Everything to Know About the Knicks Championship Parade

Hours after the Knicks secured their place in NBA Finals history, Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed that the team’s parade would take place in the coming days, using just a few simple words. “Parade. Thursday. Manhattan,” he posted on social media.

The ticker-tape parade will start at 10 a.m. in Battery Park with the procession traveling north on Broadway through the iconic Canyon of Heroes, the route of some of the city’s most historic celebrations since the 1880s, before ending at Broadway and Chambers Street adjacent to City Hall.

“It may well be the largest parade in New York City history,” Mamdani said on Monday. “And I think that speaks to what this team means to this city.”

The hallowed corridor has honored statesmen like President Dwight D. Eisenhower and British prime minister Winston Churchill as well as astronaut John Glenn and the crew of the space shuttle Discovery. This will be the third straight year that New Yorkers have celebrated a team with a ticker-tape parade. The New York Liberty, the city’s WNBA team, held their parade down the Canyon of Heroes in 2024 in honor of their WNBA championship win and were followed by NWSL team Gotham FC after their victory in the 2025 NWSL Championship.
