most successful divorce lawyer leading an all-female team.

    While the role seems perfect for Kardashian — her father was a famous superpower litigant and she’s in law school herself…Murphy has been drawing together something of a dream-team cast to support her. That includes a glam bevy of A-list actresses who will be Kim’s team of lawyers. And….there’s even a love interest.

    And I’m sure we’re all thinking the same thing:
    but she can’t really act, can she? No. But neither can most nepo babies out there…and yet, we let them.

    We’re living in a culture where the contrarian point of view is all that claims our attention. Being a hater is cool. And yet, I find myself empathizing with the Kar-Jenner clan. Wouldn’t you also grasp at straws to continue your legacy of influence and riches?

    If you truly look deep inside, you may realize that we’d do it too if it meant a big fat paycheck…we simple folk simply don’t get those opportunities.

    For a while there, it seemed as though there was nothing Lana Del Rey could do right. It started at the beginning of her career, and then briefly tapered off during her Lust for Life through Norman Fucking Rockwell era. It was during the critical darling phase of Norman Fucking Rockwell, however, that things started to take a turn back toward 2011-2012 territory. And ultimately, all at Del Rey’s own hand. Or rather, social media outbursts. It began with her vitriolic reaction to Ann Powers giving her a positive review on NPR for NFR. The problem? Powers had the audacity to declare that Del Rey had a persona early on in her career: the Daddy-loving coquette queen being chief among them. Del Rey then clapped back, “To write about me is nothing like it is to be with me. Never had a persona. Never needed one. Never will. So don’t call yourself a fan like you did in the article and don’t count your editor one either—I may never have made bold political or cultural statements before—because my gift is the warmth I live my life with and the self-reflection I share generously.” Pretentious and ego-driven much?

    Almost as if to further insist—therefore, defy Powers’ assessment—that her Daddy-loving coquette queen persona has always been real, Del Rey opted to fall right back into it for her first ad campaign since the 2019 one she did for Gucci, also co-starring Jared Leto. The campaign was in promotion of the Gucci Guilty fragrance, though, as usual, the goings-on of the pictorial “narrative” seemed to have little to do with scent. Unless one counts being at the laundromat…there’s plenty of odors there. 

    At the very least, the campaign for Skims is able to be less abstract about what it’s promoting. Not just Kim Kardashian herself, but the Valentine’s Day “drops” she wants to sell out for the month of “love” (i.e., buying something for someone proving how much you love them because capitalism). On January 18th, the big announcement was made that Del Rey would be Skims’ “Valentine” a.k.a. their February shill. A key piece to moving this kind of product in an increasingly less romantic world. Indeed, it’s already been reported by Women’s Wear Daily that Del Rey “amassed $13.7 million in media impact value [for the brand] within four days, with Del Rey’s own Instagram post earning Skims more than $4 million.” This allure of Del Rey (particularly, for whatever reason, among the Gen Z crowd trying to lay claim to her the way they have with Mean Girls) has entirely superseded her brief bout with “cancellation” in 2020, after posting her infamous “question for the culture” and receiving backlash for her specific callout of women of color in it. Comparing her “struggle” to their so-called lack thereof.

    As if that weren’t bad enough, Del Rey then made matters worse for herself by soon after posting a video of people looting during the George Floyd protests in L.A., prompting Kehlani (one of the singers name-checked in her “question for the culture”) to tweet directly at Del Rey, “Please remove your Instagram post it’s dangerous as fuck and a very poor choice of moments to post. By all means protest, but DO NOT endanger people with your very massive platform. Oh and turn your fuckin comments on man.” Tinashe also weighed in on Del Rey’s recklessness for the sake of a social media post clearly meant to prove she was “down” two weeks after being accused of those racist undertones in her public missive. In slightly less gentle words, Tinashe tweeted, “Why the fuck are you posting people looting stores on your page literally WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM.”

