  • I Just Treated Myself to Every Dream Shoe on My Holiday Wish List

I Just Treated Myself to Every Dream Shoe on My Holiday Wish List

    [ad_1]

This may be the season of gift giving, but if you ask me, receiving gifts is just as nice. I love taking a moment to review my holiday wish list and treat myself, and because I live, breathe, and work in fashion, this list can be extensive. So this year, I decided to narrow it down to one category: shoes. Nordstrom‘s shoe selection has been beckoning me all season long with some of my most-wanted styles including The Row’s Almond Toe Pumps and the ever-popular Ferragamo Astro Sculpted Heel Sandals. So naturally, I headed to this retailer to start checking these shoes and more off my list. Keep scrolling for all the pairs that made it to checkout.

I'm Bergdorf's Fashion Director—These Are the Only Holiday Trends That Matter

    [ad_1]

When it comes to the holidays, there’s no one I trust more than Linda Fargo, Bergdorf Goodman’s SVP and Fashion Director, not to mention the master of all things festive. Simply put, everything that goes in and out of the iconic New York City mainstay goes through her, especially during the holidays, when the 200,000+ square-foot building transforms into a winter wonderland of luxury, excess, and glamour. Because of that, you can safely bet that she’s well versed in the year’s most-wanted items and trends for the season of presents and parties, from dresses and jewelry to shoes and handbags.

With December fully under way, I called on Fargo following the store’s 2023 holiday-window unveiling (which she fabulously hosted alongside Martha Stewart wearing the sparkliest gown I’ve ever seen and a matching silver Moncler puffer) to find out which holiday-dressing trends she’s backing for the joyous time ahead. And as always, she didn’t disappoint. Scroll down to get the inside scoop from the “eyes of Bergdorf Goodman” herself.

(I’m hosting for the first time!) This year, my holiday party attire is all about chic looks with fun, party-ready accessories. Metallic shoes, red handbags, stacks of sparkly jewelry… I want it all. This aesthetic was also the inspiration behind Who What Wear’s latest shoot full of elevated and wearable outfits for the festive season ahead. • I Spent Hours Restocking My Holiday Wardrobe–and It Only Includes Cozy Pieces

I Spent Hours Restocking My Holiday Wardrobe–and It Only Includes Cozy Pieces

    [ad_1]

I’m just going to say it: I’m not the biggest fan of getting dressed up for the holidays. Don’t get me wrong—I love a moment to get decked out, but this year, I’m toning it down a bit. My approach to holiday dressing used to involve multiple festive looks such as black-tie dresses and pantsuits, but the older I get, the more I prefer ease and comfort over anything else.

This year, I’m embracing a more laid-back aesthetic, but make no mistake—it will still be chic. Target is one of my favorite places to go when I’m looking for elevated staples, and it definitely delivered this season. I’ve already added the gray fleece loungewear set to my cart, and I want to style the classic black lounge dress with an oversize cardigan and a pair of knitted knee-high socks. Keep scrolling for all of my cozy picks.

New York has been freezing ever since I got back from London, and I’m right at the point where I’ve been wearing knits long enough to be craving some chic, new options. So what a little treat that Nordstrom is having a sale that’s positively overflowing with excellent sweaters at this coziest and most expensive time of year.

I’d hate for you to miss out on the best of the sale, so I’ve curated the under-$180 sweater styles that I’m predicting will sell out first. It’s all here, from cable-knits to chunky turtlenecks, Fair Isle to stripes, trending cardigans to on-sale cashmere. So make like David Rose on Schitt’s Creek and begin assembling your cedar chest—you’re going to need extra storage to accommodate all your expensive-looking new knits.

This Might Be J.Crew's Prettiest Collection Yet—18 Items You'll Wish You Bought

    [ad_1]

I’ve seen a lot of collaborations in my day, but as I sit here typing away, I’m finding it difficult to think of one that rivals J.Crew‘s latest team up in terms of overall good looks and buy worthiness. On Tuesday, the brand on everyone’s lips in 2023 dropped a 18-piece holiday collection with Ukrainian label Anna October, a move that will surely lead to some of the chicest party looks of the season.

The collection, which spans from dresses both long and short to separates and even jewelry, is designed with feminine grace and confidence in mind, culminating in a mix of sheer sequins; stringy, red maxis; delicate feathered accents; and subtly sexy off-the-shoulder moments. Basically, it includes all of the trends I’ve been scouring the internet for to write about ahead of the season of nightly holiday parties—all in one place. Below, shop all 18 pieces from the just-launched collection. And don’t wait. I have a feeling that every last one with sell out.

Wait—I Think I Just Found the Gifts That Are Impossible Not to Impress

    [ad_1]

PSA: I’ve officially found the best gifts. This year, I set out on a mission to find gifts that are timeless and chic—things that my loved ones could use every day but also feel a little luxe. I’m happy to report I completed this task with flying colors—and a little help from Nordstrom. The retailer always hits the spot with trendy yet classic pieces. The olive-green Bottega crossbody bag helped me cross my sister off my list—it’s just so simple and chic. (Don’t tell, but I’m adding it to my cart too.) And I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to treat my niece to beauty Hall of Famer Augustinus Bader’s set. Keep scrolling for all the items that have helped me complete my gift list already.

