Several people were handcuffed Tuesday after dispatch calls indicate a shooting between two cars, a Mercedes and a Tesla, ended with a SWAT team possibly converging to the scene.

Around 4 p.m., Plantation Police officers responded to reports of the Mercedes and a Tesla shooting at each other, according to emergency dispatch communications on Broadcastify, a live audio broadcasting service.

The cars stopped in front of a possible vacation rental home at the 12000 block of Northwest 6th Street. There, officers encountered a large group of people.

A police drone and a SWAT BearCat, an armored tactical vehicle, were requested and responded to the home, according to radio traffic.

Not long after, responding officers requested several patrol cars to transport numerous detained people to the jail or the police department. It’s not clear how many were placed in handcuffs.

Around 5:40 p.m., the Plantation Police Department posted on X that multiple people were detained after reports of shots being fired.

There were no injuries reported as of Tuesday evening.
