NYPD ramps up security for New Year’s Eve celebrations

An estimated one million revelers are expected to ring in 2024 in New York City’s Times Square. Amid daily protests over the Israel-Hamas war, and U.S. intelligence agencies warning of heightened threats of violence, the New York City Police Department will have thousands of officers on alert for one of the biggest New Year’s Eve parties in the world.
