  • Everything in One Box: Micro Presents Its First Rocking Scooter – the Micro Mini Rock & Go LED

The new Mini Rock & Go LED is Micro’s first rocking scooter – combining rocking and scooting in a clever all-in-one product. The modular 6-in-1 system grows with children and accompanies them from ages 1 to 6+ – all without tools.

The highlight: Everything comes in one box – from a gentle rocking toy for indoor play, to a parent-assisted ride-on, and finally the classic Micro Mini LED kick scooter. With just a few simple steps (and no tools required), all six variations can be assembled. A family-friendly bonus: two product versions can be used simultaneously – one child can rock while the other scoots.

The smart design of the Micro Mini Rock & Go LED impresses not only with functionality, but also with thoughtful details:

    • Unique configuration – first rocking scooter of its kind

    • 6-in-1 system – suitable from ages 1 to 6+

    • All-in-one box including sibling option – while one child rocks, the other scoots

    • LED wheels for visibility and extra fun

    • Tool-free transformation in seconds

    • Safe & stable – ergonomic height-adjustable seat, anti-slip surfaces and a tip-resistant rocking base

The Rock & Go LED is an innovative toy that will become one of your child’s longest-lasting companions, growing with them for years and offering real value. “It is not just an innovative toy, but a long-lasting companion that grows with the child, can be used for years and conserves resources. A product that brings joy to families – while also contributing to greater sustainability,” says Wim Ouboter, founder and CEO of Micro, Switzerland.

The Mini Micro Deluxe Rock & Go LED is available worldwide in four trendy colors: Dusty Rose, Lavender Mist, Ocean Slate, and Olive Sage. Even ahead of the official market launch, the product has been attracting attention: nominated as a “Top 10 Toy 2025” and honored with a Special Mention at the international Focus Open design award – a double seal of approval for innovation and design quality.

Swiss scooter pioneer Micro will be debuting this innovative new toy and scooter for children as young as one year old at the LA Toy Preview inside The Toy Association’s new “Toy Building” in El Segundo, from September 8-19, 2025.

  • Micro Kickboard Wins ‘Best Kids Scooter’ for 2023

Micro Kickboard Wins ‘Best Kids Scooter’ for 2023

Micro Kickboard is thrilled to announce that its Micro Maxi Deluxe Scooter, designed for ages 5 to 12, was named The Best Kids Scooter by Wirecutter again for 2023, tested against a line-up of many other scooters and brands.

Wirecutter is the product recommendation service from The New York Times, known for its rigorous testing and reporting. The scooters were ridden and tested by kids ages 1 to 10, and Journalist Katherine Gammon, together with Wirecutter‘s panel of expert reviewers, conducted extensive research, speaking to parents, kids and doctors, before selecting the Maxi. Wirecutter praises the Maxi’s overall quality, smooth ride, large age range, size, scooter stability, long-lasting durability, and ease of getting replaceable parts.

Wirecutter also named the Micro Mini Deluxe (for ages 2 to 5) their Toddler Pick because it shares the Maxi’s qualities but is designed for a younger age of rider.

The Wirecutter summed up their pick for Best Kids Scooter as follows: “The Micro Maxi Deluxe provides the smoothest, quietest ride of any scooter we tested. Plus, it has the greatest ability to grow with a child, with the stability to help small kids gain confidence, and the skills and agility to keep older ones zipping along joyfully for many years.”

Micro Kickboard Owner Julie Hawksworth said, “We are especially thrilled because we have a lot of respect for the Wirecutter‘s reviews; their research is exceptionally thorough and detailed, and we particularly love that the scooters are tested and judged by children, in addition to the Wirecutter experts. They wrote a 6,000-word review and in the process told the story of the Maxi so well – we are grateful for their work and this award.”

Micro Kickboard sells at Toy, Bike, Sports, and Boutique stores across the US, in addition to CAMP Stores, FAO Schwarz, Scheels, Saks 5th Avenue, Target, and more. You can also shop online at Amazon.com and MicroKickboard.com where Micro is currently conducting a Spring Sale at 20% off select items, through April 2, 2023.

Wirecutter also recommends the Maxi’s newer models:

  • Kids’ Scooters Made From Recycled Fishing Nets

Kids’ Scooters Made From Recycled Fishing Nets

The Swiss scooter pioneer Micro Mobility Systems is launching a sustainable children’s scooter line that uses recycled ocean plastic. The new Micro ECO kids’ scooters will be available in over 80 countries from January 2021.

    Press Release

    updated: Oct 14, 2020

Around 10 percent of the plastic waste in the oceans comes from fishing. Every year, an estimated 640,000 tons of nets, ropes, and other equipment are left behind in the oceans. The new ECO kids’ scooters from Micro Mobility Systems are made from part of this waste, which is collected in landfills and then recycled.

The new ECO range consists of two different models, the Mini Micro Deluxe ECO for children from 2 to 5 years and the Maxi Micro Deluxe ECO for children from 5 years and older.

These are based on the popular Mini & Maxi Micro Deluxe models, which have already been sold millions of times worldwide and have won several awards. The patented weight-shifting steering system promotes balance and motor skills, the handlebar can be optimally adjusted to the size of the kids, and the non-slip silicone footboard provides support and safety during the ride.

The materials used for the Micro ECO kids’ scooters are not so-called “ghost nets” or “ocean plastic” fished from the sea, but rather discarded and obsolete fishing gear, ropes, trawl nets, etc., that have been used for fishing worldwide and would have landed in the sea if they had not been disposed of in the appropriate dumps. The ocean plastic problem will be tackled at its root through preventive measures and a circular economy, offering fishermen the opportunity to recycle their old nets and give them a second life.

“The ECO product line is another step towards sustainability for Micro. Not only have we been selling products for more than 20 years, which can be passed on through generations due to their longevity, but we have also set ourselves ambitious sustainability goals, which we will successively expand,” says Micro founder and CEO Wim Ouboter.

The use of “green plastic” means a reduction of not only marine pollution and the loss of valuable resources but also of the ecological footprint by up to 82% CO2 emissions compared to new plastic.
