Carjacking suspect leads Louisville police in car chase before arrest

Louisville police arrested a man after a downtown carjacking turned into a police pursuit.

At 3:07 p.m. on Sept 2, a man, believed to be armed, carjacked a motorist in the 400 block of West Main Street, according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Matt Sanders.

The suspect stole an “easily identifiable” black work truck, which officers were able to locate shortly after the incident.

LMPD arrested Briylon Tyson, 26, after following him through the West End, eventually finding Tyson stuck in an alley, where he fled on foot.

“He wasn’t fast enough today, and was arrested shortly after,” Sanders said in the release.

Tyson, who suffered an arm abrasion in the incident, will be booked once he is released from the hospital, Sanders said.