  • Velvet for the Holidays? Say Less—30 Luxe Buys to Elevate Your Winter Wardrobe

Velvet for the Holidays? Say Less—30 Luxe Buys to Elevate Your Winter Wardrobe

    [ad_1]

Unlike spring/summer or fall/winter—fashion seasons that see significant shifts year after year as trends change and designers test out new creative concepts—holiday collections don’t often jump around or change significantly from one November/December to the next. There are always a few Fair Isle sweaters, some sequins, and, of course, lots and lots of velvet. It’s a tradition I personally back 100%, specifically in regard to velvet.

The undeniably holiday-friendly fabric does evoke some images of my childhood, but when everyone and their sisters wear the same red or black velvet fit-and-flare dress this time of year, it also makes me immediately think of pure luxury. The clothes, shoes, and accessories outfitted with the textured material in 2023 are even more lavish than those that usually bubble up in my consciousness whenever the first signs of colder weather show face. Think bold-shouldered blazers and pencil skirts at Saint Laurent, dark-romance slip dresses at Rodarte, and body-con, well, everything at Alaïa. Below, shop the single most luxurious holiday-fashion trend of the year.

  • November Marks My Festive Party Outfit Planning—These Are the Pieces I’m Eyeing

November Marks My Festive Party Outfit Planning—These Are the Pieces I’m Eyeing

    [ad_1]

The start of November means holiday season has officially begun, and while some are putting up their decorations, others, including me, are taking up an entirely different task: holiday party outfit planning. When it comes to planning for festive party looks, I always consider these helpful tips: Black is never a mundane choice, sequins are always welcome, and a splash of color doesn’t hurt.

I’ve been feeling a little stunted in my outfit choices recently and decided to peruse Nordstrom‘s holiday curation for some inspiration. And boy did find it and then some. The red Staud mesh dress was first to go in my cart along with the Saint Laurent strap heels.  I’ve already thought of multiple ways to wear the embellished gray knit cardigan from Cinq à Sept (spoiler: with the Ulla Johnson ruffled black midi skirt and silver sequin Cult Gaia bag). Keep scrolling for all the pieces I’ve added to my wish list below.

I’m in Desperate Need of Holiday Party Pieces—Ref and Zara Came to the Rescue

    [ad_1]

If there is ever a time to have fun with your wardrobe, it’s the holiday season. Sequins, velvet, feathers, bow motifs, red hues—all not only appropriate but encouraged. I always look forward to this time of year since I love to get all dressed up and celebrate, and I seldom meet a sequin outfit I don’t like. With Halloween in the rearview mirror, all of my focus has shifted to full-on holiday mode. What better time than now to round up some affordable holiday-party-ready picks for all the upcoming festivities? I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Zara’s New Arrivals Just Eliminated Any Need For Further Holiday-Outfit Shopping

    [ad_1]

The holidays, as filled with joy and celebration as they are, can also be majorly stressful. There are presents to buy, people to see, parties to attend, and of course, outfits to pick out. So. Many. Outfits. And while we all cumulatively wish that the perfect velvet top or off-the-shoulder LBD could just magically appear in our closets right before we have to head out the door for the first event of the season, that isn’t exactly how it works in anyone other than Cher Horowitz’s closet. Damn.

That’s kind of where I come in. Well, me and Zara. After scrolling through the brand’s latest drop, it dawned on me just how perfect so many of the pieces were for the various holiday events we’ll all be invited to attend in the coming two months or so. So, to help curb the stress of the forthcoming holiday season, I copied a few of the most appropriate (and chic!) items from Zara’s new-arrivals page and pasted them below. It’s as close to the Clueless closet as I could get. Scroll down to see how I did.

  • I’m Calling It—This J.Crew LBD Will Be at Every Holiday Party From Now Until ’24

I’m Calling It—This J.Crew LBD Will Be at Every Holiday Party From Now Until ’24

    [ad_1]

As much as I’d like to pretend that it’s still summer, the season’s come to a close once again, and now, it’s time to face the fact that the holidays are approaching at lightning speed. If you want to be more prepared than I usually am when they come around, it’s pivotal that you get started on your gift shopping and outfit shopping too. Fortunately for you and me both, I just stumbled upon what’ll go down in the history books as 2023’s ultimate holiday dress. It’s an LBD so perfect and versatile that there’s no reason I can think of for it not to go completely viral.

The dress in question caught my eye this morning as I was scrolling through the latest drop from J.Crew, which is full of holiday-ready apparel, shoes, and accessories in fabrics like duchess satin, velvet, and tweed. A red, gold, silver, and black color palette really drives the theme home. Of all the hundreds of new arrivals I dug through, the item I fell hardest for was an off-the-shoulder jersey-knit maxi dress with long sleeves and a body-hugging silhouette that could just as easily be worn to a lunch date with the right shoes and bag as it could a black-tie gala. As an added bonus, the off-the-shoulder touch places it right at the top of both fall’s and winter’s trend lists, with everyone from Meghan Markle to Elsa Hosk donning the look and brands such as Khaite, Helsa, The Row, Jacquemus, and Reformation all making it.

Below, see and shop the dress that I’m predicting a major presence of come Thanksgiving and the holidays that follow. While you’re at it, scroll through more of my favorite finds from J.Crew’s new collection
