With a series of conversations on Discord, Levi’s® resurrects the Levi’s® Music Project to support music education and support budding musicians.

The Philippine music business has been growing steadily as local musicians and artists continue to leave their mark on social media, radio, and other platforms. This has provided a platform for aspiring young musicians to refine and expand their sound and get international recognition. The Levi’s® Music Project 2022, where music industry professionals serve as mentors for aspiring musicians, is back in keeping with the famous fashion brand’s commitment to supporting music education.

Since 2015, Levi’s® has collaborated with renowned musicians and regional partners to create the Levi’s® Music Project, an effort that provides resources for music instruction to the next generation of young musicians through neighborhood-based initiatives. Levi’s® Music Project has promoted the development of numerous talents through music education over the years.

This year, Levi’s® is hosting an audio workshop that will provide those eager to take the music industry by storm through a series of detailed, descriptive, and insightful topics presented by the industry’s finest artists and performers through this year’s theme: INDUSTRY 101. This workshop is being held to continue fostering the growth of the music industry and cultivating talents to reach their maximum potential.

INDUSTRY 101, a 45-minute LIVE audio workshop on the Levi’s® Discord channel, will feature notable figures from the music industry, including Enzo Valdez, Juan Karlos, and other musicians from South East Asia, in keeping with Levi’s® aim to catalyze the music industry.

Young and independent musicians from the Philippines will be able to connect, educate themselves, and develop through this workshop’s interactive format with other like-minded creatives in the area. With Levi’s® culture of creativity and sustained investment in education and community to promote the music business as a foundation, it aims to link said musicians with artists and mentors for inspiration.

Through our unified program – Levi’s® Music Project, we strive to support and cultivate the local music industry across South East Asia. We do this by connecting aspiring musicians with renowned artists and mentors to help up-and-coming artists grow,” said Herve Bullot, East Asia Pacific Marketing Director (Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea, ANZ) at Levi Strauss & Co.

The themes presented serve as a way to establish the groundwork for new and enthusiastic musicians. Told via the voices of well-known local talents and industry professionals, they provide crucial information young musicians need to take on the industry, such as:

Shaykh Akbar – Record Producer, A&R Manager, and lecturer at SOMA.
Rayi Putra – Frontman of Indonesian pop-rock sensation RAN.
Yana – Up and coming pop singer and songwriter.
Cindy Gu – Regional A&R Manager for Universal Music Southeast Asia
A.Nayaka – An artist without formal training aiming to bridge Indonesian music with the rest of the world.
SonaOne – Award-winning rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer.
IRONBOY – Winner of The Rapper Thailand 1
Enzo Valdez – The man behind the success of Ben & Ben and Zack Tabudlo
Juan Karlos – Singer, songwriter, and TV personality dubbed a music genius and a multi-genre artist
huhsmile – Tiktok music influencer that is genuine, quirky, and on the rise.

Alicia Kang – Regional Label Manager at Astralwerks Asia, doubles as a host and emcee.
MYRNE – DJ and producer highly regarded for utilizing discord and gaming for his new EP.
Cassandra Tan – Consumer insights and listening behavior expert.
