Arguably known as one of the biggest names in music, rapper and actor Bad Bunny is cashing in on his success with the purchase of a new home only fit for someone of his stature.

Originally born Benito Antonio Martinez, the A-list celebrity and Grammy Award-winning artist has been on the rise since his 2016 single, “Diles” and it doesn’t seem like he has any plans of slowing down. And though his new abode came with an $8.8 million price tag, its location in the hills above Hollywood’s Sunset Strip brings a whole new meaning to lyrics “if looks could kill.”

After first being offered last year for $9 million, the mansion was inevitably sold by Ali Jassim, who is reported to have a longstanding love for Puerto Rico and has a personal residence on the Caribbean island. Originally built in 2005, the modern compound was last sold in 2015 for $8.2 million, but was not actually listed for sale at the time of Bad Bunny’s purchase.

The newly renovated residence, besides its treetop-like position in the hills, resembles that of a modern-chic fortress. The half-acre property — which could double as a staycation resort — is surrounded by enormous walls with large gates, making it hidden from public view. The main house features 5 bedrooms, while a two-story guesthouse with an attached garage can be accessed via a short walk across the lawn. That addition rounds out the room total to 8 bedrooms and 7 baths, with a total living space of over 7,000 square feet.

Inside the main house, whitewashed interiors and modern finishes guide you through several living rooms before leading you to the dining room and island-filled kitchen, set with stunning Viking appliances. Once upstairs, the master suite features a huge walk-in closet with its own sitting area, a private balcony, and a bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower as well as a freestanding tub.

Outside, the private backyard comes complete with a large open lawn, sprawling patios, an infinity-edge pool, and an open barbecue area. Guests and residents can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the city, all from the comfort of the palm tree-lined, resort-style backyard — a truly rare amenity for the Hollywood Hills.

Since 2018, Bad Bunny has been on a fast track to stardom and now with this new residence (as well as his reported main home in San Juan, Puerto Rico), the Bullet Train actor can settle into his legendary celebrity status and enjoy the best of both of his worlds. You can check out more photos of his newly purchased home here.
