All evacuations lifted in El Dorado County as crews continue to fight vegetation fire

Progress has stopped on *** fire that sparked evacuations in El Dorado County. *** fire burned almost 100 acres near Pilot Hill, close to Folsom Lake. *** section of homes between Salmon Falls Road and Equestrian Way were evacuated this afternoon. KCOA3’s Esteban Reynoso joins us live from that fire. So Esteban, did this fire cause any damage? Well, Cecil, as far as we know there’s not *** lot of damage unless you’re talking about the grass that you see right behind me here. Go ahead and take *** look. We’re here on Miners Valley Road. That’s where the miner’s fire got its name from. Now fire officials tell us that this has burned over 90 acres thus far, and right now they have forward progress stopped, and we are now learning that they have all evacuation orders and warnings are now lifted from this fire. People are now able to go back home. If you did get forced out of your home from this fire. Now it did start. Behind *** residence, and we’re assuming it’s this residence right here that has all this charred earth right behind it here and still fire crews are on scene. They put *** hose all around this fire as it continued to spread and threaten homes that are on the other side of this hill. Uh, one of the fire officials that we spoke with, which was Battalion Chief Derrick Evans with the Cal Fire, Amador and El Dorado unit, he says that there were about 6 to 8 houses on the other side of this hill that were threatened by this fire. That’s why they put that evacuation order. Right away in place, this fire started at about 1:50 this afternoon and at about 4 o’clock they had that forward progress stop. Now we asked him how they get this under control, this fire, *** fire like this specifically with *** little bit of wind and *** lot of heat on this fire. They say that they threw as much as they could at the fire, at the flames with hand crews, bulldozers, water tenders, several engines, and 3 helicopters that were going around here making water drops as we were. Here as well, so this is *** fire that’s now looks like it’s fully under control. They are starting to mop it up again. All evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted from this fire.
