THEY SAY AGE IS JUST A NUMBER, AND AT 86 YEARS YOUNG, DOROTHY WASSER OF PALM BEACH GARDENS FEELS GREAT ON THE COURT. MOST PEOPLE THINK I’M AMAZING, BUT THERE ARE SO MANY OF US THAT ARE THAT ARE STILL DOING IT ONLY BECAUSE WE’VE DONE IT SO LONG, SO WE’RE JUST STAYING IN SHAPE. WAS IT A 85? THE NEW 75? BUT THOSE PLAYERS ARE A MUCH STRONGER THAN AT THAT AGE THAN WE EVER WERE. NOT ONLY IS DOROTHY IN SHAPE, BUT SHE ROUTINELY PLAYS GOLF AND PICKLEBALL AND RECENTLY CAME HOME FROM TURKEY WITH YET ANOTHER GOLD MEDAL IN TENNIS AS CAPTAIN OF TEAM USA IN THE 85 AND OVER WORLD TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP. AND WE KNOW WE WANT TO BRING BACK THE GOLD AND WE ALL CONSIDER IT AN HONOR. REALLY, THAT THE USTA SENDS US THERE. DOROTHY HAS LOST TRACK OF THE NUMBER OF MEDALS SHE’S WON. SHE THINKS MORE THAN A DOZEN GOLDS. THE GRANDMOTHER OF SEVEN AND NOW GREAT GRANDMOTHER BEGAN PLAYING PADDLE TENNIS IN THE 1960S IN BROOKLYN. SOON TENNIS TOURNAMENTS FOLLOWED, LIVING ON LONG ISLAND. AND AT 86 YEARS OLD, DOROTHY HAS BEEN ABLE TO AVOID ANY MAJOR INJURIES THAT WOULD DERAIL HER TENNIS CAREER. SHE SAID SHE HAS REALLY GOOD GENES AND AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, HAS CREATED A LITTLE BIT OF FAME HERE AT BALLENISLES COUNTRY CLUB. AS SOON AS THEY SEE ME, THEY KNOW THE RESULTS OF THIS TURKEY TOURNAMENT. THEY’RE ALL CONGRATULATE ME. THEY’RE JUST THE NICEST GROUP OF PEOPLE. HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP DOING THIS? OH, AS LONG AS WE CAN. WE ALL SAY THE SAME THING. WE’RE DOING THIS BECAUSE WE CAN IN PALM BEACH GARDEN

July’s The Singles Scene Column© by Kelly Leary Reveals How to Crush That First Date

    Press Release

    Jul 18, 2022

Kelly Leary of Revolution Dating in Palm Beach Gardens shares valuable advice – especially for first dates – in the July edition of The Singles Scene Column©.

    1. Make that date right away! Once made, be on time. Don’t cancel or reschedule. Don’t start the date with an apology.

    2. Appearance is important. Dress to impress – for the first date it’s far better to be overdressed than underdressed. Put the best foot forward.

    3. Practice Kindness. A negative attitude is a turnoff. Practice kindness in life, love, work, and play, single or not.

    4. Play It Cool. Don’t go overboard on the compliments. It’s hard to be attracted to a person who is overcompensating. It might be considered flattering but then come across as too pushy.

    5. While on the date, no texting. No exceptions. Leave the phone in the car.

    6. Be real and authentic. No wacky ties, no ‘over the top’ jewelry or makeup or dirty jokes. Be polite to those around and speak highly on life whenever possible, especially on a first date. Don’t take over the conversation. There will be much more time to share one’s story later.

    7. Ask Questions. Listen too! Everyone loves to feel important and interesting. If one can make their date feel these things, chances are he/she will be more attracted.

    8. Having a good time? Let it show. Smile. Laugh. A well-placed ‘I’m having a great time’ is good. Let him/her know and thank them for it too.

    9. Be passionate about sharing information. Be decisive in one’s answers, and don’t wallow back and forth. Don’t bring up past relationships.

    10. Keep it light and be positive. Eliminate all talk of medical conditions, politics, and religious ideas. Talk about travels, hobbies, favorite books, or anything else that is light and fun. Don’t be so serious. Very few people want to sit through a detailed explanation of one’s difficulties.

    11. Respect the flow and the concept of a “first date” whether the first date is meant to be 30 minutes or ends up five to six hours of talking.

    12. Be circumspect online if talking about the date on social media later.

The Singles Scene Column© in July by Kelly Leary Discusses the Summer Dating Tsunami

    [ad_1]

Kelly Leary, founder of Revolution Dating, shares The Summer Dating Tsunami in the July The Singles Scene Column©.