    As though not wanting to let the haunting comments of 2020 persist in 2021, Del Rey overcorrected by posting a picture of her then-new album cover for Chemtrails Over the Country Club at the beginning of 2021, foolishly commenting, “In 11 years working, I have always been extremely inclusive without even trying to. My best friends are rappers my boyfriends have been rappers. My dearest friends have been from all over the place, so before you make comments again about a WOC/POC issue, I’m not the one storming the capital, I’m literally changing the world by putting my life and thoughts and love out there on the table 24 seven.” Funnily enough, most of that extremely narcissistic statement sounds as though it could have come straight out of Kim Kardashian’s mouth. A woman, evidently, that LDR has “loved” for quite some time. Even before singing at one of her wedding festivities back in 2014 (a “gift,” incidentally, given to Kardashian by Kanye West…before Del Rey decided to write a damning lyric about him that goes, “Kanye West is blonde and gone”). Del Rey was, indeed, only too eager to tell Vogue, “I love Kim, and I love her family. Me and my sister are huge fans of them, and have been watching them forever.” That right there should be a major red flag to anyone who has insisted that Del Rey is some beneficent, selfless soul. For anyone who can see the Kardashians as something other than the very embodiment of the decay of America that Del Rey is meant to be “ironically” speaking on in her songs is not to be trusted. 

    And yet, now that Del Rey has reemerged from the other side of 2019-2021 unscathed and more revered than ever (how rapidly the public can forget back-to-back controversies), it appears as though she’s comfortable ruffling feathers again. Specifically, the feathers of those who would take issue with advocating for a brand (and the person associated with it) like Skims. That aside, Del Rey’s decision to align with the “body positive” juggernaut doesn’t feel like a coincidence. Almost as though she’s leaning entirely into her chili cookout and Waffle House era. Plus, despite any perceptions to the contrary (and also urging, “If you want some basic bitch/Go to the Beverly Center and find her”), Del Rey has always been, at her core, a basic bitch (cue the droning lyrics, “Put his favorite perfume on/Go play your video game” or “Blue jeans, white shirt”). She copped to it herself in a 2019 interview with Billboard as well.

    Thus, it was no surprise that when Vogue asked her, “What do you love about the pieces that Kim and Skims are making?” Del Rey replied, “Well, first of all, I just love how well it’s doing for her [insert gag noises here]. And second of all, I do wear basics on most days; I like wearing the little rompers, or onesies with a big t-shirt. I’m always curious to see what they’re going to do; it’s an ever-evolving brand. It started as kind of a niche brand [like Del Rey herself], and I feel like it’s grown into a thing where now my sister and my best friend Margaret [Jack Antonoff’s wife, one presumes?] are wearing it. All of a sudden you’re like, ‘Oh, you’re wearing Skims too,’ and you show up in the same outfit as you’re getting a coffee. It’s really kind of sweet.” If by “sweet” (also the name of one of her songs on Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd) what she means is: absolutely atrocious. For there is nothing more terrible, generic fashion-wise, than a world of women outfitted in Skims. 

    Except maybe a world of women outfitted in H&M. Which brings us back to 2012. Better known as the year Del Rey felt most comfortable being a shill. After all, everyone is obliged to be when they’re first starting out (even Madonna was no stranger to an early onslaught of ads, including ones for Mitsubishi and, of course, Pepsi). It helps not only get a still-unknown face “out there” for more audiences to see and “connect with” (if a “connection” can really be forged by wanting to look like someone who represents a false ideal), but it also helps secure one’s bag right from the get-go in case the fame game doesn’t endure. So secure it Del Rey did. Not just stopping at her H&M campaign (for which she sang a cover of “Blue Velvet” in a Lynchian-inspired commercial), but also continuing to lend her name for Jaguar’s F-Type that same year. “Burning Desire” was the song tailor-made for the accompanying commercial (which doesn’t look that dissimilar to the one for H&M, in terms of LDR standing on a red-curtained stage alone with a microphone looking “old-timey”).

    And so, here it bears noting that, when it comes to what she’ll shill, Del Rey has little discernment in how the products she touts affect the environment she claims to so love and care about (particularly on Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass’ “Paradise Is Very Fragile”). What with fast fashion and fossil fuel emissions being at the heart (no Valentine’s Day pun intended) of environmental fallout. Any such love was also tossed aside when she opted to wear that Shein dress that everyone immediately flocked to buy (because, whether it was Shein or not, it was still fast fashion-y enough to find a knockoff on Shein that quickly sold out afterward—call it the Del Rey advertisement effect). 

