Cement Fire: Vegetation fire burns in Calaveras County

SAN ANDREAS, Calif.

Cal Fire is responding to a vegetation fire burning in Calaveras County on Monday.

The Cement Fire is burning near Cement Plant Road and Pool Station Road in the San Andreas area.

An Alert California camera showed the fire producing a plume of white smoke. As of 11:40 a.m., the fire had burned 5 acres, Cal Fire said.

Meteorologist Dirk Verdoorn said firefighting conditions include winds at 6 mph with gusts of up to 12 mph. The wind is pushing west to northwest, he said.
