CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — UPDATE: The roadways that were closed due to flooding have reopened.
Previous Story: Officials with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that several roads throughout the county are seeing significant flooding, with some areas seeing up to one foot of water on the roadway.
The westbound lanes of CR 486 (Norvell Bryant Highway) near the Shoppes at Black Diamond are currently shut down.
Parts of West Homosassa Trail, including Lee Way to Rock Crusher Road, are also closed, officials said. Additional areas along Homosassa Trail may be affected by the rising water.
Officials advise residents and drivers to avoid these areas and use alternate routes if possible. They also said to use extreme caution while driving through storms and to remain alert for flooded roadways.
