    If I’m being honest, I have never really been a festival person. I know people who absolutely love it and travel to different cities to go to festivals or never miss a Coachella. Couldn’t be me. I’m not sure why, I love music and any excuse to dress outside of your comfort zone, but something about the big crowds and the thought of walking miles from one stage to another just didn’t appeal to me. You’ll never guess what convinced me to go to my first festival. I had a Hamptons trip already planned with my friends and we have a running joke about how I’m always drinking a Celsius (my energy drink of choice), and that Celsius was sponsoring a festival in the Hamptons the same weekend we were already going to be attending.

    When the stars align like that, how can one say no? So suddenly my relaxing weekend out East has turned into attending my first festival and I totally needed to pivot on what I was planning to pack. As a festival first timer I took to Pinterest, instagram, and TikTok to look for tons of festival outfit inspiration. While this was a festival it was also a festival in the Hamptons, so of course I had to take that into consideration when packing. Once I arrived at the festival there were so many classic concert trends on display. Everyone took their festival fit very seriously. I was honestly impressed, but there were 5 trends that no-doubt reigned supreme.

    As a mental preparation for the summer music festival scene (and my return to the desert next week, I’ve lived vicariously through everyone’s Coachella 2023 outfits this year. Naturally, from TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter, it looks like celebrities and influencers alike are taking things ten times more chill this year— reminding us all of the good ‘ole days where Instagram barely existed and green juice wasn’t $17 on the festival grounds. While there were the usual suspects for accessories and clothing items that seem to be Coachella staples year after year, the best festival fashion at Coachella 2023 gives rise to low-rise maxi skirts, simple t-shirts, and bohemian-inspired accessories. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think it was 2013. Pass me my flower crown!

    I’ve always said I’d go to festivals simply for the outfit opportunities. There’s something so fun about festival fashion—it’s an excuse to dress as wild as you’d like.