    Her latest advertising foray for Skims only adds to the damning proof of that. For it’s not exactly under the radar anymore that Skims’—an “American” company—production and manufacturing occur mainly in China and Turkey, where labor laws don’t exactly live up to the Skims promise that workers will be “ensured fair wages, safe environments and healthy working conditions.” What’s more, the company is just as (Gucci) guilty of greenwashing as the aforementioned H&M, insisting that its packaging is free of non-recyclable materials, as well as plastic. A closer look at the fine print indicates that’s bullshit. And sounds almost as fantastical as a world where the U.S. nominates a (non-conservative) woman for president. Though, at the rate that Kardashian’s clout has increased even more since ditching Ye (even though, at the outset of their relationship, he was responsible for increasing rather than detracting from that clout), she might have a far more successful run for the presidency than her ex-husband ever did. And it would probably be endorsed by Del Rey while wearing the Velvet Lace Teddy in Periwinkle Multi.

    Doing her part to help obfuscate the problematic nature of Skims and its fast fashion manufacturing processes, Del Rey’s “innocent” coquette air is played up by photography from Nadia Lee Cohen (half Israeli at a time when no one in the media wants to talk frankly about Israeli-Palestinian “relations”). No stranger to photographing Del Rey after the March 2023 issue of Interview…not to mention doing the photoshoot for Kim’s Interview cover for September 2022. Lending her by now signature tinge of 60s aesthetic style to the Skims x Lana shoot, the audience is ultimately enraptured by the photos themselves, rather than the products they’re meant to represent. And yes, it’s a lovely set of photos, in and of themselves. Begging the question: why does it also have to be about selling something? Why does Del Rey, a self-declared “simple” singer-songwriter feel obliged to peddle these wares at this late stage in her fame game anyway, when money has never been less relevant to or needed for her artistic pursuits?

    When
    Barbie premiered in July, women felt seen in the cinema — perhaps for the first time in a long time. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie was more than a beginner’s feminist manifesto, but also a meditation on what it means to be both a woman and mother in today’s world. It was a gentle reminder that maybe we’re all just trying our best — and that our best is enough.

    It also encouraged women celebrate each other more.
    The Barbie effect had us all wearing pink, emulating Margot Robbie’s cowboy-chic style, and referring to men as our “Kens.” And with help from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, her friendship bracelets, and sense of community, women were winning. It’s the first year in history that women dominated the Billboard Hot 100 twice (thanks to Swift and her Midnights and 1989 (Taylor’s Version) album). Like I said, it’s a good year to be a woman.

    People’s Sexiest Man Alive (deserved), Taylor Swift is the world leader (they literally projected her welcome onto Christ the Redeemer), and Austin Butler is Best Elvis (because somehow we have multiple).

    And one of the buzziest celeb awards is run by
    GQ (short for Gentlemen’s Quarterly), whose “Men Of The Year” award is a highlight of every fall/winter. Similar to TIME’s 100 list, GQ likes to celebrate those who have taken the world by storm annually.

    This year, the recipient of the Man of the Year award is none other than
    Kim Kardashian…and they’re not wrong.

    Kim has been taking her empire to new heights in 2023: building on the 2022 launch of her
    SKKN-care line, breaking ground with Skims’ Men’s campaign, the Nipple Bra, and becoming the official partner of the NBA/WNBA, working on prison reform, filming The Kardashians on Hulu, starring alongside Emma Roberts in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story as Siobhan Corbyn, I could go on.

    Calling someone “the man” has now become synonymous with “a winner.” Saying “you’re the man” is a sign of their success. And though this might have problematic roots, women are reclaiming the term — like the Taylor Swift song.
    And in the grand scheme of things: Kim Kardashian is the man.

    Some hard working men get the title alongside Kim in the
    GQ issue. The other MOTY honorees include Jacob Elordi (AKA Elvis #2, who’s starring in blockbusters like Sofia Coppolla’s Priscilla and Saltburn alongside Barry Keoghan), Buffalo Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin, designer-turned-filmmaker Tom Ford, and Travis Scott. But you have to admit that Kim hasn’t come up for air this year.