    Press Release

    updated: Jul 22, 2021

Kelly Leary from Revolution Dating just wrote The Singles Scene Column©. Here are excerpts from the July 2021 column.

“Happy July to all of our clients, couples and friends. Isn’t it great to feel liberated after 16+ months of all an around socially restrictive dating dilemma? How do you distance and date at the same time? We started seeing clients and matching again last summer, June of 2020. The pool of new men and women joining has been interesting and fun to witness. Professional men and women from 25 to 85 have been calling us after being in limbo.

Many couples broke up during COVID–leaving many of you to fly free. How do you feel about flying free? Being single is not your end game. Let the current dating tsunami take over your heart in a good way. Don’t fret about dating again. Old school ways of dating have re-emerged. Get to know each other better before diving in feet first.

Love again. Put yourself out there. Make yourself vulnerable.  There are no dating hacks (other than hiring a matchmaker). There is no insurance policy on love. Date smart and date local. Meet authentic people via private introduction from a matchmaker. Be aware of some of the bumps you could encounter along the way if you go online or with social media. Make a change for the better. Don’t get bitter, like many who stay dating online.

    Common Online Dating Risks:

Micro-Cheating: Inappropriate flirting or contact with another that lacks physical touch. This usually occurs on an electronic device in one way or another. If you are doing anything you would not want your partner to know about, like texting inappropriately, sending photos or sharing intimate feelings with anyone other than your exclusive partner, then you’re micro-cheating.

Love Bombing: The flame that burns too fast dies quickly. Have you felt someone fall madly in love with you, but they have never met you or you met out of convenience? Think twice. They could be trying to get over a former heartache using you as their rebound distraction.

Catfishing: A person lures someone into a relationship by pretending to be someone else online or altering their appearance. Catfishes steal photos from strangers’ profiles or create multiple personas to make their stories more believable. They avoid a face-to-face meeting.

Have you resisted dating because of all or some of the above? Don’t think of what you have to lose, think of what you have to gain. Time to get real and Love Offline. Start dating again.

  • The Singles Scene Column© in December by Kelly Leary Discusses Holiday Love Secrets!

The Singles Scene Column© in December by Kelly Leary Discusses Holiday Love Secrets!

    [ad_1]

Kelly Leary with Revolution Dating discusses the upsides and downsides of being single in December.

    Press Release

    updated: Dec 11, 2020

Kelly Leary from Revolution Dating just wrote an article for The Singles Scene Column©. Here are excerpts from the December 2020 column.

“The UPSIDE of Being Single in December:

“So this is Christmas, and what have you done? Another year older and a new one just begun. And so this is Christmas, I hope you have fun.”

    John Lennon, Singer-songwriter

    1. You don’t have to buy your romantic partner something you don’t like as a gift.

    2. You can pick and choose where you want to go for Holiday gatherings. Freedom. No more long drives to the in-laws!

    3. You have more time for you and your family since you no longer have to split your time between families. Do things and celebrate the way you want to and the way you always did prior to your last relationship.

The DOWNSIDE of Being Single in December:

    1. People will feel sorry for you, no matter what you say or think.

    2. You will be asked irritating questions that make your skin crawl: “Why are you still single? You are so pretty.” or “Why don’t you try online dating?” No one walks in your shoes, and only you know what you need to do next.

    3. You will have no one to kiss on New Year’s Eve 2020 (the most important kiss of the year), This is in fact the biggest bummer of all, so hopefully you will call us when you read this column. We can preempt the issue for you! Call it Damage Control.

    4. You will be sleeping alone every night, even on the most romantic nights of the year. No couples holiday jammies for you this year, but let’s aim for next year, right? Don’t wait on the fence like you sometimes do. Covid is not an excuse. Where there is a will there is a way.

THE SOLUTION: Dodge the Single Bullet! (No matter what your age is–this can be done!)

THE Florida Matchmaker increases your odds of finding attractive people to date with one simple phone call, the same way we have changed tens of thousands of lives over the last 29 years! It’s tough being single, newly single, or a widow/widower this time of year. Flip the coin over and get proactive. The BEST gift you can give yourself this month and lift your spirits instantly is the gift of love, from YOU to YOU. When your relatives ask, “You are still single?” you can confidently say “Not for long!”

Let’s unite, bond, love, and connect. December holds a mirror up to you and asks, “What do you want?” I know what you want because you are reading this column. The next step? Make your appointment to meet us, and we will take care of the rest. Call 561-630-9696. Go to www.revolutiondating.com.

We are all in this together! Wishing you an extraordinary Holiday Season and a Happy New Year 2021!
