NORTH CAROLINA (WNCN) — North Carolina’s Avett Brothers are heading to Broadway this fall, according to an announcement they made Friday night to a live crowd.
The Brothers, Scott and Sett, wrote the music and lyrics for the musical “Swept Away.”
The Brothers made their announcement about the musical on Friday at their show at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York.
The musical will debut at Shubert Theatre in New York City this fall. The musical is about four survivors of an 1888 shipwreck off the coast of Massachusetts.
“Swept Away” also includes songs from four other Avett Brothers albums and an original song they wrote for the musical.