    It’s right there for us to see in episodes of
    The Kardashians: Kim flying from country to country for another event on her booked and busy schedule. She’s literally everywhere at once, officiating recently divorced Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage’s wedding, shooting countless magazine covers and promo shoots for her growing enterprise, opening a Skims popup here, and shooting an episode of AHS there.

    The Men of the Year Awards 2023 were held on November 15 at London’s Royal Opera House where cover stars like Jeremy Allen White, boygenius, and Kardashian were in attendance.

    Other female recipients included Megan Thee Stallion and Rihanna, who have paved their own paths in both the music and fashion industry. Rihanna with her Savage x Fenty inclusive lingerie line and Fenty Beauty has been changing the makeup and underwear game for a while now. Megan Thee Stallion is coming off a high-profile trial that she won against Tory Lanez, under immense public scrutiny, has become a figure for mental health and domestic violence while still creating hit records.

    It’s one of the most female-dominated
    GQ events we’ve seen, which is a pattern. The GRAMMY Award nominations just rolled out with so many female artists nominated, you’d think it’s a record. In the top three categories, female acts make up seven out of eight nominees.

    This year, women are the man. It’s an exciting, uplifting time where we get to celebrate with each other instead of tearing one another down. Kim K is just another example of the
    Barbie effect.

    This winter, brands are leaning into the classic look that romanticizes all things holiday. With elements like leather details and fur cuffing, staying true to the iconic Jacquemus structure and style that we know and love, and rich holiday colors, this is my favorite holiday line this year.

    Think sparkles, satins, wool, and the best sweater set you could ever dream of. This collection screams holiday elegance- featuring pieces in classic reds, greens, and silvers. They even have iconic bag styles like Bambino and Chiquito reimagined for the gifting season.

    There’s something for everyone in this collection- from simplistic t-shirts with an open back to a dramatic
    shearling long coat valued at a mere $7,500. Which is why I will see this coat in only my dreams.

    With a surprisingly affordable price range of $48-$198 and sizing from XXS-4X, I’m pleased that Kylie is giving the people what they want. It’s both affordable and fashionable — plus no animals were harmed in the creation of this jacket.

    We saw Kylie celebrating the launch of Khy alongside sister Kendall Jenner and fellow friend and fashion icon, Hailey Bieber. Then, not long after, Kylie celebrated with a Khy birthday party.

    For a devout member of the fashion community, Kylie Jenner has the opportunity to reach Skims-level of success, if she does it right. And honestly, I’m kind of living for the first drop?

    After a buzzy foray into menswear earlier this week, Skims has already announced its next product: a nipple bra. What exactly is that, you may ask? According to Kim Kardashian, who gracefully modeled the new innovation while debuting the product on Oct. 27, it’s a regular push-up bra with built-in, faux nipples.

    Upon discovery, the internet was in disbelief. Despite inquiries around whether this was a delayed April Fools’ joke, turns out, it’s actually a pretty genius way to market Skims’s investment in advancing carbon removal. The company also announced it would donate 10 percent of the bra’s sales to 1% For the Planet, an organization dedicated to addressing the global environmental crisis. Earlier this year, Skims also announced its participation in Watershed’s Frontier market initiative, a long-term climate-change commitment to accelerate permanent carbon removal.

And unlike the icebergs, these aren’t going anywhere,” Kardashian says, wearing the upcoming launch under a seamless bodysuit and, later, a tee, presumably also from Skims. Launching on Oct. 31, the Ultimate Nipple Bra promises a “perfect fullness” and, of course, the fake nipples. While this iteration might seem bizarre, there’s certainly an existing market for the new bra. Nipples can be your best accessory, according to the many celebrities we’ve seen in completely sheer dresses, see-through swimsuits, and wild variations of the naked trend. In fact, Kardashian has demonstrated that in her own style choices on numerous occasions. Why not draw even more attention to the nipples with a full-coverage, push-up bra?

    As Kardashian so aptly declares, she’s not a scientist, but she does “believe everyone can use their skillset to do their part.” So she’s using her wildly popular undergarment brand — and entrepreneurial mindset — to do her part in saving the planet.

Its just-released fourth collection focuses more on traditional ceremony looks, “but essentially, we wanted a collection that offered pieces for every bride.”
